Welcome MamaPo!

Staey, Queen and anyone elso who's feeling a bit dodgy - hope you are all better soon.

Gils - we had a 4D scan with DS and didn't find the sex, and have just booked to do the same next week for this LO. As long as you tell them at the start that you want a surprise they should stay away from that whole area. Some people thought we were daft paying for it if we weren't finding out, but for us it still felt worthwhile to see the baby in detail and the pictures are lovely keepsakes (had it at 23 weeks with DS and it he still looked v. similar as a newborn). I suppose there's a slight chance he/she might just be lying in a way that makes it completeley obvious straightaway but iirc they did a quick check before showing us anything. Depends how important having a surprise is and perhaps worth checking with them beforhand that they won't spoil it for you.

I'm another who got through last time on TENS/gas and air so would definitely recommend it. I hired it last time - think I got a deal which made it quite a bit cheaper but still wonder if it would have been better to buy one in the long run now I know I'll want to use it again. Oh well.

Just got back from a wedding - it was child free so DS stayed with my parents. Was at a lovely venue so a nice chance for a night away as a couple -think it will be the last for a while! Got loads of "December? really?" and "are you sure it's not twins?" type comments. Think I am starting to look ever-so slightly blimp like, but must admit by about the 5th twin comment I did mutter something to the effect of "well four scans say not!"

SpottyTeacakes · 15/09/2012 16:53

ISpy I think people actually forget how people people are supposed to be when they're pregnant and that it just tends to get more ........ compact (?!) as it goes along!

Bellaboo123 · 15/09/2012 17:08

waves to all

back from 4 d scan, i think i've uploaded the pics take a look and see what you think! It was a lovely experience and they won't tell you the sex if you don't want to know. My little lady kept putting her hand in front of her face but got some lovely shots and a DVD. The whole experience was fab and i'd recommend it as a bit of a treat.
Posted a pic of my bump to - just wonder how it compares, i'm 27+4 today.
I'm with you on the bending down - i just funny pains or just struggle to bend at all LOL!
I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.

SpottyTeacakes · 15/09/2012 17:18

Wowee Bella!! She is smiling in the bottom one! What a lovely bump, you look very tanned Wink

Bellaboo123 · 15/09/2012 17:23

Thank you...how cute (proud mum lol)

It's only a bit of fake tan to make me feel a bit more glam!

HoneyMum21 · 15/09/2012 17:28

awwww Bella they are so cute. She looks like a real baby! Just shown DH the pics and he's ready to book us in now!

Bellaboo123 · 15/09/2012 18:04

Thank you honey my DP was dubious but he got right into it and even had a tear in his eye! Wink

NaomiRuth · 15/09/2012 18:07

Bella they're amazing, I didn't realise how developed it would look! So gorgeous!

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 15/09/2012 20:18

Aw Bella how cute! Am Envy at your nice small bump though, I am the size of a hippo!! About double your size and I'm 27 weeks tomo!

Well today I spent the afternoon doing slightly too much walking at Hampton court Blush getting back to the car was painful! But after a sit down and a bath I'm feeling ok again and haven't had anymore bleeding so I'm happy!

Secondsop · 15/09/2012 21:26

Love the photos bella!

I too am about twice the size of you, bump-wise, at 27 weeks. I am on the larger side to begin with and thought the bump wouldn't be so massive in comparison, but I really am carrying it all in the front.

EggsMichelle · 15/09/2012 21:54

Bella it's amazing how well developed they are at that stage, I still imagine mine to look like a lump of dough with legs! Even DH was impressed. Sadly I had a strop in telco over the price of sliced ham, I don't think I will be able to suggest spending that much on a scan!

My bump is also quite a bit bigger at 28+3, but think that's mostly made of food!

Mummycox · 16/09/2012 00:53

Greetings all. Have managed to catch up, I think, with all your news and my was there a lot of it.

To those who have had bad times, the good are around the corner.
To those that have had good times, long may they last.

Have ordered our pram and have got DH to agree to the nursery furniture, we have a plan for what to buy when and have started to list out what to get at Christmas so no longer feeling left behind on the organisation front. Have also got 4d scan on Tuesday, 29 weeks. Probably our only chance so we are doing it all.

Have started to see feet/arms/sticky out bits over the last couple of weeks. Very cool.

Do like these threads... Makes me feel I'm not alone in this.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/09/2012 06:52

My bump appears bigger at 25+3 but I think that's because it's my second and also I'm pretty short so it's more round 'basket ball' under the top sort of thing!

I woke up early this morning with a sore throat/headache/slightly blocked nose. I'm pretty sure it's just the change in season will be worse when we put the heating on! Love winter though!

emilyeggs · 16/09/2012 07:11

bella the pics are amazing! makes you realize its a proper little person inside :)
my bump is about the same as you so makes me feel better after everyone saying how small i am. Still I cant imagine getting much bigger, i'm already quite uncomfortable, especially after eating., its soup all the way now :(

emilyeggs · 16/09/2012 07:20

ispy I'm also sick of people passing judgment on bump size! I think spotty is right in saying people just forget. Wish I had a good come back though, instead of just standing there having to justify my size.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/09/2012 07:37

I find 'oh it's just because I haven't had a poo in a week' soon shuts them up Wink

knottyhair · 16/09/2012 07:39

Bella, those pictures are amazing! Your bump looks great too! I've had lots of comments from "you look really neat" to "December! You're quite big though" from the cashier in Waitrose. I know I'm measuring correctly for dates so I just smile and move on Smile.

Walked to my mum's yesterday to see my little 15 wk old great niece (gorgeous!) but a 20 min walk took me 40 mins Blush and had to keep asking DS to slow down. Also had a bit of pain down one side of the bump when I got there but felt better after a cup of tea, a corned beef baguette & a cuddle with the baby. Got a lift home from my big sister as well.

Hope those of you feeling under the weather start to feel better soon.

knottyhair · 16/09/2012 07:40

Grin Spotty!

Bellaboo123 · 16/09/2012 07:40

Morning all thank ?ou for all the lovely comments. I think thats right people do forgot, yesterday a women's eyes nearly popped out her head at the size of my bump I was close to telling her to F off. Everyone seems to think you're public property! I think the size depends on time of day and what I'm wearing too.

Bellaboo123 · 16/09/2012 07:42

I say that too that I'm measuring spot on and it usually shuts them up grrrrr annoying people! Angry

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 16/09/2012 08:14

I think I must head people off at the pass as when they ask how I am I say huge! Lol then they say how neat my bump is instead lol. I do feel huge though. But I'm a firm believer that your body will do what it needs. I haven't put in anywhere near as much weight as I did with the other 2 so I really don't care! I know I'm never going to be a 'football up the top' kinda gal as its just not what my body does, but I'm as close to it as I can be right now (havent put on too much weight anywhere else) so I couldn't care less of people's shocked looks when I say I'm due in dec!

Well after all that walking yest I had the best nights sleep in the world! It was amazing! I still woke for a wee 3/4 times but had no problems getting back to sleep. And I went to bed at 9 and woke at 7.30 bliss I tell you!

Think I should start organising the nursery today. What with all the drama I now want everything ready just in case LO makes an appearance. I know that baby wouldn't be here/able to use the stuff if he/she turned up soon but I'd be happier in the knowledge that it was all done and ready.

I have just realised I left my washing on the line all night! Bloody baby brain! Oh well it will be 'well aired' won't it?! Lol.

I hope everyone has a good day. Thanks for the well wishes its nice to know people are rooting for us!

PurplePidjin · 16/09/2012 08:21

I keep getting told how small my bump is. I've put on 22lb!! Shock

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 16/09/2012 08:25

As pidj! I actually have no idea how much I've put on as I don't own scales but I know I have had to buy bigger and bigger maternity clothes this time in firmly staying in 12/14 and most of the weight is def bump!

PurplePidjin · 16/09/2012 08:40

I'm in size 12 mat clothes with plenty of room left, my arms are a bit flabby and my face has gone round but i haven't changed shape elsewhere, but 22lb is loads, surely? Confused

EggsMichelle · 16/09/2012 08:42

Woken up to a very odd smell of burnt food outside (if you have ever burnt a chicken and bacon pasta bake it's that smell) its very confusing and quite unpleasant, do doubt my laundry will smell of that rather than Stacey's fresh air!

I've got the football up the top look going on, and since I was not a very big person, I get a lot of comments (plus I have put on close to 2st all on belly and boobs!)

Got the urge to start decorating today, I can do the bathroom without moving furniture?
