Welcome aboard ladies.

Let's do this Journey together.

Chuckaluck · 26/12/2012 20:30

Hi ladies, congrats to all the new BFPs! We told my parents and DH parents - loved their responses! Although for some reason, I feel really paranoid now about something going wrong. Am 8+5 and got no reason to believe anything is wrong but symptoms seem to have subsided a bit over last few days. Hadn't been sick but been getting nausea and thats gone (might just be because i have eaten so much Xmas Wink) although boobs still massive and hurting! Think I am just over thinking things! Am back to work tomorrow so that will take my mind of overthinking!!!!

OxfordToLondoner · 26/12/2012 22:30

Hello ladies. I hope I'm not too late to the party. I've finally plucked up courage to look at the 'what to expect at 8 weeks' stuff, and buy some maternity wear in the sale (desperately hoping that I won't have to use the 28 days refund). This is my 3rd pregancy this year - after 2 mIscarriages at 7 weeks I'm feeling more positive this time - I had a 7 week scan and all was well. Am starting to feel all emotional and weepy about having an actual baby to look forward to, rather than anxious. Maybe it was the Christmas 'Call the Midwife' that has set me off. Anyhow, I'm really chuffed to join your thread, and start to feel like this could actually be it...this time.

FoofFighter · 26/12/2012 22:38

Ahhh Christmas bfps, what lovelier gift could you hope for :) congratulations!

Managed to get through yesterday without too much fuss re drinking, consoled myself with the cheese board instead!

Scan tomorrow first thing.... am very tired but cannot seem to sleep, really hoping things are ok with the baby, things with OH aren't too good just now and I could do with the reassurance cause am not getting much from him irght now [sigh]

nicnic79 · 26/12/2012 23:12

hello im 9+6 still waiting to hear off the midwife ,, getting xcited that i could have my scan soon. morning sickness has calmed down alot. starting to feel pregnant its good ... had a great christmas hope everyone else did too .. this weeks complaint though is that i can cry at drop of a hat lol very emotional at times

MrsPennyapple · 26/12/2012 23:20

Congratulations, new BFPs!

Oxford, glad you're feeling positive. You know what they say, third time's a charm! Really pleased for you.

Foof Sorry your OH isn't giving you the support you need just now. Will be thinking of you at your scan tomorrow. I don't have a date for mine yet but I already feel nervous about it, rather than excited.

Silver I think I'd go to both. Just so that wherever you end up being when it's time, they know you and have your details.

It was just DP, DD and I for Christmas Day so no problem dodging the booze. We went to PIL's this evening for dinner and for DD to open her presents from them. There was one bottle of wine between six adults, and we got there about 3pm, so I just mumbled something about it being a bit early for me, and it was polished off pretty quickly so no trouble there either. (The food was pretty shocking though. Sorry, but it was.)

Hi All, hope you all had a happy Christmas? Congrats on all the new BFPs!

Silver if it were me (and I am a great one for organisation) I would go to the scan where you are likely to actually give birth - I just don't trust that all my notes etc would be transferred across, and I wouldn't want any confusion later on! But I appreciate your dilemma - hope you get something sorted out soon.

Congrats Gary and Beckie90 on the positive scans. Good luck for tomorrow Foof*.

We told my parents and DH's parents on Christmas Eve - everyone very happy, thank goodness. Also told DSis and DBiL who were very gracious, and were very happy for us, but I did feel a bit like I was kicking in them in the teeth when they have just decided to put off trying for a second whilst they get DNiece sorted out. Anyways, full steam ahead now to the 21st Jan for the scan, and fx everything is OK.

We had a lovely Christmas. Managed to cook Christmas dinner for 7 without feeling at all sick. My nausea is evening sickness, definitely not morning sickness. Had a lovely walk with DH, my parents and the kids - I bought DH an adult micro scooter for Xmas, so he was scooting with the kids, which he loved! The comments about not lifting anything heavier than an apple have already started from my DM though!!

Hope everyone else has had a lovely Christmas. Does anyone have any New Year plans? We are staying at home with the kids and a Thai takeaway, and Graham Norton on the TV, followed by a walk at the coast on New Year's Day to blow the cobwebs away. I love this time of year!!

MrsPennyapple · 26/12/2012 23:57

A That takeaway? I want a Thai take away! OMG I would kill for Tom Yum Gai right now!

MrsPennyapple · 27/12/2012 00:00

Obviously that was supposed to say Thai, not That. Just been on Amazon and found out they sell galangal, so I can make my own soup!

Silver15 · 27/12/2012 01:15

Monthly, MrsPenny and Stopsitting, thank you all for your responses. I think I will go to both to make sure that all is covered.

Merry Christmas ladies! Hope you've all have a peaceful time.

Has anyone had any bleeding? I've had some today, just waiting now to go into the early pregnancy unit. Please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Yvonney · 27/12/2012 12:59

I hope everything is ok Mrshende x
Had a lovely Christmas, apart from DS waking at 1am & 5am to see if Santa had been! Told my SIL and her boyfriend and they were really pleased. Still got that hangover feeling everyday. My DH dayshift on 1st Jan so having a quiet hogmanay, prob takeaway and bottle of Shloer Wink Going to my mums new years day so will prob tell her then. Not sure how she'll react as I've had few health probs so I know she'll worry. Also age gap of new baby and our son will be nearly 8 years. It's my birthday tomrw, I'll be well and truely into late 30's!!! Sad
Good luck to everyone with scans xxx

Room for a small one??? Just got a BFP today after 2 months TTC. Completely shocked as the bean was clearly conceived immaculately!! Due date according to Dr Google is 30th August. :)

FoofFighter · 27/12/2012 14:24

Grin We have a heartbeat!!! Little Peanut measuring 9mm so bang on for size apparently. Does anyone know the mc rate one you seen a heartbeat at 7 weeks? I hope it's good % for successful pregnancy...

I didn't realise how tense I was till I came out and the weight of the world just lifted, could actually feel it happening :) took myself right up to the doctors to book in, so that is on 10th Jan then went out for lunch and shopping and bought a babygro and some cotton swaddling blankets in TKMaxx Blush Yes way too early I know but I just wanted to make it real.

Yvonney, 8 year gap is nothing - mine will be ummm 19 between this one and the next one up! Shock and 22 for the oldest!

FoofFighter · 27/12/2012 14:24

Mrshende, I hope all is good with you x

FoofFighter · 27/12/2012 14:28

Welcome mrswajs :) I reckon you'll be one of the last ones in for August then :)

Monthly - I saw a poster in the EPU for one called readysteadybaby, not looked though.

RuckAndRoll · 27/12/2012 14:37

foof that's great Grin

monthlywishes I've got the babycentre app on my android phone, it's good and synchs up with the website and emails as well. Also if you're in Scotland get 'Ready Steady Baby' the NHS's app. It's not the best but gives you local info.

We've told both sets of parents and siblings. I can't lie to my Mum when I see her so had to tell her, which meant we had to tell PIL as well. We then realised the other day that our scan date is SILs due date. SIL is very much 'me me me' and if we announced anywhere near her due date she would flip out so siblings now know as well but it's stopping there until after the 12 weeks scan.

Quite an easy Christmas for me hiding it, I don't drink anyway due to other medical problems and am a really fussy eater normally (and DH was cooking).

Hope everyone's doing ok Smile

RuckAndRoll · 27/12/2012 14:39

x-post foof that's the NHS Scotland app. The website is really good though website

wavesandsmilesatSanta · 27/12/2012 16:38

Congrats to everyone on the reassuring early scans, so glad it has made everything a little easier for you. Foof I hope that OH is being supportive now?

Yvonney - my DD will be just under 8 when LO is due, also feeling a bit overwhelmed about the age gap, mostly as I am worried that it will be a shock to the system, especially as there are only 17 months between DS and DD! Happy birthday for tomorrow as well Smile

Still nauseous here, and fainting a lot. Trying to drink gallons of water to counteract the low bp, but not helping too much at the moment Sad

Anyone have any plans for new year?

Ditsy79 · 27/12/2012 17:32

MrsHende: hope all is okay.
I have my booking-in appointment next Wed, think it'll feel more real after that. Am now 8+5. Still feeling (but not being) sick, sleeping a bit better now. Only problem is I think I've caught the lurgy from someone over Xmas - dreading having a stinking cold and not being able to take anything other than paracetamol for it!
Think we will tell friends etc after the appointment next week, am finding it really hard keeping it secret (so far only told our parents).
Quiet new year's eve this year - don't feel like going out and watching everyone else get drunk!

GaryBuseysTeeth · 27/12/2012 20:57

Welcome all the newbies!

Had my prebooking appointment today, same Dr as when I had a mc, she looked very puzzled to have me back & threw a Xmas Hmm face when I said I got pg without a period in between, she said if I hadn't of already gone for the early scan she would've referred me for one so I could be dated correctly.

New Year will be Thai takeaway & trashy films with best mate, DH working (as always!) & it's never been a big thing for anyone I know, how about you waves?
Stop, walk on the coast sounds lovely! We've got a bit of woodland nearby which is always nice to venture into.

Congrats on positive scan news Beckie & Foof!
Oxford, well done on being so positive & getting a good scan result. I splashed out on a pregnancy magazine t'other day to get my positive mindset going.

Lexi, you & I are in the same boat (5wk mc at the end of Oct) & I've been waking up every morning with terrible cramps...even had some nice rib pain thrown in today. Hope you get someother symptoms soon to soothe your worrying.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Yvonney!

Wishing you good luck & positive thoughts Hende, hope all is well. x

MrsPennyapple · 27/12/2012 21:00

Congrats MrsWajs!

Great news Foof!

FoofFighter · 27/12/2012 21:36

NYE - supposed to be going out, have tickets, but its going to be VERY hard to hide not drinking with our friends and they will instantly know why, I do though hope they will remember what happened last time and keep their thoughts to themselves...!
