Flumpy my DS2 was 11lb

emilyeggs · 28/09/2012 11:47

Welcome issi

Flumpy2012 · 28/09/2012 12:28

Issi - also looking for ways to make the time go faster. Heartburn is awful Sad
I'm just reading, washing baby clothes, watching rubbish tv and sleeping when I can. And also buying lots of unneeded rubbish on amazon through boredom

Wow 11lb?! Was that a natural delivery? Out of interest are they able to tell you how big baby is going to be before hand? Estimated obviously, because of my DD is bigger than 7lb she's staying put!! Xx

Secondsop · 28/09/2012 12:38

Welcome issima. I'm currently off work with severe back and hip pain and am contemplating doing a bit of hand-sewing of Christmas decorations to be a bit less bored - have dug out my Christmas fabric stash. I can't use the machine as I can't sit upright in the chair to use it.

Had my glucose tolerance test today; felt pretty grim during it but am glad it's done now.

SpottyTeacakes · 28/09/2012 12:44

Welcome issima yes do all your Christmas shopping/planning etc Grin

We have a Braun ear thermometer like the drs use.

Good luck with scans and appointments Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 28/09/2012 12:45

Oh flumpy they estimated dd at 7lb with a scan. She was born the next day and was 8lb Grin her head was off the percentile chart Hmm

MyDaydream · 28/09/2012 12:47

I don't know where our crib is going, there's not really room down either side of the bed, it'll probably get tried in a few places before and after babies arrival.
I'll be having the whooping cough vaccine, I just see it as another flu jab. If it helps keep us both safe and healthy well worth it.
I had an awful night too, just couldn't get comfortable. Even tried the sofa for a couple of hours but didn't work. We have friends coming over tonight for us to have a mini celebration because they just got engaged. I'm on a bus to my old house to pick up my baking and cooking things because DP didn't see them as essential when he packed last weekend. How he expected bread and cheesecake to appear without bowls, whisks and tins is beyond me.
pidj hope you get the results you want from the consultant. honey good luck at the scan.

Secondsop · 28/09/2012 13:03

I've got a midwife appointment on Mon; I am about to ring the surgery to ask about getting the whooping cough vaccine. The paper said that they were rolling out the vaccination programme from Monday but that pregnant women over 28 weeks would be vaccinated with existing stocks.

Secondsop · 28/09/2012 13:25

Surgery said they're waiting for instructions about booking in whooping cough appointments; might be a few more days before I get mine then.

Secondsop · 28/09/2012 13:26

mydaydream have you got a pregnancy pillow? Or tried an arrangement of pillows around you? I've been using a combination of the two, and that plus shutting the cat out of the bedroom has really helped (I get too hot at night these days to have the cat pressed at full-stretch against my leg).

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 28/09/2012 13:34

I have just washed the last lot of second hand baby stuff (whoever asked about new stuff I have never washed new baby stuff and my dcs are still alive and kicking) so I'll have fun putting all that away later, really should do some housework too but I cba!! Urgh! Need more energy!

PurplePidjin · 28/09/2012 13:55

Neither the consultant nor the senior mw had had any info through at all, so now i want to know what the government are trying to distract us from They reckon GPs will deal with it along with flu jabs, though.

Plan is for me to go to the MLU at the hospital, as it only requires a paed to do a quick check, then transfer to the nice Forest birth centre for my post natal care. I want staged pain relief anyway (start with water+breathing and work up to drugs/epidural if i feel i need it) so this gives me the best of both. Obviously if anything goes wrong I'm only one floor up from the actual labour ward and HDU, rather than 6 miles away.

My friend's dd was 10lb15 last year, gas and air only Shock i mentioned it once to my mw and she remembers it with a wince :o

I've got my machine running a 90* wash with a couple of stetilising tabs in ready for baby stuff over the weekend - a lot of mine is charity shop/second hand, though

to Issima, I'm also 31w today, hooray!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 28/09/2012 14:02

pidj I did a maintenance wash on my machine a few weeks ago before I started, but it's all just been shoved in the wash with our stuff! Lol

PurplePidjin · 28/09/2012 14:15

Mine had mould in the seals... It won't by tonight :o

annelid · 28/09/2012 15:37

Yes, natural delivery, just gas & air, and that was the same with all my babies. Never been told I'm having a big baby, or measured big.

annelid · 28/09/2012 15:41

Sorry!! meant to put flumpy at the beginning of that post!

LO wouldn't cooperate for the scan Sad but we do get to go back and try again in a couple of weeks. And we did get to see him sucking his thumb which was very cute and made DH well up but will have to try again for the 4d pics

HoneyMum21 · 28/09/2012 16:29

He's also measuring bang on and currently weighs a nice, average 3 pounds 4 oz and is head down :)

Queenofsiburbia · 28/09/2012 16:47

Thanks elliebellie, I will speak to midwife about it but guess not much to be done anyway.

I'm scared to hear about monster sproglets hoping for a 7 pounder but might start the raspberry leaf tea at 37 weeks to encourage LO on before he/she starts to get to giant baby status! (do they have competitions at fetes like for onions and carrots?!)

I've been thinking about how much time left & it's Confused my brain.
Im 30 weeks so it could be 36 weeks (bun is fully cooked) which is less than 2 months away AAARRRGGGHH!

Or... It could be up to 42 weeks max which is 3 whole months away. Seems like forever!

Queenofsiburbia · 28/09/2012 16:50

Only one answer to mouldy washing machine doors; flash kitchen spray with bleach. Then couple of empty washes on 90 degs.

Don't forget to take drawer out & put in dishwasher. It's gory but fascinating, all goopy & grim!

Clarella · 28/09/2012 17:14

Queen that last line sounds like a Dr seuss line ... ;)

With you on the confusion - I either say 5ish weeks, 8ish weeks or 10ish weeks (depending on it being a builder, a pal or me - none of which sound very much! Ahrghhh!) or just vaguely 'november' which leaves them as equally panicked clueless as me.

That sounds soooo cute honey! Good you get to go back :)

....When do we start raspberry leaf tea?

PurplePidjin · 28/09/2012 17:15

I forgot to take out the drawer, it's gone all warpy and a bit brown Blush ah well, whole thing lives in a cupboard so no one sees it! Baby's hospital bits are all in on a 30* quick wash to freshen up, will spin then blow on the line for an hour tonight :o

DD is 8 weeks exactly AAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!
