We had our BFPs in November.

Welcome aboard ladies.

Let's do this Journey together.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PurpleDana · 04/01/2013 19:00

I had an early scan the other day and only managed to drink less than 500ml of water due to my sickness, but it was enough, no problem seeing little bean :-) So don't worry about drinking til u fit to burst!
Before I even got my BFP I was ballooning out! Just before breaking up for xmas the girls at work asked if I was sure I was only 5/6wks! None of my clothes fit me! But then at Xmas the sickness hit and I have lost a lot of that bulge. Although I am definitely bigger still and the shape under my belly button is weird.

LexiLoganberry · 04/01/2013 19:08

Totally Congratulations on your scan.

I've wondered if my dates might get brought forward, because I had a odd cycle after mc and not sure when I ovulated and then the af which followed was so abnormally light and short that when I got my bfp I wondered if it was af at all or a possible implantation bleed, my mind is always ticking away thinking of different thing to threat about.

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/01/2013 19:26

Glad it went well, Sugarkane.

Mayanbob that sounds great. I've never had a pea fritter, am I missing out? I can't face fruit or veg at the moment. I've always loved fruit and eaten loads, but I'm finding it too sweet at the moment. I'm probably going to get scurvey at this rate!

TotallyEggFlipped · 04/01/2013 19:28

Lexi fingers crossed it was an implantation bleed and you're further along than you thought! Smile

sunflowerlady · 04/01/2013 19:30

mayanbob that just made me heave! Lol!! Enjoy it.

Mayanbob · 04/01/2013 20:31

Sorry sunflower please forgive me. Smile

eggflipped love the pea fritter. Only the finest cuisine down South anything that means I didn't have to cook however had to de fritter the pineapple due to it Just being too gross, as is also the smell of toast fir some reason. But pea fritter is fine Confused) If you're finding fruit too sweet try smoothies with whatever plus celery. Just takes the sweetness off and tastes 'fresh' rather than celery-y (for me anyhow)
lexi you sound exactly like me. I thought my af was exactly that until it stopped and I did a test and was BFP (well not so much BFP as very faintly P), still the 5 or so tests I've done since still keep me hopeful.
I reckon that my dates will change to be less though. 6weeks rather than the 8 estimated by doc at the moment)

So good to hear about all these scans. I am so impatient!!!

I am also sending this from the bath which is about the only place in the world my boobs are comfortable.

RuckAndRoll · 04/01/2013 21:00

myanbob I know that feeling. sat at work today and found myself absent mindedly rearranging my boobs. luckily the guys I work with were oblivious!
hot baths are an amazing invention!
glad to see other people are having cravings/eating strange food. last night I was desperate for ice lollies and jelly - emergency supermarket dash was required.

CarriePie · 04/01/2013 21:21

I'm with you on the strange food thing - I have eaten 4 massive punnets of grapes in 5 days. I just cannot stop eating them. A bit like I would usually scoff chocolates but I just don't fancy any chocolate. All the Christmas chocolates are still all in tact. And they don't normally last longer than a day!!

Jollymummy2 · 04/01/2013 21:21

I'm finding it amazing that something the size of a walnut can have such an effect! This is number 4 for me and I still can't get my head around it Shock

I had a need for honey roast parsnips today, so had a plate full for lunch! Hubby thinks I'm crazy and can't possibly be having cravings already, he remembers the midnight supermarket trips from previous pregnancies all too clearlyWink

So glad I'm not the only one to NEED random food stuff.

Sugarkane · 04/01/2013 22:21

The only midnight supermarket dashes my dp has had to do so far, is for heartburn tablets, knew I was preg when it started, only ever have it when preg.

Number 4 here too and up until seeing baby donut (doughnut) today I really wasnt believing it

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 04/01/2013 22:53

I hate this stage! Anyone else feeling like poo? (Disclaimer: These aren't real problems, not hyperemesis or anything, just having a whinge!) I don't ever know what I want to eat, I don't fancy anything but I get so ravenous, feel sick 24/7 whether I'm hungry or just eaten, and I'm really thirsty but gone off coffee and cocoa so I'm really missing hot drinks (and caffeine) i feel like death. All I can have is hot blackcurrant squash, and I really want a lemsip as I'm full of a cold but can't have those either! Ffs.

I'm on my 3rd coldsore in a row (my classic pg sign, last time I had 13 in a row) my eczema has gone crazy since my bfp, oh and I have thrush. Sad

Also weirdly, since becoming pg, every time I eat cereal my lips temporarily swell, no matter which cereal I eat. What the hell is that about?? Never usually happens. Confused

Moan over! lol

OxfordToLondoner · 04/01/2013 22:56

I wonder if Princess Kate is on the July thread under a pseudonym?! Or maybe there's a members only Aristocraticmumsnet?

FoofFighter · 04/01/2013 23:13

James, could it be the milk rather than the cereal?

I have felt permanently hungover since pretty much the BFP so that's almost a month solid now. I am suffering with insomnia for a week, then sleep monster for a week, boobs hurt like buggery and even wake me in the night when i do sleep (as does the peeing) The nausea is permanent pretty much aside from ten mins post eating something, I am being haphazard with my pregnacare and folic acid as they make me feel so much sicker probably as not getting a full stomach to take them on so am guilt tripping about that too and I am bloated and constipated and none of my clothes fit or feel comfy.

OH can't seem to grasp quite how awful I feel and comments about tea not being ready etc are NOT helping!

But...

I am relishing every minute as lost my last baby so am determined to NOT moan.

LexiLoganberry · 05/01/2013 10:25

Totally It would be nice just, I'm only 6+5, I've know I'm pregnant for 2 weeks amd 3 days but it feels like I've know for months, times really dragging.

Mayanbob I wish I'd done a test then but I assumed it was a just a messed up cycle from the early mc.
I ordered some pregnancy tests about a week ago because the cramping was corncerning me and they arrived yesterday, so I tested this morning and it came up really quickly with pregnant 3+ weeks, so that nicely reasurring.

James Sorry your not feeling well Sad

EggyM · 05/01/2013 10:27

James I know your feeling - I seem to be lucky in that my nausea has almost gone at 10 weeks (after losing over half a stone in the last few weeks!) but still just not sure what to eat - I have completely gone off eggs that were my favourite food and seem to be craving sausage rolls and angel delight over the past couple of days (yuck!) I am so tired that cleaning the house yesterday meant that I had to be sick and then have a nap. Dreading going back to work on Monday. My eczema has also flared up. And I can't even have a hug from my husband because my boobs hurt so much.

BUT as fooffighter I am actually thankful for every symptom as also lost last pregnancy so all symptoms must be good. Congrats to everyone having scans on here - so impatient for mine in 2 weeks so I can hopefully know everything is ok.

Oh and hello to all the other bucks people!

Mayanbob · 05/01/2013 11:23

James , Foof hope you feel better soon!

and congrats Lexi on your 3+ test Smile

Sorry if TMI, but is anyone suffering with constipation?... I don't mind it so much when i'm at home, but the idea of having to 'take my time' whilst at work is just not great. I am eating my fruit and veg, (mostly not in fritter form), brown bread, fruit and fibre cereal (even though that tastes gross and makes me want to vom), am fairly active... what else can I do?!

FoofFighter · 05/01/2013 11:35

Plenty of water mayanbob, orange juice? prunes?

chocolatesolveseverything · 05/01/2013 11:40

Sorry to hear about everyone's grottiness, but I guess it makes me feel a bit more normal!

I go up and down throughout the day, but've forgotten what it feels like to be truly 'well' I think. Yes to constipation (sorry Mayan, no tips!), yes to nausea and dizziness. And to top it off, I seem to be coming down with a cold now too...

Not looking forward to work next week. I've got used to lying down whenever I feel too bad, but that might be difficult in the office Hmm.

Other developments are that my waist is continuing to slowly grow (DH is convinced he can feel a small bump), and I'm intrigued to think what my new bra size will be after I get measured this afternoon. And has anyone noticed an increase in their heart rate? I think it's because of the extra blood in my system, but I had to make several trips up to our top floor (45 steps) carrying boxes yesterday and can't believe how much I could feel my heart pumping with the effort - felt really unfit!!!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 05/01/2013 12:10

Mayanbob try Lactulose, it's essential good to have in for your first post birth poo anyway, and safe to use in pregnancy. I've been constipated too, since eating lots of plain dry things to calm down the nausea.

Chuckaluck · 05/01/2013 12:18

Very constipated here! Only things I cam say are avoid toast! I read it on the nhs website and it really works! Also orange juice with bits! Still getting it but not as bad!

RuckAndRoll · 05/01/2013 12:35

Hi Everyone.

I was hoping one of you who've done all this before could give me a bit of advice. What sort of level of 'stretching', cramping, discomfort is normal in the abdomen? I didn't sleep last night as it kept waking me up hurting, I just don't want to over-react if it's just things stretching and moving out of the way.

For the constipation, try fybogel - it's safe to use.

Hope everyone has a good day

LexiLoganberry · 05/01/2013 13:09

Yes to constipation, I was going to ask my midwife if I could get some lactulose when I see her 10 whole days away.

Ruck No advice on what is normal but thought I'd let you know that I was having alot of cramping, for me it was stronger than period pains, it's less frequent now but I regularly woke in pain in the night, I was taking paracetamol and used one of those wheat bags that you heat up in the microwave or a hot water bottle. I was concerned I was miscarrying again but I tested this norming and got a quick 3+ result.

Sorry that this doesn't help just wanted you to know that your not the only one, other posters also told me that they are cramping too, hope they ease off soon for you.

ruthietoothie · 05/01/2013 14:16

On constipation, I'd recommend getting some prunes in and having a daily dose of 6-9! Does seem to help and completely natural. Lactulose also does the trick though pretty unpleasant to drink and so may not help nausea,

I've been having a fair few cramps, and also some stabbing pains in abdomen. Don't know if I'm right in this but just trying to think if no bleeding then best not to worry, though think really sharp pains causing severe discomfort probably worth a quick call to m/wife (maybe)

Chuckaluck · 05/01/2013 14:19

I have been getting some nasty cramps, some that stop me in my tracks. I asked the midwife and ruthie, u are right, she said as long as no bleeding then nothing to worry about. She said it is the stretching and muscles relaxing. I also thought it could be due to the constipation!!!

beckie90 · 05/01/2013 14:28

RUCK I get them everyday, like start of labour all in my back and tummy, my other 2 wasn't as painful, but I've had a scan due to bleeding and baby is fine so think they can get quite intense at times and it be quite normal xx
