utopian sorry havent a clue on how much to hire TENS but the 2nd hand one i boit was a tenner Grin

I went swimming today too stacey. i was amazed at how 'unpregnant' i felt whilst in the pool but even more amazed at how heavy my bump was getting out! I must have looked a right 'un lugging myself out of the water, so not ladylike Grin

JoJoB77 · 14/09/2012 19:22

Sorry meant kate not stacey Blush

SpottyTeacakes · 14/09/2012 19:24

Just had a really bad stomach with full on stomach cramps Sad Eugh fed up today.

I might try a tens this time I think my friend has one I can borrow

WeeJo08 · 14/09/2012 19:28

Think I will try using a TENS machine too - luckily a friend of ours just had her wee baby a month ago and she bought hers (she said there wasn't much difference between hiring one and buying one) and she has offered it to me for labour, so I'm chuffed about that. She's also offered birthing ball, Moses basket and other bits too Grin All gratefully received! She found the TENS machine really took the edge off the pain....sounds good to me!

utopian99 · 14/09/2012 20:01

jojo didn't realise you could buy them so cheap! Are any brands better than others? sounds like a winner..

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 14/09/2012 20:01

Welcome mamapo!

Sobbing sofa for me, well after an afternoon pain free I picked dcs up hoping to get back to normal and had horrible pain down the right hand side of the bump (was only out of bed 20 mins) so had to get straight back to bed.

DH has been home since half 4 and has said about 3 sentences to me and tgrown a strop because I've asked him to sort out dinner as I obv need to be in bed if it's best for baby. He's busy fiddling round on his laptop downstairs and wonders why I'm upset when I've been stuck in bed for 3 days!!!! Angry Sad

FriendofDorothy · 14/09/2012 20:08

Heheh my local hospital is on the TV. A new series called "Island Hospital".

Basically we are people spotting!

Secondsop · 14/09/2012 20:42

mydaydream DH wants his parents in the country (not in the room. I would ABSOLUTELY do my nut if that were even suggested!). I think he'd like them at the hospital on the basis that they live so far away they're not going to share in as much of the baby growing up. But I think my feelings have to come first at such an important time. I'd like the birth and immediate aftermath to be just me and him and the baby, for us to bond as a new family unit. I don't mind people visiting for a bit after we've had a chance to settle at home but a day visit is a different proposition to a longer-term set of houseguests. My suggestion is that they come over in early Jan, when we've had a couple of weeks of sussing out the baby, and when I will feel slightly less like I've been run over.

There is also a part of me that is a bit proud and doesn't want too many people to see me in the early days while I flounder around beginning to get to grips with motherhood and telling me what I should be doing and how I should be feeling.

JoJoB77 · 14/09/2012 20:51

Sorry to hear you're still not feeling too good. Rest is absolutely the only thing you should be doing right now. Shame your DH is in too much of a strop to see that Sad hope you feel much better tomoro. Smile

utopian i think i might have dropped lucky on the TENS i won on eBay Smile

JoJoB77 · 14/09/2012 20:52

My first paragraph was to stacey . i really am crap tonight!

HoneyMum21 · 14/09/2012 20:55

She's just arrived 4 HOURS LATER THAN SHE SAID. I'm somewhat livid already...

gilsbubbles · 15/09/2012 04:51

Been wide awake for an hour, very wriggly little one i making it impossible to get back to sleep. Hope this isnt the start of things to come.

Bellaboo123 · 15/09/2012 05:18

Ive been woken by kicks too...feel excited though as 4d scan today

Clarella · 15/09/2012 05:42

Channeling your frustration honey, sit tight and rant on here!

Ooh Bella exciting!

Someone asked about patterns of movement - I can now confirm I have a regular as clockwork 5 am party in my womb which then instantly leads to as much as 20 mins of hiccups (him not me). This has been every day for the last 10 days, though I only worked out it was hiccups a couple of days ago. Pretty much wakes me up (if not already awake) every time!

Still feeling guilty about my dinner last night; I inhaled 3 jam donuts barely being aware of what I was doing. Huge effort to stop there, had to double check there had actually been 5 as I only recall scoffing 2. DH was out, I seem to eat healthily when he's about but turn into a monumental pig when he's not! All his fault. There were two left...

gilsbubbles · 15/09/2012 05:58

bella I'm very jealous about your scan, id love one, but since we decided not to find out the sex it's not really practical. Just seems like such a long wait from the 20 week scan to december to see them again :-(
My excitement for the day will be ordering the pram and car seat. This will be my first purchase for the baby and our feels like opening the floodgates

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 15/09/2012 06:59

Oh Bella can you put a pic up later? The next hospital along from me has a 4d scanner and if you're lucky get it as standard, think they try and do it for first time parents.

I'm feeling better this morning after being pretty ill last night.

Sorry to hear about the ghastly in laws, I'd have just gone to bed by nine o'clock Wink

acjfluff · 15/09/2012 08:02

Wow 10 pages of new thread since I was

last here!!

Apologies for not reading them through. I hope you're all well.

Clarella how do baby hiccups feel? Is it obvious?

Stacey sorry you're stuck in bed but hope that you're able to be up and about soon (disclaimer- I don't know what's gone on but it sounds rubbish and that you're doing the best for your baby so your DH will have to deal with it)

Tens machine talk is very interesting, does it really help? I'm starting to think about the birth a bit now and don't really want loads of drugs for pain relief if I can help it.

So, this time next Saturday I'll be getting ready for my wedding! I wonder what else can go wrong in 7 days... We've had DJ cancellations (2), bridesmaid dress un-fitting and now my mil to be won't come Hmm

All is great with the baby though and I'm determined not to get stressed so he doesn't come out a neurotic, nervous wreck Grin

Take care til the next flying visit!

MyDaydream · 15/09/2012 09:03

bella have fun today, I'm a bit jealous of the 4d scan we decided against it because we couldn't quite afford it.
acj hope nothing else goes wrong for you and you have a lovely day next weekend.
We're leaving to get our keys in a hour! Had an awful nights sleep and couldn't get bump comfy, then when I did woke up choking for some reason. My chest/throat still hurts this morning.
DP sprung it on me last night that actually SIL is coming over today at the same time as my parents, which I'm not happy about because she'll either sit with a face on all afternoon about not being centre of attention or she'll cause a scene. Luckily I didn't go buy everything for dinner yesterday or he'd have been going hungry to accommodate the extra mouth.

EggsMichelle · 15/09/2012 09:47

Had a hectic couple of days, senior manager back at work and piled loads of work on me (better than being bored and enjoy the work, just a shock to my system) and DH laid up resting his knee (would rather he rest it and back in full working order from Tuesday) but my goodness I'm exhausted! Had planned to to have a long sleep in this morning, sadly someone was playing music in their car at 6.30 and I have been awake since. Think its about time I get dressed and crack on with some of this house work before I need another nap!

Had a bit of a window shop for coats, appart from that top shop one I cant find one I like, but can't pay that much (I have far too many coat and DH will not be impressed!) trying to persuad my sister to go halves on one, she will be 20wks when I'm due so she can use it after!

Sorry to hear all the MIL issues, wish you all had one as good as mine, slightly neurotic as she is scared of upsetting me, but that's nothing! I've even booked her in as baby sitter for an evening in February.

Secondsop · 15/09/2012 10:54

clarella it was me that asked about movements. I've realised that now the baby is bigger he does seem to move more when he's hungry and then settle down a bit after I eat. What do hiccups feel like?

honey oh dear, I hope the rest of the visit isn't too painful.

As I am virtually bedridden with this back thing my mum is coming tonight to look after me as my husband is going away for work. I haven't watered the garden for ages - she's not going to be happy about that.

gilsbubbles · 15/09/2012 11:43

well thats the pram ordered, and my local shop was also doing an offer so I've ordered a pebble and a pearl and saved £100. Figure it can go in the loft till little one grows into it.

EggsMichelle · 15/09/2012 14:03

It's quiet today, everyone must be out enjoying the last bits of sunshine! I've taken on the challenge of the house (it's very grubby) and have disinfected all the kitchen surfaces (doors and all) and will be taking on the bathroom when I get off my arse! Keep looking at the spare room and the chaos within, then closing the door again!

Gils what are pebbles and pearls?
Seconds my parents are due back from holiday today, and hoping my mum will come look after me for a couple of days too, not that I need looking after!!!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/09/2012 14:17

I'm not enjoying the sun I'm off to the sobbing/angry sofa today SadAngry

NaomiRuth · 15/09/2012 14:47

acj Hope the wedding preparations are ok and you have a fantastic day next weekend. What an exciting time for you!

Handed back the keys to our rented house this morning, did a full clean and am now exhausted and can't move. Bending down to clean skirting boards gave me sharp pains, so I had to stop. Very frustrating.

Just been to the village fete and bought loads of homemade jam. Yum!

SpottyTeacakes · 15/09/2012 16:42

We've got sausage casserole for dinner - yum!

DP has annoyed me today, he usually works Saturdays but said on Wednesday he wasn't working. Yesterday he said he had to do a couple of hours this morning, he left at 7:20. 10 ish he phones to say it's going to take a bit longer but he will be back before 12. 12:20 he phones to say he has about an hours work left but can come home now and do it tomorrow. I tell him to stay because I dd was about to have a nap anyway and she will want to see him tomorrow. 1:20 he comes home. What time are you going to football? I ask, I need to leave at 2 he says Shock say I, but kick off isn't until 4:30, apparently they have to be there super early Hmm so I get grumpy because his game is the other side of Goodwood and by the time he finishes he will get stuck in all the Revival traffic and be lucky if he gets back to see dd before she's in bed. When dd wakes from her nap she asks where daddy is, she wants a cuddle with daddy etc etc and then starts crying because he's not here ARGH!!!! Excuse lack of punctuation etc I hate stupid football.
