Hello Grin

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Saw them 3 times Blush Blush Blush

Hospital for me, no choice, although after the help I needed with dd, would be too nervous to have home birth. However, am looking into having a doula this time as I felt quite alone last time (despite dh being great) during a long labour, and didn't feel that the midwives had the time to suggest "things" that could help, so there was just more and more intervention.

BigHotMama · 22/03/2006 13:02

Morning ladies, hope your all well.

LMAO, I cried at NKOTB (twice) and cried at Bros in concert too! (How embarassing!!!) Loved Take That too. Blush

I'm going for hospital birth as its my first and feel its safer for baby incase any complications. Am loving the idea of waterbirth too, if the pool is free on the day its all mine! Must be nice to have a homebirth too, will hate it when my DH has to leave me in hospital alone. It must be horrible for him too to have to go home to an emtpy house knowing we are at hospital...at least he can get good nights kip without my snoring! Lol.

20 week scan tomorrow, cant wait! Smile

aprilgirl1 · 22/03/2006 13:08

jayjaybaby · 22/03/2006 13:12

so Envy of all the 20 wk scans i cant really remember bros Blush is any one else eating mountins of chocolate

lunavix · 22/03/2006 13:38

NBG, I'm having hospital birth. Midwife trying to talk me into a homebirth (is there a quota she needs to fill lol she's very adamant) but because ds needed intervention I'm not brave enough. Plus not suitable house. I'd consider it third or fourth time around.

Eve2005 · 22/03/2006 13:48

o god, i just remembered i'm 20 weeks today!

happy halfway me!

better have some lemon bon-bons to celebrate (any excuseBlush)

BigHotMama · 22/03/2006 15:08

JayJay lol I cant seem to stop eating chocolate I'm averaging at least 2 bars a day, got a thing for Boosts and creme eggs at the moment. Give me anything sweet! Grin

Oh by the way you know those humungous pg pillows that are the length of your body & cost about 50 quid from Mothercare etc, I just got me one from Dunelm £16.99, I cant wait to go to bed tonight! Wink

BigHotMama · 22/03/2006 15:17

Has anybody booked their mat leave yet? And if so, how long before your due date would you be breaking up?

claire7676 · 22/03/2006 15:41

I'm mainly a SAHM now, since having dd (13mths) but I do work evenings and weekends (just crappy job) was planning to go almost 4 weeks before.

DD was due 7 Feb and I had fairly stressful job that involved lots of travelling (although much fun!) so I felt that Christmas was a natural break, therefore would have had nearly 7 weeks (although she was late). Glad I stopped when I did.

Arabica · 22/03/2006 16:54

Hi everyone, just dropping in to say I had my scan and consultant recommended amnio, but only really because of my age--there were no outward signs of Edwards syndrome that he could see. I decided to go for it because I couldn't live with 20 weeks of extreme anxiety, 5 days bad enough!
Gonna take it easy for the rest of the day.

claire7676 · 22/03/2006 18:18

So thats good news isn't it? (Hoping I read that right!) When will u have amnio?

jayjaybaby · 22/03/2006 19:55

im a sahm 2 be hahah due to no one wanting me coz im a hormonal pergnant women
got my blood results back from mw re downs and spina bifida and they came back low so im well chuffed
arabica im so glad scan went well are you scared re amnio or did you have one last time

Eve2005 · 22/03/2006 20:01

good news on scan arabica, when's the amnio?

just brought dd for her mmr and she was a little angel, didn't even flinch. so proud Smile doctor gave her a sweet after and she didn't have a clue what to do with it bless her! she just clutched it in her hand for an hour after, long may that last, lol.

olivo · 22/03/2006 20:07

Hopefully you are feeling more reassured Arabica, can't imagine how worried you've been.

BHM, i'll be finishing work at the end of the summer term, at about 35 wks but my mat leave wont kick in till the start of the term in Sept. Has been agreed I can go back in April.

JJbaby, aqua natal probably was like aerobics - lots of bouncing around but mostly, i felt reassured as it was a midwife who was taking it. Kept getting told not to stick my bum out though - a bit embarrassing when she was saying it over her microphone!!Grin
hope everyone else is ok.Smile

lunavix · 22/03/2006 20:19

re maternity leave I'm not getting any :( We can only really afford this baby (according to dh, as I'm planning on having four so no idwea how we'll afford the next two!) cos I work full time... so I get two weeks holiday and straight back to work! (I'm a CM)

Arabica · 22/03/2006 21:14

Have already had my amnio--I've got a thread on it in pregnancy so I can soak up all those lovely mumsnet support vibes!
I think most of us are on the chocolate. DS is strictly rationed to one or two choc mini eggs at a time, I keep raiding his stash then having to replenish my stocks! With my first pg I was on a family pack of Minstrels a day. I've been trying not to consume quite that much because all the extra weight became v uncomfortable after about 30wks. And it will be even more uncomfortable in mid summer! (fingers crossed I get to that stage).

SnowdropsInTheSpring · 22/03/2006 22:04

Hi ladies.
Well i've worked out that although my baby is a fatty i have only gained 3lb in 14 weeks. Does that sound right? Looking at his scan he does look rather big and his weight is just under 1lb. Is that right for 20+weeks?? And i don't look fat now, just hugely pg! Like a three bedroom detached....with big boobs.

Glad scan went ok Arabica and hope results from amnio are good. Fingers crossed for you x

Hope the rest are well and as fit as you can be! All this chocolate talk...Tsk Tsk. Should be on oranges.....Grin

Eve2005 · 22/03/2006 22:09
