We had our BFPs in November.

Welcome aboard ladies.

Let's do this Journey together.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
RuckAndRoll · 13/12/2012 19:55

8/8 is a brilliant due date, all the best people are born then! it might happen to be my birthday

Chuckaluck · 13/12/2012 21:18

Welcome to all the new BFPs! I have been MIA for the last few days riding the pregnancy rollercoaster! Had a weekend away and had a small glass of wine. Felt immediately like a bad mother! Then seemed to get some kind of virus, had a nasty temperature and not been right since! Drove to work Xmas party last night, started the office pregnancy rumours and thought being ill had given me the perfect excuse! Wrong!

Have been having some crazy dreams but one was that I went for 12 week scan and there was no baby. Now convinced I will miscarry as been having some major stomach cramps (but no bleeding so GP not worried). I thought TTC was bad but pregnancy is even worse! Slowly going mad! Xmas Confused

Christelle2207 · 13/12/2012 21:42

chucklaluck sorry you're having a nasty time of things. Def go back to GP if no improvement.

ruthie very exciting re your scan.

Well after bragging about not feeling tired then running 10 miles at the weekend things have rapidly gone downhill for me this week. Though I start the days off ok, in the afternoons and evenings I am SOOO tired, and this is the first night this week I've not been in bed by 9pm (but had a day's leave today so slept in!). Also waking up in the middle of the night! Have had constant strange feeling in tum since before getting the bfp, seeing gp tomorrow so will ask him about that and also the pinching pains I am gettting very low down (best guess is that that is to do with uterus stretching). Also feeling constantly sick, though not thrown up yet. Gone off chocolate, cake and mince pies which is very unlike me. Not managed any exercise since Sunday, I honestly feel like all the energy has been drained out of me.
No real boob soreness though they have got visibly bigger and one pair of trousers (which are quite snug anyway to be fair) uncomortably so now (but perhaps I've just been eating too many crisps).

Really worried that I'm going to be like this for months and really emotional as well. Lots of tears this week, poor dh is looking worried, bought him a "pregnancy guide for blokes" today which he will hopefully read!
First mw appointment is on the 28th, bit of a wait but suits me ok because not at work that week so don't have to worry about skiving off and making colleagues even more suspicious. Pretty sure I will have to tell my boss and PA quite soon as it is affecting my work, but everyone else in the office can just speculate away, don't care!

littlecupcake · 14/12/2012 00:22

Hello newbies!

Had blood test Wed morning, still waiting for result so they can give me a due date. Will call up tomorrow even though they said the results would be in next week. Then I can add myself to the list.

Overwhelmed by the amount of literature in the Bounty pack that the GP gave me, and there was even another voucher to get a mum to be pack too!

Has anyone been offered or had their flu jab yet? The receptionist tried to get me to book that when I made my midwife appointment, but I wasn't sure of the advantages/disadvantages. I remember my GP supported my decision not to have it last time, but that was three years ago and things have probaly changed. Will you or won't you be having the jab?

nicnic79 · 14/12/2012 06:28

good morning . ladies . I'm lying in bed after having to get up for the loo. now munching digestives . been feeling a bit brighter my DP now seems to have got with the program which is great he being very helpful . had quite bad sickness and fatigue its not bothered my mood much just had lots of rest . seeing my MH nurse today so can have a good moan .then off shopping bar humbug . I'm 8+1 today not heard anything off midwife service yet . so no news

RuckAndRoll · 14/12/2012 08:13

nic glad you get to see your MH nurse today, sometimes it's worth chasing the midwife referral, things go missing in the system quite frequently.

cupcake the GP didn't mention the flu jab to me (and I'm asthmatic as well), but then again I didn't think to ask. In previous years I've not had it after the few years I did get it I had to worst winter flu and the years I didn't I just got a cold. But this year it's not just about me. I might phone the drs surgery and ask about it.

christelle not good to hear you're not feeling too great. I'm the same as you, afternoon and evening are the worst. Off to a work conference today so need to avoid running out of presentations to retch.

chuck hope things settle down a bit for you soon.

Hope everyone else is doing well today, it's Friday Xmas Grin

Christelle2207 · 14/12/2012 08:20

cupcake forgot to mention, i was offered and given flu jab earlier this week by nurse at gp surgery. told that pg women tend to get flu worse, though the jab and in most cases the flu itself arent harmful to baby. anyway other than sore arm no problem here.
i cant find any reason on the internet NOT to have it if offered.

GaryBuseysTeeth · 14/12/2012 10:12

Welcome Ruthie!

Chuck, wait until you have the baby and are constantly checking their breathing at night...it's a rollercoster of fun Xmas Hmm
Hope things settle down for you soon.

I already had the flu jab (had it at my MC booking in apt), I know I'll be offered Whopping Cough at 28wks+ & (if I get that far) I'll be having that too.
I won't be making the mistake of signing up for Bounty again, cancelled everything a billion times & I'm still getting junk in the post!

bzzbee, I have babybump (daily updates) & womanlog (weekly with an embryo pic!) pregnancy on my (android) phone, babycentre was really good when I was pg with DS but it crashes on me constantly.

What's everyone up to at the weekend?

blondecat · 14/12/2012 12:19

Just came back from the obgyn.
The good news is that there is no bad news
Sac went from 3.6 to 11 in a week and he thinks he saw sth move next to the yolk sac. Too small to say as the cheeky monkey was hiding

The bad news is no heartbeat but its possible I am 5+5 not 6 today so it may be ok

Going again Monday. Again with the wait

littlecupcake · 14/12/2012 12:32

Keeping fingers crossed for you blondecat.

ruthietoothie · 14/12/2012 13:22

Thanks for all the welcomes, seems like a lovely club!

Blondecat I'll keep my fingers firmly crossed for you. The waiting is horrid isn't it... Hope the weekend goes fast for you and you get the news you want come Monday!

Christelle just to say on the morning sickness that I did find things improved drastically when made it into the second trimester - hope that's the case for you too! I know everyone says it but eating little and often really helps. Even when the last thing you can stomach is anything, half a dry oat cake really helped for me!

Have good weekends everyone when it comes

I'm not loving early pregnancy and the festive season. Don't think I'll have had such a sober Xmas in years!

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 14/12/2012 13:32

blondecat 5+5 or even 6 weeks is very early to get a heartbeat. i didnt get one with dd until over 7 weeks. good luck and keep strong!

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 14/12/2012 13:33

I woke up this morning around 3am feeling very nauseous.....and again around 6amish, but as soon as I was up and about it went away. Could this be be MS?

LoveYouForeverMyBaby · 14/12/2012 13:34

got my dates wrong previously, i think i'm 4+5.

TiredofZombies · 14/12/2012 13:53

I have an appointment for my flu jab next week, and will have the whooping cough one too, later on. Still no symptoms really, except a painful boob when 17mo DD put all her weight on it, but I think that would have hurt pg or not!

I think I had a lucky escape with Bounty last time round, I did get the first pack and sent off the card, but never heard from them again!

BraveLilBear · 14/12/2012 14:59

Hello new faces! On phone and suffering from short term memory fail today so forgive me for lack of name checking.

Was at docs today with infected hair follicle (on my undercarriage - ow) and she said to go back at 12 weeks for flu jab, which I thought was slightly random.

Had first proper vomit as well when I got back... Feeling rough and have 10 year old DSS coming to stay tonight. last time he was here we had a midnight vomit session so hoping he doesn't repeat that.

May see pg friend got double date Sunday, see how the antibiotics kick in.

What you planning Gary? Everyone else?

blondecat · 14/12/2012 16:38

Thank you

I started bleeding one hour after the visit. ConfusedI was told to wait and see and have an appointment Monday morning.
Then either a d&c or more waiting. Unless it passes on its own.
Now I am getting conflicting advice on travel, resting the works. I am supposed to take a three hour small plane flight Tuesday am
Life sucks

GaryBuseysTeeth · 14/12/2012 16:45

Oh Blonde, I'm sorry you're really going through the mill atm.
What's the latest you can cancel going on your flight? I'd give it all weekend & see how the bleeding goes, is there anyway it's not miscarriage?
Hope you have a peaceful (as possible) weekend & the dr has some good news on Monday. x

Bear, hurrah for morning sickness! Although hope DSS doesn't see your Linda Blair impression again...although it may put him off ever having sex, so maybe it's worth it? Grin
Hope your undercarriage is better soon!

Having a quiet weekend, friend coming over for a takeaway/trashy movie session whilst DH goes out & then taking DS over to extended family tomorrow (his birthday is next week, so everyone wants a piece of him)...sofa day on sunday methinks.

blondecat · 14/12/2012 17:27

Garybusysteeth
I can cancel anytime
The doc says it won't make a difference. My mother who is 40 years older and also a doctor says it might and even if it doesn't I will always wonder if it did if anything happens.
She says that if things are fine Monday I should still not fly as I am a high risk pregnancy.
And that I should not fly the day after d&c either. In truth leaving hospital at 6 to go straight to the airport doesn't strike me as smart either.

Chuckaluck · 14/12/2012 17:50

Thanks for all your lovely comments. I am on a packed delayed train out of London - just want to be at home NOW!!! Think I need to destress! Would normally turn to wine or chocolate but gone off chocolate and not drinking!!

Blonde, how worrying for you. Will be thinking of u. Thanks

FoofFighter · 14/12/2012 18:33

Blonde :( still hoping for a good outcome for you Thanks

Weekend plans? Not a lot, working both days and hoping to get OH to take me to see Rise of the Guardians in 3d Xmas Grin

TotallyEggFlipped · 14/12/2012 19:52

Blonde, I really hope things get better for you.

I had my booking appointment with the midwife today. I need to ring in a week to book my 12 week scan and I'm having my flu jab next week too.

We're off to the in-laws this weekend for 4 (very long) days. I'm really hoping I'll be able to keep the whole pregnancy thing under wraps, but DH seems to be actively trying to hint to them, despite my wishes. He's already told them I'm not eating bread and that I was taking a nap in the afternoon the other day.

Nightwish · 15/12/2012 09:49

So I have finally and unfortunately turned the page from just feeling sick all of the time to actually being sick.
And it is just as I remember with DS, I will be happily eating, go and be sick, come back and carry on eating whatever I have just thrown up. Lovely.
I am hoping it is just the once today though as I am taking DS to see Peppa Pig this morning and tonight I am going to see The Hobbit.

thekatsatonthematt · 15/12/2012 11:00

Hi everyone (special wave for Gary Xmas Grin)

I think I'm 5 weeks, but I totally overestimated last time round and hadn't marked my last AF in my diary so not really sure. I also started a new job on Monday so my timing couldn't be worse! Ho hum.

I have a nearly 1yo DS, no pregnancy symptoms yet to speak of except tiredness but it's difficult to quantify as the new job is physical so I'd be tired this week anyway IYSWIM.

Feels a bit rude to name check when you don't know me yet, but positive vibes for all those with woes!

HelgatheHairy · 15/12/2012 11:38

Starting to feel a little bit sick in the mornings but still not too bad. Feels like the sick feeling that goes away when you eat iykwim. Apart from that, just mild cramps and sore boobs (not helped by the dog, a golden retriever, standing on them!)
