Yes pretty sure I have a few blue veins hanging around. It wasn't pretty, I won't be doing it again.

Ok I'm sure the dampness was discharge/ wee, nice. Might stick a panty liner in my knicks in future!

TheDetective · 05/09/2012 21:14

Cramp has done one now Grin thank goodness!

That was not fun! The only way I can relieve it is by standing on it and curling my toes up! But as soon as I put my foot up it kept coming back!

Watching Midwives on catch up. Joyce ain't a happy bunny is she Shock. I think she is ready for retiring definitely!!

kissyfur · 05/09/2012 21:33

mcsquared your situation sounds really tough. Like others have said I love my parents and in laws but couldn't live with them! I'm sure you will be fine though as your DP sounds very supportive and I think the mothering instinct will just kick in when it comes to your MIL interfering. The potty training from birth did make me laugh!! Good luck with it all, sure you will be fine Smile

waiting sorry to hear about your DH's work situation

My bump seems to have got really huge all of a sudden! Had to go and buy another pair of mat jeans as my old ones are too small now. If my bump is this size now I dread to think how big it'll be by the end!! I feel massive and am starting to get v tired. Only 6 weeks left of work to go...

horseylady · 05/09/2012 21:43

Hands energy bundle to pass me!!! :)

Detective I have periods of pain. Mainly when baby is winding me internally and I can't breath. It's not very nice. I bent over today just because it annoyed me so much in hope to move him!! Anyway it's not for much longer!!

Dh is in a right grump he had to move my hay this year so is currently sulking. He needs to get over this otherwise we will hit serious problems!! He's moaning he's tired so is back sleeping in the spare room. What's going to happen with a screaming baby??!!

TheDetective · 05/09/2012 22:37

Eeeeeek, I just arranged a hypnobirthing course, first session next monday! Grin

The best part... it's £10 for a session, as she is doing it at a huge discounted price due to being newly practicing in hypnobirthing.

Can't wait!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 06/09/2012 06:13

Urgh I've spent the night talking rubbish in my sleep to DP, total nonsense ALL NIGHT!
I can't remember what I said but I recall him laughing at me a lot and me getting cross. Grin
Although I am a bit peeved at him, BIL is scheduled to be here after college, he is having dinner and staying over to take DS2 to school tomorrow because DS1 is in hospital for the night.
I think the world of BIL but he's a teenage boy! He doesn't talk much and I find it hard to maintain conversation, anyway this wouldn't have been a problem except DP got informed yesterday that there is a work function on tomorrow 5-7 ( he usually heads home at 4 because he works 2 hrs away) and they've told him he cannot miss it. So now I feel responsible for entertaining BIL while DP is off doing god knows what! Not a biggie I know but I'm achey and a wee bit hormonal.

Lilliana · 06/09/2012 07:12

BLUE?!?! Oh god I'm not looking. Keep thinking I should do something with the forest growing down there but can't even see it so not sure how to start without causing injury!

Going back to school has been tougher than I expected energy wise. Have stupidly low BP so that probably isn't helping. Hope I can drag myself through the next 8 weeks somehow.

Tits I do that to my poor DH when I'm not pregnant, I think he has just got used to it now! Hope things are ok with BIL.

Evil What hole were you digging?

I'm actually enjoying being pregnant. Baby is moving around loads and I'm told by many nice people that I look good. Hope I can keep feeling like this for the next 10 weeks!

horseylady · 06/09/2012 07:32

32 weeks today!!!! Another positive point reached in terms of survival stats and into month 8 of being pregnant!! Dh nearly made me cry this morning as he said I was snoring :( feeling bad enough as it is he's stressed and I'm not being as helpful as always but there's really not much room in there!!!

Another more practical question is we have acleaner. I was going to stop her once I went on mat leave just to save money but am wondering whether to keep her till Xmas? It just means disappearing for two hours every other Thursday? Not sure how much help I'll need when he arrives?! ESP if dh carries on this way!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 06/09/2012 07:37

DP keeps in about getting a cleaner. He just doesn't see mess, he'll do something if asked but apart from that he just walks around demolishing the rooms one by one.
I have no problem doing it, I don't do anything else in the day but he doesn't like me to do everything which it needs everyday to keep on top of it.

I'm not sure I'm comfortable with someone else cleaning and tidying the house though... I have no idea why. Blush

Lilliana · 06/09/2012 07:38

I'm the same wrt the cleaner Horsey. I am going to stop her as I don't think we can afford it while I'm on mat leave and it seems lazy to have a cleaner when I'm not working but not sure how I will get on with it for the last few weeks / first month. So sorry,, no answer but interested in anyone elses experiences.

Catbag · 06/09/2012 07:45

Much as I'd love a magic house fairy to come and clean my abode (I am slightly ocd and live with four people who can only be described as 'dumpers'), I know that I'd end up cleaning before she got here so as not to be embarrassed by the state of the place. I frikkin hate house work :(

horseylady · 06/09/2012 08:01

Cat - that happens to me lol I have her every other week for that reason. It's more knowing the bathrooms, skirting boards etc get a good clean! Than general hoovering. Plus cleaners don't tidy!! Thy clean!! I'll give her a call I think see what she says.

Am thinking maybe till Xmas then cancel but if I'm ok cancel before? I'll see what other folks at work have done.

Catbag · 06/09/2012 08:21

It might be nice to know that the place has had a good clean after your baby's born and on the run up to Christmas, when you will be otherwise occupied...?

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 06/09/2012 08:34

Threads moving fast again! Sorry to hear some are suffering.

All well with me, apart from 19mo DD is on a sleep strike. Hours of screaming at bedtime, will only sleep with one of us (DH sleeping in spare room as I am a whale) when she does finally calm down, then multiple waking up and screaming in the night. Most bizarre, as have always been quite smug grateful about the fact she is a good sleeper and can just be popped into the cot and left there. Still goes into her cot awake and self settles beautifully at nap time. Confused

Hoping its just a phase. DH at home with her today as its one of his SAHD days and they're both tired and grumpy, which means I will be working late tonight going home to a joyful atmosphere!

kissyfur · 06/09/2012 08:34

I'm contemplating getting a cleaner for the early weeks, as I'm having a cs I won't be able to do a lot and I want DP to enjoy his time off with the baby and not have to do everything. so if I were you horsey I'd keep yours for a bit Smile

kirrinIsland · 06/09/2012 09:01

I've been begging for a cleaner but DP won't even consider it :(
If I were you horsey I'd keep her on until you see how things are when baby is here - I desperately wanted the help in the first few sleepless weeks but was ok after that.

My mum had a cleaner when we were born and reckoned it must have been the easiest job the lady had ever had as Mum felt she had to "give things a quick clean" before she arrived so it all looked nice!

applepieinthesky · 06/09/2012 09:06

DP has mentioned getting a cleaner but I feel uncomfortable at the thought of someone I don't know cleaning my mess.

Bluetinkerbell · 06/09/2012 09:07

Grin I feel all happy today. Yesterday work had a meeting to discuss my maternity pay. I just had the basic 6 weeks at 90% and then SMP, which meant financially I could only manage 8 weeks off. I had told work I would like to take 13 weeks off and asked them to make me an offer if they would consider paying me a bit more than just SMP and they have agreed to give me an additional 5 weeks at 90% Grin that was very generous of them and I'm now so looking forward to my maternity leave! :)
This baby better not be late

horseylady · 06/09/2012 09:13

Ok I'm easily persuaded to keep her for a bit!!

I got a cleaner as we both work full time (and then some!!) and have hobbies which we both love. Dh wouldn't help with anything so I said fine were having a cleaner!! Best move I made!!! Now I keep on top of the day to day stuff, she does the deeper stuff every other week!! It's wonderful!!

YellowWellies · 06/09/2012 10:00

Evilwater 'dug a hole'? Come on fill us in... you can't leave that one hanging there Grin

StuntNun · 06/09/2012 10:10

Horsey I'd keep the cleaner for a bit if you can manage it. Then if you're busy with the baby you don't have to worry too much about the big things like vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning out the microwave etc.

Shock Shock I'm offline for less then a week and I have almost 900 messages to catch up on Shock Grin you ladies can talk!

So marking place

Iheartpasties · 06/09/2012 10:19

Im am mulling over the idea of a cleaner at the moment. Maybe I should go for it as I know the bathroom will be neglected when new baby arrives.

Sorry to be a pain izzybizzybuzybee can you recommened that pump again? I think maybe I will get one. I have been on two minds. Well almost like no minds as i feel brain dead half the time!! haha

Thanks for the breastfeeding linky I have had a bit of a look. I think I need to view it on a bigger screeen though.

I just counted and I think I have got 9 weeks, but exactly two months today until due date. I cannot belive it! It is going too fast!!! I wanna schedule with dh when we are buying stuff! So far we have been good and bought nothing big as were concentrating on paying off two over drafts. We still need to pay off a credit card but honestly I want to do some baby shoping! I just want to waltz around a shop and pick up w few bits then order the big bits and get it all in the flat ready! I want to get the cot put up!! I can visualise it all more then.

my bits are so swollen, I hope it was the way I wasy lying in bed and that they will go down. Oh lord!

My dh has just come back from the supermarket and he saw our friend there who is due a couple of days before me, I asked him how she was looking as I havent seen her in weeks and he said 'not as BIG as you' with the emphasis on big, ho hum, made me feel a bit rubbish.

WaitingForMe · 06/09/2012 10:39

Have you got the hypnobirthing CD Detective? I find the Rainbow Relaxation really good for getting to sleep. I am genuinely amazed at how effective it is after a couple of paracetamol with a Gaviscon chaser
