Can I ask a quick question? Is it baby's head making me feel like razors are sliding out of my lady bits/urethra when I walk? Had some BH and movement from baby so not worried but it feels a bit... weird!! Hmm

Passmethecrisps · 23/10/2012 23:01

Yikes chunky I have no idea but it sounds awful!

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 23/10/2012 23:25

tits I would try get a consultant appointment and aim to discuss induction there. I don't hold out much hope for me as my own guy basically told me no he wouldn't consider til due date but today's was lovely.

detective any advice you can send either of us would be much appreciated!

wellieboots · 23/10/2012 23:38

Wow wow wow! Well done yellowwellies. So glad you got your island birth just like you wanted and welcome to the world jonas, awesome name!

Glad they look after you on the island, enjoy the snuggles and give mrwellies time to clean the house after the big shock of the early arrival!

Iheartpasties · 24/10/2012 01:39

Lovely to hear everyones news. So funny to get an update from MrWellies, I dont think I would give my dh my password!! A lovely name for their LO. And so great that the birth went well.

Cant't wait to hear more baby news from rowing.

I am amazed at your burst of energy shelly, dont over do it though! I am aching just from doing the bathroom and laundry (three loads, but horay I can see the floor on the laundry again!!!). It's sunny and windy, a great laundry day (saddddddo). I will say I feel better for doing a few bits today, it does clear the mind.

I am a shuffling zombie when I get up in the night for a wee, its agony getting up out of bed, and then it is relief when I've managed a pee.

We had a new shower head and hose fitted on Monday and it's super lush! We had a rather crappy one all this time (nearly a year), but we rent so you just go with it. But it sprung a few leaks so I asked for a new one, and its lush! You cant beat a proper hot shower or bath for relaxation.

I'm still not sure on our boys name! Girls name I think I will wing when I see the baby, but thats because I have lots of lovely ones in mind, but with a boy I am changing my mind lots and lots! Still it's a fun hobby to have at the moment.

It's interesting to hear how lots of partners are reacting in the build up to the birth. I am sure they must have lots of bottled up feelings about it all.

georgee · 24/10/2012 01:52

Sounds horrendous tits. Really hope you find a light at the end of the tunnel today.

Well, I'm up after less than 3 hours' sleeping, with no idea of when I'll be able to sleep again. MIL and FIL are in the spare room and I just can't sleep in our bed with DH. Bump itches and I'm just AWAKE. Plus every time I lie down I get a load of acid in my throat. So I thought I might as well try some work. Luckily MIL will take DD tomorrow am so I think I'll just have to sleep as much of the morning as I can instead.

Hope the rest of you (apart from our Australian buddies!) are getting some sleep.

FatimaLovesBread · 24/10/2012 01:57

I managed to get an hour and a half-ish of broken sleep, woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. Combination of acid, 2 sore jab arms, sore hips and DH being like a gale force wind with his breathing. Been on the sofa with the duvet for the last two hours hoping I'd fall asleep but ended up watching 3 episodes of QI.
Going to go back to bed now and attempt some sleep [yawn]

georgee · 24/10/2012 02:03

G'luck Fatima!

rowingdowntheriver · 24/10/2012 02:19

Louis Was born at 9.13 on Monday weighing 7lb 4oz and is doing well.

He literally doesn't stop feeding - which is what he is doing now - had hoped for a couple of nights of calm before the feeding frenzy kicked in but he has different ideas!

Think I will be spending alot of time on mumsnet and Facebook over the next few months!

FatimaLovesBread · 24/10/2012 02:29

Wow congratulations rowing! Love the name.

I lasted 10 minutes in bed, I don't know how DH can breathe so loudly Confused I suppose at least it's not snoring but still no way of me getting to sleep. I end up focussing on it and get frustrated.
Now downstairs watching tv again, would it be ridiculous to run a bath?

georgee · 24/10/2012 02:31

Hey wonderful news rowing, congratulations! Great weight, lovely name. Hungry boy, sounds like! Yeah definitely use mumsnet, there's always one of us awake at any one time (it's like a rota just to make sure the thread is manned!) Take care and enjoy your lovely newborn. x

georgee · 24/10/2012 02:33

No Fatima have a bath, good idea. I wish I could but DD would wake up as the hot water tank is next to her room. Having a lovely cuppa instead. Work isn't going too badly - you can get a bit of focus in the wee hours when you're not distracting yourself on Mumsnet.

Iheartpasties · 24/10/2012 02:59

georgee you're working?! madness!! I hope you get some rest soon.

Have a lovely bath fatima you might be able to wind down a bit. My dh breaths so damn loud i could strangle him!!!!

rowing lovely to hear from you!!!

Iheartpasties · 24/10/2012 03:01

rowing I'm hopeless, is it Lew-ey or Lew-is? :)

katkit1 · 24/10/2012 03:16

Congratulations Rowing. Chunky ouchie, I don't have the razor blade feeling but I do feel like there is a constant presence of head in my pelvis which makes my walk very strange - there is also a sort of gentle, consistent pressure.

georgee · 24/10/2012 03:36

Hi pasties, yes, getting loads done in the peace and quiet. Just one more small thing and I'll have done all I needed to do today. Of course I'll probably get up tomorrow, read it through and it will all be a load of rubbish ...

I can't complain about DH's breathing, he's generally v quiet. I'm the one that snores ATM Blush.

FatimaLovesBread · 24/10/2012 04:15

Had a bath with a lovely cup of sugary tea; also cleaned the bathroom, folded some washing and emptied and reloaded the dishwasher.
Now back on the sofa watching Everybody Loves Raymond.
I feel like I'm coming down with something, all achey. Wonder if it's side effects from the flu jab?

georgee · 24/10/2012 04:17

I'd imagine so Fatima. Just keep an eye on it though. Good for you for being so industrious! I just have to send one email and then I might try to get some kip (not fancying my chances there but worth a try).

rowingdowntheriver · 24/10/2012 06:17

Well, he slept til 6 so I got a whole 2 hours sleep!

iheart, it's pronounced Lewey and don't worry As DFIL made the same mistake! We were really undecided about the name until a couple of hours after he was birn and had actually been about 80% certain that we were going to call him Leo. Not sure why we had the sudden change of mind asvI still think Leo is a nice name too.

chunky, peeing razor blades sounds a bit like thrush or some other UTI to me but I'm no expert. Might be worth mentioning it to a GP?

Cacacaz · 24/10/2012 06:31

Congratulations Rowing Louis is a lovely name Grin

TheDetective · 24/10/2012 06:50

Am off to the fucking Sainsburys half price toy sale. Urghhhhhhh. Don't want to go! My alarm woke me up!! I figured I'd go coz I'd be awake anyway! GRRRR!

Best be some bargains - gonna get all the family kids sorted. DS doesn't want toys apparently. Well not the kind I'd be able to get half price in Sainsburys like last year.... No!

ValiumQueen · 24/10/2012 06:57

Morning all. DD2 slept all night for the first time in weeks. I have been awake since 5 with pains regularly every 30 mins. Section booked for tomorrow so ignoring them and not telling DH. Will rest today but obviously if baby decides to come I will not be able to ignore for long.

Congratulations rowing DD loves the name Louis and keeps asking to call baby that.

Babies coming in at good weights. I may be a tad embarrassed if I do have a 11lber!

StuntNun · 24/10/2012 07:06

Detective is your DS getting to the age where they just want money for Christmas? My DSs love getting Game gift vouchers or even better, cold hard cash! But they would probably just go and spend the lot on Hot Wheels tries to stuff the unfeasibly large Hot Wheels box under the bed.

I'm going to carry out an expedition to find baby bedding today. It's got to be there somewhere!

Congratulations rowing, Wellies and chick and anyone else I've missed as the thread moves so fast.

Good day here. Tidied the house, sent all of Dh's shirts & suits off to the cleaners (because I really NEVER intend to learn how to iron a shirt), and popped out at lunch with DD. Bought some books for DD and finally bought newborn clothing for due DS. I have lots of unisex stuff from DD but it's all being bloody shipped and I was too daft to bring some of it with me.

No excuse not to pack my hospital bag now... anyone else not done it yet?

ComradeJing · 24/10/2012 07:13

Oh VQ good luck for tomorrow and fingers legs crossed that nothing happens today.
