Hello! Can I give a tentative wave and join in with you ladies (and gent)?!
I'm now 8+2 with DC1 and have been "lurking" for the past couple of weeks. Today I had my booking in appt with the MW so, although nothing much actually happened, I feel I've reached a bit of a milestone so feel ready to take the plunge and start joining in.
Really sorry to hear of all the sad stories that have already emerged on the thread. Obviously MC is going to be everyone's biggest fear, especially in these early days, but it is really reassuring to see that there is so much support from everyone if the worst does happen, and also that there are lots of people having (fingers very tightly crossed) healthy pregnancies relatively soon after going through a MC.
So far the first trimester seems to be treating me fairly kindly - enough symptoms to believe there might actually be a little person growing in there, but nothing too severe or debilitating. Like many others I'm finding the only way to keep the nausea at bay is constant munching (and not always on the healthiest of snacks I'm afraid to say) so I wasn't sure whether to be pleased or worried when I got weighed this morning and saw that the pounds had already started to creep on!
One thing I had been worrying about was ongoing cramps (nothing severe, just like mild period pains) and all manner of aches and twinges in that general area. I mentioned it to the MW though and she says its all normal and nothing to worry about, as long as it's not accompanied by bleeding. I know a few other people have posted about this so hopefully you've had similar reassurance.
Well, I'm meant to be working at home today but as you can see not much in the way of work is getting done! DH has done the same (we're both v lucky in having quite flexible jobs) but judging from the tapping sounds coming from upstairs he's having more luck than me....unless of course he is on Dadsnet!
