Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MummyTeach85 · 12/10/2012 17:23

Hello Collector, I have been having the hot flushes around those times, it worries me as I usually get these temp changes just before my period arrives. And I am currently sat under a blanket.

I have also had lots of burps. From all sorts of foods or activities. Nor bottom burps tho!! Maybe they are to come.

Everything is crossed for all of us.

MummyTeach85 · 12/10/2012 17:36

Hiya James,
Sorry to hear about your inconclusive scan, must be a worrying time. Hopefully your bloods will show rising HCG and that all is well. How many weeks are you? It much be hard to see such tiny Pips.

Fingers crossed for you.

ella0 · 12/10/2012 17:40

Fingers crossed for you, James, Rue and cereal.

LadyFlumpalot · 12/10/2012 17:59

Fingers crossed for us all... An ectopic pregnancy is a major fear for me.

thedevilisinthedetail · 12/10/2012 18:02

Fingers crossed indeed for James, rue and cereal.

I've gone through dates again and midwife has decided she wants to see me tomorrow morning and then scan (though not sure if that will be tomorrow) to check how far along I am. I think only about 5 but am feeling so dreadful and last period was really light so maybe just implantation. So tired I feel like I will pass out out cry most of the time.

dreamydays · 12/10/2012 18:29

james sorry your scan was inconclusive - how frustrating. I had a v early (5 week-ish) scan with DD as I was bleeding and I remember they couldn't see anything much then either. In particular they couldn't see a heartbeat. They told me to come back in a week - which I did, and there was the heartbeat clearly! Fx for you.

Rue sorry to hear about your spotting. Fwiw when I've had it, I've been told to take it easy: once I was put on bedrest and another time to avoid strenuous exercise etc. So put your feet up if you can! (I'm now taking progesterone which fx has meant no spotting this time.)

On boobs, yes I reckon everyone must think I've had a boob job! Are you guys still wearing underwired bras? I'm not keen to give them up!

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 12/10/2012 21:02

Thanks everyone, dreamy when you say they couldn't see anything much, could they see the yolk sac or the embryo or was it pretty much an empty sac? Thanks for the positive story, I feel a bit deflated tonight and worried it's an ectopic. I'm working my way through the halloween sweets we bought, and I've just about eaten my weight in tiny chocolate pumpkins.

Ooh devils, maybe you'll have to join the may group! one month less to wait Smile

TheBakersWife · 12/10/2012 21:08

Good evening all. Well blimey it's been a roller coaster ride this week. Thoughts are with you cereal james rue. Here's hoping for a continuation of massive sore knockers, hormonal mood swings, flatulence and overwhelming tiredness for us all. But can I ask are bushy eyebrows and beard hair a pregnancy symptom or is that just me?! I had a shock today when I saw my Dennis Healey's in the bathroom mirror and then, complete horror, find a great long (blonde thank god) chin hair. So unattractive! Grin

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 12/10/2012 21:09

dreamy I am. Damned if I'm giving them up just yet. Grin

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 12/10/2012 21:20

Bakerswife, when I was pregnant with my son I got a hairy belly, didn't get one with my daughter, I think it was the boy hormones! Might be a bit early for that though, it might just be you Grin I found a long cheek hair the other day, part and parcel of getting older I think!

RueDeWakening · 12/10/2012 21:23

dreamy I had underwired BFing bras for both of mine so far :o you do have to hunt them out though, they aren't easy to find. The underwiring isn't wire, it's actually plastic which isn't as hard so doesn't cut into the breast tissue. Or something.

TheBakersWife · 12/10/2012 21:53

Hairy belly lol! So much to look forward to! Grin

dreamydays · 13/10/2012 09:21

OMG chin hairs and hairy belly, please no!!

james all they could see was a little dark mass and it was too early to tell what it was. But they did say for sure that it was in the right place, ie not ectopic. If yours was ectopic I'm pretty sure they would have picked it up at your scan.

DH says I look "upholstered" this morning. Thanks for the tip on underwired bras rue - where did you get them from?

devils good luck. Exciting if you're further along than you thought!

llamallama · 13/10/2012 10:57

So I'm off to an all day hen do today...I'm one of the bridesmaids.

I intend to "pretend" to drink all day!

Any tips?

So far I have:

  • order lime and soda and say its vodka. Though this will be very unusual in itself as I normally only drink wine
  • order a large wine but not actually drink it, maybe carry it around & then "accidentally" put it down somewhere
  • order virgin cocktails with the excuse of "it's a hen do let's treat ourselves"
  • also avoiding being at the bar with people so they don't offer to buy me a drink

But how to cope at dinner when wine will be on the table and it will be more obvious???

Ahhhhh!! Don't know what to do! "I'm on anti biotics" is the BIGGEST "I'm pregnant" alert!! So don't want to use that one!

When I was pregnant last time I did a lot of 'pretending to have a really bad hangover' so I couldn't stomach drinking, but don't think that will work today!

Littlemissimpatient · 13/10/2012 11:26

Hello can I join? BFP on thurs, only 4 wks.
Had 3 mc previous so very nervous but want to come on here as I can't tell anyone yet, except DH of course!

Llamallamacould you have lemonade in a wine glass and say its a spritzer?
Wisdom teeth coming in is a good one, then you can be on strong pain killers.

Littlebiker · 13/10/2012 11:42

Hi all, is there room for me? No idea about due date! My last pill was on the 16th September and I got my BFP yesterday. Little bit of cramping is scaring me! Xx

RueDeWakening · 13/10/2012 11:47

llama stomach upset? so sticking to lime & soda or water? Spritzers might work.

Have one glass of wine with dinner and just don't drink (all of) it. I had a small glass last night, was very nice! Guidelines I think say don't drink at all, but research doesn't back that up, 1-2 units once or twice a week seems fine. Mind you, I'm happily eating dippy eggs etc too so feel free not to listen to me :o

DontSweatTheSmallStuff · 13/10/2012 11:52

Llama. I once discovered It's amazing how long you can make one glass of lemonade white wine and soda etc last if you try.

llamallama · 13/10/2012 12:57

Good plan! I like the lemonade in a wine glass plan!

I'm still breast feeding so have perfect excuse not to drink loads, just need to pretend to have a couple through the day!

DontmindifIdo · 13/10/2012 14:11

Llama - i intend to drag out my technique from last time, it requires some strong backbone.

So if anyone directly challenges your non-drinking with "are you pregnant?" loudly misunderstand (it's important this next bit is basically screetched so the whole table can hear) "oh my god!! do you think I look pregnant? I know I've put on a couple of pounds, but really do you think I look pregnant? I'm so binning this dress after tonight!!" - que an embarrassed friend saying "no of course you don't look pregnant" then you keep talking over any attempted to ask again why you aren't drinking with asking other people at the table (again, loudly) "X thought I looked pregnant in this dress! Go on, be honest, am I too fat for it?" (if you can get shiny eyes at this point, all the better).

At this point, friend X will be dying of embarrassment, you can then 'understand' she meant because you weren't drinking, not calling you fat and say "oh so you don't think I look pregnant? Ok, no I'm not feeling great so not drinking, that's all. Still, wake up call, i'm going on a diet before the wedding!".

The issue of you not drinking won't be discussed again. No one will dare suggest you are pregnant.

MummyTeach85 · 13/10/2012 14:38

Dontmind that is hilarious!!

I am really bloated today, I look way past my five weeks. But it is also really painful, like trapped wind. feel I need a big fart but couldn't possibly say that on mumsnet

Am drinking ginger tea atm hoping it helps and nibbling on fruit. Any pearls of wisdom?

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 13/10/2012 17:11

MummyTeach have you tried windeze? it's safe to use in pregnancy. Also peppermint tea is good apparently. I think you can buy a tea specifically for digestion too. Or try gentle excercise/stretches, like lying on your back holding your knees and rocking from side to side a bit. I remember someone suggesting you get on all fours, then put your elbows and head on the floor, it should "align" things and let the wind out! Probably one to do in private unless it'd give your other half a chuckle! Grin

MummyTeach85 · 13/10/2012 18:47

James it worked! Massive burp!! Now I can just feel the popping gas continue it's journey!

MrsMargoLeadbetter · 13/10/2012 22:11

Checking in.

Was busy with ttc this month. However OPK showed up postive 3 days in a row. Dr Google suggested either PCOS (which I have) or potentially pregnancy. Tested yesterday am, 2 tests confirmed I am.

Bit shocked as had "a period" end of Sept. Although was v light and short. Had some bleeding with DS so not too concerned.

So should be due 12 June.

Determined to not put on as much cake weight this time.

Hope you are all feeling ok.

Here is to the long wait for the 12 week scan.

FrustratedSycamoreBonks · 13/10/2012 23:08

Hi mrsmargo congratulations! Grin
