Secondsop · 28/10/2012 20:13

emily once you go memory foam you never go back. I've found it particularly good during pregnancy when I can't sleep in very many positions.

StrawberrytallCAKE · 28/10/2012 20:16

Ah jojo that's where i went to get my hair done on Friday! I got a dream genii at about 20 weeks and slept without it for the first time last night (last relaxing night away with dh before baby) and today I have felt like I'm being stabbed repeatedly in the crotch every step I take!!! It is ace for me, hope it works as well for you.

JoJoB77 · 28/10/2012 20:22

Ouch strawberry! I do love bham but it was sooo busy today. where did you have your hair done?

pillow Sounds promising then, i'll let u all know how it goes tonight Smile

StrawberrytallCAKE · 28/10/2012 20:25

Toni & guy but it's because my local one really messed it up so I had to go there for them to fix it. I love it there too but it is crazy when we're this pregnant. Did you take a mamas and papas trip?

JoJoB77 · 28/10/2012 20:35

Yes got it from mamas & papas, was a few quid cheaper than mothercare too which was a nice bonus. I could have spent ages looking in there but DD threw a huge tantrum when we pulled her off a rocking horse so had to make a swift exit.

Not sure i'll brave it again this year, i feel the need to protect my bump whenever i'm walking round the bullring Smile

Hope they managed to get your hair to how you wanted it Smile

utopian99 · 28/10/2012 20:37

Back from lovely weekend pottering aimlessly with DH and bump shoot yesterday. He's obscenely photogenic and I'm really not, but we got two good ones, yay! (very self indulgent really, but hey.) Really hope the crumb inherits a few more of his genes when it comes to photos..

JoJoB77 · 28/10/2012 20:37

Sorry that last bit reads back awful & not how i meant it to come across Blush. Just meant to say hope your hair is lovely!

I'll shut up now Grin

MyDaydream · 28/10/2012 21:24

emily enjoy your bed, we got one last month and it's amazingly comfortable, especially on bump.
JoJo I've found loosening or taking off my bra when I'm breathless for no reason can help when it's at it's worst.
My mum brought us some M&S biscuits that were meant to be for Christmas, mine and DPs will power lasted as long as it took to boil the kettle!

WerewolvesDoTheFandango · 28/10/2012 21:37

Jojo I think sometimes the breathlessness on standing can be due to low blood pressure if that's been a problem for you?

StrawberrytallCAKE · 28/10/2012 21:54

jojo that didn't sound bad at all :) its a bit orange with blonde at the end but I'm starting to really like it! I'm not sure whether it was sleeping without the pillow after all as I just had a little bit of the plug come out, about the size of a penny.

Cookiesandcream06 · 28/10/2012 22:22

strawberry I had quite a lump the other day, really was gross, must have been plug right? Really having a sob this evening feeling so so uncomfy/fed up and tired and still can't fecking sleep! Seriously had enough SadAngry DP isn't helping matters. Anyone else an emotional wreck?!

Walnut8 · 29/10/2012 04:08

Yes, emotional wreck here. Actually I've upped my iron supplements (to avoid threat of transfusion) and I think I'm feeling a little less tired and emotional ...
Took DD to the doctor and came back with antibiotics for ear, chest and throat infection, hooray. I'm hoping she gets over all these illnesses (one after another for months now) before the baby is born.

Had a bikini and eyebrow wax and eyelash tint. Feeling a lot neater. Now I bet I go overdue. Still havent packed hospital bag or wiped clean the moses though!

Bellaboo123 · 29/10/2012 05:50

Hey all I was getting extremely tired, breathless and emotional and generally feeling crap last week. Went to docs and it turned out that I had a urine infection but all that I was just over doing it and needed to slow down. Took 2 1/2 days off work last week and literally did nothing and I have to say I do feel a bit better - back to work today and some how have to find a way to step back and change gear...so hard when it's not natural.

honey you're updates are fab, keep them coming! I hope you and Dash are doing well, have they said when you can both go home yet?

Bed tossing and turning for hours don't need to get up yet....fell asleep at 830 last night...damn clocks changing lol!

Happy Monday everyoneSmile

WerewolvesDoTheFandango · 29/10/2012 07:16

Just woke myself up sobbing. these vivid dreams are fine when they're funny, but I was hysterical after this one. Not done this since I was around 5! Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 29/10/2012 07:21

I'm not feeling emotional at the moment I'm feeling quite excited Confused think it's a mixture of finishing work Friday, Christmas shopping and fortnightly scans!

I am getting fed up of my family, probably BU, but they keep going on about when they can have dd (my step mum has her on one of the days I work) once I've finished work and tbh I just want her to myself and I can't be bothered to even think about tomorrow let alone the next few months. Plus dd is always a nightmare after she comes home because she eats rubbish and watches too much cebeebies whilst she's there Angry rant over Blush

Bellaboo123 · 29/10/2012 07:27

spotty I don't blame you make the most of your time just the two of you as it'll be a change soon.

This last trimester feels like time is standing still argh!!! It's like being a kid again and waiting for Christmas. 34 weeks tomorrow...

SpottyTeacakes · 29/10/2012 07:28

Envy of your 34 weeks!

StrawberrytallCAKE · 29/10/2012 07:50

spotty I could hve written that about my pil, they had dd on Saturday night and she came back as devil child. She is usually lovely and agreeable and her nursery teachers liken her personality to the princess in enchanted but after a day and night eating god knows what and watching tv (it's Disney jr with them) she was horrific. I also know what you mean about keeping her to yourself, it'll be the last time. I'm scared of giving birth without her, obv I would never have her in with me but she told me she wants to hold my hand to make me feel better Sad.

35 weeks today Grin no more plug as yet cookies it was kind of like clear snot, sorry tmi. Sorry you're feeling rubbish, have you had your iron levels checked?

SpottyTeacakes · 29/10/2012 07:55

Ah glad I'm not the only one. Also after Christmas she'll be in nursery two mornings a week so I definitely don't want her gone anymore!

gilsbubbles · 29/10/2012 08:25

Quick question, is anyone planning on buying christmas presents for the new baby? We'd decided not to. Far too much going on and it's not as if they'll know. But when I mentioned this to some friends they were shocked and talked about how magical their first christmas with baby was.

SpottyTeacakes · 29/10/2012 08:43

gils we are buying a 'my first Christmas' bauble (the mamas and papas one to match dd's) and that's it we've had a similar reaction off some people but I think it would a ridiculous waste of money that could be spent on nappies etc! Plus other people will be buying him things I'm sure. I mean what does a two week old need for Christmas?!

HoneyMum21 · 29/10/2012 08:45

We werent planning on buying presents for LO when we expected him to arrive in December as we were viewing next Christmas as his first proper Christmas and this year he won't be aware of anything. Now hes gonna be a little older we're not sure anymore. I guess we'll see how he's doing.

Not said when we can go home yet. Me prob today or tomorrow. Dash is still in the incubator so we're taking it a day at a time and trying not to set ourselves goals which might end up being disappointment. They said up to 6 weeks but prob much sooner.

I had an awful day yesterday and everytime I burst into tears the nurses just took one look at me and said 'day 3?!' Feel better today though still a little weepy.

Walnut8 · 29/10/2012 08:46

Nope, new baby will get loads of stuff without additional Christmas pressies! Yay Christmas though, starting to get excited! Not quite the same in oz as the Uk but still exciting Smile.

My DD always sleeps when she goes to stay with my PIL Hmm. Annoying as it doesnt seem to matter what time of day it is, I'll leave her with them in the morning for instance and come back at lunch to find her with a dummy asleep on the couch (her usual nap-time is mid afternoon). Still I should be grateful, at least I do have the option of leaving her there at weekends if I need a break and DH is working.

Clarella · 29/10/2012 09:01

Sorry to hear about your awful day honey - don't know for sure but we were warned about that around the time the milk gets going. Day at a time sounds a good plan - is he still suckling from you? That sounds really positive. It must be hard though x

HoneyMum21 · 29/10/2012 09:11

Thanks Clarella - he had a go at BF twice yesterday which was great but is also still on continuous feeding through his nasal tube. He came off the dextrose drip yesterday so is exclusively on milk now.
