Chocolate fudge cake or basic sponge? His lordship doesn't like chocolate cake so more for me!

mrswee · 04/11/2012 14:17

well I've baked two huge chocolate cakes today! one for home and one for work because I'm leaving on tuesday and I am the only one who ever brings in cake so i thought I'd treat them once more before I go... and myself of course, I get to eat cake at home and at work! No wonder my ass is so big.. I was blaming it on being pregnant but lets face it, pregnancy does not actually make your ass bigger... only your belly!!

Happy birthday detective that cake sounds amazing! Thanks for the reasurance, it is very helpful, I need to stay positive, that is really the most important thing! I have been blowing up the birthing ball today and am just going to sit on that from now on!
when I feel around the baby feels quite solid all over and high up possibly with it's back to the left right now and a suspicious lump near the top right, which I have been convinced is a head as my DD was breach until 38 weeks... but so far my MWs have said the don't think it is the head... I guess it could be a bum but it feels more head like, it's not always there and often it feels oblique or transverse! I think is does a lot of moving around still! The MWs have been having a very hard time feeling the position and also finding the heartbeat because of the position of my placenta so we will have to see at the time.

I am doubting I'll get much of an oppertunity to sit on my ball while DD is around, she will decide it's hers as soon as she see it!

kissyfur · 04/11/2012 14:17

Owww just had a really bad pain on left under side of the bump when walking round sainsburys. Had to sit down and leave DP to do the shopping. It's gone away now but was a bit frightening at the time. Any ideas what it could have been? Baby has been moving around quite a lot, movements are a bit painful Sad

mrswee · 04/11/2012 14:21

georgee there's lots of youtube videos about how to breath through contractions, I was watching them last night. Really helpful. My hypnotherapest friend hasn't had any kids so I guess isnt experienced in tha side of things but I've been looking it up myself so I am prepared.

pasties I blame valentines too... it was early march but the only time I got to wear that underwear I got for valentines!

Passmethecrisps · 04/11/2012 14:24

Kissy is had that yesterday. Could it be wind? Mine was crippling - couldn't straighten up.

Could it also be to so with the way the baby is lying? On a muscle?

Passmethecrisps · 04/11/2012 14:25

And a honeymoon baby here. Which was the 15th so pretty much valentines day!

kissyfur · 04/11/2012 14:29

I thought it might be that pass after what you said yesterday. I googled placental abruption too but I thought if it was that it would still be hurting?

applepieinthesky · 04/11/2012 14:39

My bump feels very achy today. I also keep getting a pain on my left hand side but its level with my belly button, not under the bump. It comes and goes.

pikz · 04/11/2012 14:40

First two Nct babies arrived yesterday and this morning....am so pleased all healthy and well but I. Have to admit quite a lot of jealously...I want mine too!

Elizadoesdolittle · 04/11/2012 14:51

My DH and DD made a cake earlier. A chocolate and orange one. Is currently cooling on the rack and smells yummy. Going to have some with a cup of tea in a bit.

Just got back from a walk to the park with DD on her scooter. It's very brrr out there. No sign of baby making an appearance. It currently has hic ups again!

Happy birthday detective enjoy your cake.

ShellyBobbs · 04/11/2012 15:09

Anyone else finding the birthing ball way too uncomfortable to use? I have for the last week. I feel like I'm sat on the baby and can feel every bit of it when I sit on it, like I'm squashing it back up there, don't know how anyone can use them in labour.

Titsalinabumsquash · 04/11/2012 15:22

Busy upstairs, looking like its bit happening today :'(

Titsalinabumsquash · 04/11/2012 15:22

Not*

WaitingForMe · 04/11/2012 15:44

I lean over mine Shelly. I have a giant square cushion resting on it then kind of flop over it and wiggle my arse. I am very seductive these days, especially as my top rides up and shows the stretch marks under the bump.

Happy Birthday Detective. I've been grumpy all day but DH brought home doughnuts. I really don't know why he puts up with me!

applepieinthesky · 04/11/2012 15:56

Fucking car won't start Sad The last thing I need right now. Have looked up the fault and apparently it is common with this type of car and the part costs £350 plus labour to replace. I haven't got £35 never mind £350.

tits it's getting ridiculous now. Every day they fob you off, I feel so angry on your behalf.

Peaky1 · 04/11/2012 16:12

Ugh, I have nothing in my locker today. Where has my energy gone?!

Had to stay at my parents last night as our one and only toilet decided to block and break (worst nightmare Pass ?) Actually got a good night sleep there though.

Today I have been mostly horizontal (still am right now) despite a good night sleep and 2 hour nap this avo. In my head I need to get moving/bouncing/shagging to get this overdue baby moving but I CBA! Someone tell me this is still a great position for starting labour. I'm twattishly fooling myself that my body is conserving energy for labour later tonight. C'maaaan baby! Also c'maaan mummy and get your arse upright!.......nah

kissyfur · 04/11/2012 16:19

Just had some chocolate chiffon cake as its my brothers birthday Smile was yummy

Titsalinabumsquash · 04/11/2012 16:23

DP has had a major rant. 3rd day of promising to be done, 3rd day of no pain relief, 3rd day of no blood thinning medication and 3rd day of being told sorry but too busy for you now.
Still getting really weak, pointless contractions when laying down only.
Another day wasted away from my kids, my home, my life. I'm really reaching the end of my fight now. I'm tired, frustrated and weary.
Yet women go into labour everyday and come in ahead of me with "more need" tomorrow will be Monday and all the planned inductions/sections will start again and once more I'll be pushed down the cue until the day is over again. Well and truly had enough.

Jims · 04/11/2012 16:55

That's rubbish tits really hope that you get action sooner than tomorrow.

Happy birthday detective

so having had a clean house and full fridge last week there was no action. So i'm going with the empty fridge and dirty house approach now. Plus the toilet infill pipe has sprung a slow leak today. I'm not sure the AA home emergency response person was quite expecting the response 'i'm due on wednesday and booked for a homebirth' when he asked how imminent it was. I was playing the i'm heavily pregnant card at the time! At least they're coming in the morning and it's not actually that bad so we could have cold water upstairs if someone keeps an eye on it. Since the insurance was a freebie with breakdown cover, i can't really complain anyway!

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/11/2012 17:08

Oh tits it sounds awful for you, just want to come up and there and shake some sense into them!

jims my supreme nesting streak has gone a bit wayward too! Still keeping on top of the kitchen and hoovering.

My dad is now on call for when she decides the time is right, he reckons by thurs/ fri she'll be here so we shall see!

Catbag · 04/11/2012 17:37

tits I am SO angry for you right now. This is completely outrageous and I don't know how the hospital staff can see this situation as anything but. I am worrying about your mh right now, because if I had gone through what you have been, mine would be definitely affected. What appalling treatment Angry

Passmethecrisps · 04/11/2012 18:00

peaky the thought of that is bringing me out in a cold sweat! What a nightmare!

Chunkychicken · 04/11/2012 18:14

Baby is moving but ONLY when I prod/poke/encourage. Do I phone the MW? Confused WWYD?

Chunkychicken · 04/11/2012 18:14

Oh and Tits that's truly awful. When is your need considered greater??!! Agonizing pain counts for nothing I guess...

kissyfur · 04/11/2012 18:29

chunky if you are at all worried, give them a call. I rang about the weird pains I had earlier and they reassured me - that's what they are there for Smile
