Sounds lovely VQ. It's funny, I will have a glass of wine once a week on the house with DH but cannot drink it in front of others.

Balmoral chicken sounds tasty. Pudding?

MissMummy1 · 23/09/2012 21:51

Absolutely stuffed after a massive chinese binge with my sister! Now chilling with a bottle of (surprisingly okayish) fake wine and a dvd. Miss my man though soppy hormonal woman Sad

Sophiathesnowfairy · 23/09/2012 21:59

Hope you have had some attention detective

dh21 has rained all day here too. I took whingy DS out in the rain in his waterproofs. We walked to the park he wandered around touched everything, which was obviously wet and then marched out of the gate, disgusted, to walk home ( he is 2). It was nice to get some fresh air though and he enjoyed the walk.

Long hot bath tonight to sooth my stairs tumble aches and pains. Feel ok just a. Bit bruised and very tired today.

YellowWellies · 23/09/2012 22:22

We've had a cracking day. Took a ferry out to one of the more remote north isles (Rousay) it's full of archaeology so I must have walked five miles up hill and down dale exploring chambered cairns and brochs. Beautiful autumn sunlight up here (our weather is always the opposite of the rest of the UK!) and I do get a 'going somewhere exciting' thrill when a day out involves a boat trip. Thankfully the sea was beautifully calm. Got home, ate trifle whilst watching Kevin McCloud and then had a good laugh watching DH make hot chilli sauce out of Scotch Bonnet chillis he's grown on the window sill. Lots of optrex was involved - am making him have a bath before he takes a piss as otherwise junior could be an only child!!! I had a bath attempting to defuzz in time to go swimming tomorrow but it was done blind - so m'eh.... serves any bugger right for staring at a preggo ladies bits.

Lots of love to those suffering / having a glum day. Hope tomorrow is better!

YellowWellies · 23/09/2012 22:27

God his hot chilli sauce is actually really really tasty! Am v proud Smile

StuntNun · 23/09/2012 23:41

No heartburn woes for you then YW! Grin

Home, at last!

On bloody Fragmin. For a week. Referred for venogram. Appt a week on monday.

Can't say I was impressed with the management - the system, not the people! I rang triage to be told to go to A&E. Got to A&E and had a 3 hour wait. Seen and had a d-dimer (pointless test in pregnancy) which unsurprisingly was raised. Listened to the nurse arguing with the Reg for 20 minutes over management. Nurse wanted to refer to Obs. Reg, which I agreed with (in my head!). Med Reg was being arsey, even though he didn't know the values of fragmin used in pregnancy. He didn't think he needed their input. If I'd of used my brain, I'd of just gone to triage rather than ringing and being directed to A&E. A&E is useless for pregnant women!

Got shipped in to a clinical decision bay as I was about to breach the 4 hour time. Waited there for another 2 hours to be seen by obs SHO, then decision made for for fragmin, and venogram, which would be 'tomorrow'.

Then another 2 hour wait for prescription/appointment, due to crazy woman being shipped in and creating merry hell!

Appointment is a week on monday. TBH, if the pain goes, I'm not bothering. I don't want the risk to the baby. If I'm asymptomatic by then, I don't see the need.

Anyway, the poor people working there.... blimey there were some sights to behold. I even witnessed a fight Grin I'd not work in A&E for all the money in the world. Too many idiots out there. I had to bite my lip and wind my neck in before I said something to the fuckwit people!! Pregnancy hormones make me intolerant of them!

Leg still hurts after all that... :( Bah!

TheDetective · 24/09/2012 01:24

Oh, I forgot to add, just after the bloods were sent, I received a message from a guy I know 'Your bloods just arrived in the lab from ECC, hope all is ok'! I forgot, he's a biomedical scientist, working in my local Trust! Anyway, he processed them fast as lightening for me Grin.

It made me giggle though! Least I knew they had arrived in the lab quickly ;)

TheDetective · 24/09/2012 01:25

Ps. I am on my new laptop!! WOOHOO!!

And the house has been vacuumed with the new Dyson, and the dog hair has been obliterated!

I feel better for these facts!

Evilwater · 24/09/2012 04:30

Detective- I'm glad it is being sorted, and you have your tests soon. As for working in A and E, I'd crap my pants too!

The Sunday roast was good, the meat was a complete success, the however the veg- chard blackness. So I'm getting frozen veg next time.

So I'm up at 430 again. Drinking milk. My body is up but not my brain, I'd quite like this baby out now.....
Evil
P.s it's still raining from yesterday.

Titsalinabumsquash · 24/09/2012 05:52

Ahh another for the Fragmin club! Welcome Detective Grin

I'm glad you got it sorted-ish, a&e is a nightmare here too, the waiting times are madness and there always seems to be an intoxicated madman stuck next to me raising hell, either that or an elderly lady with dementia asking me for help every five seconds.

I slept ok last night, the days and nights are dragging now. Hurry up due dates!!!!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/09/2012 07:06

What a Night detective. Hope the pain eases off in the week.

We have run out of milk, and bread and I am not going to the shops till later. Just enough milk for one cup of tea, so I need to think tactically about when to have it!

Iheartpasties · 24/09/2012 07:19

oh my goodness, I have just found (online) some disposable hospital knickers, I'm not sure if I will buy any, but I just cannot help but laugh, some beautiful model is modelling them, what a job!!

DesperateHousewife21 · 24/09/2012 07:25

Went to bed at half 8 last night, only woke up once at 4ish for a wee so overall not too bad.

Got the mw this morning then meant to be seeing a friend this aft but she's got a tendency to cancel at the last min so not holding my breath.

Titsalinabumsquash · 24/09/2012 08:11

I'm having one of those days where I know I am meant to be somewhere and I can't for the life of me remember where. Confused

It's bucketing it down here, I don't have a coat big enough to cover the bump, I'm going to have to do a mad welly dash from the car into school and change when I get in. Grin

horseylady · 24/09/2012 08:29

I dreamt I lost my mucus plug last night and it looked like a jelly fish?!

Raining here today too :( bloody British weather :(

Iheartpasties · 24/09/2012 08:37

oh wow the rain sounds awful. Super hot and sunny here.

TheDetective · 24/09/2012 08:38

Am awake, despite a promised lie in as I was in bed so late last night. Oh well. More time to mnet!!

DP has to be one of the most antisocial sleepers in the world. I am seriously considering bunk beds for DS's room. I have such broken nights sleep with him snoring, duvet stealing, sweating, and trying to cuddle me when I'm in a comfy position and not wanting to be moved! I sleep like a log when I'm on nights, because I have the bed to myself!! I need to stop whinging! It's not like he can help it. But still.... This baby is going to be keeping me up, I don't need DP adding to it!!

Got hypnotherapy this morning. And no, DP isn't coming Grin He has attended the required sessions now lol!!

Brrrrrrr tis a bit horrible out there! Wish I was staying inside all day!

applepieinthesky · 24/09/2012 08:45

Gosh detective that sounds like one hell of a night. My a&e is crap too. Our trust was recently in the news for telling people to only visit a&e over bank holiday weekends if you are dying Hmm

tits I'm the same, haven't got a proper coat that will wrap around my bump. Wondering whether to buy a maternity one or just get one in the next size up which should see me through the whole winter.

DP is at work and I've just called in sick so it's just me and my doggy again. He's been a little angel since we came back from Center Parcs. I don't know whether he's still knackered from that or if he's finally growing up a bit - he was a year old a couple of weeks ago.

MissMummy1 · 24/09/2012 09:19

It's official, every day for the last week I've woken up at half 1, half 3 and half 5 to go to the loo. Reckon this is my body's way of preparing me for night feeds etc??

The teenager was late for school this morning. She's 17. How can she not know what time school starts?! Of course it's all my fault...

Massive storm surge rolling up the river here. I went out in DH's sea survival jacket this morning as none of my waterproofs fit me. Looked very fetching with my pink hunter wellies - not!

Detective glad you stuck it out and got some reassurance, even if it was a waste of time.

Hope all those feeling ill get better soon!

WaitingForMe · 24/09/2012 09:20

You have my sympathy Detective. After my car accident I was made to go to A&E. Doctor was very unsympathetic as there was no bruising... until he examined me and felt the bruising (my stomach slowly developed a black line over the next two days and it took 5 weeks to fade) and sent me to maternity triage after a four hour wait.

I wish there was a test one could take which categorised you as either:
a) Sad act who enjoys A&E visits and is here for attention
b) Passionately hates A&E visits and is here because they have medical need

ValiumQueen · 24/09/2012 09:25

apple I would go for a mat coat that you can either sell on, or would look ok after delivery. If you go one size up, it will not fit on the shoulders and bust, and probably will still not meet over the bump. I have a poncho so you could fit the whole family under it. Not exactly attractive though.

My sympathies detective I am guessing they do not know for sure about a clot, but need to treat you just in case. Hope you are soon pain and swelling free.

pass I went to the Hollybank near you. No pud as no room, but I did help dad finish off his meringue suprise as it was bigger than him. It was very funny, as it took a while to arrive, and when it did, he had forgotten what he had ordered. Suprise!

TheDetective · 24/09/2012 09:32

Yep VQ in one :)

I am a lucky bastard, wore my coat for first time since being pregnant, and I was able to do it up and tie the belt. Just. I think I'll just live with it undone if needs be. I drive too much so don't need a big coat really, and I'm not planning on going anywhere that might require one! I have a waterproof that I can utilise too although I'm quite sure that one won't fasten up!

Layering is your friend Grin

Iheartpasties · 24/09/2012 09:51

I did an online shop today and got the last few bits I had hoped to get - all we need to get is a car seat and pram. Only two things! woow! Feels good.

I managed to spend $100 online and then $40 at the craft shop (about 90 quid). I had been trying to be good but DH told me last night that our credit card had gone past the 1% deal, so we got charged $90 interest! That came as a big shock. I was annoyed coz I could have had a nice cut for that price, but I haven't had one coz I was trying to be good, so today I just thought stuff it and spent!!

I have four colours of ricrack though, such an essential!!!!! (not so much).

Elizadoesdolittle · 24/09/2012 11:03

Well I'm 33 weeks today. 7 weeks to go...yikes! Still I'm feeling quite prepared. All the unisex baby stuff is washed up to 6 months and bottles washed and sterilised (I'm hoping to breastfeed again but will express or do mixed after a while). I got really stressy when I moved DD onto mixed but this time I'll be more relaxed. I was constantly feeding DD for the first 2 months and if this one is the same I just won't have the time!

Got midwife appt this afternoon so looking forward to that. Aside from that its miserable weather here too so will be staying in doing more nesting.

I went to see Jesus Christ superstar last night, was brilliant. But I did get a numb bum, the seats weren't too comfy although we had a fantastic view.
