I haven't batch cooked. Just about forced myself to pack hospital bag lol. No nesting going on here, However living with pil makes cooking easier.
But spent yesterday morning worrying that I hadn't done my eye brows n if they kept me in hospital I wouldn't have time to go salon n would have to do them myself Blush.
Going wed morning now for threading n leg wax. Grin relief.
So think I'm a half slum half yum mum.
On that note need to think about coming home outfit. Needs to be comfy, but photo worthy n appropriate for trip to temple on way home. I have a dress that fits the bill however worn it so much that pics will all look the same!
It's my best ever buy maxi dress from monsoon. Bought it last summer, wore it to things like friends engagement out for dinner n bday party. Then during winter wore it to work on special days, my bday n last day of term. Then this summer have worn it constantly as it fits so well no matter size of bump so at work, shopping visiting friends. Grin.
Might sort out a few outfits. Hang up different bits together so DH can pick them up easily. That can be my job for today. As well as knitting!

DesperateHousewife21 · 09/10/2012 08:06

Congratulations donna that's a v good weight, glad you are both doing well.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 09/10/2012 08:09

I am very organised but still slummy, if that makes sense.

Have grand plans to blitz clean the house as soon as on mat leave so that it lasts a couple of months weeks, menu plan for first 4 weeks after baby is born and get the online shop tee'd up, batch cook lots of healthy, hearty food. I will probably do some or most of that.

However, my hair is never done, I don't wear make up, my legs and fanjo resemble a wilderness, I'm happy to live in DH's clothes uber casual stuff, and the beautiful brown leather changing bag that DH bought me when DD was tiny is almost never used because it is too smart for most of my outfits. We use a cheap small rucksack most of the time. DH thinks it is slightly more manly for his SAHD days. If I do ever have to get dressed up for a work do then DH thinks I'm up to mischief!

MissMummy1 · 09/10/2012 08:09

Today I plan to pack my hospital bag, make the marshmallow fudge I didn't get round to doing yesterday and paint the background for dh's birthday card (I'm feeling inspired). I had no energy yesterday whatsoever and emptying the dishwasher just about killed me! I also have to do my accounts and tidy my study... (biggest put-off job of the year)

Oh and I'm having tea and a catchup with yw's DSis this afternoon to toast my mum's wedding today (dh can't take leave from work grr and they're getting married about 6 hours drive away so will be celebrating with them on their return next week!)

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2012 08:10

Definitely slummy mummy here. I was telling DH about things you can buy which settle babies to sleep with vacuum cleaner sounds as they hear it in the womb. DH's response was 'no chance of our baby being settled by Hoover noises'. He is correct.

Another baby! wow!

My friends thinks she could be preggers, she just needs to wait a couple of days to do another test - I'm very excited for her!!

I'm tired.

kissyfur · 09/10/2012 08:47

Congratulations donna hope you and baby girl are doing well.

Blimey this thread moves fast... I was offline all day yesterday and still haven't caught up.

Had my whooping cough and flu jabs yesterday, very achy arms today, but very glad I had them.

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2012 08:49

Quick question. I borrowed someone's labour bag list and it mentioned a pillow. What do I need a pillow for? I need nursing bras but I have everything else. Just need to bite the bullet and get it packed. I can't shake the feeling though that if I get all organised then I will jinx myself to go 2 weeks over!

applepieinthesky · 09/10/2012 08:54

Comgrats donna Smile Does she have a name yet? x

I can't keep up with this thread. Gah!!

DebussyHead · 09/10/2012 09:02

Congratulations Donna and TheChick! How exciting the babies are coming!! I am shattered today and my legs are so sore and heavy esp around the groin. Also TMI but in last few days I have horrendous piles appear which are so sore and uncomfortable. Think baby has moved down hence all the pressure on legs and bum. Any tips on how to deal with these? Dr gave me Haemerroid cream but its done nothing. Ahhhh pregnancy is so glam, I feel so sexy, lol.

LittleLolly · 09/10/2012 09:03

Congratulations donna! Hope you and baby are doing well

DebussyHead · 09/10/2012 09:04

Passme I took in the pillow from my own bed and it was the best tip. Hospital pillows are hard and scratchy and mine was down filled and smelled of home so was a comfort thing really. I'm going to do it again this time.

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 09:08

pass the pillow is because the hospital ones are not so nice. I took one to my first birth and it was a PITA dragging it around. I was in for a week though. With DD2 I was in too much discomfort from the section to notice what pillow I had. If you do take one, make sure it is in a distinctive pillowcase, or it will get lost. Handy for feeding on too, but for me it was not worth the hastle.

GT gosh, a going home outfit for mummy. I did well to get changed out of my pjs. I just wore what I did going in as it was clean and fitted still. I do not have a scheduled stop at the temple though.

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2012 09:10

Ah! Thanks debussy. I have never stayed in hospital and have barely even set foot in one so I am clueless.

No piles yet.

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 09:11

Bra extenders! Fabulous for the last few weeks when baby is under your sodding ribs all the time, and you do not want to buy yet more bras. I have one on today and it is soo comfy now.

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 09:13

I had a pile last pg. horrid thing. Not felt it since thankfully. Bet the little bugger pops up overnight now. I found nothing really helped, except delivery.

Elizadoesdolittle · 09/10/2012 09:27

Huge congratulations donna. Looking forward to hearing more details.

I've got a hair appointment booked in for tomorrow morning. It's a bit overdue so good to get it sorted before baby arrives as I doubt there will be much time for that sort of thing soon!

Baby's hospital bag has been packed for a while and mine is mostly there. I hardly used anything that I packed last time so ill be keeping it to the essentials this time and if I did need anything ill get DH to bring it for me. I do remember taking a pillow though and was very handy. You don't get many pillows and what you do get are flat and lumpy!

It's a nice day here today so going to take DD to Greenwich park. Have a good day all.

StuntNun · 09/10/2012 09:32

Pass for freezing soups, stock, gravy etc. I put a freezer bag into a jug, pour the stuff in, then when it's frozen remove it from the jug to give a neat frozen package. When you want to defrost it just put it back into the jug defrost.

Congratulations Donna! Did everything go smoothly for you?

YW my name is Aurora so I'm in favour! There should definitely be more Auroras in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one. MM I liked Luna for a girl's name (because it goes with my name) but I thought it would result in too much Luna-tic teasing. Good thing we're having a boy I suppose.

Must DO STUFF today as it's one month to go and baby still has nowhere to sleep and I haven't packed my hospital bag. Fortunately we had a house viewing last night so the place is lovely and tidy until DH and the children get home so hopefully we can start looking for baby stuff in the loft now. Our loft is a complete disaster area, you can't find anything up there so it will be interesting to see what we come across that we didn't remember we had. It seems to be mostly full of toys which is a bit concerning as DS1 and DS2 won't tidy up the ones they have. I took some bits and pieces out of their bedroom, e.g. baby jigsaws, Brio train set, etc. that I thought they were too old for but they keep sneaking into my room and stealing it back!

Passmethecrisps · 09/10/2012 09:42

Thanks for the tip stunt. I was wondering about containers for cooking straight from the freezer. Do people buy these foil tubs? Anyway, DH is all over the cooking so no need to worry really.

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 09:47

My mum just text me saying did you know DS is off school and he has football tonight. Replied no, what do you mean off school? Got no reply so I rang her. She didn't pick up. Rang and text DS's dad which is where he was last night, and got no answer. Now I'm worrying where on earth my child is and has something happened? Why hasn't his dad contacted me if he isn't well or something?????

Iheartpasties · 09/10/2012 09:51

thedetective oh dear!

ValiumQueen · 09/10/2012 09:57

detective hope you soon get clarification, and hope all is well.

pass I use the Pyrex dishes with plastic lids. I have had some of them since I was 18, so they clearly last well. The smaller ones hold enough for two adults if you have rice and veg separate, or ideal for one if these are included. I cook lasagne, shep pie etc in them, then cool, freeze and reheat without decanting. They are expensive initially, but if you put one a week in your shopping basket, it will not take long. I find the big ones are too big. Small ones are about £3 and you can get them in most supermarkets. They stack nicely, and stickers adhere ok for labelling.

TheDetective · 09/10/2012 09:58

Phew. Finally got a text of his dad. He vomited in the night but he is ok today. Why he couldn't have just let me know...?!

He isn't I'll often, but if he is it's usually a one off vomit. Probably ate something that disagreed with him.

In other news.... I HAVE A POOL!!!! Rang up community office and gave a false name... Am picking pool up tomorrow morning hahahahaha!! Ill give them my real name tomorrow 0:) I think someone has been telling me porkies...

Had a better night sleep last night. I'm still waking at between 4 and 5 but I'm now able to get myself back to sleep and just lie there til it happens. Phew

Iheartpasties · 09/10/2012 10:00
