Just wondering, Detective, why your medical history means you shouldn't be induced?

mrswee · 04/11/2012 18:46

chunky just call them, you will only worry if you don't and you will also spend all night poking your tummy!

tits I'm sorry your are stilll having such a rubbish time!

apple our car almost died at 5.30 am yesterday when DH was on his way to work, he had to call the AA and spend £81 on a part just so he could get to work.... but we also now need to go to the garage and have other stuff fixed because the part went due to other stuff. We don't even have enough money to buy baby stuff we still need, basics like blankets but I guess we can't be without a car either... it would be very hard to get to the hospital without it or for DH to get to work! you have my sympathy!

When we had DD, we didnt have a car and we spent £25 a time getting a taxi to hospital.. 4 times in a week.. we actually wouldn't be able to affrod that this time around.. I'd have to call an ambulance!

Titsalinabumsquash · 04/11/2012 19:09

Sadly pain is never a priority, as long as me and baby are healthy they don't give a monkeys, DP expressed extreme concern for my MH but they just keep saying that they're busy and can't help.
It's annoying that they stop inductions over night, I think we should have the choice, I'm willing to be woken up anytime in the night/early morning if it just gets done.

The amount of women having first babies that have walked in here and been induced and delivered within hours or come in and gone into labour spontaneously is vast and my stupid body was given the kick, it started really well then wound down into these crappy mild "tightenings"

kirrinIsland · 04/11/2012 19:10

chunky I've had that today, I called the labour ward and they told me to come in. I spent half an hour attached to a monitor and everything is fine. I would rather do that and have them think I'm a bit paranoid than leave when there is actually a problem. Just call and ask for advice.

Still nothing really happening here. I was so sure things were kicking off so I'm gutted that it all seems to have ground to a halt. Still got some bloody discharge but I think it is just a show.

Catbag · 04/11/2012 19:11

mrswee We were stuck in the same position when I was having my eldest and we lived about 30 miles from the hospital. My partner tried to ring an ambulance and they told him that they'd charge him £50 as it wasn't a medical emergency! He ended up sprinting barefoot (at 2am) three streets away to beg a lift off our friend's lodger!

applepieinthesky · 04/11/2012 19:21

The AA man came out and couldn't get it started Sad He tried loads of different things but reckons it's to do with the car not reading the key card. He didn't tow it away so I've no idea how much it will cost but I can't afford it right now whatever.

We are quite lucky I suppose because we live a 5 minute walk from where DP works and my mum and dad have got a car each and have said I can borrow one of theirs for as long as I need it. DP is off this week anyway and the food shopping is being delivered tomorrow so it's not a major disaster. Just a hassle I could do without.

Lilliana · 04/11/2012 19:27

Was hoping to come back to find tits had had her baby, so sorry things seem to have stopped.

Just caught up the last 10 pages and now no time to post! First day of mat leave tomorrow so will try to do better

DesperateHousewife21 · 04/11/2012 19:42

Baby has hiccups and everytime she has one it pushes against my cervix, not painful just shows how low she is. I'm dtd tonight I don't care I've got a cold!
Also bought hot chilli sauce for one night this week! Eager beaver I'm only 38 weeks on tues!

blonderthanred · 04/11/2012 19:46

I'm really sorry Tits it all sounded so hopeful. I do know how you are feeling trust me. I am surprised they stop everything overnight, I had one of my procedures at 11pm. Although obvs it meant that if it had worked, DH would have been at home.

I am also really surprised they did not take any notice of your DH talking about your MH. It's appalling and shoddy. I hope to goodness things change overnight. Sending best wishes.

Chunkychicken · 04/11/2012 19:54

Off to hospital to get checked. Prob nothing but better safe than sorry. Rubbish signal so may not be able to report back until later.

kissyfur · 04/11/2012 19:56

Good luck chunky

MissMummy1 · 04/11/2012 20:06

All the best chunky!

Quiet baby day here too but I've felt some movement and it's not uncommon for me to go a whole day with nothing (midwives have said this is perfectly fine with the way my placenta's lying and the strength/now numbness from my torn muscles) so not worrying too much. Can hear a strong heartbeat and movements on doppler so that's good enough for me! Sometimes wish I was able to feel a lot more like most pregnant women - I feel I'm missing out on something!

applepieinthesky · 04/11/2012 20:08

Good luck chunky I'm sure it will be fine but you are doing the right thing getting checked.

tits I am in a right fuck off mood and if I knew what shoddy hospital you were in I would be tempted to call them and give them piece of my mind. It is appalling.

Passmethecrisps · 04/11/2012 20:44

Honestly. What a total heap of bullshit tits is having to put up with. The second minitits is out I hope the whole tits family go apeshit. They are 'too busy' to worry about someone's mental health? What a crock of shit.

Grrrrr!

Best of luck chunky - better safe than sorry. kirrin and kissy what did they say was up? Are they able to identify anything or just tell you there is nothing to worry about?

I am having more pootractions. Proper making me wince and giggle with pain - does anyone else giggle when in pain? When DH was trying to help me get my rings off I was near hysterical with giggles.

My DH came home with some M&Ms for me. Yum yum.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 04/11/2012 20:48

Do any of you other hangers around keep doubting your labour bag and rechecking it or thinking of other things to put in?

Or is it just me?

kissyfur · 04/11/2012 20:54

Agreed pass it's shocking what tits has been going through. Am Angry about it!

The midwife I spoke to didn't think it was anything to worry about, she said baby had probably kicked me hard or moved into an awkward position. I mentioned I had googled placental abruption and she said not to worry about that as there would be other symptoms, said to keep a close eye on things and if bump went hard, or there was any bleeding, or if movements decreased then to ring them again. Tbh I think it was probably wind Blush

Passmethecrisps · 04/11/2012 20:57

Yeah kissy those are the symptoms I read about. Quite scary really as the symptoms are pretty generic.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 04/11/2012 21:05

pass kissy I had that in the middle of the night too, like a sharp stabling pain in my bump and I couldn't, move, my bump was really hard, but it eased off after a bit of wind. Blush

Baby has been moving around today though so I haven't been too worried.

Xx

StuntNun · 04/11/2012 21:11

Being a boring old statistician I calculate that my chances of having this baby tomorrow (39+4) are 6%. I think I'd better stop worrying about every twinge if those are the odds.

OP posts:
Sophiathesnowfairy · 04/11/2012 21:14

How do you work that one it stunt

Sophiathesnowfairy · 04/11/2012 21:17

*out

kirrinIsland · 04/11/2012 21:24

pass they offered no explanation - just said the baby was fine, and to keep an eye on things and call back if any changes.

tits I can't believe the level of care you are getting. A major complaint is needed once you are out the other side of this :(

Alamaya · 04/11/2012 21:45
