Glad I am not the only sexy farting, constapated beast! I have had to put maternity trousers on today at nine and a half weeks just due to all the bloating!

I don't exactly have morning sickness, as I haven't actually been sick but I really feel run down, nauseated and tired. Anyone else the same?

TARATIDDLES · 06/01/2013 14:11

Hi all!

I think I am due around 22nd August. 1st scan booked in for 04 February. I Have had a dreadful cough & cold the last week & must be getting better as the nausea has now set in!

Argh. I feel dreadful. So tired, I think mainly because I have been kept awake for a week (so far) by inconsiderate & noisy neighbours. I digress! Sorry!

I am due in work tmrw but still coughing & gagging. The train journey tmrw is going to be hell. I just hope it just stays as nausea as I appreciate a lot of woman suffer terribly with actual sickness.

Any tips on Morning Sickness cures? I have fresh ginger as well as Ginger biccies! I plan on awaking early to ease myself up, & try & eat something plain!

Tx

Have to admit I think constant nausea can be just as debilitating as actually vomiting. I'm fine till around an hour after lunch then it hits till late evening.

Have stopped taking my folic acid and pregnacare as it's making the nausea so much more worse, am instead making sure I get lots of folic acid in my food, and having a couple of bowls of fortified cereal each day which has 100% of the rda folic acid in anyway.

CarriePie · 06/01/2013 14:27

Hi all
I've just got back from a private early scan and there was a lovely little heartbeat coming from a little jelly bean! So exciting.
Still haven't had my letter for my 12 week scan but have been promised a date by next week - fingers crossed.
I had to have a full bladder today and the nurse said it was too full so had to do the dreaded thing and "let half of it out!" Nightmare! Managed it okay though and you could really see the baby stretch out a little as it had more room- so cute.
Thoughts are with those with really bad sickness - I know I've been really lucky as I'm practically symptomless and basically feel normal.

Sugarkane · 06/01/2013 15:03

Gary, I had a 12 week scan on Friday, I repeatedly told everyone that although my dates were saying I was 12 weeks I knew I wasnt, no one listened and when I got to scan I was 9.5 weeks, they said they hadnt listened as they still do the scan in case you are wrong and miss the right time. As a result though they couldnt do anything, not even give me a EDD so I am now waiting for my 2nd 12 week scan appointment.

Is there anyone else the opposite of constipated? TMI I just cant get off the toilet in the evening. Like most I am also having sleeping problems, can and often do have an afternoon nap atm but come bedtime I lie awake for hours just trying, then I cant get up in the morning.

Im having supply problems at the minute, I am still feeding DS2 and hope to for some time yet, but my supply has really dwindled and he is becoming fussy on the boob, I cant remember if this happened with my supply while feeding DD1 when I was pregnant with DS1 but hoping this will pass soon.

TotallyEggFlipped · 06/01/2013 19:37

I'm definitely in the constipated and farty camp. Grin

I've been sleeping really badly too - awake several times a night, sometimes for a pee, sometimes not, and wide awake between about 4 and 6. I remember this happening last time. I wonder if it's got prepare you for the crap sleep you get with a newborn. It just seems so cruel - we should all be getting as much sleep as we can, and it's only going to get worse as bumps get in the way too! Luckily DH is letting me have a bit of a lie in. When DD wakes up I bring her into our bed until DH wakes up, then he takes her upstairs and I have a power nap.

I'm starting to feel a bit less nauseated now I think (apart from a bad couple of hours yesterday). My appetite is definitely improving. I've figured out that crisps don't make me feel sick at all, which is odd because I never usually eat crisps. Still finding it hard to figure out what I want to eat though. Last time I was craving sweet things all the time. This time it's definitely more savoury.

Sugar I'm sure I've seen threads on BF during pregnancy. They'll probably be able to offer you some support & advice if you can find them.

wavesandsmiles · 06/01/2013 19:38

Evening everyone Smile I am back from my holiday and pleased to be back in my own home, although dreading work tomorrow! I am ridiculously tired and still suffering quite badly with the fainting/dizziness effects of low blood pressure. Sickness sets in evening time, although the nausea most of the day is pretty naff.

I still don't have a date for my scan - by dates I am 11 weeks today, but I am pretty sure that will change once I have the scan due to the fact I always had long cycles before I had the coil, and only 1 visit from AF following its removal before I got my BFP. However, I do have my next antenatal appointment now - which is the 16 week one (going on dates), for 13 February.

I could really really do with having more idea of my EDD - I do regular gigs and also have lots of wedding bookings for the summer. Although I know that babies don't arrive as scheduled, it would help me plan a bit more and get back to some brides to be with some confirmation about whether I can play for them. Also trying to line up subs for regular gigs and potentially some weddings in case I am out of action earlier or later than expected!

Is anyone else having weird dreams/nightmares? I keep waking myself (and DH) up yelling in the middle of the night.

FoofFighter · 06/01/2013 20:05

Well I am thinking I made the right decision for me to stop taking the vits/FA - I've actually eaten PROPER FOOD and PROPER MEALS not just lived on toast/bread and butter - I imagine this cannot be a bad thing for the baby! Still had a bit of nausea at the usual time mid afternoon but it had gone by tea time and am only getting the odd wave coming over.
feeling 100% better already :)

Good luck for those heading back to work tomorrow, I've been working all over Xmas apart from the main days and have been thankful I work alone for the majority of my working day as I haven't been feeling particularly sociable Blush

FoofFighter · 06/01/2013 20:26

Just given in and ordered a soft maternity bra from the NCT shop online - their prices are really good I thought. I shall be sat by my letterbox until it comes!

MrsPennyapple · 06/01/2013 20:32

Foof I'm glad you're feeling better, and that you're eating proper meals. Like you said, that can only be a good thing.

I've amazed myself by buying some fruit and actually eating it! It occurred to me that if I chop it up and have it with a bit of cream or yoghurt, I can pretend it's pudding! I do like fruit, I just never fancy it, so I really have to mkae myself eat it. I reckon the pudding plan is a winner. Disappointed with the plums though, they are horrid. Also, I'm astonished that raspberries are £3.25 a punnet. I did not buy them.

CarriePie I am 9+0 today too!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 06/01/2013 21:05

Hiya, overdid it today hefting big baskets of things about, and I had a bit of pink bleeding, seems to have stopped now but keeping an eye on it. I mc the last one in November so I'm cross with myself for overdoing it and causing this bleeding which makes me worry that it's another mc. I'm sure it isn't, though. I just shouldn't have been lifting large wooden dolls houses. Blush Doctors appointment tomorrow to get on the system and arrange a scan. Really want to see a healthy baby this time. Asap!

OxfordToLondoner · 06/01/2013 22:03

I've been told that ASOS maternity skinnies are fab.

Am lying in bed teary eyed worrying about 12 week scan...why do we do this to ourselves?!

DH is also getting rather affectionate (despite me resembling a walrus)...grrrrr.

10 + 1

RuckAndRoll · 06/01/2013 22:17

I bought some trousers in the next January sale, one of the few places that do tall maternity and you don't need a mortgage for!
booking in tomorrow with midwife. is it all just form fillings, pee in a pot and bloods or do they do an internal as well?
slightly worrying I've eaten normal meals today with next to no nausea.

Stopsittingonyoursister · 06/01/2013 22:18

James I think I have overdone it today as well - Sunday School, kids party 12.30 - 2.30 and then came home and cooked Sunday casserole whilst cleaning and hoovering the house ready for back to school tomorrow - bump now feels decidedly achy and sore. Just resting it on the sofa with a cup of tea and a piece of almond tart (for medicinal purposes, obv!)

Not looking forward to early mornings again tomorrow. We got ourselves into a lovely routine over the holidays of the kids coming in to bed with us at about 6.30/7 and watching cbeebies and chatting until 7.30 and then having lazy breakfast in our PJs before we got dressed about 9-ish. Tomorrow we have to be up dressed breakfasted and out of the house by 8.15 at the latest to get DS to school on time. Ugh!!

Thank you for all the recommendations on mat jeans, I am off to investigate!

CarriePie · 06/01/2013 22:22

Aah oxford try not to be teary, we're all here to hold your hand.
The day we booked our early scan I lay awake all night convinced there would be nothing in my tummy. But sure enough today I saw a teeny little flicker of a heartbeat.
I know I'll get all worried again in the lead up to the 12 week scan too!!
Plus we have told EVERYONE now so it's making it very real!
Good luck to all of you with appts and scans coming up!
penny my early scan estimated 8 weeks 6 but I'm sticking with my 9+0 until my 12 week scan (even though its only 1 day so really doesn't matter!!)

Hello everyone. I'm on holiday now, but its being ruined by constant nausea. For those of you with mega ms, I've just been given some Maxolon tablets by the dr. Seem to help me feel less sick and able to think about food without gagging.

Really looking forward to this being over and very very glad I'm not at work right now.

Briarrosy · 06/01/2013 22:35

I'm now 10+1 (snap, OxfordtoLondoner!) and nausea seems to have disappeared today, happy to eat near enough anything, yay! I think it's near enough the end of the first trimester to be waning now?! Or maybe it will come back tomorrow with avengance when I start work...

southportmum · 06/01/2013 22:39

Hi all,

Got a BFP last week, my story straight forward but long story cut short since Nov 2011 had 4mcs.

Been put on 75MG asprain and so far so good. Taking every day as it comes. Not seen a doctor yet however basic dd calculations show Aug 31st.

Stopsittingonyoursister · 06/01/2013 23:00

I can report back, having selflessly investigated the ASOS website on behalf of us all, that there is currently what seems to me to be an excellent sale on maternity clothes - basic tops down to £7, jeans from £15 and some really lovely dresses that would go with leggings at around £15 - £20 . Have ordered myself lots a few items to check them out.

Welcome southportmum FX that all goes well for you this time around.

carriepie congratulations on the positive scan.

FoofFighter · 06/01/2013 23:48

jUST HAD A LOOK, THEY ONLY DO UPTO 16 :( BOO!

oops caps sorry!

Just been looking at New Look for cheap work trousers and have to say am quite impressed at their range of maternity wear (hands off my bump tops not withstanding!!)

southportmum, welcome :) you are probably the last newbie we will have now unless there is anyone else lurking?? come out come out wherever you are....!

littlecupcake · 07/01/2013 06:51

Morning all!

Been following but not posting much due to incredible nausea and cold that lasted the duration of the school holidays.

First day back to work today for me, and I know lots of people have said it's their first day back, too. Just wondered how many of you are teachers (like me)? I reckon there are at least three or four on here!

Good luck to everyone going back to work today, hope being busy distracts us from the MS, rather than the MS distracting us from work.

Hey ladies, I've got my booking appointment later on, its all changed since I had mine with ds2 in august 2010, they come out to my house then, but have to go to local hospital this time, so does anyone know if you find out your dating scan then or do they post it? I recieved mine through post with ds1&2 but my booking in was a lot earlier than this ds1- 7.5wks & ds2 just short of 7wks

Well my nausea and sickness seems to have settled down alot which am happy about, still so tired and dizzy, could sleep for a whole week. Extremely bloated so I look at least 5 months preg, which is a shock as I only looked 3 months preg at full term with ds1&2 got a feeling I'm gonna be huge this time

9+5 (less according to early scan, but sticking to date by lmp till dating scan, as early scan was 5 days wrong with ds1)

RuckAndRoll · 07/01/2013 13:05

beckie It totally depends on your area, I phoned the midwife when I got the BFP and got appointments made there and then for the scan and booking in. Sorry, not much help!

I'm just back from my booking in appointment, the midwife is lovely, problem is she's going on maternity leave in 3 weeks so I'll be getting a different one from my next appointment. I was hoping she would send me for an early scan as I've been in so much pain, but she's told me to go to the GP first.

Came home with best part of a forest in leaflets, booklets, and a huge book. Will keep my quiet for a bit reading through it all.

Foof, I hate those 'funny' bump slogan tshirts! I had £30 of Mothercare vouchers last time for me & ended up buying slippers as every top had something on it.
Next maternity is ok, so is the Matalan & George at Asda stuff.

beckie, mc pg (nov 2012) I got my scan&booking date in the same letter, this pregnancy I've had my scan date for a few days but not had a booking letter yet so I guess it's really random.
Rebooked my scan from 9+5...it's now 13+5.

Congrats on the scan Carrie!
Glad booking went well Ruck, although whatever you do don't sign up for Emma's Diary or Bounty pack stuff, you'll have random emails & junk mail for the rest of your life!

Welcome southport, fingers crossed all goes well for you this time around. x

9+2.

RuckAndRoll · 07/01/2013 13:55

Thanks Gary will remember that, no sign of bounty yet and apparently they don't have access to the hospital in Edinburgh so won't get harassed after birth. Was looking at the Emmas Diary stuff wondering if it's the same junk stuff.

Hope everyone's ok back at work. I've been back since last Wednesday so took today on annual leave so I wasn't stressing trying to hide the time off for the appointment.
