Wonderful, Suzy!!! X

Dillydollydaydream · 06/12/2012 15:22

Brilliant news suzy

Good news about the other scans too. We'll all be leaving the first trimester behind soon.

CuriouslyChristmassyColaHam · 06/12/2012 16:22

Excellent news Suzy. Really pleased for you. I can't believe we are all heading into the second trimester already Grin

Sunbeam18 · 06/12/2012 17:00

Anyone else got their scan on Wednesday next week? It feels like I'm last!

SparklySanta · 06/12/2012 17:28

sun I have a scan on Wednesday but I've already had one, cus I couldn't stand waiting any longer!!

When actually does the first trimester end? Is it at 12 weeks? Sorry that's probably such an idiot question!!

Telling some of my besties this weekend, I've been avoiding them for weeks!!

webminx · 06/12/2012 17:33

Great news about healthy babies and twins! Am 11.5 weeks today, i think. Have my booking in appointment tomorrow evening and my scan next week. So excited and still very nervous. Bleeding seems to have stopped for now, which must be a good thing (?) and I am still feeling bit sick throughout the day and late evenings, which must also be good (!) and my tummy has popped out to the point I think everybody at work must either know or think I've been at the pies...
At the booking in appointment, can the MW check for a heartbeat does anyone know?

dreamydays · 06/12/2012 19:08

Congrats suzy, great news!

Thanks to rue and others for the reassurance on bonding with no 2 :)

MrsBri · 06/12/2012 19:51

My scan is Tuesday, so not quite last! After my location mix up 2 weeks ago, my booking in is on Saturday.

Bit scared to ask the MW to do a heartbeat search, even though I saw it beating away at 8 weeks at the private scan!

pinkapples · 06/12/2012 20:04

I know this is a bit prem but anyone know when we will get our letters for the 20 week scan, I'm dying to see baby again!

Dillydollydaydream · 06/12/2012 20:14

I think second trimester is from week 13?
I had my 20wk scan appointment through the other day, 17th January. Ages away!

CuriouslyChristmassyColaHam · 06/12/2012 20:39

webminx my midwife said it was too early at 12 weeks as it just causes unnecessary stress when they can't find it. I still asked thoughSmile and got a firm noGrin

Good luck for the last few scans. It still amazes me how much the baby moves around. I meant to ask, did anyone get a video with their pictures? I did at my ds's scan in London. Only remembered tonight when I was saying to dh that I could watch the baby move all day. Actually, maybe it was the 20 week scan.

AlohaMama · 06/12/2012 20:59

Funny how things are different in different places. Here (Hawaii), the doctor looks for heartbeat from your first appointment (usually 8 weeks, but last time I think it was even earlier, maybe 6 weeks). Then every 4 weeks you have a checkup where they routinely measure baby's heartbeat, weigh you and do BP. I had my first scan at 8 weeks but all they did was measure the bean to work out due date, so now I have to wait till 18-20 weeks for next scan to make all the measurements to check development, nuchal folds etc. AT least then I'll be in synch with you all and can join in the scan excitement!

CuriouslyChristmassyColaHam · 06/12/2012 21:09

I thought the nuchal had to be done before 14 weeks for some reason? I know at the rest of the midwife appointments the heartbeat will be checked. You only get weighed once at the booking in appointment though. Too many women were getting stressed from having their weight checked and some (in London) were avoided appointments because if it. Shock

LittlemissChristmas · 06/12/2012 21:13

Hi everyone... Can I join?
After 3 mc's I have avoided the antenatal threads but after my 12 wk scan yesterday I thought I should introduce myself Smile
DC 1 due 19th June
Hope your all enjoying your pregnancies and I'm sure your all looking forward to or starting to enjoy the second trimester

CuriouslyChristmassyColaHam · 06/12/2012 21:19

Welcome littlemiss. There is a stats thread somewhere for you to add your details. Sorry to hear about your previous losses. How have you been feeling this pregnancy?

AlohaMama · 06/12/2012 21:36

How bizarre to miss appointments rather than get weighed curiously. Maybe I'm wrong about the nuchal thing. I remember them measuring something last time, but now I can't remember when it was or what it was. To be honest reading everyone's chat here has made me realised I haven't got a clue what tests I've had or am having. I have my 12 wk checkup next week so will ask some questions and try to be a bit better informed!

Sorry about your previous losses littlemiss but glad things are going better for you this time, and welcome!!

LittlemissChristmas · 07/12/2012 05:35

Thank you Smile
Starting to feel better, I have had pretty bad ms and exhaustion which is probably all good signs just feels very surreal getting to 12 weeks! I have had a scan every week from 5 weeks, then saw midwife at 9 weeks and scan at 12 where i also had nuchal. Just waiting on blood results back. My local hosp go a bit mad at every antenatal appt, they do weight, bp and urine at same time as scan as well as midwife doing it but I suppose more isn't always a bad thing! Apart from all that I'm now classed as "normal" pregnancy which is great Smile
Sorry for the essay above!
How is everyone else feeling? Sorry I've not had a chance to read through all the posts yet

LittlemissChristmas · 07/12/2012 05:37

curiously your right about the moving around, I couldn't believe how much of a wriggler I had! Wouldn't stay still for a picture and very difficult to get the NT measurement due to moving!

edmg · 07/12/2012 07:14

Hello. New here as well. Will post in stats thread once I workout the acronyms!

MrsBri · 07/12/2012 07:23

Hello littlemiss and edmg :-)

Such an awful night's sleep last night. Work do tonight which I really can't face :-( I'll have the food then go home, I think!

How are we all today?

suzyrut · 07/12/2012 09:07

Morning everyone and hello to littlemiss and edmg.

Eurgh to work do's MrsBri they are hard enough when you can drink through them!

I asked about hearing the heartbeat at booking in and was told a very firm no until at least my 16 week appointment. Also my 20 week scan was booked in as soon as I'd finished my 12 week one which I thought was a good idea. Mine is also 17th Jan dolly which doesn't seem that long to wait now.

Thanks again to everyone for your congratulations, feel really over the moon today xx

LittlemissChristmas · 07/12/2012 09:54

edmg thanks for adding me to stats thread Smile
With frozen egg transfer I'm guessing you have already had some scans?

curlyclaz13 · 07/12/2012 15:08

Hi, can I join in ? I am 13+ 5 with my first, had a scan a couple of weeks ago and Bub was asleep !

SunnyL · 07/12/2012 15:27

Oh god I just need to vent. I had steeled myself to tell my boss yesterday but missed him as he was out at a meeting. Now today he's also been at a meeting - I was expecting him back at lunchtime but its now half 3 and he's still not here. He's then off to Malawi on Monday for a week.

The complete b is I've organised the work's Christmas party at my house next Friday when it will be blindingly obvious that I'm pregnant when I don't partake in the mulled wine. Aaaarrgggghh! Why won't bosses behave and be where they are meant to be!

olimoss · 07/12/2012 16:32

All the scans news is exciting to hear - keep them coming - and welcome to the new people!

I was able to sneak in my 16 week midwife visit today, just short of 15 weeks, as we fly out in Sunday. Got to hear the heartbeat which was very reassuring. Have to wear VERY unsexy flight socks on the plane and was surprised to be advised to take 75mg aspirin from today till a day after we arrived - she said they don't recommend it in pregnancy unless you fly long haul.

All else fell into the 'very normal/average' range so I don't really have anything else on the horizon till the 20 week scan on 15 Jan. seems a wait!

I shall miss all the lovely boozes usually had over Xmas.....might sneak a tiny sip here or there but it'll be a sober festive season for sure.
