My mum is like that, she is reddish haired and refuses to wear red. Do you think baby will be ginger? I hope my DD is.

Em2010 · 12/10/2012 20:18

Aw! Red haired babies!! How cute!

JoJoBella84 · 12/10/2012 20:25

I'd love DS to have red hair, though I'm sure mr JoJo would like him to be mousy like me. Though I was very ginger when born - I just darkened over the years!!

theTramp · 12/10/2012 20:39

I think Mr JoJo wil be so chuffed when baby arrives that hair colour won't be that much of an issue. Well done on your bargain hunting.

OP posts:
JoJoBella84 · 12/10/2012 20:47

I imagine he will be too tramp He's already wittering on about getting him on the waiting list for the golf club (and now thinking about famous golfer names - i put my foot down at Tiger and Rory!). I'm going to be even more of a golf widow than I already am (that said I may be able to get some riding lessons booked in and a bit of me time so mustn't complain)... both my boys will be abandoning me!

FloweryBoots · 12/10/2012 21:41

My DH has grey hair. Apparently he's been going grey since about 15. He's sometimes a bit self concious about it but not much, and I genuinely like it. However, when he got his hair cut last weekend it was not my best nor most tactful moment to say 'gosh, it's really white in places now' when he asked if it looked alright. Oops!

In my deffence, it really is now white not grey at the sides! DS seems to have my hair in terms of thickness (or rather thinness), hair line and annoying neither currly nor straight so hopefully he'll get my family genes on not greying much too!

I'd think green with ginger would be fine, and who walks round with the pram near their head Grin. I had a boyfriend in my younger days with (wonderful) not ginger but properly orange hair. he often wore red which I used to think would look terrible and clash, but actually seemed to come of fine.

Em2010 · 12/10/2012 21:42

Ah don't count on it jojo my ds is a proper mini-me! We are so similar in every way! He loves hanging out with me and doing what I'm doing not sure how long that lasts!

backwardpossom · 12/10/2012 21:45

Boys love their mamas!

Chefette · 12/10/2012 22:37

I'm sitting looking over at my mega ginger DP Grin his nickname is of course The Ginger Prince.........and, is wearing a bright green hoodie........!

Welcome newbies one and all.

Hope the sickness and yukkiness abates for all.

Good scan news indeed, may it all continue!

Flu jab on mon for me.

DP has ripped out bathroom and back lobby in preparation for tradesmen, kitchen tomorrow. Floods galore chez nous, road to our house and local town still shut, river burst it's banks. Oh and leak in roof, into room that has just been redecorated and new floor. Am too disgusted to even moan much more!

Have good weekends all !

ThreeForTea · 12/10/2012 22:50

Flu jab booked for tomorrow for me, wish it was a 20 week scan instead! Congratulations you ladies who have found out :)

Ever so tired so off to bed now rather than be socialble and post properly! See you all in tomorrow

Lexiindisguise · 12/10/2012 23:43

Thanks all Smile JoJo I think they can never be 100% certain but it's a good guideline - and so cute about your little one's toes! Sheldon I agree it's lovely not to say 'it' any more Smile
Very jealous of all these families with lovely red hair in them. Always wanted red hair but dyed it once & it really doesn't suit!

Lexiindisguise · 12/10/2012 23:44

Ps Chefette hope you stay safe from floods!

Emus · 13/10/2012 05:35

Thanks for all the crossed fingers yesterday ladies - it worked and we are in the new house!! Such a relief although now begins the mammoth task of unpacking and reorganising!

Got to the. We hide at lunch time to discover a 'welcome to your new house 'lunch platter' in the fridge which was lovely as I was really hungry! Didn't eating yesterday to determined to out hat right today. Already had to have some Weetabix!

Went to bed early last night with an achy belly so I really hope that our LO is ok in there. I really wish I could feel something just for some reassurance as now I'm going to be worrying that I've hurt him/her in the move. I didn't lift things (well, a few lightish boxes) but I was bending and stretching and going up and downstairs all day so ache all over today. I swear I am waddling as well!

Congratulations to the ladies who had happy scans yesterday. Only a couple if weeks until our 20 week :-)

TheAngelshavetheOod · 13/10/2012 06:23

chefette good luck with the floods. Hope you stay safe & it doesn't reach you!

tiddleypompom · 13/10/2012 07:15

Morning Marchers,
A short but sweet hello & goodbye from me - finding it hard to keep up with the thread so going to step away. All the best for the remaining 20wk scans (and all extras) & wishing you all the happiest of experiences for the remaining weeks!
I'll probably not be able to resist checking in for arrivals early next year :)
Till then.
x

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 13/10/2012 07:30

Welcome hevan.

Congrats on move emus.

Great scan news lexi.

Good effort on thr bargains Jojo!

Manda, you could go crazy and have a large glass of champagne. I think you deserve it!

Gummi, have had chicken pox so no cause for concern. I had them quite late, when I was about 10, so I remember quite vividly being bloody covered in the spots and have still got scars to prove it!

tiddley please still pop in every now and again. Xxx

Em2010 · 13/10/2012 07:59

Morning All,

emus congratulations on the house move! Those tummy muscles can get very sensitive so you just take it easy!

tiddley don't leave us! Doesn't matter if you only post occasionally!

Righto, I'm off to the hairdresser. Need to get my highlights redone. Really should take ds with me as a sample to say "I want that colour!" (He is blonde, sadly not red!) Am looking forward to having some me-time and pottering round harrogate on my own after!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 13/10/2012 08:02

Ooh em enjoy!!!

backwardpossom · 13/10/2012 09:14

Happy weekend everyone! Thank goodness for holidays! 2 weeks of running about after DS... er, maybe I'll be needing to go back to work! Wink We're taking him swimming today - I bought a maternity swimming costume so I don't think I've got any excuses any more! So, swim then chips. Grin

theTramp · 13/10/2012 09:17

Tiddley - adieu not farewell & do pop in on occasion to let us know you're ok won't you.

JoJo - aw that's cute. MrM thinks Socs will become a great golfer too and I've also vetoed all golfer names. My suspicion is that with two very much their own people & always have been parents Socs will have his/her own ideas from the get go and there won't be much we can do about it. Anyway agreement is I teach swimming and MrM teaches golf - I tried ride a bike apparently golf more important.

So genetically boys get their hairlines from their mothers father. So as my father started losing his hair in his 20s whilst MrM has a lovely head of hair (albeit grey) - if you have a boy and they do lose their hair they need to blame Grandad.

Emus - so pleased to hear you guys are in and getting sorted. You're exerting a lot even if not heavy lifting, bound to be some twinges. Try to rest where you can and not worry.

Chef - floods and house work tsunami! Blimey in for a penny & all that. Itll be ace when finished but must be discombobulating right now.

Manda - hope you're both enjoying all the romance Paris can throw at you and find some sort of trinket to take home as an aide memoir :)

My mother is so excited. Spoke to her last night. I'm not sure there's anyone she hasn't told about me being pregnant - inclusive of local butcher. She's also been to another store selling baby things with "gorgeous" outfits. I tell you she's the biggest baby clothes sucker. So nice she's excited - although a fair way to go yet. Socs is gonna be spoilt.

Hope you all have lovely Saturday's. I'm away for flu jab and working hard today. Very boring.

dameflamingo · 13/10/2012 11:15

Hello all, sorry for corruptive radio silence and thank you for all the info and thoughts on immunisations/ flu jabs. Will be contacting my GP next week re flu jab as many suggest. Xx

Just catching up on everyone's news tramp I hope that MrM got that film gig. Timing's a bugger though.

tiddley I always enjoy your posts and it's not about regularity or name checking everything everyone says so anytime you want to pop in and let us know how you are doing please do so. It's been a busy 20 weeks on this journey and your humour and perspective has helped.Until next we speak.. Keep healthy and happy xx

I'm off to make use of my national trust membership. MrFlamingo is all dressed and waiting for me to surface so until later ladies, lots of smiles to y'all. Xx

GummiberryJuice · 13/10/2012 11:51

Ahh tiddley don't go, I think I'm the worst at namechecking , I do read everything and generally in RL I'm the one that remembers everything, but on this thread it all moves so fast I just can't keep up sometimes, and as dame says I enjoy your posts but don't let me guilt you into staying, but do please check in with any news xx

Had flu jab today and my cold is still here its making my head hurt

Anyone not sleeping well? I was awake for 2 hours last night

Em enjoy that new house feeling and don't struggle with heavy boxes

pinkpeony4 · 13/10/2012 12:34

JoJo My ds2 has really red hair and green is the one colour that I think looks best on him. Especially emerald green. It's a really lovely contrast. He is my only red head and I love how distinctive it is. He is also very easy to find in the playground Grin My Bugaboo from ds1 is red which is not ds2's best colour but he still used it Smile

Manda I have had a lot of pregnancy massages over the years (I love spa treatments) but nothing is as effective as the Chiro. The massage compliments her treatments though and it's good to do together. Is there a Neal's Yard in Oxford (I seem to recall there is one in the covered market)? They have therapy rooms and fab masseurs who specialise in pregnancy.

Emus Glad your move went well.

Tiddley Don't go Sad just post whenever you can. Are you on facebook (I am VERY bad at remembering people's usernames on here with their facebook names so apologies if you are.

Ethel I hope your dd recovers soon. None of mine have had it so I am expecting them all to get it and to be housebound for weeks because it will arrive a few weeks apart!

Tramp Your mother sounds like she will be a fab granny! Does she live close so she can come and help?

Dame I have my flu jab yesterday and it was quick & painless. I do have a slightly sore arm today though but nothing major.

Gummi I have nights where I lie awake for ages. I always forget how annoying pregnancy insomnia is!

Another beautiful Autumnal day. Been watching ds1 play football on the Common & then we are off to a football party in Surrey this afternoon so a nice active day for the boys! Have a good weekend all

JoJoBella84 · 13/10/2012 12:39

gummi I'm the same with sleep. Was still awake at 5am, I'm not really sure what time I fell asleep but I woke at 9am and am complete drained. I don't think it helps that my mattress in student digs is awful. I need to find a decent pg support pillow!
tiddley it would be great to hear how you're getting on but no pressure.

Vivee74 · 13/10/2012 12:55

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and feeling ok. Sun has just come out here which makes it nicer.

Rant coming- sorry - Got a redundancy letter in the post today. Less than 10 days since I put in my application for maternity leave!!! While there are a few people at work getting them, the fact that its a handwritten envelope means they've rushed it through. HR have also ignored two emails I've sent them about my maternity entitlements. Have until Thursday to appeal. Need some advice!!!
