twinkle thats awful Sad how rude to look at somebody else's private notes.

Hi all, I posted a few weeks ago when I got my BFP. I had constant nausea for the past few weeks, felt really down about it but yesterday I didn't feel that sick, just a few times during the day , today is the same, even though I was wretching this morning I'm still worried at the lessening of the nausea. Im 7+4. Doesn't help that a friend rang me in tears last night having miscarried at 10 weeks Sad really stressed about it now. Im a teacher and being really cross today and I feel awful about that. Aggh if only I had my own little scanner at home WinkGrin

Persuasion · 11/12/2012 13:27

twinkle that's pretty horrible. Can you have a quiet word with her explaining that you didn't want people to know yet and asking her to keep secret?

magoo if you're still retching I really wouldn't worry that's not true, I would worry, but it would be silly, if you see what I mean symtpoms seem to change so often for so many people, as long as you have no pain or bleeding just try to stay positive. Sorry for your friend though, MC is so horrible. I'm already so attached to the baby, despite my best efforts, I'd be devastated.

I'm 11+1 today, a tiny bit of brown spotting but I had most of last week as leave from work, and think my uterus just doesn't like being woken and taken to work after a few days off!

ArkadyRose · 11/12/2012 13:43

orangebubbles Think that was me with the Aussie in-laws. Thankfully mine are highly unlikely to up sticks across the world for July, as they spent rather a lot on a big 3-month tour of the UK, Denmark & Sweden earlier this year & had a week with us in Wiltshire with their first grandchild so really won't have the funds to do it again next year for the second one. On the other hand, OH's birth mother (he was adopted at birth and tracked down his birth mother when he was 30) has been talking about visiting again so that doesn't rule out an Aussie invasion all together; we've not announced it to the family though & are keeping quiet until after the 12-week scan in Jan.

twinkle how appallingly rude of her to go rooting through your car without asking, let alone going through your notes! I'd have a word with her if I were you and point out she was out of order, and will she kindly keep whatever she found to herself. If it had been me I think I would have gone ballistic at her.

Hi everyone,

Sorry I haven't had chance to post for ages, been horrendously busy both at work and at home. Am counting the days until the christmas holidays so I can relax a bit.

Cotton glad to know I'm not the only one trotting to the bathroom a couple of times in the night, its driving me a bit nuts at the moment expecially as its so cold!

Magoosmum I'm really sorry to hear about your friend, thats really sad. Hope she's ok.

I had my booking in appointment yesterday, was exciting to have something happen but a bit frustrating the end as my midwife had to leave due to emergency towards the end and her replacement basically went through everything again. I was there forever! The earliest they can do my 12 week scan is the 4th January when I'll be nearly 14 weeks.

I'm thinking of doing a private scan now as I really wanted one before christmas, dp wants to tell his family then as we will be seeing them but I'm really nervous about doing so before I know everything is ok. Sounds stupid but as I've been lucky enough to not have any ms I'm just a bit paranoid that everything's not ok.

AmaDablam · 11/12/2012 15:29

Hello! Can I give a tentative wave and join in with you ladies (and gent)?!

I'm now 8+2 with DC1 and have been "lurking" for the past couple of weeks. Today I had my booking in appt with the MW so, although nothing much actually happened, I feel I've reached a bit of a milestone so feel ready to take the plunge and start joining in.

Really sorry to hear of all the sad stories that have already emerged on the thread. Obviously MC is going to be everyone's biggest fear, especially in these early days, but it is really reassuring to see that there is so much support from everyone if the worst does happen, and also that there are lots of people having (fingers very tightly crossed) healthy pregnancies relatively soon after going through a MC.

So far the first trimester seems to be treating me fairly kindly - enough symptoms to believe there might actually be a little person growing in there, but nothing too severe or debilitating. Like many others I'm finding the only way to keep the nausea at bay is constant munching (and not always on the healthiest of snacks I'm afraid to say) so I wasn't sure whether to be pleased or worried when I got weighed this morning and saw that the pounds had already started to creep on!

One thing I had been worrying about was ongoing cramps (nothing severe, just like mild period pains) and all manner of aches and twinges in that general area. I mentioned it to the MW though and she says its all normal and nothing to worry about, as long as it's not accompanied by bleeding. I know a few other people have posted about this so hopefully you've had similar reassurance.

Well, I'm meant to be working at home today but as you can see not much in the way of work is getting done! DH has done the same (we're both v lucky in having quite flexible jobs) but judging from the tapping sounds coming from upstairs he's having more luck than me....unless of course he is on Dadsnet!

So had my booking in, quite an anti climax - not sure why I thought it would be any different 4th time around!! apart from the vitamin D nothing has changed!!

Although midwife did tell me they have so many pregnant women at the moment (I am in North Kent) she couldnt work out what had happened in Sept/October to make there be such an influx but its remarkable apparently - not so good for the delivery suites come July!!!!

Dates were all good, so now just sit and wait 2 weeks for my scan - good job I have Christmas to keep me occupied!

cottonsock good luck for your scan tomorrow

9+4

dinkystinky · 11/12/2012 16:22

Twinkle - am aghast at the mum who rifled through your car and pulled out your notes. That's really not on!

Magoosmum - sorry to hear about your friend's MC. I understand it makes you more worried about your own pregnancy but hopefully you'll get reassurance soon that all is ok. As Persuasion said, symptoms are different for all of us and come and go for all of us too.

AmaDablam - welcome to the thread. I have to keep reminding myself that my body is doing extraordinary things now to prepare for the next 7 or so months so there's bound to be some strangeness going on with wierd aches and twinges in odd places.

Nothing much to report here - DS2 seems ok after his dash to A&E yesterday, DS1 is going christmas crazy at the moment (6 is a really lovely age!) and I'm looking forward to my scan on Thursday. Good luck for your scan tomorrow Cottonsocks.

BooStar · 11/12/2012 16:30

Hi all.
After 3 days now with absolutely no symptoms, feeling alert and well & exactly how I did with the MMC - I went for a scan at lunchtime feeling 90% sure it would be bad news.
But happy to say we saw a little bean with a strong heartbeat & measuring 2 days ahead of where I thought we were!!!
I'm so so relieved. So very very relieved!

bessie just re-read your post. Makes so much more sense that it was your DC2 in 2010! I must say I was quite horrified impressed at the thought of so many so close!

Good luck with your scan tomorrow cottonsock hope all goes well

Welcome amadablam - I've been having lots of twingey crampy feelings too, and I was also quite reassured by how many others on the thread had too - it seems its quite common. It's weird because I don't remember it with my DS.

twinkle can't believe how calm you're being about someone rooting through your car and reading your notes!! Even without the hormones that would set me off! I agree with persuasion that maybe you could have a word and ask her to keep quiet? Hopefully the guilt of being a snoop should shame her into silence!

On another note - I really didn't miss booze with my first pregnancy, we got our BFP on Boxing Day so all the revelry was over and I was still so excited by NYE that I didn't mind seeing the bells in with a cup of tea.
I'm not normally a big drinker so that helps but this time in the run up to Christmas I'm really craving mulled wine! It's the one drink I absolutely love!! Anyone have any suggestions for a non-alcoholic festive alternative?

Thinkingof4 · 11/12/2012 16:33

Aargh got my scan date through and it's Friday! I think because of holidays etc it was only time they can fit me in (in community hospital)
But I've had to ask work for a couple of hours off during Friday for hospital appt which has to happen within the next couple of weeks so I think they might twig what it's for. Haven't told anyone yet except one of my sisters so feel bad if work know before my family.
I'm suddenly really nervous about it too, symptoms not very strong this week, is it just placenta taking over or something else?? What a stress it is being pg!!
10+5

Grannyapple · 11/12/2012 16:37

Ah interesting, twirliedobbit I'm in SE London/Kent borders....I'm guessing its the Olympic effect Xmas Wink. Tho I remember when I had ds it was a similar situation...couldn't believe the no of women on the hospital tour...tho I was lucky enough to get a birthing suite when the time came...

Been gagging/retching a lot but not actually puked....changing the bins was quite a challenge!

Private scan on Saturday morning...can't come quick enough!

8 + 2 apparently...

AmaDablam · 11/12/2012 16:38

Thanks Dinky glad your DS2 is OK. I have 2 nephews, the eldest one is 6 and he was brimming over with excitement after going to his school Christmas fair on Friday, I agree it's a lovely age, although I do have a mega soft spot for the little one, who's 3, as well!

Just had to go and change into PJ's - normal-person jeans and expanding belly do not a good partnership make!

Good luck for your scan and everyone who has them coming up - mine won't be until 1st or 2nd week of Jan which seems an age away and can't really justify splashing out on going private for an early one.

AmaDablam · 11/12/2012 16:44

Ooh and thanks too, BooStar and great news on your scan!

chocolateteabag · 11/12/2012 16:51

Can someone please take me off the list?
Had my follow up scan this afternoon and it hasn't grown enough to be viable (was 3.8mm 2 weeks ago and only 4.2mm - should have been more like 7mm)
Now waiting for mother nature to take it's course Sad

Double bummer as I had my booking in apt this morning - could have saved my self 1.5 hoursSadSad

Good luck to everyone on the thread - was lovely to have been part of this group. Hopefully will be back on another one soon

CTBxx

SundaySunshine · 11/12/2012 16:53

Hi everyone, and welcome newbies Smile

I'm happy to say that I think I have finally turned a corner with this blasted ms, yay! Haven't actually been sick for 3 whole days, and only a little bit of retching. Even the nausea has lessened, so I actually managed to eat a couple of proper dinners (oh the relief) Grin

Good luck for your scan tomorrow cottonsocks, I've got mine on Thursday - I'm really terrified to be honest, so I'm going to distract myself with Christmas shopping until then Xmas Grin. Be interested to find out my due date so I can add myself to the list .

Hope everyone is feeling ok today.

Twinklestarstwinklestars · 11/12/2012 16:53

Thing is I know she'll gossip but we live in a town where everyone knows everyone and she could tell someone who we were going to tell at the weekend but the kids were always around so we were going to tell them next week as we're going out but now I need to go round before just in case. Would hate for them to hear it from her. I will 'officially' tell her last now and see if she mentions it. I realised after I went to the consultant yesterday and there was a hospital parking ticket in my window but I wasn't looking after her child then so none of her business where I was.

She's not mentioned it to me but I went out to the car this morning and noticed they'd been pulled out so she must have read them. I am absolutely fuming but at the moment I need the money but she will be given notice next may/June if I can last that long!

SundaySunshine · 11/12/2012 16:56

Have been absent for a couple days, my crazy class + school Christmas stress + sickness is killing me! The thread moves so quickly!

So sorry chocolate, hope you're back on a board soon. Sad

Empathy for those with #1 issues - it leaves me with a dilemma first thing in the morning when I need a wee just as much as I need to be sick! Ended up with a bowl in the bathroom... Sorry tmi...

Not sure of dates now as was up to a week behind at early scan, so somewhere between 8 and 9.

Bodice · 11/12/2012 18:22

Hi July baby mummies. Went for another scan on Monday after a week of worry and, as I had suspected, babies heart had stopped.
I knew it was coming as my last scan didn't look right despite having a heartbeat. As a sonographer, I have a natural instinct when things are going wrong so I had a week to prepare myself. My ever optimistic husband was devastated and I think after today I love him even more, if that is even possible.
I had a D&C today, of which I was terrified, but he has been my rock even though I think he found the experience harder - I just went to sleep. This is my second miscarriage so I think we will be having a few tests now. I think that they are unrelated and I have just been unlucky but it can't hurt. I know it will happen again. Getting pregnant doesn't seem to be my problem as I have conceived 50% of the cycles that we have tried. I am just praying the next one sticks around.
Thanks for all your lovely messages of support. Hopefully will be back on here soon.

chocteabag I'm so sorry to hear your news, I know there is nothing that can be said to make you feel better right now but look after yourself and give yourself some time. It's just bloody horrible. X

thinkingpositivethoughts · 11/12/2012 18:45

Ladies and Paulo,

My sincerest apologies if this is too much information for you but can we talk constipation? Suffering in quite a bad way and in need of top tips- I can't eat wheat so lots of wholegrain is out. The enormous poo belly is going to give me away and I need to keep this pregnancy under wraps until my scan in the new year!

Anyone else with the same experience!?

thinkingpositivethoughts · 11/12/2012 18:46

Oh bodice, you too. I'm so sorry.

Bodice · 11/12/2012 18:57
