Welcome to the connecting bus ladies, next stop morning sickness, booking in, and dating scans. Grin
Estimated Time of Arrive late May early June 2013.

I know we said we'd wait until the end of the month, But I'm so excited. and hungry, and need a wee again, and nervous, and my boobs hurt, and the voyeuristic spiders are still watching me

We'll keep our FX that we all stay the distance, and our ttc sisters will join us soon.

Oh flip. Talk in very small office turned to pg. and why I was eating so much. I swear I blushed. But I think they are off the scent. For now Phew. At least I can hope that they will put my tubbyness down to my eating too much. Grin how on earth am I meant to stay stum for another 6 1/2 weeks?

Pink I'm 7+1 and I'm not sick. Started eating like a horse this week and if I don't it makes me feel a bit wobbly, feels like I've skipped breakfast or lunch. The no sickness thing is only worrying me because my mum has been telling me how sick I'm going to be when I'm preggers for the last 20 or so yrs!

kittykatskumkwat · 03/10/2012 11:36

Oh god I've got a crappy salad for lunch but a real hankering for a macdonalds
I really really want one!!!

peardrop2 · 03/10/2012 11:52

You craving burgers too? I'm making them for tea. Cannot wait!!

kittykatskumkwat · 03/10/2012 12:07

Yes pear a burger and I'm so so hungry!!!

FrustratedSycamorePants · 03/10/2012 12:11

Ssshh I can't eat any more in my office off to do someone work before someone notices the bulge.

I put away my size 8-10 clothes last night. Said my goodbyes :-) now wearing a size 10 winter skirt that fell off me last Spring...how things have changed! Is it bad to have soup and then go out for a sneaky sandwich hah hah! Frus poor you! Is your office open planned? I am counting my blessings that I have my own office!!

IBelieveInPink · 03/10/2012 12:20

Thanks. Am now reassured. And also craving a burger! Supposed to be going to the gym tonight, not sure that that is going to happen as I had no sleep last night! thought I was supposed to be falling asleep easily!

jojo which appointment do you hear the heartbeat at? Exciting!

Jojoba1986 · 03/10/2012 12:20

Bleah! I hate burgers... But I really fancy Yorkshire puddings dipped in gravy right now...! Hmm

Frus my friend asked me outright if we had something to tell her because we'd been chatting about maternity allowances given that I'm recently self employed & she'd been encouraging me to register as se so I could get the ma! I laughed & told her I was just asking so I knew what I needed to do for 'when the time came'! I rapidly changed the subject after that! I also spent yesterday with my mum chatting about my SiL's pregnancy & it was soooo difficult not to say anything! There's a family wedding this w/e & my DS turns 1 soon so we don't want to distract from either occasion & we're hoping to hold out for a Christmas surprise announcement! Definitely not going to make it!

IBelieveInPink · 03/10/2012 12:24

My friend also asked me last night how the baby plans were coming along. I didn't even realise I had mentioned anything! I said, oh well, just seeing how things go, and changed the subject rapidly!
My bestest friends know, but I just figured id tell them if things went wrong anyway so they may as well know now :)

peardrop2 · 03/10/2012 12:53

When is everyone planning to tell work? DH wants me to wait until February because we are worried about redundancy. I seriously don't think I can wait that long!! Luckily they're not a social bunch so I wouldn't have a late night Xmas party to worry about! I could probably hold out until December but that is it! Also depends how big I get!!

kittykatskumkwat · 03/10/2012 13:16

Pear if there is uncertainty with work your almost better telling them sooner, you are more protected when they know you are pregnant, I'm sure I will say after the 12wk scan although my boss knows about my last mc so it won't be that much of a surprise. I am know knackered, I think I get a really bad wave of tiredness around lunchtime then it eases again, I could literally fall asleep at my desk!!

Jojoba1986 · 03/10/2012 13:59

Pear don't you think it might be fairly noticeable by Feb? I agree that you're more protected when they know you're pregnant! Nobody wants a crazy pregnant lady accusing them of getting rid of her to avoid paying for maternity leave! Wink

Kitty can't you squeeze in a cat-nap? Grin

IBelieveInPink · 03/10/2012 14:14

Pear, I am leaving it as long as I can. Although as I am HR I technically only need to tell myself :)
Its not really true that you are more protected if they know, however I do know it very much scares people off in any sort of work related situation.
There are advantages in a redundancy situation though, such as baby related time off can't count against you where as there is potential that it could if they don't know the real reason for it etc etc

FrustratedSycamorePants · 03/10/2012 14:25

pear I have an office I share with 3 people, which is a base that I work out of depending on workload. If workload is zero I sit in office all day MNing. Grin

Good blagging jojo Have a friend who keeps asking. Accidentally said I fel sick to her the other day, but manage to blag it. Then was asked again how ttc is going. Hmm. Must keep stum.

It's a tough call. They can and will find a way to get rid if they need to without it linking to my pregnancy. It's been on the cards for a while now. By law I don't have to tell work until 9th Feb. If I tell them earlier which I will (probably Dec) there is a risk they can get rid of me. It does happen in smaller companies more.

peardrop2 · 03/10/2012 14:30

ibeleive yes you're right, they can get rid of me, I'm not that protected if I tell them sooner but I know I can't wait until 9th Feb!!

Jojoba1986 · 03/10/2012 16:45

Urgh. Someone make me get up & make the cakes I'm supposed to have baked, decorated & tidied up from before DH gets home! Weds afternoon has long been my specified baking time but this pg-tiredness is really getting in the way! I got as far as creaming the fat & sugar but adding eggs involves moving to fetch them! Sad

IBelieveInPink · 03/10/2012 19:20

Well. After craving a mcdonalds all day cos of you lovely ladies, I now have one sat in front of me and can't face eating it! What is that about?! Pah.

kittykatskumkwat · 03/10/2012 19:26

Nothing I've heard of pink!! Wink
I ate one quite happily Smile

IBelieveInPink · 03/10/2012 19:36

Haha kitty. I've got started now and it seems to be going down okay. Panic over! ;)

FrustratedSycamorePants · 03/10/2012 19:40

That's definately pregnancy ponk Grin with dd1 I cooked a pizza coz I really fancied one, then was sick as soon as I took it out of the oven and smelt it.

OP posts:
Jojoba1986 · 03/10/2012 19:42

Ponk I got that all the time with DS! I'd really want a KFC until it was in front of me, enjoy it once I started & then have awful tummy ache after! Hopefully you won't get the last bit! Smile

peardrop2 · 03/10/2012 20:36

Hah hah I've been looking forward to my burgers all day and then I sat down with them and didn't want to eat :-) this is an odd symptom! Books have finally expanded, even DH noticed tonight when I was getting dressed!

Jojoba1986 · 03/10/2012 20:56

Your DH noticed that your books have expanded? Was it when you asked him to put up more shelves? Grin Wink
