Ahhh compo it must be awful still been sick at this stage. I only had it for a week and felt terrible so I really feel for you.
I can't wait till the scan either! Mines on the 18th of April Smile

puppy · 10/04/2006 12:12

Good afternonn all,

Compo I really do hope that the sickness passes soon fo you.

Hellkat I am still having extreme tiredness I have more trouble then usual getting up in the morning, have to have a couple of hours nap in the afternoon then fall asleep on the couch in the evening at approx 9.30, I mentioned it to the midwife last week and she said it was the tail end of the early pregnancy, I hope so I don't want to be this tired for much longer.

I have had my triple test results and they are brilliant :
Downs risk- 1:12,000
Edwards' risk- 1:50,000
Spina bifida- screen negative.

DH says his wriggly ones are of a very high quality lol Grin

Got to go and ring dentist as part of the filling I had done on fri has fallen out Sad

mabel1973 · 10/04/2006 12:51

Afternoon ladies!

Compo - poor you - it can't last much longer surely!
Puppy - congrats on your excellent results.
Hk I am also tired all time. I never feel like I get enough sleep even though I am getting a good 8 or 9 hours every night (and that doesn't include the fact that I fall asleep in front of the tv at about 9 every night!). I said to DH last night ' why am I so tired?" he said 'because you're pregnant - durrr!' - oh yes - wish I'd thought of that!

I have been back to the doctors this morning about my ear (which is still blocked) I saw a different doctor and he has prescribed various things to get rid of the blockage and I am back on antibiotics again. I finally feel like someone has taken it seriously - lets hope it works!

curlygirl · 10/04/2006 12:51

compo - sorry to hear you are still feeling rough.

Normsnockers · 10/04/2006 17:04

Had a scan today and it shows that baby is well and growing normally ! Am very relieved.

Will go back for test results and an "anomally" (sp) scan at 20 weeks. Am looking forward to hopefully relaxing into the second half of the pregnancy after that.

Compo, sorry your still feeling sick, it's horrible isn't it.

Mabel, hope your ear gets sorted out soon.

HellKat · 10/04/2006 17:46

Whew at least it's not just me then Grin. I'm ready for bed between 10/10.30 every night, don't sleep well what with loo breaks and seeing to a fidgety toddler, then up between 4.40/5.30 (wide awake can't go back to sleep) and last until about 11/12 when i grab a couple of hours kip.
I've got ages to wait for my scan (3rd May), how many of you are finding out the sex?
Finally got my physio booked hooray, 28th April. Can't wait. I now can barely move because it's hurts so much. Here's hoping to a less painful May & beyond Grin.
Have a great night girls xxxxxxxxxxxxx

calvemjoe · 10/04/2006 19:52

Mabel, I'm glad someone has taken your ear seriously, hopefully it'll be better soon.

Norms, I'm glad your scan went well.

Hellkat, I've been in bed by 10 since day 1 and I can't see myself getting more energy anytime soon. I do have low blood pressure and no energy can be a side effect but I think it's just pregnancy to be honest.

I've got my 20 week scan tomorrow and we will be finding out the gender if baby is willing. Have lot's of wriggles right now so I'm sure everything's ok. I'm really excited about seeing my little one again.

Hope everyone's well x

Marls001 · 10/04/2006 20:08

Coffee is doing wonders for me Grin. I’ve got it in flavors like caramel and hazelnut. Never used to drink the stuff before we came here (to a colder climate). But it’s great – a little at 10:00 am, a little at 4:00 pm … and I’m set.

Yuk; Compo, sorry. Have you tried preggie pops?

LOL Puppy on what your DH said!! And congrats.

Getting geared up and excited for London!! Posted some questions on chat.

We’re definitely finding out the gender next Wed. Can't even read a book without glancing at the last chapter first ... Grin

puppy · 10/04/2006 20:27

Thanks mabel and marl for the congratulations for my triple test results.
Fingers crossed your ears get better mabel1973
Norms congrats on our scan.
Sorry to hear your in pain HK, Have you get SPD?
Good luck with the scan calvemjoe.

DH doesn't want to know the sex so I will have to wait till september, Our scan is 10th may so ages away

I have been naughty again and bought a lovely little outfit with matching booties. Blush

puppy · 10/04/2006 20:28

your scan , norms lol

mandaz · 10/04/2006 20:51

Marls - it's good to hear of people not always having negative experiences of divorce and seperation. My Solicitor is indeed very nice and has kept me well informed.

Is anyone else having lower stomach ache? It feels like I've been kicked in the bottom of my stomach. I'm still not sure that I'm feeling movement either. I think I feel something but it's so quick it's gone by the time I try and feel it again. I have my scan on Thursday so I'm looking forward to that.

I keep looking at little bodysuits etc. I'm getting really tempted! I got a little sleeping bag (grobag) delivered the other day and it's so cute! I'm going to be buying some more nursery stuff in the next couple of weeks. I'm amazed at how reserved I'm being - I thought I'd have bought everything by now as I have no patience.

Hope everyone else is well Smile

HellKat · 11/04/2006 09:03

Morning all.
Cal- Good luck today! Here's to finding out if it's a boy or a girl Smile
Puppy- Yep hun, got spd and chronic back pain. It's alot worse this time around but luckily got the physio soon so hopefully it'll ease up a bit.

Little one's still not kicking as such but feels like she's stretching her arms & legs at the same time, iykwim. I'm getting alot of tightenings and definite shifts (can see bump move aswell) so not worried at all.
Can't believe we're nearly halfway there already!!! It's going so quickly, before we know where we are we'll be posting on the birth announcements Grin.

Bella23 · 11/04/2006 09:39

Morning ladies

Well am very jealous to read that some of you have felt loads of movements - I really don't think I can feel any!! mmmm......all a bit worrying! I will be 18 weeks on Friday, as a first timer do you think this is normal?

Calvenjoe - wow your 20 week scan is today, fantastic. Mine is not until the 19th May at 23 weeks so feels like an eternity away!!

Hellkat - sorry to hear you are in back painSad Glad you have a pyshio booked.
Lots of baths in the mean time to ease those muscles

Compo - sorry to hear that you are still feeling sick, how unfair!!

Well off to search the internet for foetal movement at 18 weeks to see how much I can panic myself with self diagnosis!!Grin

calvemjoe · 11/04/2006 10:11

So excited about my scan I couldn't sleep! Just hope baby agrees to be in the right position so we can find out who it is Grin

Mandaz, I'm getting loads of lower tummy pain, especially if I tense up my tummy muscles and after swimming.

Bella, It's only been 4 weeks between my scans and then it's going to be a long while before we see this little one again if all is well, so part of me wishes it was a bit later like yours is.

Hellkat, I'm glad you're seeing a physio, hopefull the pain will ease soon.

Hope everyone is well x

mabel1973 · 11/04/2006 10:13

Hi all.
Hope evryone's well.
Bella - don't stress yourself out! I felt DS (my 1st) at 18 weeks, however I wasn't sure at first if it was wind Blush just a sort of bubbling feeling.
Calvemjoe - good luck today! I hope you are going to tell us all what you are having - I can't wait to find out!
I don't have my scan til 2nd may - which seems ages away I will be 21+4 weeks by then!
HK - poor you. I hope it eases off for you. I had sciatica right at the beginning, but it eased off after about 9 weeks. I am sure it will return at the end, bit I know how miserable it is to be in pain with your back :(.
DH felt some little movements last night for the 1st time, so that was great, i think it's another lively one!

compo · 11/04/2006 10:43

Hi everyone. Feeling a bit better today as got a good night's sleep so hoping the end of the sickness is in sight!! Bella - I didn't feel my first baby move until after the 20 week scan so don't worry!! I remember lying there at the scan willing myself to feel what I could see wriggling about on the screen but nothing!
My scan is 4 weeks tomorrow - 8th May. Seems to be dragging. We're going to find out the sex and then I'll probably buy lots of stuff I don't need!!

OP posts:
HellKat · 11/04/2006 10:54

Thanks all.
It is dragging up until the 20 wk scan. Going to be even longer after that.
Can't wait to hear what you're having Cal! Grin

Stocked up here with heat pads, thank goodness i can get a pack of 5 in Poundland. Alot cheaper than name brand ones and work just the same.

curlygirl · 11/04/2006 11:31

good luck with the scan cal Smile
I am also suffering a bit with aches and pains, sciatica type twinges and pains in my pelvis. I think it's alot to do with carrying dd on my hip. I am not very fit normally and my posture is shocking so I hope it doesn't get worse. I think I may need to try some yoga or pilates.
I also had an episode of stress incontinence last week for the first time ever - I was mortified.Shock. I have had a terrible cold and every time I coughed or sneezed it happened. Needless to say, I am now doing pelvic floor excercioses like a demon Grin

Coriander73 · 11/04/2006 12:23

Hi everyone,

I've not felt anything other than some bubbles last week. Have been willing it on but alas nothing! 18 weeks on Friday, 20 week scan 2nd May. Have to have bloods redone again as platlets are still getting lower - which is a problem in delivery if your blood isn't clotting!! So, there I am imagining the worst but midwife has told me not to worry as at the worst they'll do a platlet tranfusion.

My boss hadn't seen me since week 9 so when she saw me yesterday she commented on large my bump was for 18 weeks.....like your an expect I told her (no kids, career obsessed etc)...that really pissed me off!

Compo, really feel for you. I've not been sick since last Sunday & do feel heaps better if not 100% but it's more managable...you will start to feel better SOON!

Is anybody else NOT going to find out the sex?! :o

Bella23 · 11/04/2006 12:31

Thanks everyone for the reassurance.
Have been sat here all morning trying to "tune in" and I think sometimes I do feel something but could be just imagining it!!Grin

LexyB · 11/04/2006 13:08

Hi everyone Still just about keeping up with the all the news.

It has been really busy at work the last few weeks and i'm finding it really tiring. Have decided I need a wife so can come home to clean house all washing done and a hot meal. That is the worst thing about working is trying to keep on top of everything else as well. DH helps a bit at weekends but I am always in first from work so tend to get on with things. And with 5 kids in the house there is always something that has to be done. Panicking slightly about how I'll manage once this baby comes especially in I have a caesarian ( which I am considering ).

Work itself is pretty crap at the moment as we are so short staffed and last week on the three days I worked I ended up with no lunch break on all three days, worked till gone 6 twice ( meant to finish at 4 30 ) and still ended up having to go into the hospital on Friday morning for 3 hours with toddler in tow to catch up on stuff - I am a community midwife. So next time you are p***d off at your midwife remember most of us are working mums too. Sorry rant over. Just frustrated with lack of staff and not being able to give people the care I want to without much unpaid overtime on my part.

Feeling a bit low as well as it was 1 year agoi had my first M/C. Funny to think that babe would be 4 months old now. Would have been interesting as 18month old currently having a severe case of terrible two's.

Good luck to everyone with 20/40 scans soon. Mine is 2 weeks away. Can't wait to find out what it is so can start shopping - how shallow does that sound. Have a feeling its another boy ( have 3DS's already ) and that is what mummygow predicted with chinese calander ( on pregnancy pages )so watch this space. Have no clue what to call it if it is. DH and I struggled to come up with DS3 name - it was the only name we both liked and he has told me he doesn't like ANY boys names.

Lysettes · 11/04/2006 13:44

afternoon everyone!

day off yesterday (taken holiday) spent waiting indoors for dhl all day, til lthey delivered at 430! and it was a gorgeous day outside too...

marls - i'm taking a supplement of that too - my mil is a kiwi and they're really up on that kind of thing so it's been suggested very strongly i should take it Smile

we'll be hopefulyl finding out the sex at our 21 week scan - on 27th april, which feels like ages, but will go really quickly i'm sure!

calvemhoe - hope all goes well today!

puppy - those are great stats! currently trying to find out my ratios, but no one seems to want to tell us...

Cori - apparently i'm huge (according to all the "experts" I work with), but at ob clinic this morning the midwife said all was the right size!

Got to listen to heartbeat again today - strong and easy to find, which was a relief!

b pressure still playing up - 130/100 today, and the consultants have said i should be signed off work in two weeks if it's not any better - looking forward to telling my boss that one Grin

take care, and try not to get caught in the rain everyone
xx
