So sorry for your news chocolate and bodice Sad

Someone was asking about mulled wine alternatives, bottlegreen do a spiced berry cordial which you make up with hot water which is rather nice, and belvoir do a ready made non alcoholic mulled wine. I'm sticking to those this year, but I will miss my champagne on christmas morning.

and can also sympathise with the poo issue, remember drinking loads of prune juice in previous pgs!

elliejjtiny · 11/12/2012 19:21

rancer, chocolate and bodice I'm so sorry.

DH was moaning on sunday that he wanted to tell his family about the baby, that they wouldn't judge, it would be fine. So I gave in and we told his mum and dad. It was lovely really, they were so excited. DH wanted to tell his brother too which was fine. Then DS1 and DS2 had their christmas play today and MIL, FIL and BIL came. BIL said congratulations in a normal talking voice in the school hall and then started talking about how he is really impressed that I am going to manage 4. He was really lovely but I'm sure some of the other mums at school heard and if they did it will be all round school by tomorrow. I wasn't planning on telling people from school until after the anomaly and heart scans at around 20 weeks.

wifey6 · 11/12/2012 20:14

chocolate & bodice...I am so sorry to read your sad news. Be gentle with yourselves & surround yourself with as much support as you can around you. Thoughts & prayers are with you both & your DPs. Sad

notprincesskate · 11/12/2012 20:16

So sorry for those that have left us today Sad look after yourselves, I hope you get sticky beans soon.

My symptoms are really slowly now, no nausea and resulting hunger at all today, although still managed to scoff several actually all of a packet of party rings Blush still another week and a day until scan.

On the subject of constipation have also been suffering terribly, oj is good, but generally have been advised to increase fruit and veg intake and make sure I'm drinking plenty, none which seem to have worked particularly, but I'll keep going and hope.

Hugs Bodice and Chocolateteabag - am so so sorry to hear your sad news. Sad

Thinkingpositivethoughts - have you tried prunes/prune juice? Also up your fluids as being dehydrated can make it worse. Lots of pears and plums might help too - but cut back on bananas and white bread which can bung you up again.

elliejjtiny · 11/12/2012 20:39

oops, forgot to add date.

Everyone keeps telling sickness is good but evenings are driving me mad if I'm not eating I feel sick (rest of the day is not great but gets worse though out the day) not a fan of ginger but not sure if its the ginger or the biscuit that stops the nausea! Moan over, just wanted to tell someone who might be going through the same thing!

Went in for my emergency appointment with the GP. Thankfully blood sugar is returning to normal. The poor GP tried to give me a pep talk on morning sickness it was very much "come on you can do it". Nausea is the pits but decided to try and grin and bare it without tablets.

chocolateteabag · 11/12/2012 21:32

Thanks everyone and sorry to hear your news too Bodice, it sucks
Starting to get period pain type cramps so hopefully MC is starting as I just want it over now.
Signing off this thread now, may pop back at some point to see how you are all faring, best wishes for safe and happy pregnancies for all of you Thanks

OhGood · 11/12/2012 22:11

chocolate and bodice I am so sorry. Look after yourselves.

ArkadyRose · 11/12/2012 22:16

Really sorry things haven't worked out for you this time, bodice & chocolate - CTB, I hope the cramps don't get too horrendous & it passes as gently as is possible in the circumstances. Hopefully you'll both be back on another thread in the not-too-distant future.

chocolate and bodice so sorry and sad to hear your news. Take care xx

arkady well that sounds fairly safe. Fingers crossed no invasion here but they're now totally ignoring us and won't discuss moving flights!! Ugh!

Welcome newbies Smile

Cutandstick · 11/12/2012 23:55

Lots of love to choclolate and bodice I hope your DP's are taking great care of you, and giving you lots of love and support.

Just thrown up in front of a group of DP's friends... Literally in front of them... More than once. Very classy. I need to buy some bags that have no holes in, and aren't transparent sandwich bags. Blush All very good about it and made no comment as to why I was sober puking after dinner in the car park. Blush

chocolate and bodice I am so sorry Sad

AmaDablam · 12/12/2012 06:36

Bodice so sorry that you had bad news yesterday too. Even if you were expecting it, I'm sure it doesn't make it any easier. Hope you are doing OK under the circumstances and good luck with the tests.

thinkingpositivethoughts have you tried dried apricots? Every time I reach for some, DH says "don't eat too many of them, they'll give you the runs", and I think "oh, well that would make a nice change!!"

Needless to say they haven't given me the runs, but do seem to keep me regular Smile

SundaySunshine · 12/12/2012 08:57

bodice sorry to here of your loss too. What a sad day yesterday Sad. I hope you and your dh have lots of support. Take care of yourself and good luck for the future, hope you get back on a board soon x

SundaySunshine · 12/12/2012 09:07

thinkingpositive me too! I've just asked my GP for advice as I'm really suffering and he said Lactulose was ok to take. I'm finding it really difficult to eat anything healthy because of ms. I've been surviving on toast and bananas, which I see now this is probably making things worse Hmm

dinkystinky · 12/12/2012 09:51

Definitely cut back on the toast and bananas SundaySunshine - assuming you can stomach it, lots of fruit and veg and water will help things along. And the dried apricots suggested upthread are a good idea.

Persuasion · 12/12/2012 12:42

chocolate and bodice I'm so sorry. Hopefully you will be back in antenatal soon.

For constipation, I've been drinking fruit smoothies, which generally seem to stay down quite well. Also dried apricots/dates/prunes and loads of water. Toast probably isn't helping!

In terms of mulled wine replacement Copella do a 'winter warmer' juice which is basically spiced apple and is lovely (and I seem able to keep down for some reason), it is going to be my christmas wine replacement!

My spotting has stopped again, and I still have horrible nausea, so think I might just have to accept that I'm going to bleed on and off all the way through. Want my 12 weeks scan now though to reassure me all is fine.

10+2 (maybe, but my due date is the same as ellie I think, and she seems to be farther ahead, no idea what's going on there)

Persuasion · 12/12/2012 12:44

No, I'm wrong, have recounted and am 11+2! Which is great coz I just lost a week in one fell swoop! Xmas Grin

missmaybe · 12/12/2012 13:05

So sorry to hear your news, rancer, bodice and chocolate.

I keep having nightmares about going to my 12 week scan and finding that I've had a missed miscarriage. Am seriously thinking about getting a private scan earlier, just for reassurance Confused

missmaybe · 12/12/2012 13:09

On a cheerier note, welcome to all the new folk!

I've been very busy with work - and the 3 hour commute each way - so haven't been on here much. But I did get a chance to meet up with one of my best friends recently - she's 22 weeks pregnant (so, about 3 months ahead of me) - and wow, she has got a proper bump now!

ArkadyRose · 12/12/2012 14:36

Woke up this morning and even yawning was making me gag. Skipped lunch because although I'm hungry, everything I looked at just made me retch. Think I might treat myself to some Pringles when I go out on the school run - typical that the one thing I sort of fancy and the thought of doesn't make me retch is the one thing I haven't got in the house right now!

Dead on 8 weeks today. Roll on 12 weeks when hopefully the ms will ease off. I think it was actually easier with the first three - I threw up copiously with them from 7pm each night but only for a couple of hours, and I was fine the rest of the day - it's actually more tiring just feeling queasy all day. Confused Must be having a boy - just to be awkward!
