Welcome aboard ladies.

Let's do this Journey together.

I second the tired and gassy.

"Mummy tummy talks" says DD triumphantly

Silver15 · 18/12/2012 18:43

Hello ladies,

Welcome new BFPs and sorry to those having a hard time. I'm struggling with evening sickness and also had to leave work early as by 1pm I felt very tired.
I'm also showing a small bump but only 8+1 today. I showed early with ds2. I felt comforted by the post about nausea though I must admit that sometimes I feel completely fed up

Your digestion slows right down to allow the maximum nutrients to be taken out, this is what causes a lot of the apparent weight gain in the early weeks, and fluid retention too, make sure you are drinking plenty of fluid to minimise both :)

Have gone from last week's insomnia to SLEEPMONSTER! Had a full night's sleep, went for a nap for 2.5hrs earlier, woke up at half 4, am yawning my head off again!

beckie90 · 18/12/2012 20:00

blondecat they said the sac looks fine and is in the right place it should be. I should have been 6wk by lmp on that day. But obviously ovulation date can change that, and they said with my womb its so hard to pick the smaller things up at that point. So just gonna have to wait it out till christmas eve, there was 2 things they originally thought was 2 sacs, but they changed there minds to 1 sac and 1 an area of fluid, 1 measured 17.5 the other was 19 xx

PurpleDana · 18/12/2012 20:33

foof I do drink loads of water throughout the day. I guess it's just a combination of slow digestion and lots of progesterone.
And yeah I am having real trouble sleeping! I feel tired in the evening and can drop off to sleep at bedtime fine, but I am just so restless and keep waking. So not like me, I usually sleep really well

TiredofZombies · 18/12/2012 20:46

I'm terrible for drinking water, I'm sure I don't drink nearly enough. But I just don't like it! . I know, it's good for me, and if it helps keep constipation at bay I'll try anything. Have only ever been constipated when I was pregnant with DD. It was more painful than labour! Definitely want to avoid that if possible. I've even bought some figs.

zen1980 · 18/12/2012 21:23

Hi everyone!
Hold your all ok. I had my midwife appointment yesterday which went ok just the basic stuff and gave me a edd of 6th Aug, 7 week today, she went through that I will be under hhospital more again cause of thyroid but expected that really. Still being really sick first thing and feeling pretty awful til after lunch but am still feeling like scan is an age away an need reaassurance. Am just praying everything's ok.
Will be glad to get to middle of Jan for date as have a busy Jan month to keep busy xx

Yvonney · 18/12/2012 21:30

Hi, can I join this thread?! Had BFP yesterday, very early days for me yet, due around 25th August. Have one DS aged 7 who is longing to be a big brother, soo long to wait until we can tell him. Just feel very tired & excited! x

RuckAndRoll · 18/12/2012 21:43

really sad for those going through stressful times.
zombie I know the boob feeling, dh thinks they're bigger and I've bought some sleep bras as they hurt when I take my bra off, but my.bras still fit so obviously not any bigger.
wishing away Christmas and January so I can get to the first scan now!

FoofFighter · 18/12/2012 21:56

The pain when I take my bra off at night is so so horrendous :( I wonder would it do my breasts any harm to just keep my bra on 24/7? They are underwired, F cup, can't do without an underwire! Those Ahhh bras, I wish they did them in bigger sizes as that would be ideal for just now.

TiredofZombies · 18/12/2012 22:36

I thought underwired were not recommended during pregnancy & bf? Have to admit I'm not sure why though. Am still wearing mine, because my non-wired maternity ones are still too big. (Still only a D cup at my biggest though.)

TotallyEggFlipped · 19/12/2012 04:53

I think underwires are okay as long as they fit properly (ie the wire isn't pressing on any breast tissue).

RuckAndRoll · 19/12/2012 06:46

food I'm a ff cup so understand the pain. I got some really basic stretchy crop top type bras from m&s, 2 for £12 which are great for sleep. just enough support.

Boosiehs · 19/12/2012 08:14

I wear those secret support vest tops from M&s. they do ones especially for the larger boobed woman. They are great. I know what you mean ab

Boosiehs · 19/12/2012 08:16

I wear those secret support vest tops from M&s at night. They do ones in DD plus. . They are great. I know what you mean about the pain of taking your bra off at night. It's weird though, I want to take it off all day as uncomfy, then when I do-pain!!

Boosiehs · 19/12/2012 08:17

Sorry about the double post! Newbie. Blush

littlecupcake · 19/12/2012 08:19

Good morning, hope you're all doing well.

Feeling rotten with a heavy cold and blocked sinuses but so reluctant to take anything other than paracetamol. Does anyone know what is safe that might give me a teensy bit of relief? Have been suffering since Saturday Xmas Sad

TiredofZombies · 19/12/2012 10:57

Sorry you're not well littlecupcake, I don't know as I would probably only want to take paracetamol too.

Anyone else ravenously hungry ALL THE TIME? It's getting beyond a joke. Dinner was at 6ish last night, savoury mince and mash, so not a light meal. I ate until I was really full, and then was hungry again at 9.30. This morning I had toast at 7.30 and then a ham sandwich at 10.00.

parttimer79 · 19/12/2012 11:24

Hi there - I'm 6w3d and hopefully due on 11 August. Found out 2 weeks ago and it still doesn't seem real.
This is my first and I'm still being cautious until 12 week scan at end of January but I am secretly so very excited. Little one very much planned but er happened far quicker than we imagined Blush
Really glad I've found a place where people are in the same boat as we've not told anyone but my mum and OH's parents yet.

TotallyEggFlipped · 19/12/2012 12:43

TiredofZombies I'm with you on the hungry all the time. I've always had a massive healthy appetite, but now I can't last between meals at all. The problem is, I feel a bit sick after I eat, but I feel sick if I don't eat either. I think I've figured out that done of my nocturnal wakings are due to hunger. I've started having a big bowl of porridge before bed!

FoofFighter · 19/12/2012 13:09

I think the underwired bra thing is not a problem as long as they fit properly and aren't pressing on the fleshy bit of your breasts. I wouldn't like to wonder how long I would have to search for non underwired ones in my size tbf!!

Cupcake - go back to the old traditional remedies, hot honey and lemon, steam your sinuses out with a big bowl of water and some olbas oil, smother yourself in vics (apparently putting it on the soles of your feet is really effective?!)

Hunger - yes and no - am snacking more in the day as can't face food, but then in the evening I eat my dinner then 2 hours later am making sandwiches or toast or a tray of cheese and pickles! Then by bedtime I am thinking about ringing a pizza (haven't yet!)
Am really not wanting to over-eat - have been a member of SLimming World for the last 4 months or so and lost a decent amount of weight and I can't afford to put much on really. Hoping to be able to get back on track once cravings (bread) and aversions (anything healthy) have gone and Xmas is over with and start healthy eating again.

Hello yet more newbies :)

Is anyone planning a Christmas announcement? I'd love to but am too wary after last time missed miscarriage at 9 weeks, so waiting.

TiredofZombies · 19/12/2012 13:29

I'm not surprised there's mixed info about the bra wires. It was the bra fitting lady in M&S who told me, she then went on to sell me a bra that felt nice and supportive at first but after an hour or two felt like a vice round my ribs.

I'd love a Christmas announcement but I think it will be a bit early for us at 7+2. I mc'd at 9 weeks last time but only found out at the 12 week scan, so even though this pregnancy feels different and I desperately want to tell someone, I just daren't.

FoofFighter · 19/12/2012 13:59

interesting you should say that Zombies, I feel differently too, I was very pessimistic for no good reason last time, even before the spotting started that prompted the early scan and discovery of the mmc, this time although there are still no guarantees, I just feel optimistic about it :) I really hope it's not illjudged!

beckie90 · 19/12/2012 13:59

Got my hcg results today from Yesturday after the blood Monday, there now 36556, they was 2100 last week. So seems to progressing ok xx

FoofFighter · 19/12/2012 14:03

thats fantastic news Beckie!
