(which every time i have a dream about bubs its always a boy) but been told at 20 week scan we are team pink hmmmmmmmHmm

Iheartpasties · 07/10/2012 08:59

DH is just 'chucking another shrimp on the barbie' :)

Iheartpasties · 07/10/2012 09:06

I havent had a crazy dream in a while! Not that I can remember anyway!

applepieinthesky · 07/10/2012 09:08

Congrats evil Smile Hope to see some pics when you are home and settled in.

Lazy day today. I'm on the sofa with my duvet watching the Corrie omnibus. Not much planned for today. I know my final week at work will be a struggle so I'm conserving my energy Wink

StuntNun · 07/10/2012 10:03

After three hours of BH contractions last night, they've started up this morning as well. I hope I'm not going to be having them for the next five weeks! Baby doesn't seem too impressed about it either.

DH has announced that he is taking the boys up to the Giants' Causeway this afternoon which is a 50 mile journey. I'm suspicious that he's trying to get out of getting ready for our house viewing tomorrow. So it looks like I'll have a day of cleaning and tidying today. Last time we had a viewing I ended up scrubbing the bathroom and kitchen floors on my hands and knees with a scouring pad because the idiot had left the mop out in the garden and it was covered in grass and mud. Hmm I wouldn't mind so much but I had the place looking really nice Friday morning and between him and the kids it is now trashed. I was making breakfast this morning and I noticed that the kitchen floor is cleaner than the worktops. Sad

Seen a few pics of evil on fb and know the name but will wait for her to announce it herself :)

YellowWellies · 07/10/2012 10:17

DH a baby in a crisp packet. Weirdest dream ever and clearly a request from the baby for you to eat more crisps, I would say? Wink I slept like a log last night well got up for the loo twice first time in ages. Am feeling much better for it. Am now down to only two days in the office a week (and two at home) but still feel I need to conserve my energy up for it.

YellowWellies · 07/10/2012 10:18

Today I'm reading and making pureed babyfood for when my sister and niece come up to help after the birth, whilst DH tidies the house from top to bottom. There is rumour of him cooking tea too.... with pudding.

Dixiebell · 07/10/2012 10:28

Remembered the tip of silk/satin nightie for helping to turn over in night. You can apparently just glide. But reckon it needs a whole double to yrself to execute properly!

DS slept in new room in big boy's bed for first time last night. No probs at all. My baby's growing up! :)

Iheartpasties · 07/10/2012 10:30

dixiebell i bet that is true (silk/satin)!! great idea. It's too hot at night to wear anything here!! I dont bother with covers either.

GTbaby · 07/10/2012 10:34

Morning all. Evil hope to see pics soon.

Was jyst thinking. Sods law i soent first Maternity day off in hospital! Itchiness is crazy. N dr says nothing I take or do can help. Just daily monitoring to mk sure my acid levels don't go to high n baby is happy. It's worse at night tho Sad. Going out for lunch soon so better get Up. Going to soak in bath first so hoping that helps.
Have a great day!

Iheartpasties · 07/10/2012 10:37

GT sounds awful! Someone on another thread mentioned tar soap, not sure what it is but you could google it.

DesperateHousewife21 · 07/10/2012 10:48

If baby wants crisps I will happily oblige! Currently devouring a toaste ham sandwich with mayo and pickle Grin

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/10/2012 11:13

I think you are right vq

DebussyHead · 07/10/2012 11:24

Congratulations Evil! Great news Smile. GT I know someone that had that itchiness from 36 weeks onwards and it sounded awful, drove her to distraction. Drs gave her steroid cream after the birth which helped a lot.

DH at ikea this morning to buy drawers and cupboard for DDs room, then her nursery furniture can be transferred to baby's room. I'm having a boy so am going for a blue gingham nautical theme with wee red boats. V cute but predictable blue room for boy. I ordered Bednest co sleeping crib yesterday, it's terribly expensive but justified it as will eBay it in 6 months time and most seem to sell close to original value (bloody hope so anyway!!).

Best friend gave me hand me down bag of baby grows and cardies for newborn and 0-3 month boy so going to wash that today and return the stuff I bought at sainsbury's last weekend. Great getting things passes on.

Have nice day ladies.

Evilwater · 07/10/2012 11:55

Hoping to go home today if he feeds well again Grin
Evil

Iheartpasties · 07/10/2012 11:59

evil super exciting!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/10/2012 12:05

I have written a birthplan for DH and posted on fb for anyone who wants to critique it! I have forgotten a couple of things and I haven't thought yet about what happens if it all goes wrong!

Peaky1 · 07/10/2012 13:48

That's great news Evil! Should be exciting to bring him home for the first time

Evilwater · 07/10/2012 14:40

His name is Nicholas, and breastfeeding is damn hard. As all he does is sleep and he's not interested in feeding.
Any one got any tips??

Evil

StuntNun · 07/10/2012 14:42

Evil that's normal for the first few days, especially if you've had pain relief. He's tired from the labour and may have lingering effects of drugs in his system. My DS1 was like that until about day 4. Also they only need tiny quantities of milk in the first few days so feeds are often short.

OP posts:
DebussyHead · 07/10/2012 14:43

Nicholas is a lovely name. I found breast feeding so so hard with DD and remember thinking why did noone tell me about this?! It was agony, proper toe curling, shout out loud pain. But got better after 14 days. Worried about the pain again this time round but hoping not so bad. Is this your first baby Evil?

Titsalinabumsquash · 07/10/2012 14:45

Feeds will be erratic and short for the first few days, the little guy (and his mum) are tired after a shock to the system! Smile
I bet you're doing great and Nicholas is a fab name (is our chosen middle name for DS3) might be worth posting in the feeding section on here though if you're worried or just want some tips, the mners are bloody fantastic when it comes to feeding advice.
Also ask your midwife to check the latch. Sleepiness is very normal though and remember his tiny tummy can't hold a lot yet anyway.

Congrats again. Smile

Evilwater · 07/10/2012 14:48

Debussy head, yes it is.
Why didn't the workshops say it would be like this???? I was/ still am, expecting that he will feed for half hour several times a day, and that latching would be easy, like that video!!

Evil

NervousAt20 · 07/10/2012 15:09
