Hi grainmum - good news on your scan. I'm 11 weeks today, and scan on 12 Dec. I'm in Edinburgh waves. I think mammalicious and red herring are supposed to be quite good maternity brands that aren't too expensive. I haven't got anything yet but will need jeans or trousers soon.

CuriosityCola · 29/11/2012 13:48

It's very hit or miss, but new look often has surprisingly nice maternity stuff.

princesschick · 29/11/2012 14:07

Hi all,

I haven't posted in ages as was a bit paranoid of things going tits up. But I've had my scan and there really is a little baby in there, the right size, with everything in the right place and developing as they should be. We were blown away by the scan and I can't stop looking at the pictures. So, by dates we're 12 + 4 today and by scan 12 + 3, so really not far out at all. Baby is due on my Grandad's birthday (died 10 years ago) and 2 days before my Dad's birthday, although I know it's unlikely to make it out on time! So relieved to be able to tell people good news after trying and failing for such a long time.

Congrats to all those who've had their dating scans and FX for all those due in the next couple of weeks.

Grain I've had to buy some bigger jeans as my old ones were really uncomfortable and have just gone with some cheapies from ASOS. I need a couple of Xmas outfits and something to wear on my birthday but was just planning to get some dresses in the sale a size up from what I usually wear as I've just got a bit of a bigger belly and boobs at the moment. Topshop look like they do some really nice maternity wear and H&M do some good basics too.

Hey everyone! Can I join? Am 10+4 (due 22 Jun) with 1st DC and languishing in the throes of horrid MS - could do with a few pg buddies to help me through...!! Scan booked for 12 Dec altho this seems so far in the future i'm not sure I can wait that long!!!! Its all exciting though vomit xx

spiderlight · 29/11/2012 15:24

Hello Fidget275 - welcome aboard!!

MrsBri · 29/11/2012 17:52

Hi Fidget :-) We have matching dates...my scan is the day before yours.

My MS comes and goes. I generally feel rough from mid afternoon onwards, but have also had all day nausea. It's worse when I have to get up to an alarm and rush about though.

Glad things went well, Princess. I'm a bit nervous about my scan, it has to be said.

Dillydollydaydream · 29/11/2012 19:00

Good news about scans.

I had mine today, they recalculated my EDD to be 31/05/13 rather than my LMP EDD of 1/6/13. Only one day difference but think I'll stick with my June EDD! Also had the NT measurement and blood test so hopefully the results will come back ok from that.

AlohaMama · 29/11/2012 20:28

Hi all and welcome Fidget

Haven't posted for a while, been lurking but not much to report this end. Feeling a bit better (now 10+1) so happy about that, though middle of the night wakings feeling nauseous are now replaced by middle of the night wakings with heartburn! No scan to look forward to till mid-Jan, as they do them at 18-20 weeks here (after initial 8 wk one).

Debating about when to tell work. Maybe after I've had the reassurance of the 12 week checkup and heard the heartbeat again. Last time had to tell at 9 weeks to avoid doing heavy lifting and going out on boats. Fortunately there is nothing scheduled right now so I'm hoping to wait a couple more weeks (if my growing bump/podge doesn't give the game away!)

grain I picked up some tops from New Look. I didn't want to spend too much money and they have some nice basics, quality is fine for something that is only going to be worn a few months. Last time I got nice maternity jeans from Mothercare that I wore throughout. And otherwise just chose tops I already had to 'sacrifice' as I stretched them out of shape. One of my most worn things was a jersey material crossover/wrap dress from Monsoon, not maternity at all, but stretched nicely till the end!

RueDeWakening · 29/11/2012 20:29

My scan is tomorrow lunchtime, I am surprisingly nervous about it. For some reason I'm half expecting bad news.

Think I'm just struggling a bit with the whole rainbow baby thing. Ho hum.

SparklySanta · 29/11/2012 20:33

fidget we have totally matching dates!!! Due on 22nd with scan on 12th!! Except we're paying for a private scan on Saturday Grin

redwellybluewelly · 29/11/2012 20:35

Hi Rue - I've nc but I am also really struggling with this pg after the horrors of delivery>NICU last time even though its not a rainbow baby as such. I hope you get the good news you have been hoping for, are you also seeing the high risk team? I have my scan next week followed by high risk clinic.

We're not telling as long as increased girth doesn't give the game away until after our 20wk scan in Feb (i think)

RueDeWakening · 29/11/2012 21:20

Yes, I've already seen them twice and will see them every two weeks throughout. They did scan already, about 6 weeks ago and found a (single) heartbeat, but knowing that isn't helping at the moment.

Still, not long to wait I suppose.

Sunbeam18 · 29/11/2012 21:26

What's a rainbow baby? Excuse my ignorance and hope that's not too nosy!

RueDeWakening · 29/11/2012 22:08

It's ok - I forget that not everyone knows Smile it's the baby you carry after losing one to stillbirth or similar. My DS is a surviving triplet, we lost his identical brothers (we knew a few weeks before they were born) and this time round is proving a bit more emotional than I was expecting.

PseudoBadger · 29/11/2012 22:14

I'm bleeding :( Got a thread in Pregnancy, fingers crossed all is ok

Sunbeam18 · 29/11/2012 22:15

God, Rue - I'm so sorry. That must have been heartbreaking. Must make things v emotional this time around. Good luck to you tmrw at your scan; looking forward to hearing that all is well. Xx

Sunbeam18 · 29/11/2012 22:19

Oh Pseudo! Hope all is ok. Thinking of you. Are you going to hospital? X

PseudoBadger · 29/11/2012 22:21

I'm not sure what to do. It's not lots and lots (but more than spotting), DP wants to wait until morning unless gets worse. I think I'm going to take dogs for a short walk then might call the hospital.

OP posts:
Sunbeam18 · 29/11/2012 22:52

Might be worth phoning to get advice. Hope all is ok.

PseudoBadger · 29/11/2012 22:56

I phoned. MW didn't ask any questions about colour/amount etc, just said A&E, but it felt more like she was saying there's nothing we could do as you're only 11 weeks. I feel like unless things get worse there's nothing to be gained from sitting in A&E all night (leaving DS with DP here) that can't be done at 8.30 at the doctors/A&E.

Littlebiker · 29/11/2012 23:50

Pseudo, I am crossing fingers for you. I had a latge amount ( soaked thr of bright red blood on the week end and after a scan on Monday

Littlebiker · 29/11/2012 23:51

Damn phone! Bright red blood soaked through sanitary towels. Scan this week and all was ok. Have you got cramps?

MrsBri · 30/11/2012 06:29

Good luck today, Badger...fingers firmly crossed. xx

grainmum · 30/11/2012 06:50

Thinking of you today badger - hoping you get a scan soon and fx all is well xx

suzyrut · 30/11/2012 09:09

Good luck today badger if it's any consolation I bled for about 3 days with ds1 around the same time...he's now a strapping 12 year old!
