How many babies are we going to get on this thread?

OP posts:

Do you think symptoms are better or worse than nothing? I've not even had any BH so far (39+2) still quite relaxed about things, but a little jealous if the symptoms you've all been getting. Surely it means you're closer to meeting LO than me?

Totally not jealous of the lack of sleep though. I'm still managing to sleep most of the night, and am still tired.

Really hope we get more babies soon, and more people relieved of the wait and uncertainty.

Stacks · 04/12/2012 13:27

Oh Egg hope your DH finds something soon. Does he have anymore interviews or options lined up?

FriendofDorothy · 04/12/2012 13:44

So, what do people pack in their nappy bags? What are essentials?

Hormonalhell · 04/12/2012 13:46

cashmere congratulations on safe arrival of Finlay. I am soooo Envy

stacey fingers and toes crossed it happens naturally for you

Hormonalhell · 04/12/2012 13:49

No Stacks I wish I wasn't having no symptoms - I am sick of clock watching, timing contractions, being awake all night and when I walk onto antenatal ward everyone recognises me Blush

Hormonalhell · 04/12/2012 14:01

eggnog sorry for u and DP what a blow when the excitement of a baby is close.

Sorry for all my little posts, I can't keep up with this thread half the time

SpottyTeacakes · 04/12/2012 14:09

Fod nappies, wipes (or cotton wool & water), muslin(s), spare outfit if out all day, then anything for you! It gets much more as they get bigger I need a suitcase for two year old dd Grin

WillYuleDoTheFandango · 04/12/2012 14:13

Hello All!

Congratualtions Cashmere!

Daydream I have to give urine samples before my growth scans so you don't usually need a full bladder. In fact during one I was sent to empty it as it was getting in the way.

Mama get jogging never mind walking, evict that baby now!

Welcome back Itsmy

Eggnog could your DH maybe give them a ring and let them know he'd like to be considered if anything comes up, someone who was offered a job may turn it down or not make it past the trial period. It couldn't hurt.

EggNogMichelle · 04/12/2012 14:23

Having to look at private sector jobs now, or working for an agency. The job search starts again tomorrow, must stay optimistic!

Stacks my symptoms have been equally pathetic, and with EDD in 2days, I think I'll be with clarella in the long over due club!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/12/2012 14:25

Oh eggs that's Truely rubbish, I hope things start looking up soon.

My kids are going out to tea at a friends after school. I'm bored already lol. Just cleaned the windows in the living room. I need to do the kitchen ones too but have run out of kitchen roll and DH keeps it on top of the units and I can't jump to get it anymore! Lol might go have a bath and make sure I'm shaved and ready just in case baby comes (which obviously it won't because I want it to!)

EggNogMichelle · 04/12/2012 14:27

Willyule if anyone does turn down their job offer, he will be automatically offered, and normally if a job appears in the next month they will automatically send him a re interview date, but since the NHS is dire financial chaos, they will probably just go short staffed for a few more months.

acjfluff · 04/12/2012 14:28

Hi all, I'm another who was here at the start but couldn't keep up!

39+2 today and my waters broke this morning. Monitored in hospital and sent home. If I don't go into labour on my own then I'm booked for induction tomorrow at 7am. Woohoo I'm going to have a baby!
Grin

Congratulations cashmere and all the others who've had babies.

Good luck those with symptoms, I hope everything goes smoothly.

Secondsop · 04/12/2012 14:47

Congratulations cashmere!

stacey - hope all goes well for the next few days for you. You've been successfully expressing colostrum haven't you? If your baby's sugars are a bit low at birth, stick to your guns about using your colostrum.

Hormonalhell · 04/12/2012 14:52

ACJ how exciting soooo jealous!!

Good luck and tell us how it goes looooooove birth stories Smile

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/12/2012 14:57

Thanks seconds yeah I've been able to get about 5ml a day easily now. So I'm stock piling in the freezer. Hopefully they won't have a problem with me using that for baby if s/he won't feed straight away.

gilsbubbles · 04/12/2012 15:02

Congratulations to all the new arrivals.,im having to limit how often I'm catching up with everyones news cause I was getting all jealous and over emotional as my fire date was getting closer.
No symptoms here either, due date was yesterday so little one is officially late. Strangely the waiting is seeming a bit easier now that the date had passed and I'm not anxious about a specific deadline.

SpottyTeacakes · 04/12/2012 15:15

Good luck acj!

We've moved into the not so poorly baby room! And my boob is empty after a breastfeed!

Honeycantthinkofanxmasnickname · 04/12/2012 15:22

Woohoo spotty that's amazing news Grin. Any idea when you'll be taking him home?

Good luck acj

WeeJo08 · 04/12/2012 15:35

Congratulations Mummycox & cashmere!! Thanks

Stacks I didn't have any symptoms either (not just no symptoms on the day, none that week/previous weeks either!) and then on Friday night my waters went! I know that probably doesn't help, but just trying to say that sometimes your body (or the baby) can just decide it's ready and go!

Honeycantthinkofanxmasnickname · 04/12/2012 15:45

Yay. Just took Dash to be weighed- 6lb 14 - 2lb up on birth weight :)

brooke89 · 04/12/2012 16:04

Great news honey and spotty

Hope things get going for the rest of us soon - So fed up and how annoying is it everyone asking if you've popped yet?!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 04/12/2012 16:05

Yay spotty and honey so glad the boys are so well!

SpottyTeacakes · 04/12/2012 16:22

That's great honey

Well the nurse I saw today said she's in on Saturday and doesn't expect to see me but I'm not getting my hopes up! I'm going back tomorrow and am able to stay until Sunday so I'm going to try my hardest to get bf established in that time not sure ill be able to? He doesn't open his mouth very wide and cries to start with Confused

Clarella · 04/12/2012 16:30

Hormonal and Kate I'm with you on the taunting signs being so annoying. After the crazy bhs yesterday barely anything today. Don't think sweep any good either! A Benjamin button pregnancy. I'm even smaller on the measure chart!

Stacks a friend never had a single bh till actually in labour just after due date.

Gils I think it gets easier a few days post edd - I'm seeing it as extra time to do nice things, also as you should get an induction date at 42 wks I'm basically aiming for that date and anything sooner is a bonus. I'm 8 days over and had quite a nice day in the end with all the now non pregnant sleep deprived nct girls.

Great news honey!

ellliebelle · 04/12/2012 16:51

congratulations cashmere and another lovely name :) we still don't have a boys name picked out
