We had our BFPs in November.

Welcome aboard ladies.

Let's do this Journey together.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AmelieRose · 08/01/2013 14:01

Hi ladies, not posted for ages but have been reading faithfully and catching up on everyone's progress.

I'm afraid I'm bowing out after a few uncertain weeks. Had my third scan on Christmas Eve and there was no heartbeat or growth from the previous scan, but the EPU wanted to make sure so went for another scan on January 3rd. In between I started to bleed, and scan confirmed partial miscarriage, so went into hospital for D&C yesterday.

Lots and lots of love and luck to everyone for healthy, happy pregnancies and lovely babies in August! Hopefully I'll be back on another thread soon.

Just had a strange 24 hours, think I need to move to the September thread... Thought I was 7+6, had light cramps and spotting yesterday. Got told to go to a&e- 4 hours later they had taken blood and told me to come back for a scan this morning. Went to early preg unit, nice lady told me my blood test showed low levels of progesterone and preg hormone and to prepare for the worst. Horrible hour waiting for scan and there was a little bean with a heartbeat- but looks like 6 weeks rather than nearly 8. I have dodgy cycles so makes sense- hoping it also explains the hormone levels. Been given a report to take to my booking app on Monday that will still go ahead despite it being early... Now trying to relax, spotting turned brown sorry tmi and hoping this means its about to stop and I can breathe again... Quietly hoping for the best, will wait before moving threads I'm scared to do anything don't want to jinx- anyone else had spotting?

FeministInTraining · 08/01/2013 14:13

So sorry amelierose, think I was writing my essay when you posted. Hope you're getting lots of support at home, this is a cruel game... Hope you get some better news soon xx

GaryBuseysTeeth · 08/01/2013 14:24

Rainbow, fingers are crossed for you.

Ameilierose, I am so sorry for your loss & that you've had a few tough weeks.
Hope you're recovering well & have a peaceful recovery.
Good luck for when you ttc again. x

Feminist, I had spotting (only one episode of it), back when I was 6wks, brown blood is 'good' so hopefully it's an easy ride for you from here.
Are you going for another scan soon-ish (NHS or private) to make sure all is well?

Foof, sorry it's a bittersweet day for you, I'm 9+3 and I don't really have any symptoms at all, I think the placenta starts doing stuff around now, which explains the energy boost & feeling better?

My booking is next Tuesday evening, looking forward to taking a grumpy 1 year old Hmm might ask for a rebook earlier in the day.

FoofFighter · 08/01/2013 14:34

So sorry AmelieRose, take care of yourselves, it's very shitty :(

And Feminist, fingers crossed for you, you are right bleeding doesn't always mean the end and brown blood is definitely better than red. Hopefully it's just a case of mixed dates and that everything will pootle along nicely from now on.

Gary, thank you :) I hadn't actually thought of that scenario

MrsPennyapple · 08/01/2013 15:30

Sorry to hear that AmelieRose, look after yourself and take some time to recover.

Foof I am 9+2 now and feeling similar to you - my last pregnancy ended in mc at 9 weeks but we only found out at 12 week scan. So now I'm sitting here hoping all is well in there, but I won't know until at least 3 weeks' time.

I have my booking-in appointment tomorrow but no scan date yet. I am struggling to find childcare for DD for tomorrow, it's looking like I might have to take her with me, which is far from ideal, but hey ho.

Yvonney · 08/01/2013 15:44

AmelieRose - sorry to hear ur news. Take care and I wish you all the best for 2013 Thanks

Rucknroll - I'm in Fife and was going to ask the same question abt private early scans. It seems a much more common thing to do these days. When I had my son 7 years ago it was hardly heard of. Can anyone give me an idea of how much an early scan costs? And from how many weeks can you go for one?
I phoned into work sick today, felt really crap all day, not moved from the settee Confused

7+1

RuckAndRoll · 08/01/2013 16:04

AmelieRose Take care of yourself, sorry to hear your news.

Yvonney These are the cheapest I've found with a quick google earlier early scans they'll do them from 8 weeks for £75. I've only looked in Edinburgh though. Part of me really wants to go, part of me says wait as I don't want to find out if it's bad news. Silly, I know.

LittleMissSnowShine · 08/01/2013 16:12

Amelie - Same thing happened to me in July. really sorry to hear you are going through this, look after yourself

Rainbowx - Any more news? Hope you are doing ok

Def pros and cons to having an early scan ruck & yvonney but good luck with whatever you decide xx

beckie90 · 08/01/2013 16:28

So sorry amelie wishing you all the best.

rainbox hope your scan has gone ok

Xx

beckie90 · 08/01/2013 16:43

feminist what did they say your hcg was? I had some early spotting (turned out fine though) and ny early scan put me back a whole week, but I have a very tilted womb it goes into my back and they just used abdo scan so think that could have played a part, as I have regular 28 day cycles I'm keeping to my date by lmp till dating scan, I think I could be knocked back by 2/3 days but not 1 whole week xx

MrsWajs · 08/01/2013 16:43

Sorry to hear your news amelierose :(

yvonney is perth too far to travel as i believe you could have an early scan there for about £35. Am trying to convince DP it's a bargain!!

CarriePie · 08/01/2013 16:47

So sorry to hear your news amelie life is so tough sometimes. Thoughts are with you xx

Snap yvonney my cold got the better of me. I am still in my pjs!

AmelieRose · 08/01/2013 17:14

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. It means a lot x

RainboxFX · 08/01/2013 17:23

Had scan, all well. Redated as 9+2 weeks. Wriggily baby and a heartbeat so bleeding probably nothing to worry too much about. I have been signed off work until 12 weeks as a precaution though.

Sorry for self centered posting! Has been a really long and stressful day. Will catch up soon, wishing everyone well xx

RainboxFX · 08/01/2013 17:24

And sorry to hear your news Amelie. Life is horrible at times. Fingers crossed for the future. Take care xxx

FoofFighter · 08/01/2013 17:25

Rainbox, you are entitled to self center, you've had a shocking day, I well remember the feelings.

Hope this works, very funny!

RuckAndRoll · 08/01/2013 17:26

That's really good to hear Rainbow and being off work for a few weeks is a nice bonus so your body can concentrate on keeping you both nice and healthy Smile

Sugarkane · 08/01/2013 17:28

Ruck This was the cheapest I could find when I was looking, didnt use them so cant comment on how good they are.

AmelieRose Really sorry xxx

Feminist Fingers tightly crossed

Noodles80 · 08/01/2013 17:31

Sorry to hear your sad news Amelie. I hope you have lots of people looking after you.

Does anybody else happen to suffer from thyroid problems? I have an under active thyroid and apparently this can cause some complications. Unfortunately I'm not home for a few weeks so will have to wait until I'm back for blood test to check my levels. I've asked for a telephone consultation in the meantime as I think it can all go a bit mad in the first few weeks and just want to see if I should be upping dosage. Feeling very tired which for me is usually a sign that I need to adjust medication but maybe this is just the pregnancy? Or maybe all the 15 hr days! Midnight here and just finished work for the day. 9 flights in the next week so perhaps its the thought of that making me tired!

beckie90 · 08/01/2013 17:32

rainbox thats brilliant news x

ScubaSarah · 08/01/2013 17:50

Amelie - I'm so sorry to hear your news. Hugs headed your way!
Rainbow - glad to hear all is well x

JollyToddles · 08/01/2013 17:54

Amelie, sorry to hear your news.

Rainbox - what a grim day, you need to rest now and take advantage of the time off!

EggyM · 08/01/2013 18:56

Amelie so sorry.
Rainbox glad you've found everything is ok.

How have people's first days back at work been? I am exhausted and have not enjoyed being sick in the horrible staff toilet. And then teaching noisy teenagers 10 minutes later.

Is anyone else showing yet? My stomach has suddenly bloated out 2 days ago - I'm sure someone at work will say something soon.

10+4
