Flowery congratulations on the scan - I just wanted to say you will be in my thoughts because like gummi, I too know how hard it is to worry no matter how hard we try to stay positive. It sounds like you are in great hands though. DD1 was really small at our 20 weeks scan but everyone dismissed us when we questioned it - so its great to hear you are being well looked after and monitored.

pinkpeony4 · 26/10/2012 14:23

Flowery Congratulations on your scan and your dd. Glad they are keeping an eye on her. Some babies are just tiny. My friend had full term babies who were born under 5lbs. They are now larger than average Children.

Grotty is this your first baby? Boys are really lovely. So affectionate and straightforward Smile did you try the Chiro? I hope your back is feeling better.

Emerald Welcome & good luck for your scan. I personally love knowing. I think it's a surprise whenever you find out. We didn't find out with ds1 and I actually hated referring to him as it etc.. Especially with my other children, I like referring to the baby as their brother/sister/he/she. I think it makes it more real for them. But then I am very impatient & some people prefer to wait and see.

Stormy I was totally fine after my flu jab, just a sore arm for a few days but no illness.

Sheldon shame about the coat. Have you seen any other good ones?

All good here. Still totally trying to get my head around the idea of a girl. It has been a massive shock! I was totally used to the idea of a 4 boy family. It's exciting though & I can't wait to see my boys with a sister and to see what/who she looks like. I have been bracing myself for some insensitive comments from people who looked horrified by the idea of 4 boys though. Barely slept last night thinking about it. Been reading my name book but dh has so far vetoed every name I have suggested. I think it could take a while to come up with something we both agree on.

Hope everyone else is Ok. Any scans today?

StormyBrid · 26/10/2012 15:05

Good news on the name front - we finally hit on a boy's name we both like!

Inevitably, Stormageddon is a girl.

All good news, everything where it should be, right size for dates, and we got an awesome picture of a foot - that's one less limb to check manually when she comes out. The man is looking a bit shellshocked, I think it may have just got a lot more real for him.

GummiberryJuice · 26/10/2012 16:54

Congratulations stormy on a dd

Pink I'm excited for you, it will be such a change for you

Have we evened up or do we have more girls than boys from those that have found out

pinkpeony4 · 26/10/2012 17:03

Stormy huge congrats to you on your baby girl. It's been a week for girls hasn't it?! Grin I have just been to baby Gap & bought a very cute pink stripy babygro. It was v strange indeed being in the girls dept!!

TheAngelsHaveTheOod · 26/10/2012 18:25

v long day as the only person in (out of 8) luckily there was no crisis as I wouldnt be very quick to respond!
2 weeks off now and I've left my desk all packed up as I'm not going back to it :( brought a box home with me too :(

theTramp · 26/10/2012 18:26

Great news scanners. I'm really rather chuffed you've a wee girl coming pink. I just love the idea of her three brothers looking after her. In theory it's adorable. I did use in theory.. ;)

So our sofa saga continues...

In addition to being 6 weeks late cause manufacturer didn't deliver it it turns out The manufacturers F'd up. So instead of being 260 by 260 it's 250 by 230. So too small. And our contrasting cushions are the wrong shade of green too. (sigh).

So we are using weekend to decide - do we keep and demand half our money back and new contrasting cushion covers. OR do we use as a loaner and wait for sofa we asked for to get built?

If we go for former it would mean we could splash out on the spinning live seat that I have been olin love with for 3 years but sacrificed for more practical larger corner sofa solution.

It's annoying whatever way I look at it. Although fair play to cust service lady she called, provided advanced warning and apologised profusely. Ho hum.

It's bloody comfy mind. And v green! :)

theTramp · 26/10/2012 18:26

Love seat - not sure what a live seat is, sounds scary.

theTramp · 26/10/2012 18:34

Shel - what a total pain that coats no good. If you're feeling splurgy I say try the Jaeger swing coat ;) m.jaeger.co.uk/index.cfm?page=2209&productid=580039D&productvarid=580039D-00800-18&refpage=women-coats&view=2&searchpage=1&pagesize=34

It's working for me!

Hi quick update from me
Had my 20 week scan today and have to go back on Monday to see a consultant ax baby is very small. Measurements all 10th ptl except femur length which is below 5th. Baby wax lying in awkward position and had to go for a walk twice to try to get it to move. No structural problems but odd white line in tummy which they said could just be fluid in baby's tummy.
Other 3 ds all had fat heads and tummies and smaller legs bug never had as small as this.
Sonographer thought could just be small baby and most likely not dwarfism but I can't help but worry.
Guess the consultant scan on Monday will give more info.
Am hoping if is just all the work/ house move stress/ total exhaustion is sleepless nights with my toddlers and morning sickness that has contributed to this but am so worried.
Anyone else measured small??

StealthToddler · 26/10/2012 20:31

Can't type!!! Sorry for mistakes....

theTramp · 26/10/2012 21:40

Stealth - I think you and Flowery are having similar worries. Can only repeat what I said to flowery. Focus on fact that baby is healthy and happy. Set yourself up a list of questions that you want to ask your consultant next week, doesn't matter how silly you think they might sound, and try not to worry too much. Which sounds impossible I know.

zoeymlucas · 26/10/2012 22:13

Sorry to hear that Tramp and fingers crossed for Monday- maybe baby is in the middle of a growth spurt and legs are last bit? Mine was always small for dates and then suddenly caught up to be in target and is now on large side x

zoeymlucas · 26/10/2012 22:35

I meant stealth sorry it's been a very long day- not only work all day but DH invited his sisters round for the evening so have had no chill out time at all!

mandasand · 26/10/2012 23:36

Flowery and Stealth, sorry to hear about your worries about small measuring babies. Like others have said, please don't worry yourselves sick when in all likelihood they are just small babies and will grow just fine. Thinking of you both, though. It's worrying enough, just being pregnant, without stats to stress us out Thanks

Hope party prep is under control, Tramp! And costume? Love pirate baby thinking Smile but what on earth is a spinning love seat (nevermind live seat!)?!

Thanks again, everyone, for all the cleaner advice :-) Am really looking forward to it getting it sorted now.

Hurray for good scan Stormy!

Ood only person in out of 8?!! I'd have gone home! Enjoy your two weeks off.

Ethel, is cold any better? Hope you get a good night's sleep.

Tunisian crochet, Vivee - impressed!

What do your boys think of having a baby sister, Pink? Or are you trying to get your head around it first before breaking the big news?!

Three, how great that you know your new cleaner already. Very reassuring.

JoJo, hope you're feeling alright and looking after yourself with that flu Sad

Welcome Emerald! Always room for a new Marcher!

Well I was in Reading today and oh my word I am a wreck! I had only a few hours sleep, in between worries and tears, last night, and I probably wouldn't have gone in had I not arranged to meet an American colleague who's in town for a week for lunch. I had people tutting at me for walking too slow in town, a woman thrust her luggage bag into my bump in the loo queue at the station, and all sorts of annoying stuff. Spent £30 on cabs because bump hurt a lot today. Day ended nicely tho: we decided to go to our lovely local village pub for dinner and it was such a good decision. Then Ocado came with our shopping. Now we're all cosy. Though my bump still hurts. Must be growing some more :-o

theTramp · 27/10/2012 01:10

Hope bump pain is gone tomorrow manda. Love seat fits two nice & cozily, or just me curled up v v comfily with a book ;) and it can spin round.

I'm knackered. More cleaning to be done in morning. BUT lions share was done today. I've de cob webbed everywhere (real ones not fake ones that = decs) and have scrubbed kitchen - including emptying all cabinets and bleaching clean etc (been bugging me for months), descaled kettle, repressed wine rack.. All the important party prep ;) Bar stools and sofa (as it is) are installed. Furniture rearranged. Floors cleaned. Washing done. Play list (cause DJ can't make it) sorted and I'm exhausted!

Up tomorrow to finish clean, put up decs, put together costume, hopefully have a relaxing mani/pedi (or just a nap) and then it all kicks off at 4pm. I'm not expecting much sleep sat night so Sunday is my sleeping catch up and of course the post party clean up (seems cruel doesn't it!).

We have an expected 96 coming so my estimate of actually making it's is more like 60-70. But I may be surprised by a full quotient. It'll be fun (it will it will it will). An then no more parties planned by me til Socs is at least 9 months old. That's a good year off party planning.

Hope everyone wakes up feeling bright eyed & bushy tailed tomorrow.

theTramp · 27/10/2012 01:12

Manda - grrr to bump shovers. Hope karma gets them where it hurts.

OoooOoooOoood · 27/10/2012 08:44

We are off to Salford today for a CBBC tour. Hoping there's lots of chairs!

zoeymlucas · 27/10/2012 09:20

How bloody rude to bump shoving Manda I hope you told her very loudly to strop bein an inconsiderate troll so everyone heard- I would of done!!! And it's not as if you don't look, pregnant some people are just self centred!!!!!

Off shopping for a snuggly dressing gown and stuff to start on cot bumpers-'god I feel old all of a sudden!! Didnt really sleep well which didn't help and was for no reason at all but just laid there for hours which is so frustrating!

Hope you have a fab party tonight tramp it sounds amazing- we have plans we'd, thur, fri next week,so think by sat I will be passed out and as fun as it will be am sort of dreading it as still always tired!!!!!

Happy Saturdaybeveryone and will chat later

mandasand · 27/10/2012 09:35

Ohhhhh Tramp I think we have an armchair one of those in the lounge, but we call it a snuggler! Smile It doesn't spin though - that sounds fun!

Bump is still very painful on the left side. Takes about 2-3 mins to get from lying down to sitting up on edge of bed. Hmm. Hoping it's just growing pains or wind! Had a crap night, waking in general hip discomfort every 2-3 hrs. Last night I thought 'I'm not leaving this house till the babies come' because I felt such a wreck. The idea of hibernating till Feb does rather appeal right now.

Your party sounds amazing Tramp and well done on the prep. Methinks cleaning out the cupboards, tho, was more about nesting than party prep, hehe!!

Zoey I did say 'Ow!' very audibly to the bump pusher! I also am doing a lot more of just standing still on the pavement when people don't move. It embarrasses DH a bit but it works a treat in getting people to move when you can't do so at all quickly!

Ooh I got a new snuggly dressing gown for my birthday. It's sooo nice.

Convinced boiler is broken. DH convinced I just didn't press right button (possible). Bloody freezing outside the duvet!

Happy Saturdays!

Morning all

Tramp Have a good party don't do too much today or you'll be too tired tonight to enjoy

Stealth hope everything is ok on Monday, as I said to flowery I had this with dd2, both my girls were 6 lber's but ds in between was was 8 6, so they had me up and down to hospital with dd2 as she was measuring small, now I think maybe ds was just big. One midwife confided in me that she hated how much they relied on statistics and measurements as babies are all different and most cases it just worries parents for nothing

Manda is bump.any better, I need to light fire t'is freezy here

Cant wait for scan on Tues

GummiberryJuice · 27/10/2012 10:33

Ood a tour of CBBC tell us more, enjoy
