Woo hoo it was a surprise baby shower! Had a lovely day catching up with friends then a nap now we're going to a little fireworks party so will update more tomorrow. Hope you're all well!!

SpottyTeacakes · 10/11/2012 18:42

Deer just ran out in front of us smashed our light Sad

2blessed · 10/11/2012 19:44

Hope you, mini spotty and other passengers are alright. Must have been quite a shock Brew

utopian99 · 10/11/2012 20:19

strawberry how jolly, spotty hope you're okay and not a major bump? Is the deer okay too?

Had a night out with friends last night, followed by some great -ahem- marital fun, Blush then got up at midday after helping dh get some architectural visualisations done in bed on laptops. Exactly like being back at uni, except for small crumb kicking away in objection to being a laptop-rest... Grin

MyDaydream · 10/11/2012 21:17

Spotty I cleaned our oven a few weeks back, just took lots of breaks, didn't stick my head in too far and opened lots of windows. Hope your not too shaken up by the deer.
We've just put the cot up and I've arranged the babies room to look lovely, filled the washing basket up with clothes and now I'm exhausted. I've got out all his clothes ready to wash and filled a washing basket up with stuff so really need to get cracking with that soon. Now I've left DP in charge of our take away and he's pissing about, I'm hungry and still waiting for the cup of tea he promised me five hours ago. I might just order my own pizza and let him starve.

cherrypiew3 · 10/11/2012 21:22

Hello have not posted for a while I do read everything that is going on I am
just lazy.

Honey Glad that you and baby Dash are home and both doing well.

Strawberry A surprise baby shower sounds like you had a good time.

Next weeks seems to be the week for growth scans I have one on Thursday when I will be 36+3.

Hope everyone else is well.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 10/11/2012 21:36

I have a funny feeling that I may end up being diagnosed with GD as my last reading (after dinner) was 10.7 Shock but we'll have to wait and see what the midwife says.

spotty I hope you're all ok! How awful for you!

strawberry I hope you had a great time at your baby shower!

utopian99 · 10/11/2012 21:56

First-timer question: when and how do you buy nursing bras? Presumably until your milk comes in you don't know what size you'll end up but what about the first few days? Muddle through?

PurplePidjin · 10/11/2012 22:08

Utopian, my mum's very clever and experienced independent lady reckons she should be able to predict from week 38. If my mum weren't treating me for my birthday, I'd probably add 2 cups and 2 back sizes, buy Asda cheapies and make with the suspender clips Blush

Cookiesandcoffee · 10/11/2012 22:29

Really hope you're all ok spotty was it a hard impact? Littlespotty all comfy in there still?

utopian I think I heard 36-38 weeks but depends a lot about 'dropping'. I bought one the other day (was £5 in sale) and I wear it now as a mat one too just tighten it a bit. Also, you can get bra extenders from Matalan for a couple of quid if that helps.

Everyone's bumps are so lovely ! And all different too. I love bumps, I'm too shy to post mine Blush I think mine looks smaller (even tho it's grown) in the past couple weeks as I swear everything else has gotten loads bigger too.

Really bad water retention today - hands/fingers are like sausages ! Really feel 'swollen'. I blame Ikea.

I had a growth scan the other day there was no weight given so can't compare although belly and legs were up near the 90th. Hope everyone's goes well, be interesting to know everyone s results.

strawberry sounds nice I hope you had a good time.

Cookiesandcoffee · 10/11/2012 22:31

Nice to hear from you cherry glad you're still around. Was wondering about you and a few others, bubbles as its been a while... If you're out there hope all is well

SpottyTeacakes · 10/11/2012 22:43

We're ok thanks it was a small deer luckily. Stupid thing Angry it wasn't on the road so assume its ok but it was dark. More money we don't have Sad

ellliebelle · 10/11/2012 23:52

spotty willyou looking forward to comparing on wed :) ill be 34+2

ellliebelle · 11/11/2012 00:03

strawb glad you enjoyed your baby shower. I had mine today really loved it :) had a mini facial and kneck and shoulder massage and mini mani and pedi followed by lovely afternoon tea with some great friends and family :) also got some lovely pressi's lots of practical lotions/potions/cotton wool/nappy sacksetc :)

SpottyTeacakes · 11/11/2012 07:18

Strawb that sounds lovely Smile

Stacey it does sound like you have it hopefully you have a good team where you are.

Re nursing bras I'm not sure either. As I will definitely be induced by 38 weeks I'm thinking of going to the local independent expensive shop maybe the day before? Last time my boons were huge but I stopped expressing before they calmed down.

Looking forward to all of our scans next week to compare Grin whoever said they didn't get a weight I think the formula is written on my scan print off ill have a look later!

We're going swimming again today but not to the local place we went to last time as it was bloody freezing. Going to go to the spectrum in Guildford I'm so excited not been since I was young!

Hope everything is well with you Cherry? Ive also been wondering about Bubbless...

Random question after a fb conversation with my sister and her friends..... We use the word somewhen and see it as normal but they've never heard of it, is it a local dialect thing?!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 11/11/2012 07:56

spotty Guildford spectrum is amazing, the kids love it. Ds is fearless and buggers off to all the slides and me and dd float in the water (dd is a huge scaredy cat and won't go in the slides). I hope the team are good but I have a feeling that they will be shit. They're just unorganised and stuff ( hence missing the gtt). Oh well there's only 5 weeks left for them to muck me around!

Slept better last night, really needed it after a few awful nights sleep.

emilyeggs · 11/11/2012 07:57

Somewhen is a new one to me,

SpottyTeacakes · 11/11/2012 08:28

It's a real word I tell you!! Grin

Stacey where are you again? I assume we're not far apart. They do a toddler splash session but 8:30 is too early for us plus we wouldn't get to enjoy the wave machine Wink

FriendofDorothy · 11/11/2012 08:37

Hurray! I feel much better today!

PurplePidjin · 11/11/2012 08:39

www.thefreedictionary.com/Somewhen

It's a word :o

emilyeggs · 11/11/2012 08:52

My phone didn't try to correct it, I'm going to start using it Grin.

Lots of growth scans coming up. I'm not looking forward to my next one. Its made me feel like I'm carrying a freak Sad massive head, big belly and stumpy legs Sad. I'm now also getting quite freaked out about the birth, my pool plan has gone out the window Sad.

pmgkt · 11/11/2012 08:57

What a lovely night I have had. The d and v bug which I thought I had avoided, as the rest of the house had it weeks ago, struck. Tmi but my arse has never been so sore. But piglet decided to also move loads which made me feel sicker, and then I started to get painful bh. I can now keep sips if water down and the bh have died down. Day in bed for me. Dh had to cancel his golf though to look after ds1 so he wasn't happy but no way I could.

olliebob · 11/11/2012 09:00

Hi just wanted to say i am here but mostly lurk, due to not having enough time to post between work, kids and hubby stresses. At least this is my last week in work, so ready for a bit of time off before baby arrrives, with kids in school.

Also wanted to say brilliant news about Dash coming home Honey hope you are all settling in together.

EggsMichelle · 11/11/2012 09:02

I love local dialect, it's amazing how words get so far and then just stop. Moving from Leicester to Bristol to Nottingham was amazing for that. Leicester having Mardy and Croggy, and Bristol having Gert and Arc at ee.

I was wondering about Bubbless the other day too, hope everything ok.

I posted about the feeding bras on the pregnancy forum, consensus appeared to be get fitter after/as close to 38wks as possible, and everyone who posted either loved or hated M&S.

Went to the best gig of my life last night, an acoustic set of our favourite band The Subways, lead singer was in the crowd next to us whilst the support band were on and posed for photos, then he played our wedding dance song (one of their songs) but he hasn't played if at gigs for years, just amazing!

Laundry and ironing day today whilst watching Hollyoaks, then to make the cover for the Moses basket.

AlisonDB · 11/11/2012 09:31

Strawberry, glad you had fun, hope you where able to act surprised enough! :-)

Spotty, Glad you are ok! Stooopid deer!!
No I'd never heard of somewhen before,
Also funny how some words become family words too, my DH uses the word vexed whenever he's cross, apparently his G8-nanna used it and it stuck!
Local dialect is also funny, I'm from Liverpool but my dad moved to Lancashire when my parents got divorced, aged 7,
My accent is a bit of a mash up between slight Liverpool accent with occasional Lancashire words and phrases!

I have my last appointment with my midwife this friday and im then transfered fully to consultant care, when i have another growth scan with her a week next Wednesday,
My baby is on the small side, so will hopefully find out more about being induced then.

I think i may be turning into a paranoid freek but I just can't help it,
So yesterday we where mad busy, and I hardly felt Pippi move,
Last night went to bed and somewhere around 3.00 I woke to go to the loo, and realised I'd not felt Pippi move at all, so I spent the next hour prodding, poking, shining torch lights onto the bump, playing music, drinking ice cold water, everything I could think of to get some movement,
To which in the end he started kicking and thrashing about (and hasn't stopped since,
The thought of getting this far and something horrid happening fills me with dread!!

Now I feel like I'm a total nutjob!
Anyone else feel like/act like this or am I really loosing the plot, (I don't recall doing this with DS1) but maybe that was cos his preg was easy, and not stressful like this one?
