Just had my asthma check & flu jab. Usually get weighed as part of the check but the nurse just looked at me and said 'I won't bother' Grin

JoJoBella84 · 11/10/2012 15:17

My flu jab is booked for 20th... It's not actually going to make me ill is it? I really don't want to start feeling rotten again !!

Lexiindisguise · 11/10/2012 17:10

Sheldon hope you feel better! Also hoping DameFlamingo is ok

sarahs999 · 11/10/2012 18:49

Is anyone else getting kicked in the cervix and finding it really uncomfortable? I remember this from my ds but thought it was later on. It's making me jump and squeak at my desk! What on earth is if going to be like at 30 weeks if it's this bad at 20 weeks? Sad

Em2010 · 11/10/2012 18:52

Wow! How quiet has this thread been today?! I hope you have been having good days!

jojo I make no promises but as the flu vaccine is not a live vaccine it is unlikely to cause you any noticeable side effects. I had one last year and was fine apart from a slightly sore arm for a few days. I have mine booked for the 23rd.

Am being a crap mother! Chaos reigns in this house. Ds has no trousers on and hasn't even had his tea yet (fish fingers).... Im sure most kids his age are tucked up in bed now! Why do I think I will be able to manage with two?! I am in lala land!!

theTramp · 11/10/2012 19:10

JoJo - you should be fine. It's safe and recommended for pregnant ladies.. Unlike flu.

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 11/10/2012 19:24

em I would worry, DD and I are watching flumps again whilst I eat my microwave dinner!

Thanks for the vote of confidence on the spider ladies!!!! It's taken me 30 bloody years to get that close to one. Humph. Grin. Actually we have a Dyson pull along one, so you can see what goes inside and I can't see anything in the drum! Just hope that doesn't mean it's in the tube...Confused

Hope those of you feeling crap ate soon on the mend. There seems to be a lot of bugs doing the rounds.

manda, hope you have a beaut time in Paris. We went when I was pg with DD and still loved it even though my fav oysters, and lovely stinky cheese was off limits.

Welcome aig!

Midwife tomorrow, thank the lord! And DH is currently flying so will be back tomorrow. In some ways it seems to have flown, but in others it seems ages since he was at home!

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 11/10/2012 19:26

Or eigmum even...Blush

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 11/10/2012 19:27

And again, em I wouldn't worry.
Sigh. Typing getting worse.

theTramp · 11/10/2012 19:58

Only just heading home. Loooong day. Hungry & therefore sleepy. Socs is giving me nice sharp stomach jabs (FEED ME) so I'm slurping a fizzy lemon drink & have nabbed an M&S microwave classic which all being well will be consumed in about 45 mins time. Hoping lemon fizz keeps Socs happy for a bit. Must start carrying more snacks about with me (ate them all by 5pm).

Loving the spider fears - you ole wosses youse! I refuse to be frightened of spiders in this country, all looks no venom (or bite£. I'm a wee bit warier when in warmer climes mind. It's the small ones you need to worry about there, no bark but lots of bite... ;)
In all seriousness - glass mixer bowl and a piece of card will sort you out much better than a spider catcher. (My mothers terrified of them.. Guess who adopted a pet spider as a kid?.. Now guess who suggested Sammy spider and Norris newt would be good tank companions/friends?!!)

Hoping earlier scares are now minds at rest.

Zoey - I really have no idea how you're coping. You get a superwoman vote from me!

Hey all, I am reading but been a bit jiggered the last few evenings! I'm just off to bed as am not sleeping but just wanted you all to know that you are keeping me sane, finding it all lovely but a bit hard at the mo and reading how you are all getting on is helping me feel a bit better about things! Thanks girls and muck love and hormones Smile

sundaesundae · 11/10/2012 20:35

Hi lanny, hope you get some sleep.

Had a bit of a bleed and a freak out today, think all is fine, trying to take MW's advice and accept it as nothing and calm down, sort of managing.

Had a shish and kofte kebab for tea with tonnes of salad, yummy!

GummiberryJuice · 11/10/2012 20:52

Hi lanny hope you manage to sleep, I have not been sleeping well and it horrible, sympathies x

Sundae hope you are ok relax with hand on tummy and hopefully you'll feel some reassuring nudges x

Ethel you do know its in the tube don't you Grin

zoeymlucas · 11/10/2012 21:20

Thanks tramp I think I am more in line for the broken and moany award, lol- moaning always cheers me up so I practise hard Grin

Just had nice relaxing bath reading a rubbish mag now watching tv with crisps and cake

Hope you ok now sundae and your yummy kebab cheered you up - if it makes it any better I had small bleeds with both my boys and it was fine

EthelredOnAGoodDay · 11/10/2012 21:25

Nooooooooooooooo!!

FloweryBoots · 11/10/2012 21:54

Lanny, hope you get some rest.
Sundae hope you're feeling bit more reassrured.

Nearly the weekend, phew. Although I'm working all day Sunday. But new dyson arriving on Sat after 3 weeks with no vaccuume cleaner, and DH is very excited we've finaly grown up adn not bought a cheap tat £50 vaccuume so I reckon he probably will actually do all the vaccuuming on Saturday, or at least the down staris.

Bed time for me!

theTramp · 11/10/2012 22:56

Sundae - get some sleep and try to rest my dear. Will be thinking of you.

Zoey - trust me it is the superwoman and not the moany badge that you need!

backwardpossom · 11/10/2012 22:57

Hi everyone, just trying to do a quick catchup before I go to bed...

eigmum welcome to the thread, hope the results for your amnio are ok - what was the reason for getting the test, if you don't mind me asking?

manda how's my favourite city?

Jojo thanks for reminding me. I must phone the doctor tomorrow and book my jab...

Sundae hope you're ok, your dinner sounds lovely!

Had another busy day, but after tomorrow I'm on holiday for two weeks! Going to see Kevin Bridges (the Glaswegian comedian) on Monday evening, but that's the only plans we have. DH could only get a couple of days off his work, so it'll just be me and DS for most of the two weeks. I got a maternity swimming costume I'd ordered last week in the post today, so I suspect we'll do a lot of swimming to tire him out stop him getting bored! 19 weeks tomorrow! That'll be about halfway for me as I'll be getting a section a week or so before due date! Scary stuff!

ThreeForTea · 11/10/2012 23:26

Don't know how I am still awake, but just catching up as I have a hot chocolate. I've been out and dh has cleaned the kitchen while i've been away, wiped the sides and everything, very impressed and happy with him. He's presumably in bed now.

lanny glad this thread is helping! Can def say the same for me. Thanks for sympathy with dd and the calpol zoey. She was mostly fine apparently so was probably a good decision. Height of guilt was about 10 minuites after my post, a collegue rang into the office and left a message that she couldn't come in because she was having to pick her son up from school as he'd been sick. Her son is 17 or 18 years old. Different styles of parenting I guess.

sundae glad mw is reassuring, hope you are feeling better.

Watch out spiders in Flowery's house! Also think everyone should stop Ethelbaiting. I feel your anxiety for the little monsters though know very well is quite an irational fear Grin Tramp do newts eat spiders?

Em all concientious, environmentally aware mothers strip their little ones to eat tea, it makes perfect sustainable-living sense = less washing to do! :)

I keep forgetting to ring for flu jab, will need to try to remember tomorrow

manda hope Paris is lush (or tres jolie) I think you should have some champagne while you're there, just a glass or so!

theTramp · 11/10/2012 23:43

Three - I believe Norris did. Either that or Sammy managed a daring great escape. Which was the story my mother fed me.

My furry caterpiller friends were always happier being outside with their Mummys, than coming inside to cuddle up with me too.

She could be right sly my Mother.

Hello all, as I mentioned over on Facebook last week, I've been quite poorly the last fortnight and not spent much time at the laptop so I've missed out on a lot Sad

Still feeling very poorly, but at least I can get out of bed now, although walking around the house is leaving me breathless and coughing a lot. I went out for a couple of hours this evening to an NCT social thing which was a lot of fun, but was glad to get back to my bed! I'll try and catch up over the weekend.

TheAngelshavetheOod · 12/10/2012 07:33

Finally got my maternity exemption form yesterday , still need to post it though.

Slipped last night walking to the car so the crutches are coming in v useful now :( can move a little bit without them this morning but my mum is coming to help with school run if dh is at work( weather dependant).

zoeymlucas · 12/10/2012 09:01

Was driving to work this morning getting annoyed at idiot drives and sitting in traffic and got a proper nice kick from little man - instantly cheered me up and made me realise let the idiots cut each other up and nearly kill themself on the way to work :)

Boss is going out in 10 mins then I am doing a Macdonalds run - hehe I really fancy a bacon roll or 2 and orange juice

Emus · 12/10/2012 09:12

MOVE DAY!

Sorry for post and run, particularly as I have a few people to reply to so please accept my apologies.

All a bit if a f### up really. We won't find out until 5pm today if we can complete (due to funds taking their flamin time to transfer) but at least they are allowing us to move our stuff in.

We aren't allowed to unpack it though until we've competed so pots tilt that's a weekend of having a house with nothing in it (our current property) a d a house with everything in it that we can't touch!!

Fingers crossed for us.

JoJoBella84 · 12/10/2012 10:20

Anyone used the dreamgenii maternity pillow? I really need something supportive for sleeping on my side as I'm not used to it so aren't sleeping too well at the mo! There are mixed reviews online but any personal experiences would be great xx
