Look forward to hearing for you soon Smile

Thanks for that spinamum. I know exactly what you mean about the last couple of weeks. I also wish I hadn't known in some ways as it has felt like an eternity and still keep on expecting blood when I go to the toilet. I think it is a natural thing to be concerned at this stage though and to try and be cautious about being too optimistic, but after TTC for a while you also half feel like you should be singing from the hilltops. It makes you realise though how precious and precarious this baby making business is. Also having had a very early m/c a couple of months ago it makes you feel like another one is almost inevitable, although the logical bit of my brain keeps telling me that's really not the case.
I haven't been feeling too bad at all the last few days, still got sore boobs and am tired and weeing all the time - but it ain't that bad. No proper MS yet, just faint nausea esp with strong smells and still bloated but the peppermint tea seems to be doing the trick. Have put on a tinsy bit of weight though, and not through overeating - think it is mainly due to rapidly expanding boobs! Not entirely comfortable with my new elephantine proportions - had reasonably large bust to begin with - now feel like Jade Goody!
Hope you are still doing ok Minnie.

Slink · 30/04/2006 20:10

Oinker,

I had been following your progress on the miscarriage thread and have really felt for you throughout all of this. I hope that the remaining twin has good news for you - good luck for your scan.

MummyTo1PlusBump · 01/05/2006 20:21

Hi all

Congrats on all your great news.

Can i join you i have a due date of anything between Dec 21st and 26th as i never kept my dates lol.

Well this ones a shock for me as my DS is 13 months and was concieved via IVF so i really never expected this shock, although now ive got used to the idea i cant wait.

Its so different doing this naturally without clinics, injections etc, feels like the first time all over again.

jabberwocky · 01/05/2006 20:23

Welcome and congrats!

Debbsy · 02/05/2006 07:30

welcome and congrats muumyto1 :)

lucy5 · 02/05/2006 08:50

Just want to say hello to everyone. Im not online much at the moment as I feel awful. I have high blood pressure and am taking tablets. Good luck all!

jabberwocky · 02/05/2006 20:14

So sorry, lucy5. Was it brought on by your pregnancy? I had HBP with ds but only in the last trimester.

Had my first ultrasound today and got a picture of the bean. Of course it just looks like a smudge but I loved seeing it anyway :) Heartbeat was good and all is well.

lucy5 · 02/05/2006 21:49

Yes pregnancy has caused it. I had it with dd but like you only in the last trimester. So I am mightly peed off that I have it now, as I feel so awful. I have had a scan and seen the heartbeat of my smudge too.

jabberwocky · 02/05/2006 22:40

That is too bad. They didn't check mine this time. I guess they will next week when I go in for the actual check-up. This was scan only.

Debbsy · 03/05/2006 09:17

ahh lucy hope you feel better soon jabber bet you were so excited when you saw your bean.Well ive been up since 1am thsi morning with sickness, round the clock now cant fight it off anymore feel exhausted so im going to the drs at 11am for something as ive had to take the day off work today. On a plus though the nurse i spoke to reassured me that there is nothing wrong with the baby the exact opposite in fact that it was quite happily bouncing away thats why pg hormone is so strong, and i feel so rough!!

Devongirl · 03/05/2006 11:42

Hello everyone,

I have been nervous to join in the discussion as am still worried that either a) I am imagining things and will find out am not pregnant after all even though I've got every symptom going and done two tests or b) something will go wrong. But if you can all do it then so can I! My due date is 17th December. I won't have a scan for a few weeks yet.

Anyway, has anyone been stung by a bee when they've been pregnant before? Sounds like a weird opening question I know, but I just discovered a bee in my shoe and it's kind of stung me (although not completely - it didn't leave the sack bit in and it didn't die). I feel ok, but a bit neurotic! Any thoughts?
x

Debbsy · 03/05/2006 12:02

hi Devongirl and welcome im sure you will be fine i know what you mean about trepidation though.Regarding the bee sting i dont know to be honest but i would phone nhs direct to be on the safe side.Or you could create a new conversation in pg and ask for advice on that. hth :)

lennied · 03/05/2006 12:39

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all ok and great to have so many people on here now - it is so comforting to have other people in the same boat to talk to - especially whilst trying to keep the pg a secret. How many weeks is everyone now? I am losing track of due dates and everything.
I have a question for the experienced Mums though - I have a holiday booked (booked a whole year ago!) in the summer - if everything goes to plan I will be about 20 weeks by then. The place we are going to insists on smart clothing in the restaurants - am I going to be well and truly out of my pre-pregnancy clothes by then? And if so, will I be able to get away with borrowing some of my sisters smart tops - who is a size bigger than me - and combining them with skirts/trousers? Or am I going to be pleading with the hotel to let me eat in my tracky bottoms? Also - I don't know if anyone has looked round the shops lately - seems pointless clothes shopping to me, since I won't fit in any of my clothes if everything works out - but all the tops are fashionably long at the moment, which totally doesn't flatter my figure but might be handy for bump coverage. I am in need of a few summery bits for work and am wondering if the jersey material in cheap tops stretches?

MummyTo1PlusBump · 03/05/2006 13:18

hi Lennied

Well when i was last pregnant i just bought a size up in all my clothes and most of them lasted me until i was about 6-7 months so you should be ok in your sisters things, although to be honest ive only just got out of the size after speding 6 months at ww and now im going to be putting it all on again lol :)

DiamondsAreForever · 03/05/2006 14:50

Hi everyone. I am also due in December, I am only just getting over the shock of being pg again as I am just getting over the last one! I have a dd who is 9 months. Congratulations to all and hope to catch up with you again.

cupcakes · 03/05/2006 15:16

welcome diamonds.

I'm feeling anxious today as I've had some very light discharge which was slightly brown. I've also still got my niggley back pains. Woke up this morning feeling paranoid as I had a very realistic dream in which I was miscarrying again. Should really put my feet up and try to relax but I've been running around ferrying ds and dd to school and playgroup. Have got to go out again shortly to pick up ds but may take the car (otherwise it'll take almost an hour there and back).
Don't think there's any point in phoning midwife - I suspect I'm only 6 weeks so there's not much they'd be able to see on a scan anyway. And I'd rather not have the stress of finding someone to look after ds and dd whilst we go.

spinamum · 03/05/2006 15:20

hi and welcome to everyone who's recently joined.

lennied, i found DPs(dorothy perkins, not a MN term!) quite good for pg clothes last time. Beware of mailorder. the sizes can be erratic. I had four weddings to "do" last pregnancy and i managed on the smart clothes front.
Buy one nice pair of trousers and a few flattering tops. There was a point late summer( ds was september baby) when i looked like a catalogue pg lady(hand on back, gormless grin on face), but the rest of the time i managed in bigger sizes or a mixture of maternity/"normal".

i've just been to drs, so i'm officailly pg. bless him, my doc was quite excited for me. i'm waiting for midwife to phone back with booking appointment. Don't feel pg, but feel awful cos i've got my son's sore throat and runny nose. Can't take anything cept paracetamol and honey and lemon . POOOOOOOOOOOH!

ps anyone know where i can get a maternity modelling gig?

spinamum · 03/05/2006 15:22

cupcakes. got my fingers crossed for you. hug.

Debbsy · 03/05/2006 17:02

erinsmom · 03/05/2006 22:00

hi to all esp diamonds are forever i too am pgt again,an also have a dd2 who is 9 months but i crazily planned this pg,must be mental,no have to have an op that means i might not catch after,so we tried and first time caught ,shock,ye i know what you mean.id hoped id be morning sickness free for a while longer but im 7 weeks now and working through it .due date 19 th dec

jabberwocky · 04/05/2006 00:59

cupcakes, they can do an ultrasound this early, I had one yesterday at 7 weeks. You could also have your blood levels tested if you wanted. Of course, you yourself said one of the best things to do is put your feet up and take it easy. I had 3 episodes of spotting with ds and just dropped everything and went to lie down each time.
