detective if its been there that long you know it needs investigating..........

TheDetective · 22/09/2012 22:26

I know what I'd tell someone else. Butttttttttt a) I really don't want a VQ or CT scan, knowing the risks to baby, and to myself.

I'm being stupid really, but I'm sure it is just a pulled muscle. There is no redness or hotness to touch, no other symptoms. Just constant ache. In one place. Pah.

TheDetective · 22/09/2012 22:27

There was no b)

Sorry Grin

TheDetective · 22/09/2012 22:46

Can I have opinions please!

Was thinking of getting a sheepskin liner for use in the swinging chair/bouncer chair. However, I've seen this anatomical cushion thing. Not sure what to go for now?! Help! I just want something soft and comfy for the baby!

TheDetective · 22/09/2012 22:47

Crap.

Anatomical cushion

kissyfur · 22/09/2012 23:10

Yes sophia this little one keeps pushing down on my bladder too, making me think I might pee myself! Delightful Wink

Detective if your leg is still bad tomorrow I'd get it looked at, hope it gets better. I am hoping to get a sheepskin liner too, the cushion looks good but I like the fluffiness of the sheepskin ones

TheDetective · 22/09/2012 23:14

Which ones have you looked at kissyfur? I was looking on eBay for one, but no idea which one would be best!!

kissyfur · 22/09/2012 23:34

I found one by a company called The Little Green Sheep which was reasonably priced and could be washed, but I've just gone to the page to try and link to it and it's saying page not found! Sad I think lots of companies do them tho, I really want one that can be washed as I know they get mucky

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 22/09/2012 23:45

They would do an ultrasound on lower leg first detective. CXR, VQ and CT only if you develop respiratory symptoms which you haven't mentioned.myou know what to do....CALL THE MIDWIFE!

TheDetective · 22/09/2012 23:51

Here most Dr's just go straight for the VQ... which I'd like to avoid. It's crap isn't it! Doppler would be preferable!

Will give it til morning.

If I wasn't pregnant, I'd just assume pulled muscle, so really feel I'm being stupid!

TheDetective · 22/09/2012 23:52

I'll keep searching, thanks kissyfur :) I want a washable one too!

StuntNun · 22/09/2012 23:56

Baby has been very quiet today. I wish I could stop worrying when he does that.

OP posts:
kissyfur · 23/09/2012 00:01

No worries detective - let me know if u find a good one Smile

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 23/09/2012 00:01

VQ scan is no use if the clot is in your lower leg though! It's only useful if it's travelled to your lung which is obviously worst case scenario. If pain is in leg then surely Doppler is indicated?

You are not stupid....unless you ignore it!

horseylady · 23/09/2012 00:19

Detective they'll just run bloods initially. That's what they did with mine. Then us the leg. They'll defo not ct a pregnant lady the doses are too high for them to say the benefits outweigh the risk. Plus while they can see a clot on a ct, they can see as clearly with us. They did a chest x ray on me and the staff knew me!! Worth getting it checked over tomorrow. Could just be a spasming muscle though :) they hurt!!

StuntNun · 23/09/2012 07:08

So how is everyone doing this morning? I slept okay propped up with four pillows which is great because I was having bad heartburn last night not because I went to McDs obviously. Baby is moving around a bit but only little vague movements whereas two days ago I was pushing bits back in. I'm wondering if he's turned around or something because my back is very sore.

My DS2 is poorly with an awful cough. When he gets them they seem to go on for ages. DS1 on the other hand hardly ever gets sick. I got the Avengers movie from Lovefilm so maybe I'll put that on to keep him quiet and relaxed. Otherwise he'll be out in his bike all day.

It's getting really cold here now, 3 degrees yesterday. Time to get the vests, hats, scarfs and gloves out for the boys.

We skyped with our Co Down family and the sun was streaming in through the windows at tea time yesterday. How is the house sale going stunt? We should be putting our foundations in before Christmas all being well.

Am feeling a bit stiff after my tumble, in the buttock and wrist area. And WHY OH WHY DID DS HAVE TO WAKE UP DEMANDING A STORY IN THE HOUR OF FIVE!?

He has been waking a bit earlier this week so I cut his nap a bit short and kept him up an extra 20 mins, but I have been foiled.

Iheartpasties · 23/09/2012 07:23

I am eating a bit bowl of ice cream, baby wanted it. baby also wants pancakes!! I gorged on pancakes last time with dd, yummo.

ValiumQueen · 23/09/2012 07:35

It was below freezing when we took daddy to work yesterday, but turned out lovely.

I was getting a bit paranoid skimming over recent posts with frequent mention of VQ and not wanting VQ. I understand now. I have had calf pain but directly related to break.

Empathies for whoever fell down stairs. Just because you can walk does not mean you have not broken anything.

DesperateHousewife21 · 23/09/2012 07:36

I have such achy hips! Every night now no matter which side I lay on or if I use my preg pillow they ache so much.

Seeing FIL later and it's meant to rain all day so don't think we'll be doing much else.

georgee · 23/09/2012 07:41

Hi all. Sorry about your tumble Sophia. Hope the bruises aren't too huge! At least it wasn't in public. The other week I tripped over a toy at a toddler group and fell on my wrist and side. Mortifying, everyone flapping about looking worried! Take it easy today.

StuntNun · 23/09/2012 07:45

Pasties if baby wants pancakes, baby gets pancakes!

Sophia no nibbles yet on the house but obviously it's a poor market. The house we're in will be fine until baby needs to go into his own room at about 6 months unless he snores as much as DS1 did! After that we may need to employ some lateral thinking. We currently use the spare room as a study/music room and it is full of books (about 500ish I'd say), guitars, basses, trumpets and a saxophone. If the house doesn't sell we could consider building an extension and moving all that stuff out/storing the books or just get a Kindle godammit. The only problem is DS1 and DS2 share a room and they're not particularly compatible in terms of sleep patterns.

DH21 why are your hips sore, is it PGP or sciatica? Would a warm bath or an ice pack help? Or are you just running after your DS too much?

OP posts:
StuntNun · 23/09/2012 07:48

DS2 is in the bath and I'm sitting on the toilet lid with one foot up on the bath and I think I might be able to reach my toes - rushes off to find nail clipper. I was worried I'd have to leave them for another six weeks.

OP posts:
Iheartpasties · 23/09/2012 08:15

You can reach your toes??! ooow, I need another pedicure my toe nails are too long. And I live in flip flops so I can hide them!!

Titsalinabumsquash · 23/09/2012 08:30

May I just say how much I flipping hate, selfish bastard uni students. Ok I know it's freshers week and all that jazz but we live 10 minutes from the city centre, it's just not on to be screaming and shouting in a residential area at 2am. AngryAngry
