stunt I no ill want most pain relief when I'm in labour and as long as everything goes smoothly and baby is okay then I'll have whatever I need, I think it's just the fact that it's all getting close and is going to happen is whats making me nervous aswell

tits glad your bloods come back as okay, happy birthday to your DS but do take things easy today

Welcome back clarella

MM glad your DH apologized and hopefully he doesn't turn food into an issue anymore

shelly glad you've gone to get checked out hope everything goes well for you!!

Aww horsey baby pigs!!! How did she have? I really need to make a Facebook and join the group, even though it would be my only "friend" Grin

At work today so hope it goes quick! Anyone know anything about the pink lining changing bags? Saw a thread hating them on mums net, I know there stupidly priced but was wondering if there any good, surely they must be seems as there so popular?

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 15/09/2012 13:21

horsey 7 piglets! Amazing!

VQ my DH was learning to drive for the year a whole year before DD was born. Taking him to practise led to massive arguments each time, so we abandoned that and he just got on with lessons which cost a fortune, and which I funded, but I'm not bitter, oh no. He did finally pass about a week before DD arrived, after one failed test, one test cancelled due to the weather (all the snow approx 18 months ago) and one test cancelled due to examiner's illness. Fingers crossed for your DH. Was v good he did pass when he did, as ended up with EMCS and needed a chauffeur!

Have started Christmas planning, would like to be super organised and have it all done before this baby arrives, so we can just do the labels etc including the baby's name, assuming DH and I ever agree on one!

StuntNun · 15/09/2012 13:34

Fatima there's nothing wrong with being organised and getting your stroller early! My recommendation would be to get a bag for it as my pushchair has taken quite a battering on flights, even just between Belfast and Manchester.

Note to everybody - have you done your pelvic floor exercises today? You're going to need those pelvic floor muscles in labour and to avoid little accidents afterwards.

Everyone has warned me about blood n gore. But noone warned me it feels like that baby is gona break out of ur stomach it moves so much!
Little fraggle was loopy last night web I went to sleep, the last thing I needed after the night I had with H the previous night. Least he was on night shift so I had bed to self n fraggle.
Also noticed fraggle was at his worse when I lay on my left. Literally felt like I was about to have an "alien" moment. And he was about to break free.

All my baby shower gifts r at my mums house, I wana go see them Sad is that sad Blush? Just wana look at all the cute clothes again. They were so tiny. Even tho they are all 0-3 months n not even new born.

shelly and daisy hope everything is ok.

We do all seemed to have had quite a few days with our Not so DHs.

Quite scary that I have 6 weeks left. N I'm sure I'll b early ( as was my mum with all three of us). N I have four weeks left of work Sad.

Right PIL have gone out for a bit so I'm gone veg infront of tv for a bit.

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/09/2012 15:14

There's a MASSIVE Primark opening near me on the 1st Oct so planning to go there to get some baby things/ cheap pjs. So excited! Grin

applepieinthesky · 15/09/2012 15:28

Hope you are ok shelly and getting yourself checked out.

Took the dog to the park with DP then wandered into town and got some pregnancy books from Oxfam. They had a better range than Waterstones and I got three good ones for £6. Will take them with me to Center Parcs on monday because I won't be doing much more than lounging around reading for the week. It will be bliss.

kissyfur · 15/09/2012 15:31

Oo that sounds lovely apple am very Envy love centre parcs!

Am feeling so tired today, DD is having a Peppa pig marathon as I'm not up to much more than sitting on the sofa. Feel like a bad mummy!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 15/09/2012 16:03

apple that sounds like heaven!

kissy I could have written that, it's exactly what we're doing!

applepieinthesky · 15/09/2012 16:19

It would be lovely if the weather stays like this but the important thing is to get away for a few days and relax. When I go back to work i'll only have three weeks left, I can't believe it. Then after that baby could come at any time. I'm so excited Smile

ShellyBobbs · 15/09/2012 16:52

Hello everyone, I'm back. Thanks for all your well wishes. Grin

Well everything is perfect, baby is very, very active, my blood pressure is now totally under control, but I did start to have extremely strong braxton hicks again whilst I was there, they were getting stronger and stronger and were very frequent. When they checked me my cervix was firmly shut so they are just braxton hicks, but everything I've ever had for the last few weeks is all down to this damned water infection!

They were gob-smacked that I wasn't seen by them yesterday and the doctor I saw today couldn't believe that they had actually prescribed me the same antibiotics that I told them didn't work the first time. I've now been given different and stronger antibiotics and iron tablets, she explained although my iron isn't 'low', it has fallen and this in itself could cause an irregular pulse so to take them just for a couple of weeks as a precaution. They didn't send off my urine sample yesterday so that's been done today to check the kind of infection. It has also spread into my back (ouch) so hopefully I'll be fine in a week and back to normal. PHEW!

Thanks for making me see sense ladies, and hubby is grateful to you all because I never listen to him Blush. Thanks again x

MissMummy1 · 15/09/2012 17:01

Glad all is okay shelly. It's amazing what a different doctor's perspective can do! Take care x

Apple I am also extremely jealous of your Centre Parcs holiday! I went last year for a friend's hen weekend and had a fab time. Desperately trying to convince DH that a week at Centre Parcs in April will be a much safer bet than a dive holiday with a baby... Have a lovely time!

After 3 failed attempts of doing it conventionally, I'm off to try and make banana bread in my breadmaker. I normally hate bananas but DH bought them this week (he is never trusted to do the food shop alone again, bananas were the only fruit he bought and they're the only fruit neither of us like?!) and I looooove banana bread. Wish me luck! Have a feeling I'm going to have to phone my gran for some advice...

ValiumQueen · 15/09/2012 17:22

So glad shelly that all makes sense. Water infections can be quite odd and not present how you think. Good they gave you stronger better antibiotics.

DH had a drive this morning and we nearly had a little crash. His foot got stuck under the brake peddle so he could not brake so we overshot by about 8ft. Thankfully nothing was coming but it really shook him up. Me a bit too. He has a big hole in the sole of his shoe and it got caught on that. Been shoe shopping for him today.

Went to a very big shopping centre and have felt invisible. The amount of idiots who have walked into me, tripped over the pushchair or shoved my elder child. Grr. I had to just leave as I was concerned I might actually hurt someone. Sometimes I really hate people!

StuntNun · 15/09/2012 17:24

Great to hear everything's okay with baby Shelly, you had us worried there. I hope the antibiotics sort you out but maybe try lots of water and cranberry juice as well to flush your system.

kissyfur · 15/09/2012 17:49

Glad to hear you're alright shelly, hope u feel 100% better soon!

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/09/2012 20:37

Good news Shelley, hope the new antibiotics get it sorted.

I'm finding it harder and harder to get comfy now even on the sofa I feel bad if I slouch, I can't lie on my side without a pillow under my bump. Only going to get worse!

Evilwater · 15/09/2012 20:39

Glad too hear everything is ok shelly.

A busy day, food shopping done for me my dad and nan. Then breastfeeding class, over to my uncle to give him his present, then sort out the times for the train and then supper.

Breastfeeding class was very good, loads of information. Deffo a must, for any mum.

Off to bath tomorrow, can't wait.

kirrinIsland · 15/09/2012 20:42

Glad to hear you're ok Shelly

DH a MASSIVE primark? Where? And why did nobody tell me?!

I've had a good day doing nothing special, but I am now inexplicably tired and will be going to bed soon - how pathetic am I?!

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/09/2012 20:45

kirrin at Westwood cross! I went there the other week with my mum and the building is huge (next to tk maxx) it's about 3 floors too. Don't forget, 1st oct!

I am so glad you got things sorted shelly.

I had my 32 week appointment yesterday. All fine and measuring 33cm. Up until now I have measured one cm less than weeks so there has been a bit of a growth spurt.

Busy few days really. Outdoor activities day on Thursday. It was pretty breezy and overcast but stayed dry so it was all good. There were loads f staff so I didn't need to do the frantic running about I normally do. Kids had fun and I survived so a success all round really.

Last night we went to a talk with Seamus Heaney. Both of us studied Heaney in senior high school so it was a bit of a blast from the past.

Today, we had a long lie (gosh I felt I needed it) a curry for lunch an a talk with Ian Rankin and Peter James.

Now we are chilling on the sofa watching breaking bad and i am treating myself to a glass of wine from a wedding present bottle. It is delicious! In a way I am glad i can only have one glass - previously I would have knocked it back and barely tasted it. Now I am savouring every mouthful.

Car seat base just arrived - it has been 'out for delivery' since Thursday and no card was left. Poor neighbour has been hanging on to it waiting for us to come and get it. So that's us got car seat, base, Moses basket, stand and fitted sheets this week. Wee trip to Ikea might see us finally sorted.

misslaughalot · 15/09/2012 21:01

Shelly glad to hear you've been double checked and all is ok!

I think baby has spun itself round the last couple of days. I'm pretty sure that most of the way through this pregnancy it's been head down (definitely was at 12 week and 20 week scans) and I've been feeling most kicks at the top of my bump until the last couple of days when the kicks have completely moved to the bottom of my bump. I know it's still early (am only 30 + 5) and there's loads of time for it to turn again, but weirdly I'm missing the big kicks under my ribs!

kirrinIsland · 15/09/2012 21:12

Oooh - my mat leave starts on the 1st Oct - I guess I'll be heading down to primark to celebrate!!

Peaky1 · 15/09/2012 21:24

misslaughalot same here! I'm being kicked in my pelvis now. Just spent the past hour on gym ball, all 4s, trying to sit more upright in the hopes of turning him back. Oh well, failed for now but amused DP.

Those of you planning a home water birth - any tips on buying/hiring birth pools? I'm researching but sometimes you never know if someone else has already got a jewel of a tip to save all the bother!

GTbaby · 15/09/2012 21:45

I'm going with the strategy "buy essentials" only. N order things as i need them.

What do u think of what I have...

I got the baby monitor, bath set, towels and a few baby grows, a cardi , two blankets at the shower. So all I really need is vests and bedding oh and a hat and Muslins!

I got a gift box full of new born nappies, wipes, cotton pads.

I have bought ( and am hiding at work Blush due to mil being superstitious) pushchair- maclaren xlr, cabriofix and base.

I have NOT bought emergency formula, no bottles or steriliser and am not planning to before I want to use them.

I thought I'd have loads to buy! But I don't think I do?

What do u think? Anything I REALLY need.
