New thread for June 2013 :)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Dillydollydaydream · 10/12/2012 09:42

I'm full of germs too! Cold, cough, etc.
I have olbas oil which helps with my nose but still feel rubbish. I used to take Lemsip for granted!

spiderlight · 10/12/2012 09:52

It's over. I bled all weekend and then had about four hours of cramps/contractions and a massive bleed last night. Just waiting for the GP to ring me back to find out what happens now: antenatal didn't want to see me unless my GP thought it was incomplete and the early pregnancy unit will only see me on GP referral. I guess I'm officially hopping off the bus now but I hope everything goes well for you all xxx

LittlemissChristmas · 10/12/2012 09:54

So sorry spider. Look after yourself and don't give up hope for the future

Dillydollydaydream · 10/12/2012 10:03

forgetmenots · 10/12/2012 11:02

So, so sorry spider. Take care and hope to see you on another antenatal thread soon. X

pinkapples · 10/12/2012 12:24

So sorry spider x

monal · 10/12/2012 12:29

Ah spider. So sorry.

DontGrumbleGiveAWhistle · 10/12/2012 12:32

Spider - am so sorry for your loss. Hugs

SunnyL · 10/12/2012 13:17

Sorry Spider for your loss.

Jeremy Vine is doing a phone in right now of all the horrible things we might have to put up with while pregnant. I really should stop listening and just think nice thoughts about fluffy bunnies.....

AmIGoingMad · 10/12/2012 15:17

Hello! I hope there's room for a newcomer? Had my scan this morning and now feel like its ok to post! Due with baby number 2 on 25th June which makes me 11+6 today. have one ds who is nearly 23 months. Really excited but also stressing constantly- current concern is whether to pay privately ( could do without the cost as not exactly flush!) for nuchal scan as Nhs here doesn't do it. You'd think I could just enjoy having had positive scan today wouldn't you?! I'll drive myself mad at this rate.
I hope that you're all doing well. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all in the coming months.

AmIGoingMad · 10/12/2012 15:18

Didn't read properly before posting. That probably seemed really insensitive. So sorry spider- I know I don't know you but I hope you're ok and am thinking of you at this very difficult time x

forgetmenots · 10/12/2012 15:45

AmIGoingMad - I do that all the time (read without going through the whole thread!) you must be over the moon with your scan today! how exciting.
Personally I didn't opt for the NTS (even though it is available in my area) but it is a decision only you and baby's father can make. For me, I wouldn't have done anything with the information anyway (wouldn't risk amnio and wouldn't terminate) but then I've got experience of kids with learning difficulties and that can make it easier. Good luck and welcome :)

MrsBri · 10/12/2012 17:55

Spider, I'm so sorry. I hope you've got good RL support. xx

Forget, my scan is tomorrow, and I'm not being tested for Downs either. We wouldn't do anything with the info, so no point. We will cope with anything that happens, if necessary.

Feeling like utter crap right now, so hoping it is a sign that all is OK for tomorrow. Embracing the nausea!

CuriouslyChristmassyColaHam · 10/12/2012 19:02

Good luck for tomorrow MrsBri and anyone else who has their scan.

AmIGoingMad · 10/12/2012 19:39

Good luck with scan mrsbri! I've been the same on the nausea front- it feels horrible but is also reassuring!
DH has said the same- unlikely we'd do anything with the results if they were high risk so is it worth it? probably not.

MadameJinglealltheway · 10/12/2012 19:40

So sorry Spider, take really good care of yourself x

Had my scan today and everything was fab, nice wriggly little bean and dated at 12+2 so obviously we are over the moon. I also decided against the NTS as like others I wouldn't do anything with the information.

dreamydays · 10/12/2012 19:41

So sorry Spider :(

Welcome amIgoingmad! As it happens I was just reading the NHS site and it is pretty clear that all women should be offered a nuchal scan. So a bit odd that it's not offered in your area?

www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/screening-amniocentesis-downs-syndrome.aspx

forgetmenots · 10/12/2012 20:10

Good luck for tomorrow MrsBri and congratulations Madame on your lovely wriggly bean. :)

AmIGoingMad that's what you've got to weigh up. I don't want to influence you unduly (read the NHS site) but what I would say is just talk it through and don't be influenced by others, in RL or on MN. There's no right or wrong. I would though think about what either result would mean for you - would you want diagnostic tests, would you feel relieved by a low risk result? Really tough but you will get there!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 10/12/2012 20:24

Hi, I was on the first june 2013 thread with you guys, at the very beginning, and I had a mc. Just popping my head around the door to say I'm pregnant again 4 weeks after the mc, didn't have an af, just a bfp! which means I'm 4 weeks (+2) pregnant now, due aug 17th according to various apps on my phone. Obviously it's very early days and I'm hoping nothing goes wrong with this one, just thought I'd let you know. Smile

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 10/12/2012 20:25

Hope everything is going well with your pregnancies and you're all having/going to have lovely normal 12 week scans! Smile

DontmindifIdo · 10/12/2012 20:26

congratulations James!!!! That's lovely news! Take care of yourself. x

Sunbeam18 · 10/12/2012 20:36

Hi James - that's wonderful!! I remember you on the thread earlier on. Congratulations, and all the best for a healthy and happy pregnancy x

AlohaMama · 10/12/2012 20:40

So sorry for your loss spider. Look after yourself.

And welcome AmIgoingMad. We're nearly in the same boat, I'm due a day after you, and have 20 mo ds. Don't even want to think about how to cope with 2!!

Good luck MrsBri. My SIL was trying to give me the same advice - embrace the nausea my a*se. Embrace the toilet more like.
