Congratulations Jims and Jaylee Grin

pikz · 09/11/2012 16:41

Congratsjims and jaylee

I reckon I shall still be here in December. Feeling rather under the weather today. Have stomach ache is the only way to describe it...not contractions or BH :(

georgee · 09/11/2012 16:50

Congratulations Jaylee and Jims, hurrah for you and your lovely babies! Such great news!

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes today, so lovely of you ladies. As predicted it's been a day in for me as DD still isn't over her bug. However, she did generously give us a lie-in this morning which was brilliant - 6.55 is a record since the clocks changed! Takeaway planned tonight and I got some nice presents including a scarf, handcream and, yes, the wellies.

Actually just wondering whether I'm starting with the bug myself, stomach seems a bit churny. Have a history of coming down with illnesses on my birthday - got chicken pox on my 13th!

For those that feel they are on this thread for the long-haul - me too, completely. I really have no hopeful signs. The only time I get BHs is when the baby's head is right down in my pelvis but then it pops out again and I feel OK. The longest they'll leave me is four weeks today (7 December) so I'm planning for then. Any earlier would be a bonus!

Crossing fingers for Peaky today, also for your sister Passme. And hoping for action really really soon for DH, Detective, Shanelle and Kirrin. Apologies to anyone I've missed! Sounds hopeful for you Fatima!

ShellyBobbs · 09/11/2012 17:08

Brilliant news Jims, that is exactly the birth that I would like (I have my gas and air in the shed though - won't be using it, makes me sick). Absolutely love the name, that is one of my favourites Grin

Chunkychicken · 09/11/2012 17:30

Lovely news Jims and I too am hoping for a similar home birth experience - although maybe not the 9lb+ baby given my DD was only 6lb 5oz :) Frederick is also a name on our 'list' such as it is... Congrats.

Should I assume that the thread is relatively quiet for baby-birthing reasons??!!

Still maintaining the frequent BH but no other signs. That's one thing about being broken in to - it has stopped me symptom spotting!!! Would have liked to have gone out today though, and go for a short walk with DD rather than stay in while new locks are bought or CSIs are being waited on etc. Feel a bit antsy really.

StuntNun · 09/11/2012 17:35

Congratulations Jims on not-so-wee Freddie's arrival.

I've trying to sleep through awful but faint noises as if a small child were determinedly but badly playing an electric keyboard. Cue much burrowing into the pillow wishing I had the energy to go and stop DS1 doing whatever it was making the noise. I have now woken up properly and realised it must be next door's horrible little brat of a girl angelic firstborn... yes, playing her keyboard. Methinks it's time for saxophone practice since loud blarty noises beat inexpert piano noodling every time.

Still hanging in there! Grrrr contractions stopped at lunch time and I've had about 6 since. Gotta go back on that bloody monitor again in a bit. I end up sat on it for hours! They might consider breaking my waters tonight as my heart rate is now high (hoping just dehydration). Can they even do that if cervix is closed? Last time I was examined was about 8am and it was closed and posterior. Not particularly hopeful now after a slow afternoon but I was going like a trooper every 5-6 mins for a good 10 hours or so. What do you want from me for just a centimetre child?!?!

Haha maybe he listened - I just had to drop my phone for the tens boost Grin but it was only a piddly little one.

Another whole day of posts to catch up on!

kirrinIsland · 09/11/2012 17:48

Congratulations jims Thanks

Lilliana · 09/11/2012 17:54

Congratulations Jims, that was fast! Enjoy your new little boy.

Passmethecrisps · 09/11/2012 18:03

chunky we can only hope! I think I have had one actual contraction. Started like a pootraction. But wrapped right round my back and up my bump. Lasted a few seconds. Not had one since.

Looks like curry is on tomorrow!

Congrats Jaylee and Jims. I am sooooo jealous you have your babies and so quickly!! Envy great news.

UPDATE: Still no baby Debussy. Very unusual for 2nd baby to take so bloody long. Waters broke on Wednesday 8pm and have had contractions all through nights since then but they were stopping during day. So today I was booked in at 8am for induction as 36 hrs since waters broke and they said risk of infection they need to give me antibiotics and start labour.

It's now 6pm (10hrs since i arrived) and I am still in the fucking ante natal 'holding area' yet to be seen. I've had 6 hrs sleep since Monday night and feel weak and delirious. Really worried about not having energy to birth thus baby, labour nit even started!! They will put me on syntocin drip hopefully before the day is through. I've spent while day away from my daughter for nothing just to lie in this sweltering ward. It's so hot I can't sleep and have swollen up with the heat (middle of hospital, no windows, no air, poor staff say it's a sauna). So not a happy bunny.

Sorry for rant.

WaitingForMe · 09/11/2012 18:15

Congratulations Jims

I sometimes wonder about DH. I told him to sort food for the boys this weekend as I wouldn't be cooking. Last night was fine, tonight he gets in and asks me to make a cheese sauce because he doesn't know how. So why plan a meal that requires it? I told him to look up a recipe. How did he cope between leaving his ex and getting together with me? I presume he managed to feed the kids then Hmm

I'm writing the time plans for Christmas lunch. All the sides (stuffing balls, bread sauce) are already made (and frozen) so it should be really straightforward but DH does tend to get himself in a flap over simple tasks.

Passmethecrisps · 09/11/2012 18:18

Right, I have a strange rant. 3 different people today alone have told me to use as much pain relief as I can get. What is with that? I have made no comment about pain relief - usage or otherwise.

Is anyone else getting people telling them to use every pain relief possible? I find it really bizarre. I feel like saying "look, I will decide what I do. If I decide I want to have a full body numbing and give birth while watching strictly come dancing and eating a Crunchie then I will do that. Similarly, if I choose to give birth behind a bush with nothing but a stick to bite down on then I fucking well will"

I don't know why it winds me up it just seems strange that people feel it is ok to be so deterministic about something which is categorically nothing to do with them.

It makes me feel a bit like if I say I used nothing but gas and air there will be eye rolling.

I hate being told what to do.

Passmethecrisps · 09/11/2012 18:20

Oh no debussy! That sounds completely exhausting and very frustrating. I really hope you can get some progress very soon.

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/11/2012 18:43

My waters have gone...I'm scared!

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/11/2012 18:46

FIL here to take ds, I can't stop pooing. Pains on and off and feel a bit shaky.

kirrinIsland · 09/11/2012 18:49

Debussy :( How frustrating

DH how exciting :) I'm very jealous Have you phoned the labour ward?

MissMummy1 · 09/11/2012 18:50

FC for babies by morning DH21 and Peaky !

Congrats jims - sounds like you had a great speedy experience!

I have my 2 teenage sisters staying tonight to keep me company while dh is at sea. Me and the eldest are having a girly night in front of the telly (she's promised to paint my toes, yay!) while the youngest (15) is ranting about hating my mum and dad and having to do homework. I can't help but giggle!

MissMummy1 · 09/11/2012 18:51

And debussy and anyone else I've missed!

Passmethecrisps · 09/11/2012 18:58

OMG! Good luck DH! How exciting!

Right. Poor DH just came in - I have been happy as larry all day - and he catches a massive rant about people telling me what to do, feeling smothered etc. I had no idea I was even bothered.

Hormonetastic!

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/11/2012 19:07

On way to hosp now arghhhh!

applepieinthesky · 09/11/2012 19:08

debussy that must be really frustrating, I hope they get you hooked up to the drip soon and that you are snuggling your baby by morning.

Good luck to dh and peaky as well, fingers crossed it won't be long for either of you.

The thread has gone really quiet. It's the first time in a while that one has lasted more than a week.

Lots more nesting today. DP moved our bed to make room for the moses basket and I've done lots of general tidying up and sorting wardrobes out. Also confident I now have everything I need in the hospital bags. Now having my second bath of the day before settling down on the sofa to watch the soaps. So Envy of all these gorgeous little babies being born.

applepieinthesky · 09/11/2012 19:09

Ooh dh you might get a 10.11.12 baby Grin

georgee · 09/11/2012 19:12

So sorry Debussy, that stinks. Really hope for something to help it along asap so you can get on with having that baby before you lose another night's sleep. Will be thinking of you.

DH that is very, very exciting. Bless you, you'll be great. Thinking of you too!

Peaky take care and carry on hanging in there, it will happen for you soon too.

I definitely have the stomach bug now. Ah well, it was pretty inevitable. Just had a satsuma for birthday tea, don't fancy anything else.
