Vicks on boobs post-baby would be a really bad idea since it is harmful if ingested much like tissues VQ!

Not recommended for hand jobs either!

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 23/09/2012 14:11

Glad to see you are going to get checked detective.

Hopefully they can put your and my mind at ease

Evilwater · 23/09/2012 14:20

VQ- I don't think it's my waters leaking, cause I'm drinking loads to help with my constipation.

Must not forget my glasses!!!! I walked to my mums and felt awful.

I have no pain, so I don't think it was my waters.
Evil

ValiumQueen · 23/09/2012 14:23

evil still pooing like a rabbit? You poor thing. I had a really sharp pain this morning, made me cry. Shortly after I had a poo. It is not nice.

Evilwater · 23/09/2012 14:29

VQ most days nothing, some days it's rabbits and rarely normal.

I'm glad detective is getting checked out.

Evil ( feeling loads better while wearing her glasses)

LittleLolly · 23/09/2012 14:47

Hope you are ok detective, it's always better to be safe than sorry.

I am amazed some of you can still reach your toes and/or access your lady garden! I'm going for a pedicure and bikini wax on Friday and can't wait. I will be 35+5 so will have time to fit another in before baby comes I'm sure! A pedicure is my absolute favourite treat.

I have a bottle of champers left from my wedding, my favourite Taittinger, which is going in the fridge and being opened once baby arrives! I can't wait for it, haha.

Need some advice from you experienced Mums. I'm just packing my hospital bag and have a few questions:

How many nighties should I put in my labour bag? I'm hoping to have baby on MLU and be discharged after 6 hours. Will have another bag in case I have to stay overnight with another nightie/pjs in, and will keep this bag in the car just in case.

How many pairs of big knickers? I've got a 4 pack from primark for each bag, is is ok or not?

How many nappies for baby in each bag? And how many maternity pads for me?

ShellyBobbs · 23/09/2012 15:13

Detective Good luck

Lolly Just the one nightie will do for labour, especially as you have another bag packed for emergency. Your knickers are fine, if you need more if you stay in then somebody can bring more. I'd stick about 4 nappies in your hospital bag and about 6 in the other one or stick a pack in the boot, again you could have more brought in if needed. I think I'd just stick the pack of maternity pads in your bag if they don't take up much room to be honest, you just never know.

I used my contact lens small mirror to guide me with the razor last time, but think I'll grow it for a bit and get it waxed - won't have to bother or think about it again then.

applepieinthesky · 23/09/2012 16:03

detective glad you are getting checked out and hope it's something minor.

My mum keeps telling me to pack my hospital bag but I'm hoping that at 32 weeks I have plenty of time for that. Will sort it out by 35 weeks when I finish work. Speaking of work, I'm not going in tomorrow. My cold is slightly better but I still feel crap and have loads of aches. I have had an upset stomach for the last couple of days as well. Hopefully another day at home will have me almost back to normal.

horseylady · 23/09/2012 16:31

Last horse comp complete!! Can't believe I managed to do it but yay!!!!

Ive packed a nightie for labour, 4 pairs pants, two pjs, one dressing gown, socks, breast pads and mat pads.

Will pack babies bag tonight or tomorrow and am packing 4 vests, two sleep suits, lots of nappies and the outside coat thing we've bought him (with horse on) and cellular blanket and bibs and muslin squares. Should be ok. Oh and little hat thing!!!

I'm being kicked to pieces now!!

Evilwater · 23/09/2012 16:40

Horsey -I'm glad you finished your horse things.
Apple and shelly- I've packed my bag.

I'm cooking a roast at the mo, wish me luck as I generally don't do them.
It's a roast chicken, with boiled spuds, carrots, celery, peas, and a frozen Yorkshire pud.
Fingers crossed I don't cock it up.

This morning I was wondering weather I finished work to early, but after the small walk to my mums. I will NEVER think that again.

Evil

Passmethecrisps · 23/09/2012 17:15

Hi. Good luck with the roast evil. I am sure it will be delicious.

I went to Aldi this afternoon to check out the baby event. Got 3 muslin squares for £2.99. Seemed good value

GTbaby · 23/09/2012 17:21

Thanks for reassurance. I thought the pubic pain was SPD, but my dr I useless, I've asked for a referral to Physio but who knows how log that will take.

Any one got good tips for dealing with SDP? Sleeping on a duvet I don't think will help me as I have a memory foam mattress, don't even put a pillow under my bump. And I already sleep with a pillow between my knees. Any other tips appreciated. Will get on dr google later as well.

applepieinthesky · 23/09/2012 17:29

evil your roast sounds delicious. DP is cooking today so it's chicken breast in a tomato sauce and baby potatoes. Just scoffed a chocolate sundae and yogurt with granola as well.

ShellyBobbs · 23/09/2012 17:39

My lot have just finished the chicken casserole I started to cook at 5am yesterday morning, slow cooked yesterday, fridge overnight and eaten today :) Just have to find something for me to eat, I'm veggie.........

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/09/2012 17:52

Well what a boring day, went to FILs for a bit which was fine but apart from that we've just been at home. Dh either playing Xbox, watching F1 or on his phone. Seriously he might as well not be here he hardly speaks to me even when he knows I'm bored and fed up. The crappy weather doesn't help because I couldn't even take ds out (who has also been bored and whingy).
I get that it's dh's days off work and he wants to relax that's fine but it feels like im invisible.
I saw his sister today and her dp and he's so helpful, asking if he can do anything and offering to change nappies etc.

I'm having a v poo day today! I ask dh to do dinner (which he is doing) but he asks me the whole time what he needs to do (it's pizza and chips ffs) when they need to go on, how hot does the oven need to be, when to turn them etc I might as well do it myself!! Grr he better be more helpful when the baby is here or I won't be responsible for my actions.

horseylady · 23/09/2012 17:52

Shelly you cook two meals too?!

Yes pleasedi managed to compete, we didn't do great but this week when schooling I felt unbalanced, the horse felt unbalanced and was all a bit untidy!! Anyway it's done- I think I'm just going to hack out now to keep her ticking over as I'm still really comfortable in the saddle!! Until I can no longer do it!! My balance issue is less of a problem going in straight lines!! Will speak to my instructor anyway she if shell school her once a week so her routine doesn't change.

Baby now has hiccups!! My whole belly is rhythmically following them lol it's so funny!!

GTbaby · 23/09/2012 17:53

apple I got a chocolate Sunday from tesco today. Gona save it for tonight.

Bought my maternity pads from tesco today n tommy breast pads. All I need now is nipple cream n I nightie. N my packing is done Grin. Oh n cheap knickers. N which hazel. Ok maybe I need a few more things. Blush

TheDetective · 23/09/2012 18:20

I've been sat in frickin' A&E on my own for hours. Arse is numb.

Think DP was right. Meh.

horseylady · 23/09/2012 18:30

Better safe than sorry!!!!

TheDetective · 23/09/2012 18:39

A&E triage nurse just looked at me like I'm a time waster.

Reception area is full of Jeremy Kyle rejects and it smells like tramps pee.

Is it wrong that Im now hoping there is a problem just so I don't feel like I've wasted my time!!!

Seriously considering just going home and going to GP tomorrow.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 23/09/2012 19:03

Don't leave detective! It's hard though I know. I would maybe call the midwives if you have a 24 hr number and it's in same hospital maybe they could hurry things along?!

TheDetective · 23/09/2012 19:07

Was sent straight to A&E from maternity grrrr :(

ValiumQueen · 23/09/2012 20:32

Just been out for a lovely meal to celebrate my dads 79th. Kids were a bit manic by the end of it, and dad drunk and emotional, but I had a lovely time and managed to eat most of my meal. Balmoral chicken thing yum. Could not manage a pud, and missed a glass of wine. An old lady came over and said how beautiful my girls were, and that she had three with a similar age gap, nodding towards my bump.
