Ohgood I'm so sorry you've had such stressful news. I really hope when you see the specialists on Monday things are not as bad as you fear. Until then, look after yourself and we are all here for you if you need some virtual hand holding x

Badgerwife · 20/12/2012 18:39

ohGood I'm so sorry about your news Sad

I had my scan on Tuesday and it turns out I completely got the dates wrong and I am not 12 weeks but more like 13+4. It's got me completely stumped as it would mean I had my last period a whole week after I conceived but aside from that weirdness all I can think of is that I'm that bit closer to seeing the end of the 24/7 nausea.

It does also mean that my due date is now 21st June, quite a bit earlier than expected! I should probably join the June thread now, as from previous experience it's very unlikely the baby will be late. I wish you all the best in your July pregnancies!

SugarPlumShirl · 20/12/2012 18:59

Hello. I'm new here - I'm 10 weeks today! I'm due 18th July. This will be my 3rd baby but 6th pregnancy. I've had 4 scans already and so far so good. Got my next on 10th Jan and it can't come soon enough!! xxx

flyingsprocket · 20/12/2012 20:31

Welcome sugarplumb I actually saw the Nutcracker yesterday, so magical & for me it's Christmas in a box!

So sorry to hear about your scan ohgood. I hope all is ok on Monday

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 21/12/2012 06:35

Oh good sorry about your news, thinking of you for Monday.

Sugarplumshirl we have the same due date, and this is also my 3rd dc, had a scan the other day and all was measuring fine, got to go again on the 3rd jan.

Has anyone else had any friends go weird after telling them? I told my friend after scan the other day and she is now ignoring my texts. She's definitely not ttc as she's just had a implant and only been with her partner a couple of months. Only thing I can think of is that dp told his best friend and she asked who else knew but that's our choice who to tell when.

AmaDablam · 21/12/2012 06:49

ohgood so sorry to hear about your scan. It must be awful knowing something's wrong but not what or how bad, especially with having to wait three whole days to find out. At least you should know more before Christmas and I really hope it's good news.

Managed to survive my work do last night. Fortunately it was at one of those "buffet" style places which suited my current need to "graze" rather than have big meals. Don't think I could have faced a full on Christmas dinner! I let the news slip to one trusted colleague who I was giving a lift too as well (mainly as I was worried I might start retching in the car and didn't want her to think I had the norovirus!). She said she already had her suspicions - think the sudden declining of tea/coffee and constant supply of snacks had something to do with it!

Off to the GP this morning. Spoke too soon about managing to avoid the cystitis Sad. Does anyone know if it's too early for the uterus to start pressing on the bladder and causing problems? I don't know but as well as the usual hallmarks of a water infection there has definitely been something weird going on with my waterworks for the last week or so - eg. feeling like I need a really big wee and then only a trickle comes out, or sometimes needing to go and not being able to at all. Will mention it to the Doc anyway...

Have a good day - my last at work until 3rd January woohooo! Hope everyone else is getting a decent break too. Xmas Smile

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 21/12/2012 06:56

Ama I read somewhere that even before the baby presses on your bladder hormones cause things to relax making you need to wee all the time.

I have bladder problems anyway and my scan the other day was agony was so glad when I could go to the loo, they've obviously realised how desperate people are as there's a toilet right next to the room in ultrasound!

Cheeseandbread · 21/12/2012 07:47

I managed to survive my work do too without anyone guessing I think. Although after eating turkey, stuffing, trimmings and Christmas pud I did look very bloated!

Ama I too need to wee all the time and sometimes it feels like it should be a big one and only a little trickle comes our- really annoying when it's the fourth time in the night you've got up!

Last day at work for me before Christmas and only a half day and I have my booking in appointment later. I'm getting ready to feign wisdom tooth pain and say I've managed to get an emergency dental appointment. I hate lying but don't feel ready to say anything to work until I've had a scan.

Happy Friday everyone- food luck to those having scans.

Cheeseandbread · 21/12/2012 07:49

Good luck not food luck

MrsMillions · 21/12/2012 08:12

Last day for me too, not back until 2nd Jan. Big long to-do list to work through but can't wait to get home at the end of it.

Also survived my Xmas do last night, got a few comments about my J2Os but managed to gloss over it; hoping to keep it quiet at work still until after NT scan on Jan 2nd. We were at a comedy club and one of the acts did quite a bit on childbirth, was glad the room was quite dark so people couldn't see my face!

Welcome to sugar and big hugs to sogood, hope you get through the weekend ok and get some answers on Monday.

10+6.

MrsMillions · 21/12/2012 08:14

ohgood even. Brain not awake yet.

dinkystinky · 21/12/2012 10:13

I had my work xmas lunch yesterday and basically told everyone as was v obvious I wasnt drinking anything. All firm xmas do tonight and I had trouble this morning finding a dress that didnt show the bloat too badly (found one in the end) so the entire firm will know by the end of tonight that I'm expecting...

wifey6 · 21/12/2012 10:37

Yay for everyone breaking up for Xmas today & welcome newbies!! July is going to be a real baby boom!
My best friend guessed yesterday as I wasn't drinking tea..it's my main dislike when pregnant! Also found baby's heartbeat on Doppler this week..which was very emotional & comforting before our scan on Sunday.
Found a lovely dress for a family wedding in a week..hope my belly doesn't grow too much between now & then! Grin

11+4
