Ouch GT could well be SPD, best get it checked out.

Can we use veet? I'm pretty sure that last time round I just left it until about 39 weeks and then used veet and hoped it would see me through til after the birth. I may have used a shaver though - can't remember. Either way, she was born the next day so my timing was great!

I have no plans for today and DD is full of cold so I suspect morrisons might be the most exciting thing I do all day.....

Last week at work this week! I can't wait.

Thechick · 23/09/2012 11:50

gt I have the same. I thought it was just pregnancy. It's when I turn from one side to another at night on when I'm getting up from the sofa. The pain is immediate but doesn't last. I've had it for a while too.

StuntNun · 23/09/2012 11:53

I was laughing at Jaylee's description of her nesting, then I wandered off and cleaned the wine rack Hmm. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! I'm actually glad I did it now as what I thought was rust was actually just something spilled on it (it's next to the bin and DH has poor aim). I actually dusted all the wine bottles so now I won't know which ones have been there for ages. Our wine rack is brilliant, I got it from LIDL for £15 and assembled it myself it is a bit wobbly and it holds up to 30 bottles of wine! That said our household wine consumption has spiralled down to ridiculously low levels lately for some reason Wink.

Thankfully baby has been a bit more active this morning and my bump is definitely smaller - I've gone a notch tighter on my belt - so I think the reduced movements are due to a change of position rather than anything sinister. I have a scan on Friday at 34 weeks on the random whim of the consultant so I'll be able to have a squizz at junior then.

Right, off to take the dog for a walk somewhere fun as she has only been dragged down to the school and back lately so I think I'll take her up to the forest. She's currently asleep doing that snarling/twitchy running movement thing - probably chasing pink cats. Twice in the last couple of days I have seen the cat casually walk up to the dog and bite her on the leg! Is this normal cat behaviour? She doesn't bite anyone else, only the dog. My poor doggy is being bullied by a cat that's one sixth her size!

I wish I had a bath to soak in! Smile
I've been struggling to get into reading lately, I'm making do with baking jam tarts to kill an hour before lunch. Grin

Btw in regards to the wetting the baby's head thing, DP agrees with me and has told FIL he doesn't want to but FIL is a berk man set in his ways to the extreme, and he doesn't like me at all.
We'll tackle it when it arises but I'm not having it, I'm planning on going in, having baby then coming straight home like I did with the last 2, there will be no several days in hospital and like it or not I do have 2 other kids to think of much to fils dislike

ValiumQueen · 23/09/2012 12:34

Grayson also means 'son of the grey haired' which is apt. DH, not me, obviously. DD1 wants to call the baby Jesus as she loves Jesus and thinks God would like it. The last time we went to church was before I got pregnant, so I am amazed I have such an evangelist for a child. I explained that whilst it was a lovely name and a lovely idea, we did not want the baby to be picked on as it would be a strange choice in the UK.

Iheartpasties · 23/09/2012 12:34

Does anyone else have a mental check list that they cannot stop running over and over when they have a quiet moment! Some days I cant get my inner voice to shut up - just this last hour it hasn't stopped 'gah - shut up in there!!'.

Evilwater · 23/09/2012 12:44

I've not long got up! I must have needed it.
I think I might had to join the tens lady section of this thread. Blush I woke up, and it just kept coming out!!!

Evil

ValiumQueen · 23/09/2012 12:49

evil are you sure it is wee? I must admit in the morning, if I have slept, it is a rush to the loo, but if you have not had problems until now, be sure it is not your waters leaking.

ValiumQueen · 23/09/2012 12:55

iheart you are approaching bedtime in your hemisphere I believe. Perhaps this is just the running things over in your mind before bed thing, or is it all day? I think it is very understandable as we are losing control of so many things, trying to get control over what we can will be appealing on a subconscious level. If it is checking the cooker is turned off 20 times then it may be worth talking to someone.

TheDetective · 23/09/2012 12:55

IHeartPasties mmmhuh. All the time. My own running commentary with all the things I need to remember/do.

Never bloody stops!!

ValiumQueen · 23/09/2012 12:56

Likewise if your inner voice tells you to kill people Grin

Iheartpasties · 23/09/2012 12:59

VQ Yes it is almost bedtime, and so far the voice isnt telling me to kill anyone.

Annoyingly I keep noticing housework when pre-pregnancy I never noticed stuff!? It's things I cant do, and when the baby arrives I know for a fact I wont care about it, some sort of nesting torture type thing!? very stupid.

ValiumQueen · 23/09/2012 13:12

Not stupid Iheart. Not stupid at all. Our lives are gonna change majorly, even if we have older children and have been thought it before. I am finding it increasingly challenging to drive without having a panic attack type feeling. It is instinctual for us to want to be at home, and for the home to be safe, clean etc, as we are gonna have an infant soon. It is a self preservation thing, and majorly messes with our brains, affecting dreams, memory etc.

Iheartpasties · 23/09/2012 13:20

oh yes - the dreams!! the dreams! go away crazy dreams.

NervousAt20 · 23/09/2012 13:26

I second go away crazy dreams! But wish for the nesting, I just seem to feel so worn out all the time but there's still time for it to kick in

WaitingForMe · 23/09/2012 13:29

Re. wetting the baby's head DH won't be going anywhere but then he doesn't anyway. He's a real homebody and only sees his friends when I organise it. But I've bought a bottle of champagne for when we get home from hospital ( this one as I like the idea of keeping the sleeve in my memory box).

I wear my mums eternity ring so DH has been instructed to get me a bead for my charm bracelet instead. For him I've bought a special bottle of whisky that he can either open or save to open when baby is 18. He doesn't know he's getting a present.

daisychain76 · 23/09/2012 13:36

I love the name Grayson VQ. Makes me think of a handsome, laid back type ( like the one in Cougar Town). Dh has now started to turn against the one boys name we could agree on, on the grounds there is one with that name who is a bit of a brat at Dcs school. Everyone else with that name who we know is lovely, so l won?t let him change! Sundays in hospital are sooo dull ~ highlight so far pear crumvle and custard for lunch!

TheDetective · 23/09/2012 13:36

Just measured calves. Painful one is swollen, 2cm bigger than the other.

Am off to triage in a min. Update later.

Sure it's just a pulled muscle. Sure.

DP tells me I'm overreacting.

Iheartpasties · 23/09/2012 13:38

Champers! Looks lush!!!

Titsalinabumsquash · 23/09/2012 13:41

Good luck detective Smile swollen painful calf is always worth checking out, especially if it feels warm to the touch.

MissMummy1 · 23/09/2012 13:43

Detective fc all okay. Take care xxx

VQ I love Grayson too. DH vetoed it months ago though (can't remember the reason). It's a classically brilliant name though imo!!

I write lists. For everything. Including dh -it's starting to piss him off a bit I think. I'm currently sitting on my hands stopping myself from taking over and packing for him. He's pacing the house doing nothing productive and it's driving me mad! His train's in an hour and he hasn't packed anything, we still need to go and buy a house warming present for sil and hubby and he's promised to fill my car with petrol for me before he goes. Grr.

On the plus side he transferred money into my account this morning to spend while he's away. Shame I've already spent half of it taxing the car this morning Sad.

MissMummy1 · 23/09/2012 13:44

Champers looks LOVELY!

SwissArmyWife · 23/09/2012 13:47

I keep trying to catch up but fail miserably!

Someone mentioned using Vicks vaporub a few pages back, but I have heard that if you rub it on your chest it decreases/stops milk production? I am not sure how true this is but thought i'd put it out there in case it does.

As for wetting the baby's head, the only person who has mentioned it to me was dp's sister of all people! DP not keen on the idea and neither am I. Maybe a cheeky glass of wine or two over Christmas though :)

Kicks are very painful these days, does this mean more baby than fluid do you think? It doesn't feel as though there is much fluid in there!

ValiumQueen · 23/09/2012 13:47

You are doing the only sensible thing detective so your partner is being a twerp and under reacting.

daisy Cougar Town Grayson is the one thing stopping me Grin as I think he is a twerp too.

I think we will have a little Grayson. The look of pride on DHs face at the thought of it is just lovely. I was worried in case it was a bit poncy or American for a little village in Scotland.

ValiumQueen · 23/09/2012 13:51

swiss vic on boobs would certainly put baby off, and fumes would not do them any good, but pre-birth I would not think it would cause a problem. My kicks can be sore, and I have had my fluid levels checked last week so I would not worry. It will just be that your skin is having to stretch that bit more, and that is sore. Plus they are much stronger now.
