Look forward to hearing for you soon Smile

Hi everyone.just trying to play catch up on the fashion/wind/pushchairs!

went to wedding on Sat. Managed to find a dress that minimised the wobble-bulge(not a bump yet i've decided), but had really bad wind(which just caused tummy pains thankfully on one level) but I almost vomited on the bride at end of receiving line, couldn't eat a thing and was sooooo obviously not drinking. so as uni friends had more to drink they all asked me if i was pg.
So it's out! I'm on hols this week and relaxing so i don't think i'll be able to hold tummy in by the time i go back to work. i'm 11 weeks now so i guess i was going to start telling soon anyway. Going to dust off my mat wear tommorrow and then plan my next shopping trip. Grin

Devongirl · 08/06/2006 12:21

Hey everyone

my morning sickness seems to have gone (maybe too soon to say totally I suppose) but now I am left with ravenous hunger all day! Is this normal? I am going to be the size of a house if I carry on like this

Anyone else feeling the same?

x

yomellamoHelly · 08/06/2006 15:25

Hi Devongirl!
Have been eating 5 times a day for 5-6 weeks now plus snacks. Found little and often good for keeping the nausea at bay. Rather than being the size of a house though, I worry I'll just be completely broke if this continues beacuase of the number of sandwiches, paninis, buns and burgers, even pizza once, that have made up those extra meals (when I get into my head that I have to eat, I have to eat - and snacks won't do!)
Scan today, so everything finally starting to feel real. Time to spend the evening on the phone to all our family.....

jabberwocky · 08/06/2006 15:49

Hi all, I know I haven't posted much, just didn't have much to say, except to whine about the nausea! But, it does seem to have abated just a bit. I haven't hit the ravenous stage yet, although I remember it well from last time...gained 40 pounds with ds Blush I'm hoping to stay closer to 25 this time around.

lennied · 08/06/2006 16:50

Hi all,

I have a confession to make. I ate a snickers bar, and husband has asthma/hayfever/ezcema - the works. Surely I am not condemning my little one to a lifetime of peanut allergy? I just had to have one, it was as if my life depended on it. Probably a handful of peanuts in them. Feel slightly guilty now, but it tasted damn good!!!

Other than that life is good, after another week of nausea I seem to be having another lull - although not getting my hopes up this time that ms is gone for good. Had some cot bumpers arrive in the post from my Gran, which was anice surprise, especially since I didn't think she knew! I guess the news is out.

Hugs to all xxx

yomellamoHelly · 08/06/2006 17:15

Pressies for db2b already. How lovely! ... and exciting This really might just gonna happen to you and us all, eh?

accessorizequeen · 08/06/2006 20:38

ooh, how's one snickers bar going to hurt? No real proof that keeping away from peanuts sorts it anyway! my appetite hasn't kicked in yet but it certainly did last time and so did everyone else's I know! all have a good week, I'm off to pack the potty in the car!

magnolia1 · 08/06/2006 21:17

I have eaten peanuts, just can't help it. And I can't eat eggs overcooked Blush

Feeling much better these past few days. 12 weeks tomorrow and scan next Wednesday.

I hired a doppler and heard bubs heartbeat for 1st time today. It was great Grin

Hope you are all coping with the hot weather?? I love it Smile

contentmum · 08/06/2006 21:27

Talk about eating constantly - it was the only thing that kept the nausea at bay and now thats gone I'm hungry 24 hours a day, finding myself eating jam sandwiches at 3am! Pleased to know its not just me.
Cant believe theres a bump already - also went on the scales to check it wasn't all those extra snacks but hardly put any weight on. Just tried blooming marvellous for clothes - nothing spectacular but ok for basic trousers, especially if you are short like me!

dublindee · 09/06/2006 07:39

Hi everyone!
I've only just properly read through the whole thread (DP woke me getting ready for work at 5.45 -grrr) and I have been very remiss in giving the family stats.

So here goes:

ME: 28 (29 in July)
DP: 31 (32 in October)
DS: 15.5mths old and growing up so fast!

I'm now just over 13 weeks pg and have no preferences for a boy or girl but am DYING to find out which it'll be!
We've told my future in-laws and will be telling my family this weekend.

It's my mum's 70th birthday so we're putting a picture of the scan in her birthday card :o

My manager in work has known for WEEKS about the pregnanacy as this time around has been sooooo different for me.

When I was expecting Matthew I had no heartburn, nausea, morning sickness or fatigue.

So this time round has been horrid by comparison - but so worth it after seeing the scan.
I'm keeping my eyes on the prize and trying to ignore the vomitous thoughts!

I have to say I'm starting to feel less sickly now though so hopefully I'll be fine.

Had to laugh at everyone saying they're starving.
I'm VERY BIG to begin with so when I'm pg I'm really conscious of the fact that's not good for baby.
I guilt myself into eating really healthily during the pregnancy and actually ended up lighter once Matthew was born than before I was pg!!
I think the fact that my cravings were glace cherries and mandarins helped tho!

If you can't fill your face when you're pg - when can you tho?!

Oops sorry for the long post - got carried away!

lennied · 09/06/2006 17:18

Hi everyone,

Another piggie here - can't help myself! Loved marmite on toast before I was pg, but now have to have 4 slices in the morning for breakfast Grin and 2 after my tea. Have convinced dh it is for the folic acid. Am also craving anything to do with fruit - fruit itself, fruit juice, fruit lollies, fruit pastilles, in fact now I have written that I want more fruit. And I am drinking gallons of water/juice/pop. Also, and this is a weird one, am constantly obsessed with cold water. Whenever I go to the loo, have to practically drown myself while washing my hands!! All day am fantasising about cold baths/swimming pools! Absolutely crazy stuff.

spinamum · 10/06/2006 16:33

not got to ravenous stage yet, but don't think i fully stopped snacking since last pg Blush three years ago!

My bump is huge if i don't stand up straight. Will have to practise posture before going back to work next week. can't be Bean though just lard. Have eaten terribly all trimester and have only just started to eat good pg food. Was a nutrional obsessive with ds. i hope fish, chips and pizza provide some good stuff if washed down with omega caps and pregacare!!

in the middle of putting away my "will not fit into that again til xmas 2007" clothes.(even though i haven' fitted into some of it since Oct 1995!) my maternity clobber has been dusted off.
, washed and is hanging on the line.

Ds's got chicken pox. Hooray. Better now than December, but i've just realised i'll be going through this again in a few years time. Maybe i should have kept DS away from other humans til Beanie was old enough to catch the pox and i'd just have one week of calamine lotion, piriton and sodium bicarb! we're also doing a crash course toilet training thing, so i'm up to my elbows in soggy Bob the Builder pants.

Who said motherhood wasn't glam? sooooo soorrrrrry about long post. DH is away watching football til Tuesday so i need to offload my woes!!!

lennied · 11/06/2006 09:18

Well everyone, since I am practically last one due and I reach 12 weeks on Tuesday, it looks like we have all successfully negotiated the first trimester. Am looking forward to the energy surge I've heard so much about Wink and to getting some healthy stuff down after 2 months of constant snacking to keep away ms and horrible metallic taste. Last night, had to have peas and tomato ketchup at 9pm - I think thankfully my cravings are going to be for fruit and veg, so hopefully won't continue gaining soooo much weight. Have already put on 7 lbs.

Good luck with the toilet training spinamum, sounds like fun!! All these things I've got to look forward to, and I don't think I realise the half of what I've got myself into yet.

Have booked NCT antenatal classes this weekend since NHS ones round here are reportedly rubbish and although I think you lot will probably teach me more about birth and babies than them, it will be nice to meet some locals in the same boat.

Hope you are all enjoying your weekends and holidays. Smile

jaspersslave · 11/06/2006 11:59

hi everyone
found out i was pregant about a month ago but due date was unsure but now i no so thought id join this thread
im 13 weeks pregnant and baby is due on the 13th of december.
i also have a 20 month old ds

hope to chat soon xx

spinamum · 12/06/2006 15:34

Welcome jaspersslave. (no prizes for guessing your little boys name then Wink)

Lennied, don't worry about being last. I'm only 12 weeks today. Still no scan, midwife(that's tommorrow) so we're still to find out if i've just got bad wind (and my periods are missing in action!) I'm might do NCT too this time to meet people.i don't need the midwife to tell me what 10cm looks like(again) i have decided my attitude to childbirth (how ahead of myself?) is not to think about the event too much and pretend second time won't take half an hour and happen in our car on the way to hospital. (too many friends with too many stories!!)

hope i get to hear a heartbeat tmw.i need to start telling people!!!!Especially my son.( no soggy pants today (yet) for those following my soap (literally) opera)

i think i may have had a small burst of energy this weekend. I've put fresh flowers all over the house, tried to keep on top of house work, only one takeaway all weekend and despite being up at 5 every morning with a hot and spotty 2.75er, i don't want to kill my DH for going away and enjoying himself.

goodness knows, next i'll start to become interested in sex again!

take care all.

Devongirl · 13/06/2006 09:13

Hi
Spinamum, it is good to hear I am not the only one off sex! I hear some women are rampant, and obviously DH was hoping I'd be one of those women, but I just don't feel like it. Grrrr. I am a bit scared of it in all honesty, I know all the books say it's fine, but I can't help worrying. How is everyone else feeling about it?

x

lennied · 13/06/2006 17:30

Very little here either girls!! DH is more scared than me tho, he says he finds it creepy that he is being watched!!! TBH I have had really sore boobs as well so definately haven't wanted him anywhere near them and am also a bit self-conscious of my ever-expanding waistline so not really in the mood. I think it will only put DH off more tho once the baby starts to move around.

Hope you are all well, Smile

spinamum · 13/06/2006 20:22

i did get slightly rampant late on in last pg(TMI!Wink), but i've been too shattered to do anything other than sleep. Also too 'scared' i'll trigger off something. Read somewhere if you have a history of miscarrage(which i don't thankfully) not to make love around the time your period would be due in first trimester. That scared me a bit. I've only being pg twice so not taking any chances.

had booking visit today. bit of a let down. m/w didn't bring a heartbeat thingie, so 'll have to wait till monday for my scan to check Beanie out.

M/w is adament that i should deliver in local hospital, but is lovely by all accounts, but doesn't do epidurals(my fav thing in whole world) I know 2nd ones are supposed to pop out quicker, but my last labour went on for 36hours, so 'quicker' still might not be quick enough for my liking. I am a big fan of active birth(did yoga for first 10hours of last labour-lentil weaver that i am!) and would love to do it without drugs, but i do like knowing they're there in case i change my mind.

whoops ahead of myself again.

magnolia1 · 13/06/2006 21:01

Not a lot of bed bumping here ither lol, Got my Nuchal scan tomorrow so will feel better when it's done. Feel so uncomfortable and only 12+4 goodness knows how I'll feel in a couple of months!!

Hope all you ladies are well xxx

Slink · 14/06/2006 19:02

I am craving sex but dh is not he thinks he is being watched that and that he may (ha ha ha ha) harm the baby.

I have had two scans 10weeks and 13weeks baby is fine healthy happy and a mover so i could see from the scan. My dd5 knows about the baby and is going to drop out of school and help my arhhhhh!!!!! but very excited, she wants a boy coz she hopes it won't tae her princess dress (so do we)
weather a bit cooler so feeling better and sleeping better.

Love to allxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Calmriver · 14/06/2006 19:39

Calmriver · 14/06/2006 19:43

Japerslave'''

magnolia1 · 14/06/2006 20:45

Had scan today and what a bouncy bean I have Grin Got some great pics and everything looking well Smile

Hope you are all well xxx

dublindee · 15/06/2006 08:51

Hi everyone, I'm back again!

During first pregnancy there were peaks and troughs (sp?) in how much bedroom action went on - purely to do with energy levels!

This time round when not feeling sickly we're at it fairly frequently. Think it's much freer as you know you don't have to worry about getting pg so you can just go for it!! ;o

Devongirl · 15/06/2006 09:24

Thanks girls, you have given me more confidence! I knew it was silly to worry when all the books say it's fine, but...

Anyway, going to get over it and have some fun!Grin

xxx
