We had our BFPs in November.

Welcome aboard ladies.

Let's do this Journey together.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

So sorry diy... Best of luck for future ttc.

But hello to the latest newcomers. Having been on here a couple of weeks I feel like a bit of an old timer now. Smile

I seem to have settled down to a regular pattern of generally feeling grotty, tired and nauseous. On Friday I had a day off and tried to give the house a thorough clean before our Christmas party. However, had to keep having a lie down in between dusting and hoovering because I felt dizzy. Needless to say the house wasn't quite as spotless by the end of this as planned! But party was great, and the beauty of being hostess meant that it was easy for me to keep topping up my glass of Shloer in secret whilst popping in and out the kitchen. Xmas Grin

To those whose midwife appointments are taking an age to come through, I'd recommend ringing the midwives service direct just to check they have your GP referral. Mine still didn't after a fortnight, but had no trouble with booking me in then and there over the phone.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 17/12/2012 21:38

diy, so sorry to hear your news. I hope everything is over without any complications & whenever you're ready to start ttc again your sticky bfp comes quickly.

beckie, is there anyway you can get a private scan before then? Really sorry you have to go through this & they won't see you.

chocolate, smooth move with the drink!

Oh Love, is the field you work in something that you might be able to find work elsewhere/work for the same company but a different location?
I used to work (loved my job) somewhere I shared an officer with over 40 people, over 250 worked in the building but I didn't make one friend (unless you count meeting DH there), it sucks being lonely at work!

Sunflower, I'm not one of these women that 'glow' during pregnancy at all! So you're not alone..although hopefully we'll all have Loreal advert worthy hair soon (before it all falls out again after babies arrive)!

PurpleDana · 17/12/2012 21:42

sparkle and chuck - what's this about high bmi?? I have put on an incredible amount of weight already and I'm only 4+6. Almost 2 sizes in trousers! Should I be worried about it? Is it a sign of pregnancy diabetes? :-/

TiredofZombies · 17/12/2012 21:55

So sorry to hear that diy. I hope it goes quickly and easily, and you're ready to try again soon.

Chocolate, genius move with the Schloer!

FoofFighter · 17/12/2012 22:11

Purpledana, that'll be bloating rather than a weight gain as such, wouldn't worry :)

DIY so sorry for your loss Thanks be gentle to yourself x

People with a high bmi here get an appointment with the consultant and also with the anaesthetist as routine as more likely to need intervention.

Early scan is booked for 27th Dec due to mmc in April - at least I can get Xmas done with before potentially getting any bad news but feel the next 9 days are going to draaaaaggggggg.

Stopsittingonyoursister · 17/12/2012 23:18

Sorry to hear your news diy, take care of yourself.

Love sorry to hear you are feeling so down. Do you have any sort of employee counselling service that could help you? Could you change your hours so that you start early (and DP do the nursery run) but then finish early and spend time with your DC in the afternoon? Hormones can make everything seem impossible, but be kind to yourself and get some support xx

I got my 12 week scan date through today - 21st Jan which is aaages away!! Am v tired at the moment, and could not stop weeping at Sports Personality of the Year yesterday - they all just tried so hard and were so earnest and everything, I just bawled!

I am predicting that this bean is a boy - got evening sickness again, which I had with DS but not with DD. And my trousers are already feeling snug, although that could be because of the mahoosive bloat and the three packs of crisps I am currently eating per day to try and stave off the evening sickness. I have found eating little and often helps to keep my blood sugars more even, and if I can combine that with a brief nap on the sofa whilst the DC are watching Octonauts and Tree Fu Tom, all the better!!

Added myself to stats, in the hope that I'm not jinxing anything:

Boosiehs · 18/12/2012 08:08

Hello there. Can I join this thread? I had my BFP on Saturday and have my first ante natal appt tomorrow. I think my due date is around 23rd August.

It's my first potential DC and I'm in between super excited and sh*t scared.

I've got mega sore puppies and been having waves of nausea and weird burping. Does that sound normal??!! Smile

Thanks!! Xx

beckie90 · 18/12/2012 08:14

GARY they say that they won't forward my scan because they won't get a correct diagnosis with my last scan been last week. but things change on a daily basis so there should already be more to see. And they won't see me unless I'm bleeding really heavy but I said its my peace of mind I've no idea what's going on and they should be trying to find out rather than leaving me another week. I've had 3 bleeds now and getting bad pains everyday. She told me to just take painkillers x

Lucy411 · 18/12/2012 09:30

Felt non stop sick for the past 3 days... Wahhh :(
Can't add myself as on phone but think I'm due 5th aug x

blondecat · 18/12/2012 09:57

DIY
I am so sorry. I hope you recover quickly and that next time is better

Amelie, Becky
I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you. You are quite right at this stage every day makes a difference - this makes a long wait hell but on the flip side can give hope

You should see the gestational sack growing by 1 mm per day and once the baby is visible in the sixth week it should grow by 1mm per day. They date it this way so 2mm is 6 +2 etc well into 7th week. Remember at the lower range of these sizes you can have trouble measuring and finding them - mine started off hidden in the corner behind the yolk sack.

I had a nice yolk sack and the very beginnings of a fetal pole but no HB Friday when I should have been 6 +3 by LMP. Luckily I knew I ovulated late. Then I bled and went through a weekend from hell waiting for a scan Monday morning. My old fashioned GP mother put me on bed rest and it was the longest 64 hours of the year for me

Thank God, Monday all looked great - a nice little heartbeat and a 3 day growth from Friday - I measured 6 +2.5 (obgyn joke) which makes perfect sense by my LH surge date

No explanation for the bleed

So now I am on magnesium (to stop cramps), progesterone (just in case) and "no shaking the uterus" regimen. Which means no flying home for Christmas, no skiing, no sledging, and generally no fun for the next 4 weeks at least. I shall be stuck in Switzerland with DH and DC, who is luckily too young to realize she us missing out on a family gathering.
All for a good cause

blondecat · 18/12/2012 09:59

For all those feeling sick

I dread it. And I envy you. And I hope I will rue these last words when I am trying not to be sick

Nausea reduces your chances of miscarriage by in excess of 30 %. So it's a great sign.

Boosiehs · 18/12/2012 10:04

Slightly panicking now. We're flying to Australia next week for 2 weeks. Worried that I shouldn't be going. I'll be about 6 weeks then.

Has anyone else flown early??

beckie90 · 18/12/2012 10:19

blondecat Thankyou well I've got sickness so hopefully thats a good sign. The scan I had was bang on 6wk by lmp but I think I ovulated late by around 3 days. Not sure though, the scan I had showed a 17.5mm gestational sack so she said thsts around size of 6wk but she cudnt see if there was anything in it cause my womb tilts backwards not forwards so said because its so small its making it hard to see but that's been 1 week now so surely something should have improved even if my womb does tilt backwards. I've booked an appointment with my gp, epu took my hormone level just once so have no idea if that's even increasing as it should xx

blondecat · 18/12/2012 10:20

Boosiehs

There is nothing to prevent you from flying at 6 weeks. In my case it's because of a threatened miscarriage now and a history of recurrent MCs

Drink plenty of fluids, move, and wear the flight socks and enjoy your flight

blondecat · 18/12/2012 10:22

In my first happy pregnancy I flew early, mid and late without any problems and have a fantastic DC to show for it

Boosiehs · 18/12/2012 10:46

Thanks very much blondecat. I think its mostly irrational fears on my part!

FoofFighter · 18/12/2012 12:17

Beckie did they do a normal scan or an internal one?

beckie90 · 18/12/2012 12:28

Internal but had same with ds1 at 6wk too it still dusnt pick it up correctly x

blondecat · 18/12/2012 12:54

Beckie

17.5mm sac over 7 days ago means they can definitely get a clearer diagnosis now

By 20mm they should get fetal pole and / or HB and you'd be bigger than this.

However, could it be they are making you wait longer because of the unusual shape?
Waiting is torture in cases like this - if you are bleeding and in pain it's even worse. I hope it's not about resources. Could you go to a different EPU or have a private scan?

Lucy411 · 18/12/2012 15:37

Happy that its a good sign feeling this rubbish and wanting to hurl at the thought of anything that has the mildest smell!

TiredofZombies · 18/12/2012 17:18

Got a bit of a tight feeling across my belly today, and the waistband of my normally fine jeans is bothering me. Still not sure if it's bloating or actual bump growth. Is anyone showing at 6+2, or know if it's possible? I'm not properly showing, but there's definitely belly where previously there was none. Also my boobs feel a bit more substantial, if you know what I mean. No bigger, just boobier, if that makes sense. Still no puke though, hurray! I rarely vomit anyway, I have to be very poorly before I'm actually sick, I even managed a horrific ferry crossing at (unknowingly) about 3wks pg, without throwing up. Sorry, I know this is no consolation to those of you suffering with ms but I have to admit I'm glad, I think I would find it very difficult to deal with.

PurpleDana · 18/12/2012 18:12

I'm only 5 weeks zombies and I am huge!! I don't feel bloated, no trapped wind and not constipated but I have ballooned out incredibly! Had to wear leggings to work today as even size 14 trousers I bought at wknd are uncomfortably tight :-/

Boosiehs · 18/12/2012 18:23

I feel very bloated at 5wks (today Yippee). Tired and stuff too and VERY gassy. Blush
