ItsMyLastOne · 04/12/2012 10:12

Just wanted to mark a spot here. I came on the first thread aaaaages ago, but it all moved too quick for me!

I'm 40+1 with DC2, another girl. DD came on her due date after starting contractions at 39+4. No signs with this one yet though.

I was feeling seriously fed up waiting, but have suddenly become very relaxed about it all. Xmas Confused Maybe a trip to the German market and a mulled wine hot chocolate will help get the baby out! Xmas Wink

Congratulations to everyone who's given birth, and good luck to anyone in the middle of it all. Xmas Smile

MaMaPo · 04/12/2012 10:13

Wow, that was quick Cashmere - congrats!

Right - I'm off to walk circles in the hospital garden to see if I get into natural labour and beat the induction. Best rug up...

Walnut8 · 04/12/2012 10:15

Clarella · 04/12/2012 10:39

Hi again itsmy!

Yes don't overdo it mama, but if you find the solution let me know!

Dh gleefully excited about my sweep .... it was almost a bit too gleefully considering I'm actually not sure the last was anything and I'm beginning to wince in anticipation. Waiting in waiting room. Waiting waiting waiting!

Honeycantthinkofanxmasnickname · 04/12/2012 11:58

DH's best friend and his wife have just announced they're pregnant :)

cherrypiew3 · 04/12/2012 12:05

Congratulations Cashmere

Good luck with sweep Clarella

Spotty you are doing so well.

Good luck Mamapo

If one more person tells me I am not big enough to have this baby yet I will cry.
Going for another sweep later today really hoping it works this time.

MyDaydream · 04/12/2012 12:23

Congratulations cashmere!
spotty great news about Felix, good luck with mission normalise.
Hope the sweep works today cherry.
Got my scan booked for Friday. She said I need a full bladder, but people who've had later scans has it been as important? Obviously ill try my best, but baby pushes on my bladder all day and even a tiny glass of water results in me needing the bathroom pretty much straight away so not sure it'll work. I had such a crap time at my 20 week scan because my bladder wasn't sufficiently full I really don't want a repeat of that.

Clarella · 04/12/2012 12:47

Well done spotty and Felix!!

Baby 1/5 engaged (I now know he's been like that since last thurs!) But cervix still posterior - she actually had to shift his head to reach it! Bit more ouchy and yelpy but tbh I think a smear can be worse. She won't do another one though :( still, there's time between now and Monday for something to happen. I suppose the good news is that he really is in a super position for labour and hasn't budged for weeks.

Myday I would have thought you don't need to worry about the bladder now - can't imagine why you'd need it full plus I don't think many women at your stage will manage that!! I had one at 30 wks and a quick portable one at 36 .no mention of bladder but is yours for something specific?

Good lunch cherry!

MyDaydream · 04/12/2012 12:53

It's a growth scan, he's dropped a little bit growth wise on the chart, and since I was saying his movements have gotten weaker the doctor thought it best to scan just in case. She just casually mentioned the full bladder at the end of the call so not sure if its just habit.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/12/2012 12:58

daydream I had an empty bladder for my growth scan at 36 ish weeks and it was fine.

kate2boysandabump · 04/12/2012 12:59

Congratulations MummyCox and Cashmere Looking forward to reading about their arrivals soon.

Clarella Maybe this will be the sweep that works for you Smile

Daydream I wouldn't bother to try and fill your bladder. I had one at 39 weeks and there was no need.

Mamapo Good luck Smile

Honey Wow! Is your dh's friend Prince William? Grin

Still no labour here. I didn't post yesterday as I cried on and off all day Blush I still keep getting random tightenings and pains, but then nothing. I went to bed last night and was woken up to have to diarrhea (sorry TMI) and then baby decided it was party time, so I was awake the rest of the night.

This morning i dropped off the boys and came straight back to bed and I have managed some sleep and now feel a bit better.

I'm just tired of all the 'signs' that never go anywhere!!!

kate2boysandabump · 04/12/2012 13:01

Also... Blush

cherry good luck with your sweep too.

Spotty That is great news, I hope you're all home together soon Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 04/12/2012 13:20

MyDaydream I had four scans after my 20 week one and never had a full bladder for any of them.

Hormonalhell · 04/12/2012 13:20

kate I know how u feel about the symptoms and then nothing. I just don't know what my body is playing at this pregnancy Angry

Hormonalhell · 04/12/2012 13:22

mydaydream I too have had growth scans and have never bothered filling my bladder - too bloody painful now Grin

EggNogMichelle · 04/12/2012 13:22

Self pity here, DH didn't get the job, feedback was he gave a brilliant interview with no faults but because other people had post qualification experience and the accountants cut the number of jobs from 11 to 5, he missed out (he was number 6 on the list!). Although we have contingency money to top us up for the next couple of months, if he doesn't have a perminant full time job soon I will have to cut my mat leave :(
