I was hoping to sneak a bit of brie on Christmas day but I'll never get it past my husband. He's normally laid back and follows my lead, but my pregnancy has turned him into the food police. He's even hiding the coffee so I can only have 1 cup a day (which he makes because he luvs us). This is despite 3 cups being the recommendation here. He jumps between the Swedish and UK recommendations depending on which is the most restrictive. Hmm

(I don't mind really. It shows how much he cares)

Hello everyone
I'm outing myself as a lurker, been here since the beginning but just a bit shy!
This will be my DC1 EDD May 6.
I'm excited scared and overwhelmed by everything, but wanted to say hello and also thank you, it really has been just so comforting reading everyone's journey so far, and has helped me relax a lot these last few weeks. I'm a bit of a worrier but I always feel so much better after being here.
So if you will have me, I would love to join the May family.
Smile
x

hiya betsy! Smile We are almost due date buddies. DC2 is due 7th May. It is an exciting, scary, overwhelming journey! But also wonderful! When I was pg with DD, I was fretting a lot but I could never have imagined how wonderful it would be when she arrived (even with terrible sleep deprivation!)

flamin your DH is sweet!
My DH has no idea about these things, but his DF almost has a heart attack if I want a sip of wine at Christmas! I do feel thankful he cares but I do feel also very.......owned....judged...embarrassed.....not sure how to describe it. Maybe I feel it's my and my DH's business but not other people's? Don't think I've explained this very well, does anyone know what I mean? I suppose I'm thinking of our bodies being other people's property - people grabbing the bump without asking, talking about our weight (DF I'm looking at you!! [ANGRY] etc.

Welcome betsyb!

Flaminnora- aww that's sweet that he cares ;-)

I too am a cheese addict......!

SevenElvesAndAReindeer · 01/12/2012 12:34

Hi betsy, glad you've finally 'officially' joined us.

tasmanian I'm sure he means well, must be very frustrating though. I'm generally happy to not drink during pregnancy, though I will be having a glass on Christmas Day. I don't think the rare odd glass will do any harm but I wouldn't do it often. I'll probably have one at new year then not another until my birthday in April.

DH has been ordered to buy Stilton on his way home tonight!

I've got so bad news. My waters broke yesterday at 15+3. Have have no waters left yet baby still alive with strong heartbeat but only a 1% chance of survival.
I'm calm one minute expecting my fate, sobbing the next.

tasmaniandevilchaser · 01/12/2012 13:01

oh god little I'm so sorry Sad. There are no words to say.

Ellypoo · 01/12/2012 13:24

Oh god little, I'm so sorry. Is there anything they can do? Huge hugs and handholding xxx

LittleBairn · 01/12/2012 14:13

elly they were pretty doom and gloom about my prognosis they aren't expecting the baby to survive mostly because all the fluid is gone and it's so early.
BUT sometimes the fluid can reform and the membranes reform around the hole. Its a massive but, we literally need a miracle.
The baby this morning still had a strong healthy heartbeat it hasn't given up so neither will I but at the same time I'm mentally preparing to go into labour.
It's a confusing time.

LittleBairn · 01/12/2012 14:17

Forgot 15+4 my little fighter is still with me so far...
