M&S or John Lewis would be my choice 10 I am going to need so good bras soon, I already have big boobs I can't cope with any bigger!

peardrop2 · 12/10/2012 09:56

Poor LittleB :-( I can't imagine how you're feeling. I'm sure the rest will do you the world of good!

wilderumpus · 12/10/2012 10:04

oh littleb I didn't know about that outing! how annoying! Go to the drs please and get looked after about your ms, it doesn't sound right x

I had some spotting last night so am a bit shitting myself now. Wasn't much and no cramping... I really hope it is because I walk 4 miles a day to and from DS's childminders and irritated something... but... eek.

DH has taken day off work so can lounge about and am off to drs later to see if can get a scan. Bah.

hope everyone is well :)

Thank you pear yes so need a rest didn't realise how badly until yesterday.

wild I'm trying to hold out till my midwives appointment on Thursday. I'm not to worried yet as I don't seem it be dehydrated, although I do need a drink with me at all times as soon as when my mouth feels dry I vomit.
It may be because of the reflux I'm feeling so sick I just need to bring it under control. Really hoping my ulcer doesn't kick off, I'm going to buy loads of milk and digestive biscuits at the supermarket to stear my stomach in the right direction.

Your DH sounds great wild it's probably just you needing some rest. I'm had a bit of cramping/ stretching pains too but no bleeding I'm just taking it as a sign my uterus is growing to accommodate the growing (tiny) baby.

seven77 · 12/10/2012 10:41

wilde no cramping is a good sign, are you still spotting now? If its stopped I'd try not to worry.

pear if they don't succeed getting blood next time just offer to go to the hospital to get it done. They're much more experienced and would probably manage fine.

How come so many people on here get 8 week scans? Nothing here until 12 weeks, mine won't even be booked until after I've seen MW next week.

I bought a couple of maternity bras from M&S yesterday, so much more comfortable now I'm not spilling out of them!

MooLL · 12/10/2012 10:42

Morning ladies - just got back from my 8 week scan ... All is well with the little pea with really good heartbeat and size right or my dates PHEW! Feel I haven't breathed all week I've seen so worried - burst into tears when I saw it - blooming hormones!!! Anyway off to find my old maternity jeans as now feel it's official :-)

beaver33 · 12/10/2012 10:56

LittleB sounds like we've got very similar MS symptoms. I really recommend going to the GP if you can face it. I had been putting it off for ages and feeling awful (and then worrying about my little poo, in case it's not getting enough of the good stuff). I had also been worrying about having to take medicine during pregnancy.

BUT I can confirm it works miracles. Was prescribed travel sickness pills, basically, and I went from literally everything turning my stomach (even water) to being able to eat and actually enjoy a baked potato last night. Not feeling sick for several hours was just amazing.

wilde a little spotting without cramping is very normal and nothing to worry about, from what I can gather. Obviously you will worry, which is also normal! But I hope you can get an early scan just to set your mind at rest. How lovely your DH is staying home with you. Try to have a calm day and let us know how you get on.

MooLL nearly burst into tears reading your post! Glad everything is good and you have a healthy wee bub.

Just attempted bowl of crunchy nut - hoping it will stay down this morning...

LittleBairn · 12/10/2012 11:10

beaver I really don't want to be taking anything for it yet ( there is a high chance i wont be able to take any meds too i usually cant) unless I'm unable to hold onto liquids. If I start to become dehydrated then I will seek help ASAP.
Both my mum and sis had hypermisser so know the signs, I don't feel I'm that bad yet.
Really glad your feeling better hope it lasts. Smile

I was thinking of getting those travel sickness bands are they worth it? Where do you buy them?

I really miss cooking, I can't even walk into my kitchen at the moment never mind cook a meal!

mooll so pleased for you. Smile

seven your not alone I won't have my first official appointment until 9+2 and then unlikely to have a scan until around 15 weeks!
I'm just hoping the midwife will listen to the heartbeat at the appointment and confirm its at least still alive inside me!

RTchoke · 12/10/2012 11:38

Wild - fingers crossed that your spotting is nothing. Is it ongoing? I'd beg for an early scan so you don't spend the whole weekend worrying.

Moo - yay for a healthy heartbeat that pushed you to tears!

Seven - I only had an 8 week scan because I paid for it. I do have a midwife booking in appointment today (8.5 weeks) at the hospital and that is a huge change to my first 2 pregnancies where nothing happened til 12 weeks. Its actually a pain though as I have to get on the Tube and slog to the hospital in the centre of town when it's my day off.

Beaver - how fabulous that the pills are helping. How did the Crunchy Nut stay down.

LittleB - they say bad MS runs in families so I guess you fit into that pattern. You poor thing. I hope you don't get worse and can enjoy your time off.

Is anyone else cold and shivery? I don't know if it's pregnancy related or if I'm otherwise ill but I constantly feel cold. Could that be a pregnancy symptom?

beaver33 · 12/10/2012 12:01

RT so far crunchy nuts are still intact and within! It's a bloomin' miracle. I feel reborn!

I have been constantly cold throughout pregnancy - basically, feel like I have flu. Asked my mum about it and she said she was exactly the same with my youngest sister. So I think some women do just shiver. Have been contemplating bringing a hot water bottle into work - it's one of the few things that helps...stay warm, now.

SecretCervix · 12/10/2012 12:12

Hey guys running in with a random quick question.

Can you have lucozade when pregnant, obviously I know that you can't have energy drinks like redbull, isn't lucozade just glucose energy, I'm figuring on that basis it should be okay but thought I'd get peoples opinions.

Wouldn't think this was my second pregnancy would you.

seven77 · 12/10/2012 12:12

RT I'm always constantly cold during pregnancy. Thankfully my aversion to tea hasn't started yet! I'm also really hungry!

seven77 · 12/10/2012 12:15

secret I think there's a blood sugar test some MW's do when you're pregnant where you have to drink lucozade first so on that basis I'd assume its fine. They don't offer the test where I am but I'm sure someone might be able to make better sense of that!

LittleBairn · 12/10/2012 15:06

I've been feeling the cold more than usual. I don't like winter togg duvets I prefer to use a summer one all year around but I had to put on an extra blanket last night because I just couldn't warm up.

I can't even concentrate on tv or music, knit anything that I usually enjoy. Thankfully i have plenty of books to read during my time off.

I'm having some stretching pains today, quite ls down, I know they are Normal but it still worries me.
The good news is I managed to eat my first meal, in about a week, and it's stayed down! It was just a small M&S ready meal but I feel so much better, the Only thing I did different was I drank some pepsi with it. Naughty I know with all that caffeine but it was a case of desperate mesures!

That said my MS is so much worse at night I'm not even planning on dinner, just some dry snacks.... I sound like I'm feeding a neurotic cat! Blush

wilderumpus · 12/10/2012 15:21

little don't worry, there is no actual proof that caffiene is a problem in pregnancy anyway, and a can would be fine as long as not with a filter coffee bla bla by guidelines anyway. Enjoy and go with what your body wants when you are so poorly, I would!

no more bleeding apart fom the little bit last night thanks, Dr was fine about it, have a scan but not till tues :( seven I paid for an early scan because of cramping and teeny bleed; am paranoid after my last mc.

am colder than usual too ladies, is definitely pregnancy related.

secret I've never heard you can't have lucozade, is just sugar rather than mental amounts of caffeine.

DH has taken DS out, am soooooo tired today! can't be arsed to move! ho hum. we have to watch footie tonight apparently. BORING!

good to hear about happy scans :) still not heard about mine even though apparently at the drs they had me down as 11 weeks pg! oh well, will have this one on tues and take it from there. no symptoms have gone so being positive again now.

LittleBairn · 12/10/2012 16:31

Thanks wild feel less guilty now. Smile

Current minor dilemma to change around bedrooms...
Our current situation is

Large Single bedroom: DH uses this often has a single bed (would fit my large double bed) and he keeps his stash of toys and sweets in here. No he's not a 10year old!
It has a Huge built in wardrop that has a platform in it that could be used as a changing station.

Double room 1: our bedroom fair size sq shaped. Enough space for a moses basket by the side of the bed and space to walk around plus space for changing table. Best thing about it is it faces the rear, the end of our garden back onto woodlands with very high trees so it's pitch black at night and no street noise.

Double room 2: DH office bigger of the two room but rectangular in shape and faces the front of the house. Best thing about this room is the radiator works, our current bedroom doesn't have a working radiator.

Attic room: Huge, full height but very dodgy pull down ladders.

DH thing we should swap the double bedrooms around because it might be really cold in the winter but also better for the baby being that there is no heating in current bedroom.
BUT I like the darkness of current room plus it will require a lot of shuffling and moving of all rooms as DH will need to move half his office in here and half up the attic. That said we have a dinning room that desperately needs clearing off DH 'stuff' up into the attic too.

We need a room for baby and I to co-sleep, room for DH to sleep and office for DH.

It does make sense to swap but I like this room better!

berri · 12/10/2012 20:13

Hi all hope everyone is feeling ok Smile

Had a scary afternoon yesterday with brown spotting and painful period-type pains - but all seems ok after an early night and not much activity today.

I think I'm going to give in and buy a doppler - even after my 12 week scan I don't think I'll be able to relax. I've heard good reports of the Angel-something one from Amazon so will go for that.

Hope all those with sickness are ok and have an easy-going weekend ahead.

Bunnychan · 12/10/2012 23:02

berri Ive been thinking about getting one; how soon can you use one? X

berri · 13/10/2012 01:19

Hi bunny - I think the problem is that it varies! My friend had that particular one and heard the heartbeat regularly from 10ish weeks. But a lot of other reviews say you can't reliably use them until you are 20ish weeks, which is why doctors tend to say not to bother as they can cause more worry than reassurance.

berri · 13/10/2012 02:13

Well I've ordered it, should be here Tuesday so I'll let you know if I have any luck!

Sick of having no bump, no sickness (sorry all sick-people, I know I'm mad) and no scan until 20th - I'm SO impatient!

LittlePickleHead · 13/10/2012 04:40

Hi all, finding it so hard to keep up with all the posts!

Berri - I really wanted a doppler with my first pregnancy but dh vetoed it as he thought it would just make me even more anxious (ie if I couldn't find the heartbeat, or it was too fast or too slow). I'm going to try and get my own way this time though! I know what you mean, at this stage it's all so intangible I keep wondering if there is actually anything in there.

So after feeling awful for weeks I seem to have had a couple of days reprieve - energy back, no sickness, great! Apart from then of course I started worrying and spent the evening wondering if everything was still ok. Well now I've had my answer in the form of being awake at 4.30am trying not to vom. Gah. The scan cannot come soon enough.

11+2 (going to go by my own dates until the scan)

LittleBairn · 13/10/2012 09:10

Another bad evening of sickness, it appears my body won't accept food after 4pm! Not to forget the awful acid reflux that went on for hours that even ant-acids couldnt fix.
On the bright side I got a good solid 8 hour sleep.

Now I feel like a quiche for breakfast...

LittleBairn · 13/10/2012 09:11

Forgot 8+4

mwncigirl · 13/10/2012 09:12

I've just had a look on amazon too for a Doppler. It's so tempting. My scan is on the 29th. Ages! I feel the same about symptoms, no MS for me luckily, extreme tiredness, headaches gone hooray. I think someone I know has a Doppler but then I'd let the cat out of the bag! Think I'm going to try and wait as I suspect I'd become obsessed by it!
