Hehehe WeeJo it does sound a bit mad when you put it all together like that!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 05/11/2012 17:47

Piles after labour? I've been battling mine for weeks Sad Envy

Well I lost a bit of plug but no blood or anything....I'm thinking I'm safe for a week or so. Dd was 8lb 4oz at 42 weeks so this one really is getting ahead of herself! I blame dh as he and his whole family are huge, you know marshall in how I met your mothers family? Bit like that but more of them.

Grin at dates up fanjo!!

HoneyMum21 · 05/11/2012 17:52

Shock at baby sizes. Dash is just back up to his birth weight and I still keep looking at him and wondering how the hell he came out of me and he was only 4lb 14

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 05/11/2012 17:55

Lol you lot are all mad! Well I have my GTT tomo morning now, and as my midwife is useless I have no idea what I need to do to prepare, can u lot help?

FriendofDorothy · 05/11/2012 17:57

No food or drink before you go in. Clear fluids only.

They will do your first blood test and then give you a sugary drink and do another blood test a couple of hours later. Hopefully they will give you something to eat once you are all done and dusted!

SpottyTeacakes · 05/11/2012 17:58

Honey that's good news Smile I always thought that about dd's head as it was 36cm when she was born. What was Dash's? I'm really worried about this one as he's already top of the chart in size, I'm only small!

AlisonDB · 05/11/2012 17:59

Clarella, OMG I actually spat my tea out at your not putting Dates up the fanjo comment! 😂

HoneyMum21 · 05/11/2012 18:04

spotty don't know about head size - they don't seem to do measurements here anymore (some kind of new guidelines that will orob change in 3 days time). I do keep looking at him and trying to work out how he actually fit inside my belly. Although the length of his arms and legs do explain some of the weird lumps ac bumps I could see in my side most of the time!

Cookiesandcream06 · 05/11/2012 18:11

Aww honey it's giving me warm fuzzys just thinking about him Smile hope all is well.

Sorry to those eating dinner .. So ANOTHER big mucusy loss- literally the size of a 50p.. In fact I would say bigger maybe.. No blood or anything still. Should I be concerned? Who was it who mentioned they had had a swab done and were awaiting results?

MaMaPo · 05/11/2012 18:23

Gosh, I know that the doctors/midwives are always asking if the baby is active, and to contact them if it's not - but is there such a thing as too active? My bean has been quite active all day, but within normal range, and I just got home, sat down and had a weak hot chocolate and the thing has gone bonkers. My whole belly is shifting and moving, makes me almost seasick to watch it. There have been a couple of jabs in my lower left belly that have made me gasp and jump, and generally it is very uncomfortable! Has anyone else had this experience? I feel bruised from the inside!

Now that I write this the bean seems to have calmed down a bit, but man. I think there might have been some hiccups earlier, so maybe bean is just uncomfortable and is tossing and turning.

Oof.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 05/11/2012 18:27

Thanks friend god knows how I'll get to 10am without eating!!

emilyeggs · 05/11/2012 18:29

Ha ha clarella date up the fanjo! Grin

PurplePidjin · 05/11/2012 18:29

Nipple tweaking stimulates oxytocin production according to my antenatal classes.

I definitely swing between "oh, so tiny" when looking at vaby clothes etc and "holy fuck how does something that big get out of there"

emilyeggs · 05/11/2012 18:34

So now we are talking poos pills dates plugs and piles! So funny!

MyDaydream · 05/11/2012 18:36

Stacey not eating made me feel really woozy, so if you don't feel well tell them and they'll let you have a lay down. I didn't say anything until the very end but they were lovely and made me wish I'd said something earlier, they were very happy to get me a cup of tea before I left.
I keep holding baby clothes/shoes up to my bump and panicking. I think I was a big-ish baby too so convinced I'm going to have a giant, with massive feet and hands just like daddies!
MaMa I think hot, sweet drinks get them going, isn't that one of the things they suggest if you don't feel movement? Or it's one of the things that gets mine going at least.

Clarella · 05/11/2012 19:15

Good to hear its poss not to poo in labour :)

Such good news about Dash honey! Grin

Oo post preg piles I shall be demanding
this as was amazing at dealing with some caused a few years ago following quite a while not being on right dose of thyroxine for a year resulting in extreme constipation - tend to only use for a couple of days and you're sorted. But I will be checking its ok to bf. Its a clear ointment not horrid white, and has hc plus a mild anesthetic. The anusol hc was actually prescribed to me the other day but decided to stick to the bog standard for now. and actually not needing at mo :)

Had the most ferocious bh coupled with Lo pushing himself under ribs in car earlier I stalled on a roundabout unable to lean forward to do anything - all ok but rather mad - felt like whole body was filled with concrete and then a balloon had been inflated inside me - doubting yoga's gonna be much good tonight but want to give kind lady who gave me a ton of baby stuff a cake to say thanks.

Shock and [worry] at sizes....

Secondsop · 05/11/2012 19:34

Is anusol really the name of the pile cream? As if it isn't bad enough asking for pile cream, you have to say the word anusol?

EggsMichelle · 05/11/2012 19:35

Welcome Jade!

Had my first antenatal class today, all about active labour, made me quite excited about the actual event. They discussed sex during labour, and apparently orgasms are good for labour (that's a one woman job for you Dating, no man required!)

I wonder how many women poo during labour, but it's cleared away and you never no it happened? And are piles to be expected? I've never had them Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 05/11/2012 19:38

Seconds it's ok you don't have to ask for it you can just pick it up off the shelf Grin

I don't know anyone who didn't get piles put it that way.....

CODwidow · 05/11/2012 19:38

I think sex is only good if your already dilating tbh, nipple tweaking is proven to work or get your uterus contracting anyway (as I learnt during my nurses training) but most women find it goes off once they stop tweaking! Grin anything that irritates your bowels will cause your uterus to contract also so dates, pineapple, spicy curry or castor oil/laxatives but whether it puts you into labour is another thing! Smile

MyDaydream · 05/11/2012 19:43

seconds Anusol is the subject of a recurring argument in our house. DP insists it's pronounced Annus-ol and won't back down, whenever it's mentioned one of us (usually me) gets to look a bit smug and say told you so.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 05/11/2012 19:45

I never got piles and I've had 2 babies do far so it's possible. :)

WillYouDoTheFandango · 05/11/2012 19:47

stacey you need to fast for 12 hours before hand so your last meal may be approaching!

Weird day here, I had a never ending thirst this morning - 3.5l in 2.5 hours! Then I walked to the supermarket and got a huge stitch (probably a 6 on the pain scale) which went after a ten minute sit down. Now I've not really felt him move for a while. Going to try my usual fail safe of a hot drink and if that doesn't shift him think I'll ring the maternity unit.

Very Envy of any pile free ladies! I've had them since I was 13 and they're only going to get bloody worse! Grin

brooke89 · 05/11/2012 19:53

All is fine, went docs then to day assesment so embarrassing that as soon as they put the trace on baby would stop moving after me saying I've hardly felt it!

Ooohh my god at piles talk - I never knew that! And dates up there??!!

brooke89 · 05/11/2012 19:53

Wouldnt*
