Lorelei353 · 11/10/2012 14:38

Oh yeah, I'm a bit emotional too JamesAndTheGiantBanana (was going to abbreviate to James but felt weird Smile)

I got an email this morning to say someone in our office had a stroke and surgery two nights ago. He's not doing too well. I know this man, but not that well. We're hardly close but I've been out in groups for pints with him and he's a decent guy. Nearly burst into tears on the tube reading the email though. Not my usual reaction!

MrsJLS85 · 11/10/2012 17:13

James good luck for your early scan tomorrow. I will be going next week too.
For those with lack of symptoms, it is still quite early. With DC1 my symptoms didn't start til after 7 weeks. This pregnancy they started at 6 weeks, but I don't know if thats because its my second time around (or maybe I'm carrying twins eeek!) or some other reason, like perhaps I've got my dates wrong. So don't worry, I'm sure the symptoms will come soon enough

DontSweatTheSmallStuff · 11/10/2012 17:19

Welcome to all the newbies Smile

Still not many symptoms here either. No tender or growing boobs. No MS although I didn't get that with the other 2 either so fingers crossed. Just starting to feel a bit tired but I am very hormonal. I forgot how psychotic I get in these early weeks. Poor dh bears the brunt of it and is very patient with me bless him.

RueDeWakening · 11/10/2012 21:15

Am spotting, started this afternoon. Wait and see time, I guess. Sad

AnotherCerealNameChanger · 11/10/2012 22:39

Rue I'm so sorry, fingers crossed

Skinnydecafflatte · 12/10/2012 06:36

Oh rue I hope it stops and that you are not in any pain?

MummyTeach85 · 12/10/2012 08:53

Hello can I join? One week ago I got my BFP with a Tesco test. This was 14 days after my first ever positive opk two months after starting ttc. So as you can imagine I am feeling too lucky to feel secure yet. Only slight symptoms. Nausea on an off, lots of burps, I was up 4 times in the night to pee, I have loads of CM, and am pretty knackered.

I am also suffering from viral laringytus so have lost my voice and am now coughing lots!! Every time I cough I clutch Pip in case I cough him out!!!

I think I am 4+6 with an EDD of the 15th of June!

LadyFlumpalot · 12/10/2012 08:57

Sorry guys - TMI but my gosh, my boobs HURT today. I'm very flat chested normally (don't quite fill an A cup)... I'm bursting out of my one B cup now! I'm liking this, still got a flat tummy and now I have big boobs too! Grin

MummyTeach85 · 12/10/2012 09:13

Ladyflumpalot that sounds great! Lol

I told my DH the other day that his favourite ph symptoms had started, bigger boobs!! He was chuffed.

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 12/10/2012 09:52

Rue, there are a fair few reasons for bleeding in early pregnancy, apart from mc. Implantation bleeding can happen up to 9 weeks, apparently, while everything settles down. Cervical erosion (irritable cervix) which can make you bleed after sex or even if you've been abstaining like me Hmm Placenta previa, when the placenta forms over the top of the cervix which can cause a bit of bleeding when you move about a lot, but shouldn't cause any pain. I've also read about something called a subchorionic hemorrhage, which I'd never heard of, which is when a blood clot forms between the uterine wall and the chorion (sac?) that surrounds the baby, which can lead to bleeding, but often heals by itself.

Are you having any pain? How far along are you? Hoping you're ok x

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 12/10/2012 10:04

Yay for bigger boobs! Not sure mine are any bigger, I have the odd sharp shooting pain in them but they aren't tender. I tend to get seriously sore bosoms at about 5 months pregnant, not usually in the early stages.

Get well soon mummyteach, sounds nasty! It's crap when all you can take is paracetamol, too.

DontSweat, hormones are fun aren't they? (not) I managed to start a big row with my dp about not being able to watch Downton Abbey the other day (he hadn't said I couldn't or anything, I er, assumed, and basically shouted at him for nothing) Blush Poor dp.

Off for my scan later, everything except legs crossed (as it'll be transvaginal, might make things tricky for the scan lady!) Grin

princesschick · 12/10/2012 10:58

Rue I'm so sorry. It's really stressful isn't it. I know exactly how you feel. Poor you Sad However, I've known loads of people who've had spotting in early pregnancy and they've gone on to be fine. Take care of yourself and rest up. Thinking of you xx

Cereal how are you getting on? Still thinking of you too xx

James I've got everything crossed for your scan. Wishing you lots and lots of luck and love xx

Teach err to laryngitis that sounds absolutely pants. But congrats! And you are totally lucky getting there after 2 months! Envy ! In the nice way of course, I've been on this road for 3 and a half years now and still no DC! That could all change tho and I'm totally excited now :)

Lady even the duvet was hurting my boobs last night, they seem to change throughout the day, like mildly hurty now if they are prodded or caught on things (I'm so dozy at the moment!) - door handle anyone? Ouch! And they seem to be much more painful at night.

Today I woke up to really bad nausea - DHs fresh coffee, MiLs rubber gloves, the compost pot and my towel (but it was clean from the wash today!)

My 12 week scan is booked in for 29/11 although I will be closer to 13 weeks then. It all seems a bit real now. Still terrified about this weekend being doom weekend. However, symptoms seem stronger this time. Here's hoping.

Waves and ginger tea to you all xx

AnotherCerealNameChanger · 12/10/2012 11:24

hiya all - no more bleeding, DH does not wish to discuss at all and I am up to my ears in work so for now at least i am burying my head in the sand. I feel fine, no sickness, I'm quite tired but I am on the go 6am-10pm so I suspect thats pretty normal.

I am hungry though. I even stooped as low as eating DD's snacks last night as I couldn't wait until dinner. She has never had to share with mummy before and did so extremely grudgingly! Its the same as last time, needing red meat and protein, not interested in carbs, want meat, especially steak.

princesschick · 12/10/2012 11:30

Cereal that is great news. FX for you here. I hear ya on the snacking front. I am NEVER this hungry!! Poor DH is having to make dinner because I'm feeling to queasy to chop even carrots (the smell, the smell). So I'm relaxing in front of the telly basically waiting to be fed. God knows what MiL thinks of me... lazy cow probably!! As they don't know that I am pg!!

RueDeWakening · 12/10/2012 11:34

Thanks all - James that's really helpful, I assumed implantation bleeding would have gone by now. Maybe that's what it is, FX.

I'm 6 weeks afaik, still spotting but old blood (sorry tmi!) so not writing anything off yet. I'll drag myself up to epu on Monday morning to confirm one way or the other though I think. I've had spotting with both DD and DS, but that doesn't make it any less worrying! Although I guess my mmc was the only time I had no bleeding at all (god my body is rubbish at being pregnant lol).

MummyTeach85 · 12/10/2012 11:41

Princess that is why I can't relax!! It's just so quick, am not the lucky sort usually.

Thanks for the ginger tea, it now has a two pronged benefit, nausea and sore throat cure.

I have some hungry days and some not hungry days. Today is an off food day for sure. Not motivation to eat. Going to pop to sainsburys in a bit and see if I am inspired!!

CuriosityColaKilledTheCat · 12/10/2012 12:18

Hello, can i join you all?

I just got a bfp yesterday. Realised period was 5 days late! Due date will be 16th June 2013. Already have a 13 month old. It's still early days but fingers crossed all goes well.

DontmindifIdo · 12/10/2012 12:53

Hello MummyTeach!

So I've been having cramps for the last 3 days, but no spotting. Trying not to fear the worst. Been constantly hungry the last few days.

Now, as DH is out tonight and I can't have wine, I've called in to the posh chocolate shop near us and bought a selection so gorgeous chocolates to keep me going this evening. Oh lord, i'm going t be the size of a house by the time I get to 12 weeks at this rate!

MummyTeach85 · 12/10/2012 13:10

Oooo I did see some lovely rose and violet creams in the shop the other day, they might tempt me. This is the first day I havent been interested in food. Most unusual for me!! I haven't had any bleeding which I think is positive. Just so nervous, might get another test. Seeing my doctor on Monday.

DontSweatTheSmallStuff · 12/10/2012 13:41

Rue / Dont mind - fingers crossed for you both. I had lots of old blood spotting and horrendous cramps with ds1. He was ok - hope you will be too. It is very worrying when it's happening though.

Cereal -Glad to hear it's stopped. fingers crossed for you too. Whoops about your boss though. Did she say anything.

Mummyteach85 - lol at burps, with ds1 one of my friends who knew we were ttc guessed I was pregnant because I was burping so much. I tried to blame too many cups of tea but she wasn't convinced! Hope you feel better soon.

James hope the scan goes well. Your dh and mine could get together and share psycho pg partner stories. Grin

Envy at all the growing boobs. I'm still waiting for mine ( tiny A) to do something interesting.

I'm thinking of changing my name to DontSweatTheSmallStuffExceptWhenYouAre5WeeksPGandYourHormonesMakeYouWantToKillSomeoneJustForBreathing

CollectorOfCookbooks · 12/10/2012 16:47

Definitely expanding in the norkage area although DH says he can't see any difference - but a couple of my shirts are already looking distinctly strainy on a couple of buttons!

Went to the Docs today, am booked in to see the midwife in ten days (apparently they see you from 6 weeks where I live) and I've had my flu jab.

Starting to feel a bit more real, and I got all excited. DH is now very excited. But am still nervous, not least because my temp is all over the shop - I'm freezing cold during the day, particularly in the evening, then boiling hot from about midnight until 6am. Anyone else have that?

I've also got the burps - and the downstairs version too!!

Fingers crossed for us all - Cereal, what did your boss say?

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 12/10/2012 16:52

Hi, had my scan, not the best result really: inconclusive. She saw a sac, only 2mm long though, nothing visible inside it (yet?) as so tiny. Just a tiny black dot in a sea of grey. She said its either a VERY early pregnancy, or I have/am/going to miscarry, or it could point to there being an ectopic pregnancy. So basically they took a blood sample, they need another on Sunday, and they'll compare hormone levels. If they're rising, it's good, if they're falling it's bad. She said for a viable pregnancy they'd expect a 60% increase in 2 days. They won't compare levels til Monday though. And if the levels rise then they'll scan again on Tuesday to see if there are any changes in the sac. They want to rule out an ectopic. I hope it's not that!

I just poas, middle of the day, finally got a nice dark positive after a zillion insipid pastel pink lines. It'd be too bloody unfortunate if my nice strong positive was stuck in the pipes!! Angry

Fx anyway.
