Hi, anyone else out there who may be at the very earliest point of pg? I haven't taken a test yet but feeling nauseous and tired and thinking this is it

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 15/10/2012 16:17

redsauce I could have written your post except that I have a 13 month ds. Same due date! I would phone your surgery and ask as everywhere appears to be different. My surgery has changed procedures since last time. Have been given a tiny booklet with a number to call.

Lyftiduft · 15/10/2012 16:31

good news james

dreamy thanks, but should've said they weren't consecutive, 2 were pre-DS (who's almost 2).

curiosity with you on the tight feeling across the tummy Hmm

red, hi, it's all changed round here. Went to Drs reception this morning to fill in form, apparently you don't do that now and you have to phone the surestart centre for a m/w appointment at 8 weeks... have been given the bounty pack though, immediately binned most of it Grin

The chinese calendar thingy works for DS if I do the one that considers lunar/Chinese age... apparently this one is a girl.

llama hope your pretending to drink went ok!

PseudoBadger · 15/10/2012 16:40

Hello everyone :) Just got my BFP, due 15th June :o
I already have a 20 month DS and I've forgotten everything about pregnancy!
Although.... Is it normal that instead of feeling broody like I was, I'm now crapping myself about this?

dreamydays · 15/10/2012 18:06

Hi everyone and congrats newbies!

rue that's great news, yay! And james too! :)

expat sympathies on navigating unfamiliar system. I had DD in Switzerland and now live in France - in both cases I've not had a clue what to do, you can't really ask anyone, and I've had to find a gynaecologist in a hurry! Luckily I now have an excellent dr who speaks English.

Loving the bicarb of soda idea! Anyone got results?

Curiosity (babybrain Grin yay!) you mentioned Facebook. On my last pg thread (before mc in July) there was a mass exodus to Fbook. I was nervous (I am a privacy freak) but I have to say, it worked really well. Someone set up a secret group and no one could see it, at all, apart from the members. It was well-designed for chatting as eg you can have lots of chats at once, add photos etc. so I'd be up for it if others are.

dreamydays · 15/10/2012 18:07

PS I'm with you on tight feeling in tummy - I haven't put on weight but waists are definitely tight. And I don't seem to have a bra that fits!

LadyFlumpalot · 15/10/2012 18:31

I don't mind being in a Facebook group - as long as everyone promises not to flay me for my supremely unmumsnetty and un-feminist photos Blush I'm a photographers model in real life.

The nausea is better today, I'm craving McDonalds chips!

EddieIzzardIsOrange · 15/10/2012 18:32

Hello everyone, glad to see there are a few more bfp's joining us on the thread, wonder if we're going to get one for every day of the month?

Hows everyone feeling? I got some new anti-sickness drugs today and have managed a sandwhich, a cup of tea, a bottle of lucazade and a twix since lunchtime without throwing up once! I am super excited....sad how pregnancy reduces your thrills isnt it?! However on the negative side, I will be a nice semi-detached bungalow size by June if I continue to celebratory eat!

Agree on the old bosoms front too, not so much my boobs but my nipples feel mauled (tmi? guess its going to get worse as we talk mucus plugs and stretch marks!)

At work atm but will be peeing on bicarb soon as I get in, anyone done it yet? Anyone hoping for/thinking its a certain gender?

Have a scan on Friday so excited for that, glad to see some people have had ones already too and are getting great news

Already in a size up jeans but still have to unbutton towards the end of the night (if I'm at home, I dont undo it at work and let it all hang out! Although if i could....) and bought a nice huge jumper today too so I can snuggle up as I get fatter and not worry about it being clingy

Anyone had any names chats yet? I know its early but me and DP do not agree on names so it might take us 35 weeks to choose one!

PseudoBadger · 15/10/2012 18:45

Wow LadyFlumpalot you're gorgeous!

PseudoBadger · 15/10/2012 18:46

Oops posted too early! Is anyone else still BFing? DS is still feeding morning, nap, bed and sometimes at night. I'm ok with it so far but we'll see :o

pillowupmyjumper · 15/10/2012 18:51

hello everyone

got a BFP yesterday and due on the 22nd (i think)...i am crapping myself even though this is very much wanted

it's early days yet so i can't get to excited in RL but i can in here ... woo hoo!

just wondered, is anyone else having a sort of racing heart thing... i think might just be the phyiscal manifestation of anxiety

llamallama · 15/10/2012 19:12

Badger - I'm breast feeding my 12 month old. Only bed time, once during night and morning. I'm going to see if she self weans during this pregnancy. Not sure I could cope with tandem nursing!

My pretending to drink went quite well I think! We went to a cocktail bar so I could subtly order a virgin cocktail but it looks quite convincing!

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 15/10/2012 19:36

I have not long stopped breast feeding . Have heard that the change in milk can put toddlers off though and encourage self weaning. Though plenty of people seem to tandem feed successfully. .

The Facebook group sounds like it could be good.

This pregnancy was planned, but I'm also kind of freaking out. Trying to remain calm and not get sucked into googling double buggies and new houses.

RueDeWakening · 15/10/2012 19:43

I'd be up for a FB group, so long as its a secret one - I've literally this weekend set up one for my DD's group of mums, we still have 90 ladies chatting away, 6 years on from our BFPs Grin (god that makes me feel old lol)

PseudoBadger · 15/10/2012 19:53

Well my dirty little secret (and the reason I'm freaking out) is that we live with my parents at the moment and the house is already full to bursting. Somehow we need to get out of here

Thanks for the BF info, DS is 20 months, he's got to want to stop soon right? :o

LadyFlumpalot · 15/10/2012 20:02

Thank you PseudoBadger! It's mostly photoshop and good makeup though.

RueDeWakening · 15/10/2012 20:21

Eddie DH mentioned names the other night - not in any particularly helpful way, mind, it was more ". What do you think?" style "help". It took us 39 weeks to decide DD's name, DS & his brothers were named at about 22 weeks, as we'd found out what we were having at the 20 week scan.

ExpatMamaToBe · 15/10/2012 20:31

dreamy Thanks, this kind of makes me feel better. I keep telling myself that women used to give birth in the woods so I can certainly do it on my own in Italy.

I'd be up for a FB group too, the 'secret' ones seem to work well. I can set it up if everybody else is busy. Let me know.

Ate the whole box of Choco Leibniz by Bahlsen a couple of hours ago so can really only blame myself for the bloated belly. I must stop eating sugar ASAP... but it tastes too good!

Re names, my husband and I are from two different countries so we'll have to find names which we can both pronounce. This is gonna be fun Wink

PseudoBadger · 15/10/2012 20:31

Has anyone else recently bought several items for your winter wardrobe and is now regretting it?

ExpatMamaToBe · 15/10/2012 20:38

PseudoBadger Bought a pair of skinny jeans last Saturday and found out I was pregnant two days later Confused

dreamydays · 15/10/2012 21:20

expat great if you want to set up a FB group! Bet you'll have a great pg in Italy, they're so child-friendly.

rue wow re group lasting 6 years - does that mean you've just found out each others' real names for the first time after so long?!

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 15/10/2012 22:26

badger I take it the rental market isn't good where you live? Some new build company's are offering 95% mortgages again. We stupidly left our mortgage application until I was a full time sahm. Don't like being classed as a dependant on the forms. Hmm

RueDeWakening · 15/10/2012 22:43

dreamy no, we've been FB friends for ages, but not had a "group" place to witter on about life, kids, husbands, etc etc :o and tbh on the forum we started out on (now defunct) there was much more sharing of rl info than there is here so quite a few put their first names at the bottom of posts and similar.

I do wonder how many people I know irl post on MN, it adds a certain mystery to proceedings!

How does the FB secret group thing work wrt adding people? Anyone know whether you have to be FB friends to be invited to join, or does having the link via a PM or something work too?

LadyFlumpalot · 16/10/2012 06:32

Rue The person to create it adds people. Then they add people, but the adds have to be approved by the creator of the group. If its a secret group then sending the links over PM won't work as non members won't be able to see it.

DontmindifIdo · 16/10/2012 08:33

expat - those will be your post baby test jeans, aim to be back in them for this DCs first birthday! Grin

eddie - we've been having the name argument conversation, think we've got 2 boys names we both like, and currently DH likes one name off my girls list, but it's not my favourite, think I need to work on him a little...

I'd be up for a Facebook group too.

Dillydollydaydream · 16/10/2012 10:10

Def up for a secret FB group too. No one irl knows I'm pregnant apart from my dh so I can't moan chat to anyone about morning sickness, sore boobs and being knackered.
I'm a 6/7 weeks now, soon be time to make an appointment to book in with mw I think?

Hope everyone's ok today? I'm def more rounded in the tummy area but as the 'baby' is about the size of a blueberry It's obviously just fat or fluid retention!
