Can't sleep

utopian99 · 02/11/2012 02:00

Neither can i. Just woke up feeling really sick again, last time two weeks ago this heralded a major day of hideousness, really don't want that again. I've had no sleep issues for 32 weeks and the last two have been dreadful.

datingthedevil · 02/11/2012 02:12

Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a while but thought I should stop being anti social and say hello.
I'm due 13th Dec (so am 34+1) with my first. I'm going to be a single mum as unfortunately my ex went all weird and left.
At least that means I can use the name I liked that he previously vetoed Smile.
Anyway, I hope those of you who are awake right now like me get to sleep eventually and I look forward to chatting to you all. xx

2blessed · 02/11/2012 04:30

Welcome dating. That's your ex's loss and i'm sure you will make a great mum!
Can't sleep, nice early night but major tossing and turning.
Had 1st antenatal yesterday and as it was quiet in the home from home birth centre, they snuck in a quick tour. All lovely and it felt reassuring seeing where I will give birth.
Interesting reading thoughts on baby shower. Quite like the idea of "open house" once LO arrives to regulate visitors
Especially as it will be festive season but will feel pressure to do the big catering thing.

pmgkt · 02/11/2012 06:57

Well I slept in the end from 3 til 5. What more could you want then 2 hours sleep, and a dh whose response is "why dont you get some sleeping tables" "im pregnant!" To get "well that's that then isn't it" so much sympathy I love it.

pmgkt · 02/11/2012 06:58

Welcome dating. The more the merrier on here!

Brew

I'm 36 weeks or 9 lunar months today Shock 28 days till due date!

I don't normally do cards, but have quite a few distant elderly relatives (geography and actual relativity iyswim!) who need a birth announcement through courtesy. The kind of people I've only met at funerals, weddings and christenings for the last 30 years, so maybe half a dozen times in my life that i actually remember. There are some even more distant ones who will get a "PidjMum and PidjDad are pleased to announce the safe arrival of their first grandchild"! But those will be made and printed after the birth

Mummycox · 02/11/2012 07:52

Welcome dating!

Hope those that didn't sleep well have a peaceful day.

Have NCT women's only day today followed by a day of nesting. Ah.

SpottyTeacakes · 02/11/2012 08:02

Welcome dating Smile

My last day at work today, feel a bit of a fraud as only 32 weeks but never mind I have lots of things to do in the run up to keep me busy!

I was up at three with heartburn and dd was up at 4:30 not impressed. Might have to invest in a gro clock?

Secondsop · 02/11/2012 08:38

Hello dating, I think we may have met on another thread a while back - I remember that you have the same due date as me (although I'll have an early induction). Hope all is well.

JoJoB77 · 02/11/2012 08:57

Welcome dating

Hope you enjoy your last day today spotty Smile

EggsMichelle · 02/11/2012 09:20

Hello Dating

Been looking at the birth announcement cards you can order, but can't see them arriving in time to put in Xmas cards, so think I will have to use a little creativity and Photoshop and make them myself/get Df to make them.

Someone in the next village has already covered their house in Xmas light decorations, even put a board up with the light switch on date, I don't thing a tree and a couple of lights will be too offensive the end of November!

I'm loving maternity leave, slow and gentle cleaning with lots of knitting, it's amazing!!!

Secondsop · 02/11/2012 09:24

eggsmichelle thanks for validating my November decorations!

PurplePidjin · 02/11/2012 09:29

Michelle, ours will just be 1/8 of a piece of printer paper with a few essential details! Nothing flash, or embossed, or expensive :o

Full name
Date
Time
Weight
Mum and baby doing well.

Cut up neatly, shove in envelope, walk to post box!

emilyeggs · 02/11/2012 09:35

Welcome dating hope you like to chat as us lot do!

32 week today and I have put some bump pics up I took this morning.
I was in the 3 am club yet again, i'm getting use to it now and don't have to star work tll 12 so had a bit of a lie in

Secondsop · 02/11/2012 10:25

Has anyone else got really, really hairy on their legs? I don't normally bother much with legshaving in autumn/winter as I live in knee high boots and am not that hairy normally, but I have just glanced down at my leg and there's a veritable forest. The hair just seems so much LONGER than usual. Just realised that my cleaner must have just seen it and must think I've really let myself go to hell.

SpottyTeacakes · 02/11/2012 10:30

I'm hairy everywhere at the moment seconds Grin also told dp I needed him to cut my toe nails. He said eugh but agreed to do it Grin I might try one last time before I make him do it!

Just had doughnuts with our tea and we're going to get chips from the chip shop for lunch as its my last day and the boss is away its just us ladies in the office!

Secondsop · 02/11/2012 10:48

I can still cut my own toenails. It's a bit of a mystery to me as I'm sure I used to struggle with it pre pregnancy! I just sat on the side of the bed and leant downwards with my knees apart.

Have a lovely last day at work spotty. I'm jealous of your chips and doughnuts.

emilyeggs · 02/11/2012 10:55

I heard if your having a boy you get a bit hairier due to extra testosterone Hmm not sure if it's true though.

MyDaydream · 02/11/2012 11:21

Welcome dating, definitely your exs loss.

I'm not doing birth announcements, I'm relying on word of mouth so I don't have to tell everyone. I've got a list of who's bought us what so far and am going to take some photos of baby with that item and posting them out as thank you cards after the birth.
Spotty enjoy your last day at work, hope your chips and donuts are lovely.
seconds the hair on my legs isn't that bad, I think the hair growth hormones are all getting sucked up by my belly though, which is just getting ridiculous. I'm so glad I'm blonde.
I'm still fine with toe nails, I just sit cross legged and pull the foot up. I'm trying to do them fairly often though so they don't get crazy long and I then realise I can't do them anymore. People aren't allowed to touch my feet, so if I can't do it they just won't get done. I can't put tights on any more though, it crushes bump, and I get out of breath doing it.

Secondsop · 02/11/2012 11:45

emilyeggs I am having a boy, so maybe there is some truth in it!

SpottyTeacakes · 02/11/2012 11:52

I think I was just as hairy with dd Grin

Keep getting a really bad pain below right rib, definitely not baby as he's asleep Hmm and lower down. Ouch.

Secondsop · 02/11/2012 12:12

Spotty perhaps ring the midwife. Mine always ask me if I've got any pain under my ribs that isn't the baby kicking.

SpottyTeacakes · 02/11/2012 12:20

I think that's because it can be a sign of PE but I had bp etc all done on Wednesday

Secondsop · 02/11/2012 12:28

I'd ring them anyway if I were you. I have to have my bp checked twice a week.
