Queenofsiburbia · 26/10/2012 01:54

Brew & Biscuit and hopefully other nice treats honey!

Delighted for you meeting your little boy. You've christened the 'going into labour' sofa!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 26/10/2012 03:18

utopian Grin at your DH!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 26/10/2012 06:33

Honey what a lovely name and good weight too. Fingers crossed he can come out of the incubator and you can enjoy some skin to skin Smile

Stacey enjoy your holiday Envy forget about all the house stuff and have a lovely time!

Clarella hope you're ok? Always best to get checked out

Clarella · 26/10/2012 06:57

I suppose we're going to need to get that labour sofa ready with extension leads for the tens! Our only December baby at nct is now nearly 2 weeks old!

Thanks spotty, I've decided they're just stronger 'proper' bh but going to really watch/count them today - don't get anything while lying in bed, and slept through last night. Will ring mw to double check.

Enjoy Dubai Stacey!

AlisonDB · 26/10/2012 07:28

Clarella, - Glad you where able to sleep, and you didnt get more over night, It does sound more like your description of BH than what I had, as they where definatly getting stronger, and closer together,
Baby was still moving kicking etc... I would say if the start again, or get stronger closer etc then get checked out,

(My mum is a Heath visitor and said the biggest risk from a UTI in a preg woman is that the bladder contracting can kick start the uterine contractions bringing on labour, or that the infection moves quickly from the bladder and into the kidneys where it's much harder to treat.)

Honey - fingers crossed for you today that little Dash is allowed out of the incubator. Bet you can't wait up really snuggle him :-)
X

SpottyTeacakes · 26/10/2012 08:05

yawn what a miserable morning driving to work.

I had so much movement last night I thought he was going to punch through my stomach Confused it's weird because I swear newborns don't move that much!

Clarella you can't have long left so I wouldn't be surprised if your body is getting ready, last time I was 1cm dilated by 36 weeks and if you think some people still have a closed cervix at 41 weeks!

AlisonDB · 26/10/2012 08:25

Ooh Spotty poor you doesn't sound like you got much sleep last night,

I know what you mean about them moving so much inside and not so much when they are born, my LO was fairly calm last night until around 3am when I swear he tried to kick his way out!!
(always think of the Mel Brooks film Spaceballs - where the wee alien pops out of the persons tummy and starts tap dancing on the bar!)

Thank crunchie its Friday!!!
I have a whole weekend of nothing planned! :-)

JoJoB77 · 26/10/2012 09:01

Congratulations honey Smile

Have a lovely holiday stacey

Wonder who will be next to pop? (Not for a while yet tho i hope!)

PurplePidjInAPointyHat · 26/10/2012 09:04

By rights it should be Clarella or me... But who knows?!

35 today, nice round number. Off to BFing class later

StrawberrytallCAKE · 26/10/2012 09:24

No way, it should be me!!! It's my 2nd and 1st was 2 weeks over....surely I'm due some before due date karma? In reality I'm sure I'll be 2 weeks over again, a lady with 3dc's was telling me yesterday how she went 2 weeks over with all of them....2 weeks Monday I'll be bouncing on that ball.

I'm going to get my cruella de vil hair sorted today so I hopefully won't look like I'm at a permanent Halloween party, why is it every autumn I think my hair will look better dark???

The health visiting team called yesterday for dd (4 in November) which is amusing as I haven't heard from anyone since she was 1, they didn't know that I'm pregnant so good timing, having an ante-natal visit next Friday, has anyone else had this?

JoJoB77 · 26/10/2012 09:27

When are you due strawberry?

I remember having HV come to see me a few weeks before having DD but havent heard anything yet. Although i do still have 7 weeks to go Blush

DD was exactly a week late so if this baby follows suit i'll be in hospital christmas eve/day aaarrrrgggg

StrawberrytallCAKE · 26/10/2012 09:34

I'm due on the 3rd, with dd1 I was due on 3rd November, if this one is early she may be born around the same time which is causing problems for our party planning. My mum is on standby to host.

I'm also sad because I wanted to take dd to harrods as they have a Disney princess display where all of the big designers have made a dress for each princess and a whole floor dedicated to it. I thought she would have to miss Cinderella at the royal ballet too as it's too close to my due date but luckily mum is taking her there :).

I wonder if this one will be very princessy too or the complete opposite? My sister and I were opposites!

PurplePidjInAPointyHat · 26/10/2012 09:34

Ah, sorry Strawb, Clarella then you then me - that gets the November Cheekies out of the way [hwink]

I was supposed to have an antenatal hv visit a couple of weeks ago but she had to rearrange - now 22/11, so might be post rather than ante!

FriendofDorothy · 26/10/2012 09:39

Does anyone know where the list of due dates is?

kate2boysandabump · 26/10/2012 10:06

Strawberry DS2 messed up DS1's birthday plans, he was due 3 days after his ds1's 2nd birthday and I remember the day before his birthday being the first time in ages I didn't want to go into labour as I didn't want to miss it. He arrived 2 days after ds1's birthday. Hope your timing works out ok. There's always next year for Harrods.

Lovely name Honey Hope that you get to take your LO home soon. He must be really tiny, my boys were about twice that at birth Shock

Stacey Have a good holiday Smile

Dh and I worked out last night that no matter what our baby will be here in less than 10 weeks. I think I'm trying to just be relaxed about when the baby comes, he'll come when he's ready. With ds1 I focussed so much on my due date and when that came and went I spent the next 8 days totally miserable. I think I'll hope for sooner, but be prepared for later.

I finished my Christmas shopping today, sat up in bed all warm and cosy. Now I have to wait for it to arrive, get it wrapped and all done.

I'm forcing myself to 'nest' although I don't really want to. Yesterday I cleaned upstairs, including the skirting boards (good for foetal positioning Wink) and I'm tackling downstairs today. Next week freezer cooking, so we won't starve when the baby comes.

AlisonDB · 26/10/2012 10:35

My nesting is in full on mode!

And my weekend of nothing has apparently become a weekend of baking, as DS wants us to make a Christmas cake!!
Actually looking forward to that, love the smell of it baking! Mmmmmm

kate2boysandabump · 26/10/2012 11:26

I'm not making a christmas cake this year Sad I'll have time to bake it now, but no time to ice it in December. DH has also told the ds's there will be no home made yule log this year. They were not impressed.

I'm trying with the nesting, I keep expecting the energy surge that I had at about this time with the others, but it's not coming. I think I'm going to have to go for slow and steady as opposed to a mad burst of energy. Have cleaned the downstairs skirting boards this morning, baby still in wrong place, (foetal positioning nonsense Angry)

HoneyMum21 · 26/10/2012 11:47

Crap. I've just realised I no longer have an excuse to avoid doing Christmas cards and presents...

Secondsop · 26/10/2012 11:49

Just added myself to the stats list.

I've had a bit of an energy surge myself of late (am 33 weeks now). Unfortunately my husband has had manflu so isn't very receptive to my suggestions that we go and do all sorts of things.

PrunellaDeVille · 26/10/2012 11:59

hooray, just sent away my final client Grin. maternity leave isn't so complete when self employed but i certainly feel liberated now. i'll still have accounts to do and the admin for DH's business to do but no more pesky clients and fewer reasons to get up/dressed in the mornings [hblush]

time to nest i reckon, and bearing honey's sudden Dash in mind maybe the hospital bag ought to zoom up the priority list.

have a great holiday stacey

PrunellaDeVille · 26/10/2012 12:00

honey you now have an even better excuse surely
