I have my Fit to Fly letter!! Wooooooo!!!

Secondsop · 18/09/2012 17:37

Lovely neat bump spotty, and are you completely devoid of stretchmarks?!

Good work on the fit to fly letter weejo - you're a braver woman than me as I can't imagine wanting to fly at this stage!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/09/2012 17:42

Yay WeeJo!

No I'm not I still have ones from last time but they're still white/silver at the moment. They didn't appear until I was about 34 weeks though!

Secondsop · 18/09/2012 17:45

My sister told me that one of her friends had no stretch marks until she actually commenced labour , at which point they appeared from nowhere.

SpottyTeacakes · 18/09/2012 17:47

Yeah sometimes they don't appear until afterwards!!

Secondsop · 18/09/2012 17:53

Afterwards? :(

On another note, I've developed what I can only describe as an occasional solitary hiccup.

EggsMichelle · 18/09/2012 17:55

Welcome back Strawberry, keep up the positive mind!

I'm quite behind as usual with the forum reading, I've been engrossed in knitting! I have bought a pack of plain muslins off eBay and dylon dye, ready to get creative! I hate that white cloths go grey so bright coloured ones should look nice for longer.

I found this on a random google search make your own mei tai and have big plans to getting the sewing machine out for this project. Also want to make a new cover for the Moses basket, it's very flouncy and frilly at the moment!

Had my GTT this morning, far too much lucozade and needles, even for my high needle tolerance, if I have not heard anything by tomorrow afternoon then I'm all clear, whoopi!

11 weeks to go and must get into action, need to decorate three rooms, knit two jumpers and two blankets, I'm panicking!

EggsMichelle · 18/09/2012 17:56

I don't have stretch marks yet, but my belly is covered on thread veins, gross!

SpottyTeacakes · 18/09/2012 18:01

Oh I get those massive random hiccups too!

PurplePidjin · 18/09/2012 18:07

suite101.com/article/baby-sling-pattern-for-mei-tai-baby-carrier-a160322

I'm halfway through my version of this one for dp. One shoulder clip, denim straps, upholstery weight velvet front, fleece lined. I'll pop a pic up when I'm done if you like?

No stretch marks yet, but yes to the random hiccy burp things - can be quite painful

MyDaydream · 18/09/2012 18:30

I've barely had chance to lurk over the last few days, not even been busy really but everything is taking so long because my back and bump hurt. I've now put my back out opening the dishwasher so I'm sofa bound. I was meant to be staying at my mums tomorrow so I could avoid MIL and go to Ikea on Thursday so hopefully it's a bit better tomorrow.
Bella the 4d photos look amazing. Looking at everyones bump pictures everyone seems bumpier than me, although it's probably just my imagination.
Welcome back Strawberry.
No stretch marks here yet, although talking to my mum she never got any with me so I'm hoping we have amazing genes and I won't get any!

Bellaboo123 · 18/09/2012 18:36

spotty lovely bump!
Lower back is aching today just tried a bath to ease it but hasn't done a thing...any other recommendations welcome.
weejo yay on the fit to fly - I'm off at the end of the month so will ask midwife for one on Friday when I see her.
28 weeks today OMG!!! I remember us all saying we couldn't wait to get to 12 weeks...how time flies!!!

Secondsop · 18/09/2012 18:43

I'm glad the random solitary hiccups appear to be entirely normal!

JoJoB77 · 18/09/2012 18:43

Hi all

Hope everyone is well Smile

I managed to get all the way thru last pregnancy without a single stretchmark, then two appeared after i'd had her Hmm so i'm fully expecting the same to happen again. Just hope its not much more than two Grin

Well DD had a sickness bug which she has passed onto me Sad Had a vile day of it yesterday but think im starting to feel a bit better now. I still cant face any food but need to try & eat something later.

Baby has been moving/kicking as normal so i am hoping he or she hasnt been affected by it all Confused. I spoke to mw this morning & she just advised calling gp as there was nothing they could do. Fair enough but no rrassurance or anything Sad

Tomoro will be a better day, repeat until believe....Grin

HoneyMum21 · 18/09/2012 18:55

MW for me tomorrow for bloods and first measurement. (she wouldn't measure me last time at 24+3 because guidelines say to start measuring at 25...!)

Gonna ask her about movement too- getting strong movements fairly regularly now but still not convinved i'm feeling actual kicks. It more like a wriggling baby than a kicky one.

Still got a stinking cold too and very chesty cough so feeling sorry for myself.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/09/2012 19:31

honey as long as baby is moving I think actual kicks don't really matter. I get less kicks now baby is growing but more movement iykwim. But if you're worried def check with mw.

My next appointment is next Monday at 28 weeks eeek I can't believe we're only 3 months away. Daily it goes so slowly but looking back its gone really quick! Lol

How close to flying do I need to get my fit to fly letter? I'll be 32 weeks when we fly (26th oct) but have no appointments booked after Monday. I assume I can't get 1 at Monday's appointment for then can I?

Have spent today in bed as I felt knackered this morning. So ATM I can manage 2 days of activity in one hit then I need to rest Hmm

I also get the random hiccup, I think it's wind related Hmm

Mummycox · 18/09/2012 19:32

Had our 4d scan, amazing experience. He was kicking away then blew us a kiss, turned over and went to sleep. shall attempt to put photos on profile.

28 week appointment tomorrow, at 29 weeks... :-s

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 18/09/2012 19:35

Can I just direct you all to a thread over here

Very worthy cause for a lovely little girl who was born at 27 weeks. If we can all just donate £1 that'll help them on their way to her operation.

Sorry for hijack!

Cookiesandcream06 · 18/09/2012 20:05

spotty your bump is lovely! How is everyone not covered in stretchmarks, very Envy And also very Hmm at the useless male!

honey good luck at MW tomorrow, got mine too. At my 24 week they said they didn't measure at 24 weeks but I made her! ha. Was measuring 27 I think so it will be interesting to see what she says tomorrow.

good luck eggs though sure it's all good.. I had mine yestrday and haven't heard anything today so think I'm al good. It was horrible, starving hungry to the extent of feeling really queezy- then another lady continuously projectile vomited all over the waiting room- the smell was awful, as much as I felt really sorry for her, the rest of us had to leave the room!

Great British Bake Off now... Mmmmm .. making me want cake EVEN more than usual!!

minipie · 18/09/2012 20:27

Shock at stretchmarks appearing during or even after labour... nooooo!

I don't have any yet . My mum didn't get any despite putting on half her own body weight, and I am a similar size and shape and have similar skin, so hoping I will avoid them.

I had my GTT the week before last (due to PCOS) - all clear hooray! The test is not much fun, I don't have a needle phobia but I found it quite hard to drink all that fizz quickly on an empty stomach. Not surprised someone vomited Cookies. Good luck eggs!

I do have low iron though so am having to guzzle Spatone. but at least I'm allowed something sweet to take the taste away Grin

Clarella you were asking about books on active birth, I have seen this one recommended on another thread. I'm reading Maggie Howell's book on natal hypnotherapy, it's not about active birth exactly but has quite a lot of similar stuff in it I think (basically all about following your instincts)

StrawberrytallCAKE · 18/09/2012 21:10

Had mw appointment and she measured my bump at just below 50th centile which is very confusing with regards to all the extra water and big baby!?!? Hopefully that means come next Monday everything will be back to normal!

I loved my hypnotherapy cd for getting ready for the birth and going to start listening to it again soon, I've completed my labour playlist for ipod too which is looking lovely :) last time I listened to it lots before I went into labour then when I was in labour it was a big comfort because it was familiar. I'm thinking of taking dd's favourite bear in with me but slightly worried they might think I'm a bit crazy clutching a teddy in labour.

Really want to see the pics of your mei-tai when it's done pidj it sounds very fancy. Dh will happily wear pink and lilac (he is 6"4 and built like a rugby player so gets away with it...come to think of it that may be why I'm having a big baby with lots of water) so he is happy with what I pick which is quite a relief as I do have a tendency towards princessy colours!

I'm with you on the day on/day off Stacey today was rather productive but I know tomorrow I'll be knackered.

CODwidow · 18/09/2012 22:08

Evening everyone Smile Glad I'm not the only one having the random hiccup here and there. After being quite still all day bump has decided to wake up just as I've got into bed, she is always quite active in the evenings which is the same as my last ds was. It was great when he was small as the pattern stayed and he'd feed all evening then sleep well through the night so hopefully this means only good things Grin

Mw appt in a week when I'll be 1 day off 29wks very scary that then I'll be heading into the 30 week appts when things really do seem to become real.

I'm making the most of things at the mo as bump is rapidly getting to the stage of limited movement and struggled to put my own socks on today but I know soon I won't actually get them on at all!

PurplePidjin · 18/09/2012 22:16

Strawberry, it's very simple and plain! Going to take it to the next sling meet and see if i can test it with the weighted dolly

30 weeks on Friday Shock

NaomiRuth · 18/09/2012 22:42

Clarella I also have the Janet Balaskas book on active birth, plus one by her on preparing for birth with yoga. It sounds very sensible, all about using the optimum positions during labour for using gravity and for best position of the pelvis. Obviously some people aren't able to move around so it depends on how things are going, but makes a very strong case for it. I've been doing some yoga at home and hoping to adopt this (all being well). But obviously I've no experience!

Feeling slightly guilty though as haven't had nearly enough time to do all these grand plans for yoga etc... and wondering how on earth to find the time... If only I could stop work now!

Has anyone got any good recommendations of maternity pyjamas that will also be good for breastfeeding?

Hope everyone has a good night's sleep.

utopian99 · 19/09/2012 01:12

Am tired from 5 hours of painting but DH is away on business so can't be bothered to go to bed alone. Sad lurking watching late night repeats of grand designs with the kittens instead, and finding the Small One's kicking strangely comforting..

Have donated on your link stacey, do hope they hit their target asap, very easy to worry about similar things, given Crumb is 27+4.

strawberry have bought the Mongan method hypno book/cd, but not started practising yet.. Did it help you last time? We did pain relief methods in our NCT class today, but only epidural/diamorphine/pethidine/entonox and water births - hypnosis is next week... Currently liking the sound of hypno + entonox + acupuncture and try to avoid the others (unless it all gets too hardcore in the heat of things!) They've said i might not be able to have an epi anyway, due to spinal problems..
