Tugs hope you and baby are ok, and the bleeding stops and you get to go home soon.

Definitely sounds like heartburn bunny, hope it settles with some gaviscon.

I worked both of the last 2 weekends, and was looking forward to a lie in this morning - only to wake up at 6am, starving hungry. Seriously annoyed with myself: there's only a limited number of weekend lie-ins left before I have to give them up for about a decade!

katolla · 20/10/2012 08:09

pixelcarrier glad other people are waking up starving too! If you keep water by your bed you can try and fool yourself with that for a bit. I give it less than ten minutes before I have to go and get emergency muesli though.

Bunny222 · 20/10/2012 08:52

Thanks for the tips, gaviscon has helped loads.
Think were decorating the baby room today. Excited but part of me thinks is it too early yet. DH has made a great start by getting paint on the sofa and some on the carpet! Men! Grrrr!

mrsbugsywugsy · 20/10/2012 11:14

hello,

thanks for all the diabetes tips everyone! I've been passing them onto my SIL. I've also recommended she looks on this site, although English isn't her first language so that's why I've tried to help her look stuff up.

bunny agree with everyone who says you have heartburn, I have it too. Liquid gaviscon works better than the tablets for me. I would say avoid spicy food but ironically my current pregnancy craving is curry and I can't resist.

I slept terribly last night, kept waking up for a wee or with a sore back.

Birdies · 20/10/2012 11:23

Had my flu and wc jabs yesterday, all fine except very slightly bruised arms.

prickly I had my anti d last week and it was in my arm. Never had it in my bum yet but maybe it's different depending on where you have it! Didn't hurt at all and no bruising after.

bugsy hope you can have a nap today - I just had a lovely lie in whilst DH looked after DD.

theboutiquemummy · 20/10/2012 13:14

Tugs ooh big hugs hope alls well with you and the baby now

Bunny defo sounds like heartburn to me gaviscon is my friend but it can make you constipated in liquid form

the NCT sale was a godsend thanks to all who recommended it and I didn't spend a fortune either and got lots

had a bit of scare little trump stopped moving and we could't wake him up and i freaked so off to hospital we went and alls well, if it happens to you don't hesitate to go and get checked out they were lovely

on the plus side We are team BLUE very happy indeed

Tugstonia · 20/10/2012 17:17

Thank you ladies. Am still here, have to stay another night at least. Doctor thinks its my placenta causing the bleeding & will have a scan on monday. depending on outcome of that if it looks like risk of premature labour I'll have steroids for the baby's lungs. All a bit shit really as was gearing myself up to go home today. But they know best so will stay as long as I need. X

newbie6 · 20/10/2012 17:54

Hi Tugs,

Just wanted to say am thinking of you and your bump, never easy being stuck in hospital but sounds like you and bump are being well cared for. Hope bump behaves and stays put for a while longer and that you can get home soon. Xx

happyhow · 20/10/2012 17:58

At least you are there with doctors at hand should you need them. It's a horrible situation and much earlier than you were expecting but if you take it easy then hopefully mini tugs will hang on in there for a bit longer...

I dragged hubby into John Lewis today and we're going with the Bugaboo Cameleon. He didn't like the iCandy's at all and he has a thing about stuff getting scratched so he was not having it. It's another thing ticked off my list in my head if nothing else so I can let MIL know as they are paying for it I think...

slightlytipsy · 20/10/2012 20:10

Can I add mine (I'm new here, so I don't know anything)? It would be sligtlytipsy (32) DC3/4/5(though only my second birth, I have twins) EDD 1/1/12 Triplets (DD/DD/DS).

pmgkt · 20/10/2012 20:20

Wow tipsy! Welcome

slightlytipsy · 20/10/2012 20:40

Thanks pmgkt! While I'm on here- does anyone know about triplet buggies/prams/whatever for newborns? I can only find ones for more than 6mnth olds.

MarasmeAbsolu · 20/10/2012 21:44

blimey slightly! twins AND triplets!
welcome!

knuckingfackered · 20/10/2012 22:31

I think there are threads that are for multiples and pram fetish types, they may be worth a look

slightlytipsy · 20/10/2012 22:43

Thanks MarasmeAbsolu and knuckingfackered. Pram fetish threads? I've got to look at those!

SquealyB · 20/10/2012 22:56

Tugs sorry to hear that they are keeping you in but as you said, at least you are in the best place for you and mini tugs.

Wow slightlytipsy how exciting. At least you will have only had to endure two pregnancies Smile. I'm afraid I'll be no help on the buggy front as this is DC1.

Glad you had success at NCT godz and hope your SIL is coping ok mrsbugsy.

PixelCarrier · 21/10/2012 06:48

Welcome slightlytipsy!

Hope you're doing ok in hospital tugs, and the bleeding has settled. Will think of you having your scan tomorrow.

Glad you found the NCT sale helpful boutique, and hope yours was likewise godz. We missed our local one as we had to be away that weekend. However, I've been given so much stuff, I can't be too upset over it. In fact, friends of ours gave us a load more baby stuff yesterday as they were clearing out their loft. I'm planning to breastfeed, but they've given us a steriliser and some bottles. I know it's useful to have a couple of bottles even if you plan to breastfeed, but do I really need a steriliser? (We have a smallish kitchen without much storage space, so if I don't need it, we'll pass it on to someone who does...)

I've got my glucose tolerance test tomorrow, and am a bit worried about it, as I have the right genes and the right body type (ie overweight!!) for gestational diabetes. So I may be on here tomorrow evening, looking up all the helpful diabetes websites too, mrsbugs

Tugstonia · 21/10/2012 07:12

Welcome and congratulations slightlytipsy! Wowee, hold old are your twins? V exciting!

Good luck with you GTT pixel!

Thanks for all your kind words. No blood since yesterday morning so I'm really hoping I can go home today. Had a bit of a meltdown last night. There's a woman in another bed in the room I'm in who was watching PORN on her laptop really loudly last night, it was so vile. And then dreadful tinny music on her mobile. I couldn't believe what I was hearing but asked her to please turn it down and she just tutted & laughed & so I lost the plot, started sobbing hysterically & the duty midwife told her off Blush. Not my finest hour but ffs who watches porn on a maternity ward?? She has been snoring like a hippo all night so I've hardly slept. Top tip for hospital bag: EARPLUGS!!!

Anyway sorry I had to share!!

Birdies · 21/10/2012 09:31

Omg tugs I think I would cry too - that's just too surreal for words. You've got enough on your plate just being in a strange ward without having weirdos near you. Glad your midwife told her off, she sounds like a loony. Hope you can get home today, sounds like you should do.

pixel re the steriliser it's a bit like the breast pump where you won't really know if you need it til your baby is here. If you exclusively breastfeed then you wouldn't need either (though if baby is ever left with anyone else for a few hours then you would need both). As it was free, I'd hang on to it but just stick it in a cupboard for now.

Welcome slightlytipsy! Can't believe you're having triplets, how exciting! Is it Dec or Jan you're due? I'm end of Dec but you'd be the first if us due if Dec.

mrsbugsywugsy · 21/10/2012 09:37

Glad to hear you've had no more bleeding Tugs. Is the woman opposite you still asleep? If so I recommend playing some very loud music Grin.

Welcome Tipsy Triplets!!! (note the deliberate use of three exclamation marks). I'm just imagining your shock at the scan. Do multiple births run in your family? How old are your twins?

Pixel my SIL had no obvious risk factors for GD - she was very slim before pregnancy, ate healthily, had no family history that I know of. Sometimes I think it's just one of those things.

godzookey · 21/10/2012 10:13

Morning Ladies,
OMG tugs that is unbelievable - watching porn as blatantly as that??!! What nightmare and having the audacity to tut at you - i would have been sorely tempted to have marched over to her, wrenched her lap top from her and thrown it out of the window - you poor thing!!

NCT sale was successful - managed to get a moses basket for £15 and a breast feeding support pillow for £8, however, i have to stop buying cute little clothes - have so many now but all in all spent about £35.

One rookey error though, I had picked up a moses basket which came with the stand for £15 - hesitated and put it back for a second and the girl i went with nabbed it. Can't say i blame her, just means i need to find super cheap stand now, as don't want to end up paying more for that than the actual basket!!

Welcome tipsy and may i say WOW and huge congratulations!!

Tugstonia · 21/10/2012 11:30

I've been discharged woo hoo!!!! Saw a different consultant who said I could go as I'd not had any more bleeding & also i don't need steroids. So so happy! Thanks for all your support ladies!

mrsbugsywugsy · 21/10/2012 12:38

ahh, great news Tugs

BuntyCollocks · 21/10/2012 12:49

Great news, tugs and welcome slightly!

Birdies · 21/10/2012 13:47

What a relief tugs!

I'm going to pack my hospital bag this week - 30 weeks today and it might be a bit early but you never know. Anyone else doing theirs early?
